LegolandI arrived a bit early for our group walk so decided to have a go to find this cool cache. A good chance to check out our four-wheel-drive up an easy track. Container show signs of melt but contents were all dry. Great to grab this cool oldie. Thanks for the hide mtbikeroz
Decided to spend a nice spring Saturday morning exploring Honeysuckle.
I can imagine this whole area could get very interesting in a flood. Thankfully today was dry. I enjoyed the final destination. Checked out the larger container from the very top. Found the cache soon after. Container is a bit worse for wear due to the heat from the fires, but still serviceable. TFTC SS and maintaining it MBO

9 years ago when living in Sydney we came to honeysuckle for the Easter long weekend. We picked up a bunch of caches then, but with so much to explore we only managed to get to waypoint 1 for this cache. Visiting Canberra we decided this could be a good place to live. So when a job opportunity came up, the rest is history. All the inbetween honeysuckle excursions never quite got us back to this cache. But today was the day! It's great to finally make it up here and reflect on everything that's happened over the last 9 years. A very special cache for me. Tftc
What a great walk ! NO problems with WP1 and getting the numbers, but fluffed things at GZ by subtracting against the easting rather than the northing.
Another spectacular spot.

What an amazing way to start my holidays from work. Geo-events, traveling, meeting up with friends and finding many different caches made it fun! It’s so nice to finally be able to do all these things… again. The following descriptions are my adventures between the days of 12/11/21 and 16/11/21. Each cache has been logged to the end of my adventures for the day of finding them. If you would like to read my full log, please find it on any cache I found on the 16/11/21.
Day #1: I finished work at 4pm and headed over to Wagga for the only GIFF event in NSW. Apart from the CO, I was the first to arrive at the event. It was great to finally attend a Geocaching after many months without them. All talk Geo was had by all until we were told that dinner was ready. Soon after, the popcorn was ready and the movies were on. Congratulations to all the GIFF finalists and they were all a great watch. Also, Congratulations to BMG for receiving the FTF on the event. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head to Canberra for the next few days.
Day #2: I was nearly late to my own event. O’well… It was still fun with the small group of us that turned up. We also discovered many Moveable caches before heading off to today’s main goal. This happened to be finding the ‘A’ part of the GA geo-art series as well as the lone GC caches around the area which I hadn’t found as I pasted by them. I wasn’t alone as AKM came for the walk as well. After finding all but the last two we headed our separate ways as it started raining heavier. Hopefully, it won’t be raining tomorrow so the event goes ahead but well will need to see. Also pizza for dinner tonight.
Day #3: Today’s adventures included the CCE down in Booroomba and as many of the nearby caches as possible. I didn’t do the walk to the ‘Booroomba Rocks’ but I am still able to log the event. I then headed off with a large group of others to find the nearby caches. After that, I caught a lift with Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and Barb2e and we headed down to the ACT boarder finding the caches along the way many caches were found and a new GCA cache placed (Gudgenby – GA25097). It was great to see some ammo cans out in the wild, even if they were slightly damaged by the fires. As we arrived back in Tharwa we had afternoon tea and headed our separate ways. Another great day and so much more to go.
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community enjoyment.

**This Cache**
What a fantastic cache! Never been up this track before and was quite impressed! The views were awesome, and the cache was very well hidden. We couldn't find it initially until I finally got enough reception to download the spoiler photo, and located the cache in a spot we all looked at first but dismissed!
I am very curious what the old hide / container involved. It sounds very interesting...!

I have been looking forward to the "Booroomba Walk" Community Celebration event for a long time now! One of the best ideas for a CC event in my opinion, great to bring people out to a beautiful part of Namadgi and organise a group walk! Brought back memories of a Cankid event which was also fantastic!
It was an excellent day too, majority of the walk was sunny and clear, but when we reached the top it turned sour and the wind was horrendous and we even saw some light snow, which was unexpected at this time of year! As we retreated back down the mountain again it cleared up once more with blue skies again...! The weather couldn't make up it's mind!
An excellent day overall with a lovely walk and some great views. So many views that were previously obstructed have now been opened up by the recent fires, as have some of the walks to the caches. The undergrowth is still very low and easy to navigate around!
Thanks to 2LD for organising, and all the cache owners from today's finds!

