Had a great time down here, thanks Jenni for the organisation. We will be back here in our own time sometime.

Sorry to nag, but as 13 cachers are still watching the listing I thought I'd give one more reminder about the trackables. I still have 2 coins in the Event inventory, and 'Lien the Alien TB' is missing from Lavender St Lagoon. Could everyone cast their minds back (and look in the bottoms of their caching bags) for these 3 items please? I'd hate to think they got lost on our watch. Thanks.
There are still 3 trackables in the Event inventory - could those still watching have a look to see if they have them please? Thanks Jenni
Well it took the MadMyers nearly a week to log - but we need to say that this was such a great idea for an event!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch with all the geocachers and the island hopping was terrific. We had the best of days - thanks to Jabes7 for organising such a great day out - you are AMAZING!!!
A great day out in loveley weatehr and company...
This cache event could become a biennial event!!

aaaargh!,looks like we missed out on a great day on sunday,we did sail along ye' coast on ye' black skull but it looked like a lynch mob was waitin' for us on shore at ye' park,so we kept goin',did'nt fancy walkin' me own plank!!,anyway a big thanks to j'babe for puttin' new booty out to plunder and showin' ye' rest of ye' landlubbers what a great area we live in.
Aaaargh!! About time we saw some pirate logs. I was starting to worry I'd cursed you by mentioning that you'd walked your own plank!
Would a pirate be a pirate if he wasn't a low-down, treacherous, sneaky type who plundered the virgin caches while all else were looking the other way? I should have posted a lookout on the Saturday, but what would life be like without a bit of fun, right?
PS you owe me a few advance warnings before you put your next few caches out, so I can return the favour!

To keep tracking of the "Bird Brain" TB correct, we are passing it through here because this is where we grabbed it.
Sorry we only spotted most people as we were rushing by. But hte pig finished work at 7am and has to start again at 4pm. Great day had by us and a big thank you to Rastas000 for the transport and company.
This was enjoyable day out on the water with many friendly faces hopping on and off ferries. We all got a kick out of the "balloons" attached to wheelie bins and fences signifying an event in progress.
All 4 of THENANKS had a wonderful time. Thanks again to Jabes7!

Thanks to everyone who came for lunch and made it such a great day - well, all except for Mr Pirate63 who I was 'so' looking forward to meeting... Perhaps the Black Skull sank on the way over, or the guilt was so severe that he had to walk his own plank. Maybe we'll never know.
I bet everyone sleeps well tonight!
I bet everyone sleeps well tonight!
keight and Mongy attended, and remained quite content to be wallflowers. Sat, watched, listed for an hour, and then slunk off to do some other island caches. Enjoyed the chance to get out to these islands
Murt and I had a wonderful day looking around and meeting a few people. Thanks so much for organising a great day and well done with your weather organisation too - glorious!
What a fantastic day! The fact we didnt have our own GPS did not dampen our spirits and we must thank Geopilots for the loan of theirs. We met at the ferry and travelled to Russel Island as our first location with Geo Pilots, on arrival we met up with some new teams The Lost Bunch, Hot Head and CaleD. So off we went some on bikes and others on foot. A great day was had by all and we all managed to find a cache each which was an added bonus. I don't know that the ferry driver was too happy when we all piled on the ferry for lunch with a dozen bikes but oh well! Was very pleasant and beautiful day thanks Jabes for organising it.

We had a fantastic day on some islands we've never visited before. Thanks for organising the day. Wish it could have lasted longer!
What a great day! Lots of familiar smiles and a few new ones. It is always good to share stories and get the odd 'clue' about difficult caches yet to be found. A big thank you to Jabes7 for organising this event. Great job, Jennie!
Almost had a couple of FTFs today, but someone did that yesterday. Walking back to the ferry from Lavender St Lagoon we were spotted by 'jabes7' who took us home for a cuppa as the next ferry was some time away. Had a nice chat and helped with transport of supplies to the ferry. On the way, I stopped off to grab 'Trail of Death' a moveable GCA cache. I sportingly left a note to say I had it, but was still the subject of some angst as there were a few people out to pick it up today. Spent the rest of the day chatting with old and new acquaintances. Can't thank 'jabes7' enough for organising it.
Thanks Jabes7 for a top notch event cache in a top notch location [^]
Great to catch up with so many of my fellow cachers in one spot too
This was an event at a pace I could handle on a warm Moreton Bay day. No mad rushing around, just taking it easy on island time
For me it was also a great excuse to get a bit of exercise. I clocked up another 17kms on the kayak's oddometer
It's true! Life becomes a bit more relaxed when you step onto an island

Thanks for organising the event Jennie! I've always wanted to visit the islands, it was a great day and lovely to meet some more cachers and see some familiar faces again!
Thanks to Ninasclan for the lift down, sorry for getting us lost on the way back!

