[Blue]# 13087[/Blue] Found on the way back from our 2015 Winter escape to Qld.
Another perfect spring day for a drive around more of the TRLT trail with lgoody.
Not many muggles around again and some nice scenery, roos, goats and water crossings.
A very good trail so far that seems to take a lot longer than you would think.
We even managed 8 F T F's along the way today, including 2 multis.
Cheers from 2 Wagga Wagga teams on our respective travels around the countryside.

Found damaged cache. The log was still dry in the bag, so transfered he bag to a plastic container and rturned to he spot we found it near the table. The name of the cache was included on a slip of paper with the log.

Bikerbuddy has already told the story of my serendipitous find of the base of the container & the logbook, as we were about to leave. So all that is left for me to do is attach a photo of the log book and where we left the cache.
Thanks

I see bshwckr did a cache check in January, but things have deteriorated since then. We looked all over the place and couldn't find the cache. We were about to leave when Toriaz found the plastic insert used in the bottom of fake rocks. It was broken. It made us believe there had been muggle activity here. Then she found the log book on the road not too far away from that. So we signed the log book but then had the dilemma about what to do with it. We decided to put it in a zip lock bag and leave it where it should be safe until the CO could get back to it. So I have to be explicit where we re-hid it so he can find it. There is a tree not far from the disintegrating picnic table and chairs. It has a small hollow at its base. We placed it in there with a rock in front to cover it. Thanks
This really is a sad place now, but there were a few places to hide a cache. After checking out a number of options I went to just the right place to spot the camo which was quite well hidden. Thanks to bshwckr for a good hide.
This was a very sneaky hide which zita found in a place she had already had a good look. Obviously not good enough! The 'rest stop' has definitely seen better days! TNLNSL TFTC
After quite a search as GZ had me a little way off the find, I was able to sign the log , but not before scaring myself and no doubt the rather beautiful grey little dragon with its darker markings that I had disturbed in my search. TFTC bshwckr
This one took us a while after concentrating our search at something similar nearby. Geohubby poked it ! SL TFTC
6th find for trip rather cool weather, Log was wet may need changing and waterproofind. . Quick find
TFTC,
Visiting the area for a few days with muggle friends and as usual, showed them some of the special locations provided by fellow cachers.
Visited a group of trackables.

We thought that we were going to miss this one as we did not like the look of the clearance we needed until we found a far better entrance just up the road. This one was a laugh as we thought that we were looking for a 'regular', and had actually picked up the cache and discarded, a fraction of a second later we realised what we had had in our hands. SL TFTC
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."
Very odd that this rest stop has been forgotten like this. Interesting...
Thanks for sharing bshwckr!

Found at 8:21:00 PM while travelling from Lochinvar to Cowra via the Bylong Valley. We are glad that we decided to give the main highways a miss as the journey through this area is very relaxing and scenic. Found by torchlight as it was getting very dark by this time.
Thanks bshwckr

Today I journeyed from Singleton to Bathurst, stopping at a few caches along the way when it wasn't pouring down with rain. This one was a nice quick find.
My thanks to bshwckr for the cache.

On a motorcycle trip to Nundle with my friends, Wongka, we picked up some caches. This was one of them. tftc.

A nice easy drive by on our way south, back to Tassie slowly.
Luckily we didn't need to use the picnic tables...they are way past it!
Thanks bshwckr.

TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity.
Day 26 of 31in31 August challenge. Looked for a while and stumbled upon it. Took trackable left solider.
We looked everywhere near the GZ given by the GPS. There were obvious hidey holes but all empty. We were in a hurry so we could not search further. We had some concern at the fire still burning adjacent to the area but guessed it was probably the local property owner doing reduction burning.
We found a really nice campsite at Bakers Shaft and after a bit of a late getaway we again started heading north aiming for the pprass camping event this weekend picking up caches along the way. We pulled into what once would have been a very nice rest stop and although the great views are still there it seems like the rest of the area has been left to deteriorate which is a real shame as it would have been a good resting point. but it did make for easy searching as we were the only ones there which is just as well as it did take us quite awhile as the GPSr wasn't friendly today and had us searching in the wrong spot but we did get to add our name to the log.
Thanks again jenman for the cache.
Thanks again jenman for the cache.
It looks as though at some stage in the past the old road came by this site, certainly has been let go. Cache was easy to find and I had no problem with my garmin taking me to within a couple of metres of cache. Neat hide
After driving past this one on several occasions we finally managed to stop. We nearly gave up but after reading and re-reading previous logs the penny dropped and the cache was ours. Care needs to be taken when picking up as a very nasty centipede had taken up residence in the container.
Knew what we were looking for but took awhile to find it although if was in the first place we looked
Heading north back to Queensland after spending some time in Bathurst collecting some interesting caches. Parked very close to GZ but it took us some time to find. Our GPSr had us quite some distance away from the cache, but we eventually found it. Nice container.