Found with Loci612 and signed dsd or Darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys or BCC to save space in the logbook thanks for the cache and the adventure.
My first visit to Honeysuckle since the fires. Great to see the campground site survived but still very confronting to see all the damage in the bush. There is regrowth everywhere which brings its own challenges with off-track walking up here.
I had no problems grabbing the required information and then headed uphill into the bush to locate the cache an obvious spot. As is usual with my caching, I came across a much easier descent route after finding!
As Stars Align noted the cache survived the fires OK, albeit with a bit of container reshaping. Nonetheless it's OK for now, and the log is in very good condition.
I like these old caches - surprising that there's been so few visits to this one even pre-fires, as it's not particularly hard. The pages I signed had visits dating back to 2016 (pic).
Thanks, MBO - a favourite for the adventure.

TFTC First time out in these parts for a long time. Great to be back out here and enjoying this beautiful part of Namadgi once again. So peaceful on a crisp autumn day, the birds are singing, and muggles about.
Stroll down the road to collect the data, no problems at all there. Still a nice bit of water there from the recent rains. After doing a few other caches in the area came back in the afternoon for a super powered pedal to get to GZ. Coords, with adjustment, were spot on and a quick find was made.
Grateful thanks to mtbikeroz for maintaining this cache to entertain me on my journey.

After spending part of the morning cycling down, the now 'closed to cars', Orroral Road we discovered the reserve at the other end was 'closed to people' - contrary to previous advice. So, we turned around and cycled back to the car to then drive down Apollo Road. A lovely 1.5 hour 6.85km ride for 191m ascent/descent. (Turns out that the reserve is open - appears that the authorities just haven’t removed the signs).
With our morning plans changed we decided to start three new multi caches, and maybe complete one that we had started last week in and around Honeysuckle Creek.
We ended up spending more time digging for data or looking for incinerated caches, for one reason or another, instead of walking in the bush thereby leaving a few caches unfinished. Fortunately, this multi was straightforward and the walk to GZ provided good views not forgetting a ladder climb.
It took a little while to locate this cache at GZ as it was well hidden just not in a cairn as we had expected - which probably saved it from being incinerated. Given the fires clearly swept through this location we were not surprised to find the container partly melted (but not broken) despite being well hidden behind/within rocks. The plastic ziplock bag was also melted but the logbook and the pens and trinkets inside remain in good condition. We placed the logbook in a new ziplock plastic bag.
The cache container can still be opened on one side to easily access the log. It’s also out of the rain so it is good for now - see photos. This cache was a lovely 2.7km return walk taking just over 1 hour to complete for close to 100m of ascent/descent. TFTC mtbikeroz.

#5689 5th for today
I decided I need to head to the hills today, so I chose HoneySuckle creek to try and grab a few new caches as well as a few I had DNFd last time I was up here. I can't say I had a lot of luck today. Missing info and difficult/time-consuming hunts resulted in a low number of finds, but it was such a lovely spot and the weather was fine, if a little on the warm side. Hard to be disappointed when in such a place.
I gathered the data and started the long trudge up the hill to gz. It was quite a climb, luckily on a well-formed track. Pity I wasn't able to drive up here. Interesting place.
Thanks mtbikeroz

An interesting walk to a piece of history. The cache is in good condition and tucked away in its tidy hiding place. TFTC
At the first waypoint, the swamp wallabies were about in large numbers. The walk to the final location passed impressive rock formations, a good view of the Spinnaker, and a glimpse of Booroomba Rocks. I liked the use of horseshoes as handles on some manhole covers. The water tanks near the final location were full of water although I could not see how they managed to collect water. They are probably still plumbed into the fire suppressing system of the tracking station site which still has its FH points intact. Mtbikeroz, I know you would have an eye for this.

The 21st of July approaches. I think it is worthwhile to mention this for this cache. So, what is the significance of the 21st of July?
I've added some new historical pictures to the cache page, and the following text explains it all.
As the 50th anniversary approaches, it is a good time to reflect on the date of 21 July 1969 when over 700 million people world-wide gathered together in homes and workplaces, school halls and auditoriums to witness the very first moon landing. Televisions around the world transmitted footage of Neil Armstrong’s descent from the Eagle lunar module onto the surface of the moon and heard the immortal words “It’s a small step for (a) man, a giant leap for mankind.”
But how many people knew then or know now, that this global historical event was, due to a small technical difficulty, received and relayed to the world from Honeysuckle Creek, a space tracking station just outside of Canberra? In fact, the ACT was host to three tracking stations in the 1960s at Tidbinbilla, Honeysuckle Creek and Orroral Valley.
So there!
Who remembers that day back in 1969?

