TFTC Found with andyfreya. Looking for rocks, but hey, there are caches here, too.
# 2011 My boy ventureTIM found this one which was pretty cool. Not often you get to find a cache with your own name on it. Bit wet inside.
Couldn't sign log as very very wet. Will bring spare paper n bag next time we visit kakanui
Quick find while visiting Kakanui Beach, thank you for the cache! (The container looks like it could use a bit of cleaning tho;)
The cache was a bit wet and mouldy - may need a maintenance visit. Great place for one - TFTC
Easy find while visiting the beach. The container is looking a little gross at the moment so could be replaced. Didn’t have a pen at the time. TFTC
Heading to the outskirts of Oamaru with Peteslookin for the weekend for a bit of R&R...and of course a cache or few We stopped at the local dairy for icecreams which we enjoyed down at the beach collecting stones before making our way to GZ for a quick find. Got zapped by the electric fence ouchies and the Falcon bottomed out when we left ooops!!! TFTC
Out today on a GC adventure, very quiet re the rain. Found cache full of water so emptied out. Have signed the replacement log as original is mush. Thanks for this cache waitaki999.
Found easy enough, cache was a wee bit damp inside, managed to sign the log tftc
Cache is very wet.
We were unable to write in it.
But a great spot to chill out and watch the ocean

Finally a day has come where I can get out with my youngest and find a cache. Was cold out here today but always so beautiful and had beautiful horses to say Hi to. TFTC
#17680. All the money is long gone, but we did find the cache. Last of an enjoyable day's caching, that took us from Dunedin to Kakanui, with three FTFs along the way. TFTC.
After a couple of days in Dunedin, StreetWalkerNZ and I are spending two nights in Kakanui. We set out in the early evening to have a look around, and find a few caches too, of course.
This was the last cache find of the day, and not too far from our accommodation, but we did drive to GZ. Then I did a several point turn to head back . Been a while since we found a waitaki999 cache, good that it's still going strong after all these years. TFTC.

Log is wet so unable to sign. Lovely spot but the fishing was no good for us today. Thanks
A road that I would never have gone along if it wasn't for eocaching. Cache was a quick find.
I took a drive down this road checking out a house someone we know has just bought, not knowing there a cache at the end of the road. Quick find and no surprises, money is now long gone. Whoever said in a previous log, that this was a boring place, needs to take a good long look at themselves... any place by the sea is awesome!!!
Having had 3 electric shocks in 2 days of caching I was very wary of the fence and got away without adding to the tally but did get a smile. Thanks for the hide

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.
Log would benefit from being replaced.

Another coastal delight in the bracing sea breeze.. disconcerting to see how far the drift wood is deposited...hope that wasn't the normal high tide! Log wet but can still sign
Staying in the village for the night . heading over to the rock pools before we loose the light quick find tftc
Grabbed the cache on the way home. hopefully didn't wake the campers nearby. Log signed and container returned to its hide.
Lovely day for a beach walk.Quick find, my pen is out of ink so my log is mainly an impression!
We did a journey all around NZ and had an amazing time. The country is absolutely beautiful und we loved our time here. Geocaching was also a good method for us to discover some lonely places, which were also very beautiful.
put in new log as other rather damp, out with the girls from Waitaki Girls High School
Tim or someone else has obviously cached up because there was no sign of any cash or the cheque but actually I'm happy because all I was after was this cache. TFTC #7979
tftc, had a great time here, and so nice to be brought to another part of nz we have never been to before. tnlnsl
After grabbing a few caches around Duntroon & beyond we headed to Kakanui for a swim. Unfortunately the weather wasn't conducive to swimming so we decided to look for a quick cache & decided on "Tim's Cache". What a gem of a place, we found Tim's Cache quickly & set ourselves up for afternoon tea. Thanking you for bringing us to this place we did not know existed (we do not live in this region )
Just visiting the area of Kakanui for a few days . What a lot there is to do here with sea and estuary and wildlife reserves it's amazing. Also an opportunity for a few caches. Thanks to the owners for bringing us to such a lovely spot .
Our first find for 2016! Glad we read the hint about the electric fence! Found cache, exchanged swaps and signed a very damp log. TFTC.
Not used to byop, but will log this anyway as it will be months before we're back perhaps. Tftc
After a beach 'stroll', we decided to find some more around the area. Nice views from here, and a very relaxing spot!! TFTC!!!

Headed out with Sharkiefan for an epic 2 days of super crazy caching in Oamaru! Needed to get a caching fix since within Chch I'm only going for one a day to be able to continue my streak as long as possible! We found a total of 78 caches! Hehe Epic weekend all round! And thanks to all the Oamaru and surroundings cachers who made our trip totally the best and caching happy as!
Last one for this neck of the woods before we headed back to Oamaru to check in at the backpackers.
Very windy evening, but sharkiefan already had her hand on the cache as I was walking out of the car pretty much!! A nice quick sign and back then.
TFTC!!
