As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

I noticed that this cache has been in need of owner attention for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

A breathless making place, here must be a cache. With description and hint it was easy to find. Unfortunately the box is damaged so the water is running in. Thank you for the cache.
Scratched around in likely spots by no sign of it.
Greta fall though, and nice sunny day.

Another obvious spot for a cache, worth the visit.
Cache was in plain sight. The rats had also found it. It is completely ruined, and the contents as well. Might not want to use a food container next time, although it looks like it lasted a long time as such anyways... So this one will need maintenance too.

Lovely falls.easy to get to.I found it on.the ground so replaced inn a ledge knee height..hope it stays there
Easy find. Cache was well out in open so we put it back in the bank. Still slightly visable for the next finder. Nice falls.
Amazing falls!! Took a while, but our 9 yr old friend from Welington spotted it!! TFTC
Found on my annual Labour Weekend hunting trip. Hadn't been found for a while and the note pad was slightly damp but it is there. Had to climb up on a tree root to find it
With your other caches the co ords have been very good and the hint even better. This time the 2 differed by 20m. We did widen the search but it's a frownie for us. We did really enjoy our visit to the falls and had lunch on a nearby bench. It's quite a good thing to leave a few caches to find "next time".
Had a quick stop off here on our way home. What a lovely waterfall, so thanks for bringing us here. We will return to pick up the rest of the caches around here and and so some more tramping.
We visit here every year. This is the first time we have been geocaching and it was fantastic. It has added a whole new demension to our walks. Everyone was involved. We had just had about 20 cm of snow so it was even more magical. Many thanks.
Thank you for showing the falls to caval and me. We were not lucky today.
Many greetings from Switzerland.

It took me quite long to find this one. I almost gave up when I finally spotted it. Luckily not many people around. TFTC.
Plenty of water over the falls today. Had to walk back to car for the hint on this one. Thanks
More amazing falls - TFTC and bringing us here
Start of our few days at Waikaremoana caching and support crewing for Lake 2 Lighthouse multisport race.

Worth the walk. easy find. Got very wet!!! Falls were impressive after heavy rain
[Finding this nearly caused a divorce!!!] The cache is, going on an average adult height, above head height on the bank. No need to climb the bank just beady eyes. We found it better and so did someone else by climbing up the bank and descending, It seemed to stand out when above it. [Thanks for the challenge and the nice place.]
Didn't find cache but a muggle fisherman came along so cutting short our search. Thanks for bringing us to the spectacular falls though.
Found in the pouring rain. Took a little while as it was well hidden, by which time we were soaked! Made the waterfall impressive though!

Mrs Geckoh attempted this one while Mr Geckoh was running Taylors escape, but got muggled out twice and could not find so had to resort to the fresh pair of Mr Geckoh's eyes, who was also wearing his lucky Gerbil caching beanie (which is only lucky on non GuanoGerbil Waikaremoana caches) and he managed to find it straight away. clever hide.

1.45pm. Simply magnificent waterfall - with plenty of water going over it today. The wind gust the falls made was very noticeable. We had a picnic lunch nearby to absorb the atmosphere and prepare us for the hunt. Necessary as its like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I was actually looking too high and decending when I noticed the out of context green tube partly concealed by roots and leaf mould. There was luck as well as skill involved here!!

Most impressive waterfall. Even convinced Mrs Zorgon to take the short stroll to the cache. Definitely needed the hint for this one.
Many thanks

Yet another supurb spot at Waikaremoana, its been a long time since I have been up this portion of the Aniwaniwa.
Turned out to be a bit of a search effort on this one... especially since we were loosing daylight.
Had to chuckle as we have been following W.E.K.A round all the local caches, but saw that they left an interesting log date on this one (we visited on the 12th, think they visited on the 10th... but log was the 14th).

Nice wee walk. Impressive Falls. nzcoozer was with us, which was a great help when finding the cache.
Took a bit of searching to find this one.
I had to rely on the hint, which was very helpful.
Cache was hidden under some leaf litter.
Nice waterfall.
Thanks.

Another joint find with OmaGosh. Readings jumped around a bit due to the bush cover, but found after a bit of looking thanks to the good clue.
Very nice falls. Fascinating watching a couple of ducks playing in the white water at the bottom. They'd paddle like mad, trying to get up close to the bottom, and then retire to the sunny rock nearby for a rest before having another go. Obviously doing it for the sheer fun!

Lovely location. Geocaching does seem to take me to lots of waterfalls!
Rich and I took a while to find it. Put it back in the same place we found it as did last logger- the colored container helps a bit and it's basically at eye level.

VERY HARD TO FIND AS NOT IN CORRECT PLACE I THINK THE LOCATION IS 12 ODD MTS OUT BUT LEFT THE GREEN END JUST SHOWING ABOUT 1.2 MTS ABOVE TRACK
Did not find, even with clue. No sign of an X. Lovely waterfall though, worth stopping by.
Found this one easily because it was lieing on the ground.
Nice spot!
I try to hide it afterwards but I do not know the right place.

Great walk, beautiful place to stay - our first visit to this area and we just love it!
Mmmmm..... travelling today Napier to Gisborne, but shall we detour for a FTF? It's a micro, do we want to go for it?
Mmmm.... RadioNut50 at the controls of the cachemobile, and this is his turf! So many hours maintaining the comms for the power scheme, lots of trips there, so off we go.
How far was the return trip for the detour? Only 106kms. Not far.
Beautiful falls, well worth a cache, and this was a larger than average micro. Very hard to get a good fix on the WP, and on approach it showed we had to go another 20m up the sheer cliff, so down to the powers of observation. What's that "X". Cache found, Are we? First? Hold breath, drum roll YES!
Best description I could give is go as close as you can to the base of the falls (going oh, ah at their splendour) about turn and look into the alcove formed.
Our WP was
S 38 44.425
E 177 10.597
Great cache placement, needs complete concealment by future cachers, and the trip in is well worth it. Great views everywhere.

Yes it truly is still an unspoilt area.
We stayed at the Motor Camp only a few days ago and boy it was cold compared to where we had been and Rotorua and where we got too-Napier. 600 mtrs elevation too.
We were surprised there were no caches in the area at the time.
There are quite a few shorter walks in the area-recommend one of the Doc Publications you can by at the Camping Ground or check online
Look forward to comming back again and doing some of these walks with caches in them.

Took a bit of finding this one. It is about 10 paces back up the path from the waters-edge nearest the waterfall, in the bank, end of the small green tube just showing in the undergrowth... We had to come back to this one as too many muggles, then spent quite a while finding it - yet after a days walking around the lakes, we had a well deserved swim (with lilo!) in the v.cool / refreshing falls - thanks for brining us here!
