I get a little bit excited about geocaches that have been around since before I started playing the game. A such, this geocache made the 'to-do list' for our little road trip out south-westish today.
It seems to be an easy find according to logs, however with Net88, Sezzz and I looking around for some 10 minutes in about a 20 metres wide circle, we seemed incapable of producing the expected result. Have the neighbours thieved it since hearing about it? Has it been eaten by the native wildlife? Are we all just a little bit blind? No idea, but maybe I'll find it next time I'm out here..

Lol, got sprung by neighbours who thought we were lost! Explained what we were doing and they left us to carry on What a wet day this is, but we must go out rain, hail or shine as we are trying for a 366 day run quick easy find TFTC

As I entered Grandchester I had to stop at the railway crossing as a coal(?) train rocked it's way slowly past. I counted 41 "carriages". Odd number, but when the engine is added in it would make 42. Thanks for the history lesson ControlFreaks. I have now found some of your caches from the beaches of Cabarita and Hastings Point NNSW to out here in the currently dried out countryside.
Found on a beautiful sunny day in the Lockyer Valley. Have been through Grandchester in pre-caching days, and visited this park, but this time it held something special in a cache. Thanks for bring us back ControlFreaks.
Cache was about 5 metres out for our GPSr.
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runciple's Grasshopper, a tassie trekkers pathtag, a mammoth who wants to see sheep, a slovak geocoin, and a travelling turtle.

Out for the day caching with angloj. We were wanting to add a few extra smileys to the Gatton/Laidley/Rosewood areas but we also managed to grab them in Lowood and Willowbank as well. A great day all round.

Heading westward for a play day around Gatton with teamdfl Laidley was our first hunting area. A bit of a detour to get this one as we just couldn't leave it out there on it's own Quite a few spots to search here, and we widened the search area by about 5 metres before I made the find. TFTC, ControlFreaks.
Out and about with IolantheK on a Friday frenzy. We had met at our usual spot and were heading west to find some smiles.
This one was not quite on our planned route today, but wee did not want to leave it out here all lonely;-)
We took a bit of a long way round to GZ, but we got there soon enough. This one had us hunting for a while. Lots of possible hiding spots around GZ.

Had a lovely afternoon riding the model trains at the Grandchester Model railway this afternoon. The blokes out there were amazing. The kids got lots of extra rides and had a wonderful time. Highlight for them was the train coming off the tracks! Of course we jumped at the chance to grab a cache on the way home before the storm hit. Thanks for showing us this lovely park. TFTC.
On way back to Brisvegas and thought I might do some search and discover on the way. Nice little park. TFTC.
Quick find whilst on my way to pick up geo kids from aunty & uncles place, cute little park. Appears as though council doesn't visit often as the Rest rooms resemble something of nightmare, am glad I wasn't busting lol

Geok1 bagged it and grabbed a TB. Last one fire the day as light its beating us. tftc
After a visit to BVCR to help out and a drive through some lovely towns out this way, this was my last cache before heading home to Brisneyland.
Sooty rolled to a stop nearby and I scooted over to GZ, for an easy find
Lucky me as this picnic area had facilities and it had been a hot day!

Found this cache while in the area today. I also must have found every spider web in the area in the short walk to the GZ as well After doing the spider web kung fu dance for a little while I soon found the cache and signed the log. It is a really nice park just off the main road, thanks for showing it to me. TFTC
A trip down memory lane today travelling this road. As a child it always annoyed me that Dad would take this way home from Toowoomba instead of the main road. Given the lessons of experience I now understand his preference for this road. Nice to travel this road again. TFTC
A few hours to spare between bike riding and eating so I headed off to find a few caches in the area. This was the closest. The park was deserted and I enjoyed a quite walk to GZ. After barking up the wrong tree, the cache was located nearby just where the GPSr said it was.

A nice little park and glad we took the time to read the history. We tried hard to not disturb the wallabies having a feed on the lawn in the late afternoon. After a short search we had cache in hand. Love the bush. TN LN SL

A nice little park. Found the cache easily as expected, our second for the day. Thanks.
Found with Greatjustgreat.
Had a good time on the swings and running around the box track.
Animal definitely has had a chew on the container.
Good quiet little spot with plenty of cover and good facilities.

gps had us walking in circles but found out in the open. looks like some animal may have attack it, container has a hole in it . place it back where we think it should have been. may need a visit from the owner for some TLC. but a great hide location thanks for taking us there.
We enjoyed a couple of hours in this great park. Spent time in the shade [a lot] and Lis, our Carer doused us with water a couple of times to cool us down. We had to wait for Lis to cook and have lunch. She used the electric BBQ - aren't they great? We enjoyed our little scramble in the bush and it was an easy cache because we read the hint. Thank you for this cache. We would have missed the park without it. These parks are important to Lis, Bella and myself as we are now grey nomading and on our way to Victoria.
By the way - I myself am a trackable [183EKZ] currently in Gatton and heading for Mt Sylvia, Allora and Warwick over next two days.