Thanks Jenni, we had a great day. Our first event cache and finally we met some fellow cachers, and had a great time with Urdera, CaleD, & Geopilots. Thanks guys for the cuppa and great chat afterwards. [:-D]
Well, what a great day. We are the ROSSx4 and we travelled over with the Sprakers on our bikes. Thanks Jabes7 for organising this event. It was great to meet fellow cachers. From our meeting place at Karragarra we travelled over to Russell Is. We all exhausted ourselves riding around on the bikes on Russell, so much so that we didn't have the energy to hunt on Lamb or McCleay. Probably another day for the other islands.
was so much fun. had a ball. i dropped the icecream coin there. tftc.was with geopilots, urdera, caleD. the lost bunch
Thanks for this event, Jenni!
This was my first caching event and I had a great time. I never even knew this part of the world existed until today! A very relaxing and enjoyable time on the island, thanks very much.
Was with with Geo Pilots, Udera, hothead and The Lost Bunch!

We had a great time wandering around the bay and catching up with our geocaching buddies today. Thanks for taking the initiative and organizing the event!
Thank you Jenni for organising this event - I've never been to these islands, and it was great to meet so many cachers there. What a lovely area! Don't think the ferry people appreciated all the bikes though...
We were all glad to attend today. These islands have so much to offer. Lots of happy faces when we left - always a good sign. Thanks

Thanks Jabes7. You picked a great location and a great day weather-wise.
We had a most enjoyable day, riding the bikes and finding caches with Urdera, CaleD, The Lost Bunch and HotHead.
We also enjoyed catching up with other geocachers whose names are very familiar but whom we hadn't previously met.

14:19 Managed to turn up to do crowd control as I arrived with Cooroy Scouts every one was just leaving. These things happen when you miss a ferry by a couple of minutes. We did manage to see plenty of faces as we where getting on and off ferries.
Thanks for getting us over to the islands.
Thanks for getting us over to the islands.
We had a wonderful time travelling between these islands in order to get the caches. Waiting for the water taxis made me think about "Island Time". Everyone patiently waiting to be ferried to their destination. The locals carrying assorted items from groceries to vacuum cleaners and with the pet dog in tow. Then there were the bikes (several - thanks to the geocachers) some having to be stowed on the front deck of the water taxi. An interesting, different way of life. Thanks Jenni for encouraging us to see and learn more about your island life, for giving us more caches to find, to arranging high tide to coincide with lunch time and for the cold drinks. Thanks to all the other geocachers, many of whom we have shared happy experiences with for more great memories of a good day out.
We look forward to seeing you again one day in the great outdoors.

Another nice day caching, even though we found (looked) for very few caches.....just a good excuse to come back and explore some more. [^]
We caught up with some familiar faces and lots of new teams/cachers....thanks to Jabes for organising such a successful event.

I'm already switched to island time. The mighty PS 'Somerset' is ready to tackle the high seas tomorrow
A combination of tide and weather means a launch from somewhere uncomfortably close to where the one with fish paste for breath lives [:o]

Re the road closures - the road is still closed today, so if you are coming from Brisbane, the best way to arrive will be via Victoria Pt then to Redland Bay.
If you are coming from the Gold Coast it would be best to take the Cleveland exit on the M1 as normal, then go via Mt Cotton Road, through Mt Cotton into Valley Way, which will then bring you onto the closed road, just this side of where it's closed.

Well well well... It's 10pm and I just went down to Lavender St Lagoon to check the numbers on a few coins, with lochb for company as it was very dark and cane toady. We opened the log book and guess what we saw?
The seas of Moreton Bay were not safe today, as a certain scurvy-ridden, peg-legged, fish-breathed Pirate has been plundering the virgin caches set out for the Event tomorrow... Funny how he hasn't logged his find on-line, but I will report that at least he had decency to date his find today, not tomorrow. I must warn all geocachers that when they open the logbook they will be greeted by not only a pirate stamp, but a huge pirate sticker, so be prepared.