# 2544. Driving south from Uralla with Robmc today and heading for Bathurst. This was one of our finds for the day. We were taking a scenic/caching route. Oh dear, this place is just a dust bowl at present. Graders have been levelling everything in sight it seems. Certainly not a place to stop for a BBQ or a picnic. Our GPSs were nowhere near where I eventually spotted GZ. We had a good idea what we were looking for but it didn't help. I widened my search and there it was - easy as!! TFTC and onwards we go - it's getting late and we have a way to go yet.

Drove across from Uralla to Bathurst with Bettyboo3747 by a some what convoluted route, grabbing caches when the mood took us.
Recently it wasn't so quiet! All the area (except for GZ) has been heavily graded. They stopped short at the wooden wall and seats.
Thanks, Robmc.

A camo that melt in the surroundings perfectly - but we noticed it within seconds ...
Found it!
Like other was about to give up. When search widened there it was. I had seen another just like this a couple of days earlier otherwise would have discounted completely.

GPS took a while to settled down here. Searched for some time and found it just before giving up. Well camouflaged.
After reading Chippyroo's log I had a good idea where to look, it was partialy buried. Thanks bshwckr I'll pass on the BBQ.
The bicycle touring duo from Jindabyne visited these poor old picnic tables - looked like they date back before the arc. Unfortunately did not find at co-ords and daylight dimishing for our ride to Ilford tonight.
Like others before us, once we'd broadened our search we got there in the end. Also, the ants had covered the cache in dirt! It's a pity the stop is in such a state of neglect. TFTC.

I was in the Capertee Valley for the New Year weekend and needed a find to complete my calendar stats for today so took the drive up to Ilford specifically to find this cache and the one up the road. Accompanied by my geowife and Cousin Kate, we arrived at GZ and looked around. A number of suspected hiding spots were identified and investigated but no cache was found. The search area was widened and geowife made the find. Loved the hide and the band. As a previous log mentions, this one may have suffered from some cache creep as one location I searched would be the ideal spot to hide it. A very enjoyable find. Thanks bshwckr.

Found at 11.45 am as we continue our meander south after the Great Victorian Grey Nomads winter migration north. Excellent camo, Mrs found after we widened the search beyond the GPSr epe (maybe recheck coords for a bit of cache creep?). Appreciated the break and dried the container, putting the log, which was OK, in a new bag for safety. Many TFTC TNLN
After we had a search & a little head scratching, the question [?] was what sort of cache we would hide here ; with the search widened a little we came up trumps , thanks for the history, TFTC / TFTH / SL
This one had me gooing for a while. Eventually the very good camo gave it self up and the cache was in hand.
Thanks
Thanks
A nice little cache to commemorate my week of work down the end of Tara Loop Road. I had to look around a few times to make this find, but that made it all extra satisying. TFTC!
This cache eluded us this time but maybe we weren't in the right headspace.
We chased around for a while before we woke up to what we were looking for.
Thanks bshwckr

This time I did find it.
I had looked at it before too!!!!
I also know why I didn't pick it up last time
The hardenberger was beautiful today. Took time out to look at the view. After the rain, the countryside is amazing

Found this quite quickly thanks to the name. . Nice history and a good place for a quick stop.
tricky hide as there are lots of hidey holes - went pretty much straight for this first time but didn't notice it. went back around again & it looked slightly out of place. Great hide & my 7th & last cache for the day on my first caching adventure!! TFTC
Capellaman- Found today while in the area, as the previous logs say, the cache name helps. Although it was belly up when i found it, might need some camo on the under side as it stands out, when up side down.SL TFTC.
What an interesting spot this is although a little run down. It did take me 5 minutes or so checking out all the hidey holes. I spotted a lovely bearded dragon in one of the holes which refused to move when I shone the torch one him. I eventually read the Cache name and soon hand the blighter.
Little did I know when I was filling in the log, I would be back here in an hours time when I find out I’ve left the GPS sitting on a log nearby. Nice touch that it rained in the meantime so now I'll find out how shower proof they really are

Had two looks...a good one in the morning on the way out...all the obvious spots....Contacted help before travelling back in the afternoon...still no find. The area looks as if a lot of scratching has taken place and lots of rubbish in the nearby bins and fireplaces too. Will check again next time but after talking to people who have found it, it looks like GZ may have been muggled
A quick search on the way through in the late afternoon gloom failed to deliver the goods. Next time??
Our first cache since falling off the wagon nearly a year ago. Thanks for a cache that made me look and then get that excited feeling when I finally found it! Off to find some more! TFTC

Well weathered and splintered seating arrangements. A little off the beaten track for a nice stop.. stretch he legs and go caching
The cache was a little bit of a standout in its hidy hole. But the search did have us crawling around the old benches for a little while.

This one took a bit of searching to unearth. I'd searched that spot a couple of times before registering that something was out of place. Should have had a think about the cache name before I started searching! Good spot to stretch the legs. Thanks Bshwkr