Remember it well. The students of Cook Primary all assembled in the inner corridor where a TV was rolled out for us to watch. I also remember the date as it was my sister’s birthday. Of course the Yanks had the moon time as East Coast US time so they reckon it’s 20 June.
What a pleasant spot the billabong is, a little dry at the moment with all the hot weather, but still lush and lovely. Gathered the information, then noticed the extra pole, and adjusted the gathered information (duh! read the description properly!)
Marched up, and up a bit more, to the surprising installation at the top. In the end, didnt need the exact coords, as the spoiler photo I had memorised, and as I scrambled up the granite for a better view, the likely cache location presented itself.
Really rather good views from up here, especially on a crystal clear blue sky day. Inspected the water levels, quite full, but I would never be that tempted. Took a long necked turtle figurine, left a beaded reindeer keyring.
Journey downhill albeit quicker than up, was a bit more perilous given the very dry, and gravelly surface. Muggle hubby came a cropper and took a good chunk of flesh from the right knee, tearing a hole in his hiking pants in the process... another patch to apply. TFTC SS and MBO

Found with AddictedGamer and Aquilus1 while out for some caching adventures. We did ponder driving to the billabong, but thought, as law abiding citizens we should park as close as we could on the right side of the sign. Coords were picked up quickly with no issues, the walk to GZ took a little (a lot) longer. Thank goodness for the spoiler photo once we reached GZ or we would never have found it as we were about 15mtrs out?? TFTC!!!
Nice location at the creek with the little fish in the water and liked that the questions were so very easy to get. Of course the hard work was to come getting to the cache and with dty73 and addictedgamer we made the climb. After making our way to the top and looking out over the scenery I had an unexplained feeling to call out Coooeeee across the valley out of happiness for having made it! Off to see about finding the cache and we circled between the objects poked and searched but came up with nothing. So not keen to have to come back if a dnf so went through the logs and a thankful spoiler photo was found and loaded up ok to view. Might have found it without the spoiler but so glad of it! But standing at the top by the rocks and looking over the valley and hills, with the cache found can feel good about this one. The granite along the way is equally as impressive as well. Thanks for the cache!
Found with Dty73 , Aquilus1 we had found this in a couple of seconds read dty73's log for more TFTC!!!
Having a look around the old station today. Seen the old photos so was keen to do this cache. Information gathered OK, then headed off to GZ where the cache was quickly found. Had a look inside the tank - seems to be about a foot of water in there - could not see the rocks though. No views these days - the trees are too high!
Thanks

5252. Out this way with Relish64. We used the post option and headed on up. We spent way too long looking around the large container, before reading the whole description and then making a quick find. Some interesting old infrastructure here.
Thanks SS-BJC and MBO for the fun and the cache.

Found with the eldest geokid who was pressed with public math and performed admirably. We then enjoyed the mildly challenging move to the final location - challenging as with the huge deluge recently the sand was soft and a little interesting at times! The cache was found easily and the view worth it. Great spot - we went to to the original. TFTC
Cache checked, ALL GOOD. Recent "roadworks" (and massive scorched earth backburn) have NOT affected the required posts at all, they are all still there, undamaged, untouched, and with all the correct info on them. Nor are they likely to be removed any decade soon!
However, in light of the recent backburn at a nearby cache, I have added an interesting alternative to this cache to work out the required values. So, the original posts still work, as does the alternative downstream.

Something wrong here. We obtained the required info, but could not produce a correct checksum. It looks like this crossing might have be upgraded since the cache was placed. Possible new or replaced poles here.

