Really great cache to find with kids. Although we were on the alert for snake friends. We enjoyed finding this. Tftc!
Nice quick find on a cool Canberra morning. With the large number of favourite points this cache had, it was one I was really keen to check out, and it didn't disappoint. Great camo and refreshing to find a cache this size too. TFTC!!! #2370
TFTC, one container is heavily water logged and damaged. Have signed logbook in other container.Picked up the American coin to move onto another cache, left a bright yellow duck!
It was getting towards the end of the day and I figured I should probably head out to grab a streak find before the sun goes down or the traffic gets busy.I settled on a short drive over to this cache with a high number of FPs and easy access!Pulled up on the side of the road and ventured in; something caught my eye but I kept heading in the direction my phone wanted to take me.It then decided that it didn't actually want to take me there and instead rerouted me to the object I'd noticed from the outset.Sure enough, it had a cache or two hiding within it and I signed the logbook of the top one - I wasn't especially tempted to fish around to see what was in the bottom container! And, as a bit of a bonus, the traffic was light on the way home as I drove right past the lanes I'd been in mere minutes earlier which were now clogged up for peak hour! Thanks to Fore! and Shadow! for placing this one here!

I always like finding any caches with the double 00 in there date so I was pleased that this was on todays list. It was a quick find as we all guessed the hide as we approached. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy. Thank you also for maintaining the cache for so long.

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Fore!! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time.Today we drove all over Canberra, firstly filling a couple of D/T grid squares before focusing on finding favourites. Afterwards we took a tour around Lake Burley Griffin in this superb walking weather. Some wonderful places visited and caches found, it was a most enjoyable way to spend the day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us and adding to our enjoyment.
Out with BellaHappyChappy happyfeet1 and roostaman before heading to the wedding, found this one pretty easily but one of the logs in slush. Thankfully there was a second one and we were able to sign it. Signed as CharisMaree Tftc!

29/3/2024 Find #6935My first ever trip to Canberra and I am down here for the Mega with KBreeAHH and Captain Terror. Big Matt collected us for todays tour to kick start our time in Canberra. We had said our farewells to Big Matt for the day, with plans to catch up again on Sunday for a hike. The day was fast coming to an end now, and we were staying nearby so decided to head out for a little local walk. At GZ we quickly made our find. Thanks for the cache Fore!.
Good to see so many new caches on the way. It has been a while since I have been to Canberra. Took my time to get there today, enjoying the great weather and looking forward to see everyone at the event later this week.TFTC Wilbert67
Exploring Canberra with Tweety2 & Mabelsa while attending Capital GeoBash & the National Folk Festival. This was a reasonably quick find and as always was in the last place we looked, but unusually it was also the first place we look. TFTC!
Second cache of our Canberra adventure. And another good one. Have found a few of these in the past. TFTC.
Bit tricky to spot GZ in the dark with my mobile phone torch, but got there in the end after circling/bashing my way around the bush multiple times.TFTC!

#7411Day 3/4 of our Australia Day caching weekend. Canberra -> Canberra Today is our first full day of caching in Canberra, and when I say there is plenty to keep us busy, I mean it! Were doing a day trying to qualify for a challenge near home, along with approaching our 4th and 5th DT loop.Way overthought it at first, but soon got it open. TNLN SLTFTC Fore!
#7411 Our Australia Day long weekend caching road trip continues. Today we will concentrate on Canberra, chasing high DTs and various challenge requirements.Today were also going for a challenge close to home, 25 unique DT squares in a day- if we cant do it in Canberra it isnt possible I think! We overthought it for a bit and undermuscled it too . Got there in the end. Thanks for the cache!
Excellent hide! Thanks for all your effort putting this cache together - have another favourite point.
Based on more recent logs, the slugs that prompted the maintenance request haven’t hindered others.
Found It!
I spotted this one as soon as I arrived. But it then took 10 mins of searching elsewhere before I realised that what I had spotted on arrival was actually the cache!

Went a bit too deep initially but found it in the end. Cheeky little cache, tftc
Day 4 of Chook's week in Canberra. Today she took herself back to Hall and Gold Creek to finish exploring the areas she missed yesterday on her group hike through there, then off to the AIS to meet up with the group for lunch.
After lunch, the rain held off for the walk down the road to the cache, which was spotted quickly and found in good condition. Put it back carefully as instructed. Adding to the favourite tally here.

International Geocaching Day and my weekend away
Day #1 (20/8) - Attempting a NEW World Record!
When I heard that we were going to attempt the world record, I just knew that I needed to host an event for it. After seeing 'LilDonna_' was hosting a regular event, I decided on a CITO. So, my CITO was my first of three events today. They were: a CITO, Regular and CCE. After the fun of the clean up, it was off to Junee to clear up the caches from there once again which was eight finds. It was great fun and next onto Wagga for LilDonna's event. I arrived early because I knew I had to leave for Canberra shortly for the CCE event via checking into my motel. All talk Geo was had at LilDonna's event and I am sorry that I needed to leave so soon. After my 2h46m drive I checked into my motel and 15min later I was off to the next event which was the CCE. All talk Geo was once again had and lots of games played. Afterwards, isopeda and I found some nearby caches in the dark before we went our separate ways. I hope we did brake the WR!
Day #2 (21/8) – Sunday
After a late start, I headed out for a day of caching around Canberra, a bit of shopping at the Belconnen mall and night church in Tuggy. For caching during the day, I mainly focused on older caches, new LGA’s (for GC5KB4J) and a few AL’s to round it off. After church in Tuggy, I headed over to the centre of Canberra to find some caches that needed to be found in the night as so muggles don’t find them. Then it was time to get some sleep.
Day #3 (22/8) – Monday
It time to start heading home. After leaving the motel, I headed to Koorong and did some shopping there. After that, I drove to the AIS to find the caches there. I started with finding the AL’s and then moved onto the multi cache. After finding the GZ coordinates and soon enough it was a quick find. I then headed into the AIS for an early lunch, which consisted of a delicious steak sandwich, hot chips and a coke. Now time for finding the other nearby caches. Then I was off to fill up and head home via the caches along ‘Red Hill Rd’. This marked the end of my weekend away.
Another older cache that I couldn't drive by without stopping at. Once at GZ I got searching and after about 10 minutes I made the find. It has now been signed and replaced. Thanks for another great cache. FP given.
Some of the caches I found on day #2 & #3, I signed as JM. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTE's and TFTC's!

Final successful geoventure for today. This is a great disguise and it was fantastic to see the cache is safe and sound (and the old log has even been preserved) despite the recent DNFs. Fav point awarded. Thanks for Fore for the all the great hides around Canberra (thus far). Cache on!
Fore!’s geocaching secretary reporting for duty: last cache check for the day…new log in place (note that the small container is the cache, the one below it is the old one)
No chance of this one being washed away, drowned yes, washed away no. Thanks to allrounder this one has a new log…cache on!
Looked in the bush for a good while but couldn't find. not sure if it's been washed away or flooded by the recent rain but it's for sure not there.
Fore!'s geocaching secretary reporting for duty: another one where there's no NM log...will endeavour to get to this one in the next week....
Success! Old log is mush, and the cache was a bit waterlogged but the new log in the bag is in good condition. TFTC!