Dropped my son a bike for the MTB race up the road at Spicers today. Wanted to find this quickly as I was called into work - no more caches today - but I bagged this one at least! TFTC
No trouble finding this one but I had to laugh when I read Tonned's log coz I had exactly the same thought and actually used a stick to retrieve the container just in case - just the normal perils of caching of course and so much more interesting as a result! Anyway, many thanks for this one
Great rest area and beautiful bushland.
Bit of a scarey place to extract the cache on a hot summers day, but got it anyway.

Morning tea was promised after the finding of this cache. This spurred me on and I eventually found the correct "in".
We then adjourned to the excellently maintained Park facilities and enjoyed a hot cuppa and some light refreshments.
Have never been to this Park before so thank you Control Freaks.

A quick run from the carpark, let the GPSr settle down while you search, then move 8m that way and you find a cache.
Easy really.

Stopped in today while out on a long driver with L-plate freak. The area seems in good condition with no evidence of any caching trails. The container was looking a little sad so dropped in a replacement cache with a new log book and some swaps.
I get regular reports of the coordinates being off but I think it ultimately comes back to poorish reception in the area.
There has been a little cache creep but the current spot seems good - and the hint still applies. Will make a slight change to the coordinates.

The GPS decided to jump around so we just started at one spot and worked our way through the options until we found it. Gorgeous railway station. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We spent way too long on this! Left swaps. Mrs PJATPAC did a last look over before we headed off and came up with the goods. Very satisfying indeed. Our co-ords were off by 7m on the iPhone but got the prize in the end. TFTC
Our first cache of the year
We arrived at GZ, and searched for a while, until off in the distance, we spotted the cache just lying on the ground in the open
We signed the log, and returned to the nearest log that matched the hint

Nice quick find with GeoPoppy even though An Old Hag was pointing us in a different direction
My first cache find using my iPhone. It was a very easy find as the camo had fallen off. This cache was very wet and i dried it out as much as possible. A new snaplock bag, absorb sachet and pencil and its good to go. I replaced the toys that were in it too as they were mouldy and rusted. If a future cacher could add a new geocaching info sheet ,that would be great , I didnt have any with me today. The one that was in it was a mess and unreadable. I replaced the cache and added a little camo. TFTC. a lovely spot here, the Geokids had a ball.
Luckily geo-hubby is more patient than I am, after bashing around the bush for a while we were able to get our hands on this one. Nice little area. Would be a good place to rest and rejuvinate.

An interesting piece of queensland railway history, being the terminus of the first rail line back in the 1860s. Talking of railways, I see some miniature steam trains running across the other side of the main road today. Must go over and see if I can hitch a ride!
Yes, had lots of fun riding behind trains today. Would be worth bringing the kids, or grandkids, on the first sunday of the month to have a ride.

I arrived near dusk so set about looking in all the likely spots before it got dark. Checked what I thought was all the likely options within 15m of GZ without luck - of course I may have missed one...or two...
Grabbed this one and soooooooooo many damn grass seeds with Gunnie69, forgot to bring my trackables with me , thanks for the hunt SL TNLN.
My second to last day before changing jobs so, what a good opportunity to spend a little quality time out in the field...
Gib69 and I headed out this way hoping to clean up the area. Unfortunately, the caching gods had other ideas and we only managed two before running out of time... This one eluded us for a long time and we were about to give up when a quick PAF had us back on track. The disappointing thing was, I had checked there and completely overlooked the hidey hole...
Not a good start to our trek and it didn't get much better...
A quint little park though that we would not have otherwise found.
Cheers ControlFreaks.

DNF from us but we didn't know that the co-ords might be out a little. The area where we looked has been seriously picked over and flattened in desperation, I suppose; more accurate co-ords would prevent that damage.
Coords were pretty accurate for me. Certainly much better than many caches we have done recently!! There was road works going on around the park but luckily the cache was far enough away that I could still search uninterrupted. It did take a while to find but it is quite unobtrusive in its spot. Thanks ControlFreaks
Co-ords seemed to be a bit out ...... and was about to give up when my non-cacher partner found it ......

Thankfully no muggles were about when I attempted this one. It took me a bit of searching - but finally the GZ pointed the way and I found the cache safe and sound. Dropped in a GC. A nice area indeed. TFTC ControlFreaks
Again we had heavy rain and local flooding in the park but this did not deter us. Found the cache easily.

Firstly, we drove past the main street entrance and took the long way around. We quickly figured out that a lot of the roads on the map are non-existant gazetted roads, but we eventually found the park (it really wasn't too hard ), and trekked up to the bushland where the GPS was directing us. It took us a little while to find GZ - the tree coverage was blocking the signal a bit - but we sat and pondered the cache's location while sitting on a log. I zoomed into the map view on the GPS and figured out what direction we needed to go in pretty quickly. Once we knew where we were, the cache was easy to find. TFTC.
Cool, this is our first time caching and our first find in this game. It was only a couple of meters from the spot the GPS took us to. Not too difficult to spot but well hidden. SL, TNLN, TFTC.