Today's ACT middle distance orienteering champs was based at Honeysuckle Creek. Being so close, I just had to find this cache afterwards. I was keen to drive right up to the posted co-ords, but just as I arrived at the intersection, the ranger went past, so I walked in instead. The information was quickly collected and then it was off to GZ. Hot work. I was very tempted ... The cache was quickly found. TFTC

Found whilst walking the Australian Alpine Walking Track, Walhalla to Tharwa. Spent some of the spare time looking for caches on the way. TFTC.
Before dinner we did this multi and were surprised that this was a longer walk up. At the GZ we looked a little bit longer but we found the container. Tftc #3789
I got the coordinates for this one on the first day of 2014, and signed the log on the last day of 2014!
My sister and I trudged up to sign the log, which took about 15 minutes from our campsite down at Honeysuckle Creek campsite. It was pretty steep and pretty hot, so several drinks breaks were required.
Thank goodness for the spoiler photo, which helped us a lot as my GPSr was all over the place at GZ.

I have come to visit one of my favourite spots in Canberra (Honey Suckle Creek). I was planning to drive up and do the LEGOLAND (and others in the vicinity) caches but the gate was shut. A quick change of plan saw me completing the Namadgi Billabong cache and a climb up Booroomba Rocks to grab a few caches up there. The final coordinates had me about 20 metres from the GZ. After a thorough search I decided that there was only one spot that made sense for the hide. I walked over and found it almost immediately. I didn't look at the spoiler photos prior to doing the cache. Having looked at them when I got home, it certainly makes the hiding spot very obvious. Great view, not sure why I haven't tried to do this before now. TFTC
A Canberra Bushwalking Club trip in the area. After we finished, I did a few more. I'd sat on my glasses, so had difficulty reading the cache description. That led to a first attempt counting concrete and new flexible posts. A recount produced the correct result and it was back up to grab the cache. Trip report at http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/?p=3215 .TFTC.
Our first geocache after breakfast, with a short walk from the Honeysuckle campground. We hoped that the tent would be dry enough to pack on our return and it was. Left TB. TFTC.

This cache totally kicked my butt- killer hill on the way there, unprepared for the torrential downpour on the way back. That it was still worth it is saying something about this cache! Thank you.
After having found the Exploring History - Honeysuckle Creek, we took a walk and went up and up and up...
Realised that nobody had visited the cache in over a year - wonder why?
The cache and its contents were in good condition, just waiting for some more visits.

Beautiful day for an outing with my sons. The young fellas liked the clue-gathering and calculations. We knew where this was going, and sure enough, up we went. Well worth the walk. TNLN TFTC
Whilst the camp ovens were cooking I decided to try for this one, not sure how long the walk might be. The maths was simpler than expected and we did see some water and hear some frogs gathering the info.
Then it was up the hill, was steeper than I thought when I looked back.
Arriving at GZ gave a couple of cooees and admired the views before hunting for the cache. No, not there but that looks like a likely spot, and so it was!
The geokid in the carrier on my back fell asleep on the way home and thankfully we got back just as the sun was setting. A nice wander. TFTC!

Did this one the hard way, up through thicket on side of the hill. Geomoofy was not too happy, as we could have taken the easier way which I didnt realise until we got up there, and narrowly escaped a swift kick up the geobutt as I got out of her way quickly. Had problems finding this one(scrambling around the old GZ), but then realised needed to log in the coordinates for the new GZ!
Once we found the cache, Geomoofy was happy again.

Finding out the answers was pretty easy. The cache was very easy to find. The photo really helped. Very steep walk up the hill. Nice views. Took keyring in exchange for a geocoin. TFTC.
NOTE: The geocoin that we put in there was the one that you gave us on Tuesday afternoon. Once again, we would like to thank you very much for that and for visiting our house. Hoped you enjoyed it. See you around.

Found late afternoon with TeamPPSS. A great place to visit, and an interesting walk associated with this cache. Had to stop briefly on the way down after a 5ft brown snake decided to act like a cobra and raise up at us from very close distance. After this we stayed well on the paths before returning to the car to visit the radio telescope in its current location. Dipped 2009 Victoria Bushfire Appeal Geocoin for a visit. TNLN TFTC
Completed this with Aussiepuschaks and loved the area, very intersting but short history for the tracking station and will have to return and camp at the campground someday to discover more of the area. Plenty of other caches around here to tackle as well. TNLNSL TFTC
Reperio at 1635. Was in the area today so decided to try and tackle this one as well before it was time to head home. The numbers were calculated well enough and then made a dash up to GZ where the cache was discovered in the first spot I checked. The little location and views were enjoyed just bordering on sunset before heading back down again.