Cleveland Redland Bay Road is closed at Serpentine Creek road. You can take Serpentine Creek Road, follow it on to School of Arts Road (the road follows it into a left turn), turn right at the first roundabout into the housing estates on Queen Street, follow that through one roundabout, turn right at the T intersection onto Gordon road (You'll have a Telstra building in front of you before you turn), and watch for the ferry signs on your right as the road veers to the left. If you reach the parks and shopping area you've gone too far.
The Bureau is predicting S/SW winds at 15-20kts, shifting to SE in the arvo. Seas to 0.9m and mostly fine with isolated showers. Looking for a max temp of around 30c... looks like it'll be a nice day!
To all the Island Hoppers,
We have heard an announcement that Cleveland Redland Bay Road is closed until Sunday night as a result of the rain on Wednesday night.
If so, does anyone know where it is closed?
Thanks for any information anyone can provide.

*Some last minute details - yes the weather looks ok, "mostly fine" up to 32 deg according to the BOM site. *The ferry timetable changed on the 4th Feb, but this is reflected on the website. I doubt this will be a problem as the Timetable Boards at each jetty have also been updated.
*There are BBQs at the lunch venue, and I will bring an esky and some softdrinks as well.
*I have hidden 4 new caches which will be published Fri night or Sat morning. Obviously they will be available to be found on the day before the Event, but it would be nice if they were first found on Sunday. I know that some of the local FTF Tragics (you know who you are!) may not be able to control themselves, so what will be will be...
See you there!

If the shoe fits... I was really thinking a certain peg legged fish-breathed cacher could be the most likely to ruin my plans. He's probably sailing around the Bay in the Black Skull as we speak, checking his email every 5 minutes.
The weather is looking like it will be a good day to be on the islands. We're still planning to make this one, hopefully we will run into some cachers on the ferry.
See you all there!
See you all there!
Sorry Jenny. The Tiki Clan would love to be there, but are unavailable that weekend! Hey, it just means that we will have to come over some other time and visit the lovely islands ... perhaps buy some land ...!
We will be there it will be our first event cache and we are looking forward to meeting some fellow cachers, we will have Hothead and maybe Caebs with us.
We look forward to catching up with fellow geocachers. We've never been to the islands before so we are looking forward to this and hope the sun shines for us.
We will be there as long as we are not hijacked by any pirates. Hoping for sunny skies and calm seas.
This sounds like fun - I always wanted to visit these islands, but never made it. Will be there from Toowoomba.
Hoping to be there! Have always wanted to see these Islands but it's always been put in the too hard basket!
The cast is off (my leg) so I'm looking forward to some island hopping. Geoson and I are planning to attend. Thanks for organising the day.
I will be there with Lat&long for the day. SOunds like another fun time island hopping. Thanks jabes7 for organising this. See you all there
Bad news If. The bakery is no longer... It has been demolished in order to build a new shopping centre (with a bakery included). There will definately be 3 new caches, maybe 4.
What a great excuse to revisit some of the islands again
I've got the day off so even if I don't meet anyone at the individual caches, I hope to be there for lunch
There is one cache on Russell that I haven't found yet
PS: Love the colourful cache page Jabes7 [^]
OH! I forgot to mention... there IS a bakery on Russell Island

Fingers crossed we may make it. It was only a week or two ago that we started looking planning a trip to these islands after we had done Coochie. Once we get a bit closer, hopefully will know for sure.
Hopefully I'll be able to make it. Never been to a caching event before, and would like to so long as Uni assignments are all under control.
The four of us will do our best to be there! I'm looking forward to getting out caching again.
Happy new year to all! Urdera will be there to enjoy the company of our fellow cachers. Looking forward to it.
Would love to be able to attend but will be interstate Hope everyone has a ball
aaaargh!,land'lubbers be'aware of ye' danger's 'ere, pirates 'ave been known to roam this area!
should be able to sail in with ye' galley wench!

Sounds like a good excuse to have another go at that "Yowie series 2" cache that defeated us on our last visit.

THENANKS have put this one on the calendar already! A day of caching and solialising with cachers......What could be better? With all of the organisation done for us even we can't be late.
Count on all 4 of THENANKS!
Thanks Jabes7, sounds like a hoot!

Hmm I disabled the other listing til I find out how to make it go away. Sorry about that.
Marked it in the diary so i hope to make it down there. Sounds like a bit of fun island hopping and that.