A change of plans this morning had me chasing a FTF out this way instead of my well-planned trip out to the Cotter. Hence I did this one without reading any of the logs and so took the hard way up. It wasn't until I was 30 metres from GZ that I found what was there. I really enjoyed sitting for a while until my ears got used to the silence and I got to hear the echoey noises coming from the former cache home. Found an interesting item on the ground there that had me looking around in alarm (see picture). Then I admired the views and picked up the cache. Someone had logged "leave no footprints". Funny I don't have the power of levitation so I am afraid that leaves me out of geocaching in the future....
You wouldn't believe that we had been up here in the white whale 10 minutes ago (we felt pretty clever actually)! Rbirtles did the clue resolution while I visited the camp ground and then it was back to GZ for the log and to drop off a TB. Also checked out the water levels: none in the small one and about 1 foot in the big one. TFTC!

Second last cache for the day. Newberys and I had a laugh as we had been in the exact spot 10 minutes earlier casing out a possible approach for Honeysuckle Dreaming. Thanks for the chase Secret Squirrel! TNLN.
Nice easy multi. TFTC

Did the leg work for this one a while back and only got around to finishing it today with Steveski74. TFTC.
As per usual I went straight to the top to check the view and only then decided that the cache was probably somewhere else. After an awesome day on the ridge-line with Agent Basil (and given I am carrying a hip injury at present which is making this type of stuff harder than normal) I was also somewhat pleased to note that it was today possible to drive to within cooee of the cache. I wonder why that has become a saying because after all a "cooee" can certainly travel a very long way if delivered correctly. Think this was 307 for me after today's little haul....although I can't log the earth cache until AB sends me the pics! TFTC.
This was BatGirl&Co and my last cache for the day after our epic respective 300 milestone day. I had tried this once before but missed one of the posts. This time, I was prepared to use the Basil-mobile for the assault - never though this could be a drive by but if you have the right sort of vehicle....... Made a difference after our epic hikes and climbs (oh ok, the epic climbs were probably not considered epic by most normal people). Very interesting spot with triffic views. Now to find somewhere to soak my paws and relive those "ropey" bits. Cheers
No problem today in finding the required information at the listed coordinates.
After gathering the required information I made my way up the the GZ for a virtual driveby find (something I've been used to this month!)
TNLN and thanks SecretSquirrel-BJC for the cache.

Dropped by today
Sorry, Jimmymaff, the cache is definitely there
Sorry, Basil, you will have to stop fluffing your brush, and open your eyes to find that third post.
Met up with a cacher family who have only found 3 caches in 8 years - and one of them was this cache - LOL. It was great to have a chat and see the excitement in the eyes of the Snow Princess as she looked through the contents of the cache!

Didnt set out to do this cache, but on the walk up we met secret squirrel who was heading up to do some maintenance on the cache. My daughter "Snow Princess" first cache, She took the owl, but had nothing to leave, so we will be back.
I was up at Honeysuckle for the Apollo rally so thought I'd give this one a shot. Great heart starter after a big night with the boys. Original hide was very unique. Enjoyed the sunrise from atop the rocks. Alas couldn't locate cache but maybe it's been kidnapped by muggles. Enjoyed my walk anyhow.TFTL.
Was in the neighbourhood. I was about to log a "needs maintenance" but getting home and noting previous logs - it mentions an overgrown post - bugga - I certainly only saw 2 ! Oh well, next time
1:23pm
Now Doc, tell the truth, the pooch almost got screwed on this one because we missed the overgrown post! We knew something was not right when we got a negative number! So, after I did the maths in my head (Never a good idea really) I remarked, it's not far!!
Bloody hills!!
So after I crawled to the top, and Doc did a strip part way up, yeah, I saw it and it scared me mmmk! We arrived, rather dry as we did not bring water with us. We started to look, I looked one spot, Doc looked another. it was then, after looking and nothing revealed itself, I read about the slight change. I found it easy after that.
Took a coin.
Cheers

Having found the nearby Earthcache, we cast our minds to the smorgasbord of geocaches in Tuggeranong. But wait, a simple multi is nearby says Webby. OK let's give a whirl.
Data collected, numbers crunch (the pooch is left untouched) and we looked at the result. Looks easy.
Reached GZ reflecting on the increase in altitude, heart rate and oxygen consumption. I thought I knew where it was and dived in for a swim. Webby decided to read the notes and shook his head at me. A minute later the cache was ours. Great view and neat cache. Cheers.

Hey thanks for a great cache. Dropped off 'beer buddy bug' for those who might require a quenching ale after the modest climb. TNSL.
992 - Last one for the day - picked because it seemed NOT to have a huge climb involved !
At WP1 did the required calcs and was mostly happy with the outcome. Did not bush bash - took the puff puff easy route and got to GZ - well both GZs I guess.
Had a good look around - wish I'd been up here before the move - a bit of fun involved then. To the final GZ and a quick find. Signed, returned and headed for the car and home after a pretty good day here in Namadgi..
TNLN - TFTC !!

After a quick bite for lunch at the tracking station, we decided there was time for one more cache before leaving Namadgi. It helps when you key in the correct GZ coords though - I thought it was a little strange (and a bit too close to WP1) where I first ended up! In the end we got the geomobile part of the way to GZ before we decided that it was much safer to proceed on foot. Puff puff - but at least there was no wet shrubbery to hinder our ascent, and I had almost dried out by the time I got to the cache site. Another find for me too, and the sun actually made an appearance for the first time today.

Two leg drive didn't have 4WD so we had to walk most of the up hill, but not too bad despite this being towards the end of the day for us, final cache in the area before our return to the big city.
I had a climb around the old tank and Tealby show us some not so old secret whistles inside the echo of the nearby tank.. lol
With the heavy cloud now lifted we could feel alot warmer and see some views we where missing out on..
Thanks for the visit

I think we were all very glad that we were able to drive some of the way up to this cache. My reliable old Magellan GPS actually showed a fire trail near by that we followed. If we had followed the poor old Garmin users would have bush bashed the whole way
Top gps Magellan’s are......
A bit of huffing and puffing was had as we slogged up but that helped to do some drying out as we were all drenched from our last 5 finds.
Enjoyed the nearby "Billabongs"
Thanx for the find and thanx to the team of Tealby and Mtrax.

Shell and I started this one back in March last year. We decided we were not in the mood for a walk back then but today was a different story. What a surprise greeted me at the top, I still had the old coordinates in the GPS so I spent a bit of time searching the old location until i checked the listing, made my changes and the cache was quickly in hand.
Thanks SecretSquirrel-BJC for the cache in a great spot.

I was a bit unsure of this one, it looked like it would be another hill climb, but I was wrong. The bottom mega cache is still empty. Thanks.

Why is it that I always seem to find the hardest way to a cache? Well I managed to do it again with this one, great spot and have to say really wasn't expecting to find what I did

well we saw this one, and I'm sure wasptor said it was a single off set, so I figured a short walk and abit of an easier cache was due after a non stop run down at the event. WELL it wasn't short and wasn't easier and did i feel unfit by the end of it, BUT it was so well worth the pain and I totally loved WP 2. Thanks SS-BJC!! Nice to mett you too!!!
We were glad for a cache not high
WP2 - We gotta go there?!? *sigh*
Old GZ was cool
And definately not full
So we ventured 14m north for a try.
Why are cool things such a pain to get to? Fraggles and I really enjoyed this cache, and most the most of it at the old GZ. We made the search for the cache a bit harder than we needed to, but eventually came up with the goods. Thanks for dragging me up to yet another fun place.

1208. I did the maths from WP1 several weeks ago but due to time constriants, didn't go for the prize. I entered the required co-ords into the GPS and then promptly deleted the entry next time I loaded caches into the unit.
Back today with ZZ7, luckily, and headed up the hill (Okay muggle, what were you doing pulling apart a cairn - that's not exactly practicing the misquoted "Leave no footprints".)
Finally located the cairn and made the find.
TFTC and the interesting hide.

3rd Namadgi find for the day.
Secret Squirrel, what a crack up..... Must of taken a while to build the cairn. GPS took me right around the area and then I thought....no, it couldn't be, but of course it was. Took a few good photo's, but alas, can't post them with my log.
Read the log by the upset non cacher, had a laugh, but then thought, if that is what he really thinks, WTF was he doing there....[:o)]
Signed the log and replaced cache as I found it....all good.
Thanks SS - a good fun cache.
Cheers,

Cheers,
After checking out the nearby site of the old tracking station we set off down a fire trail for our own bit of tracking. At the not particularly pre-possessing WP1 we gathered the required data, did the number crunching and set off to our plotted destination. At first we thought we were in for another bit of peak bagging but not quite this time. At GZ we managed to figure out what was required and bagged a cache instead. We then decamped to a nearby rocky outcrop for the views out over the surrounding ridges and hills. Interesting choice of cache container we have to say - and not a little unique. We made no swaps here.
Nice spot. Had a little trounle finding the large container, but the smaller was easy.....
If there is one thing that reocurrs with geocaching, it is the fun stuff you find out about your local environment. I took a back road to the three concrete posts and discovered some more of the Space Station's support infrastructure. From the billabong (and a bit of unscheduled math) I moved on to the cache site. Had to laugh as I arrived there - good one SS. Turned a bit sour though, when I saw the cairn within a cairn - the geocache container was sitting on top of the inner cairn!
Log entries showed that about three muggles had recently made entries in the log, saying 'Leave no footprints'. Funny, I thought that line went 'Leave only footprints, take only pictures and memories'. Took a glass kangaroo keyring and left a 1m flexible rule.
Also left an inspiring note, which went something like this.
'Thanks very much for this cache SS. If you hadn't dragged me up here to find this site I would never have got to appreciate the marvelous views here. I love this aspect of our hobby.'
Left the cache well covered. TFTC.

Found this cache with Mrs Bent and dentoz. After some lunch at Honeysuckle creek we headed out for this cache, nice walk to WP1 then off on the 'easy' route to GZ.
Interesting containers. The cache container was actually sitting right on top of the cairn. When I looked through the log book there was a note from an upset bush walker type. They seemed to think that the cache container was causing extra litter in the National Park and were not happy one bit. We thought it was pretty funny. It's a pretty strange comment when you see where the cache is located. Still they left the cache which was generous of them! We replaced it inside of the cairn. Thanks SS-BJC for taking us up here.

Last for the morning, and we then had to get home. Great hiding spot at the end. There was a group nearby of hot and slightly disinterested looking teenagers, and fortunately they were not interested in us we gained the cache! Took the TB and a coin that does not appear in here. Thanks Squirrel - very imaginative!
Found @8:15am.
This was my third find for the day (second SecretSquirrel cache). Got to WP1 OK and then did what I keep telling myself not to do - took the direct route to GZ. Whack forehead!! Well of course that nice easy track had to go somewhere didn't it?
Found GZ and cache quickly. TFTC.

Found at 13:25 with frogdude.
We got there the hard way. We returned the easy way. In between, there was a fair bit of head scratching and shuffling about until frogdude noticed something that made it all clear. I'm just hoping that the rock cairn doesn't make it all TOO clear... Great idea for a hide though.
Thanks SS-BJC

OK – that was different! I was completely buggered after doing ‘Rock of Ages’, but I still had a tiny little bit of time left before I needed to be home! Ah, what the heck – the legs will recover! This one didn’t seem too hard! (Harder than it seemed with tired legs!). But there was no way I was going after those bats! Certainly the final location was rather different – never done that before! Mind you the large container could do with a few more swaps – it was a little sparse! Loved the Billabong! I settled there for a while, and there were indeed frogs! The stone cairn was harder to find than expected. TNLN, thanks again SS!
While in the area, I decided to have a crack at this one. I had trouble working out the correct coords, and nearly went off on a wild goose chase. Thanks for including the checksum, SS! SuperJaz immediately spotted my (fundamental) error.
The party was split about attempting the find, so I waited at WP1 with one of the children while SuperJaz and Little Buds tackled GZ, and went up after they returned. This is certainly a unique hide in my experience . My current lack of agility due to a back injury made retrieval a little awkward, but only a little.
Took GC, left nothing.

It was quite a slow walk to GZ, but Little Buds was really keen so I let him tag along. After much cajoling and several drinks breaks we finally made it. We both really enjoyed the surprise at the end. Great fun!

Coooeee, the first of 3 *FTF* 's this morning before 8am!
Ah yes, I well know this trail and the surprise at the end, having ridden it many years ago and having walked along here on a few of Panic!'s caches. Very dry today though, I have seen it boggy and croaking with frogs. Took an insect, left a car.
Also, left a "Fox & Geese" Geocoin, then it was off to the next two caches in the area. Thanks Secret Squirrel.
