A nice, early morning walk in Tarlee and surrounds grabbing any caches we passed. An interesting place for a cache. While here we logged the nearby trig point on GCA as well. Many thanks for the hide Nibs
Staying at the oval tonight and out caching the district. Great views of cropping country at GZ. Quick find, tftc Nibs and Auzee
The views would have been better if there was no fog. Quick find. I really could be only in one spot.Found with Mogni. Out to goto Riverton to see the Mini Maker Graduation. Stayed the night in a cabin at Riverton but since i had to work all day there was very few caches found on the way up. I didn't even get to find one of the letterboxes i solved since it was behind the way i was travelling. The weather started off raining going to fog and then moving to scattered showers. The way back it was foggy till lunch then it was just scattered showers again.I was glad that this trip was in my 4x4 ute since the roads were very, very wet from the recent rains. One road had a sign on it saying " $200 if you need to be pulled out of a bog, cash " beside a homestead. A few more caches were found on the way back plus completing a lab cache, we were mainly target non highway caches.
Found it! Nice spot up on the hill with great views, although a little windy today! #373 TFTC
Out grabbing some caches this afternoon around the countryside here. 14 finds for this outing, this cache is one that was found today. An interesting spot here with a bit of history. Cache is all good here, nice to see the original logbook and maybe container. All good here.
Find #4576 on 15 Oct 2022.

Another cache hunt on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
Out and about along the back roads again enjoying the scenery. A cache and a TrigPoint... Bonus. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-tour. We have enjoyed our time in SA, but it is time to slowly make our way back West again.

We were here a few weeks ago doing a GCA Cache and never thought to check if there was a GC cache nearby until we were almost half way home, well we were in the area again today so thought we had better pick it up today ........
a quick find while in the area again today ....... we should have found this a few weeks ago but someone forgot to check the area on another device ...... Oh well all done now
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending a few days in Kapunda before heading to Yorke Peninsula.
Headed out to explore some back roads today before the forecast rain of tomorrow. Boy the crops look good around here but still not ready for harvest.

Everywhere you look is a patchwork of paddocks in various green tones, beautiful!
I can even see where I grew up from this vantage point.
And so it’s here I’ve decided to release my first TB ‘Flutterby the Butterfly’ into the wilds of the geocaching world. May it travel vast distances, discover unique places and meet amazing people.
After a very relaxing weekend away, it’s time to head home, but I have to find a couple of caches on the way.

Today gridge98 and I headed north primarily to attend the Gawler event, and used it as an excuse to geocache around the vicinity for common unfound caches of ours. We started out with a couple of geocaches at Munno Parra, before visiting Evanston Gardens just next to Gawler. We then made out way towards Kapunda, stopping off at Freeling (some great wetlands here), Fords, and Bethel. It was then one final detour to Truro for our targeted adventure for the day *Under the Bridge*, a D 4.5 / T 5.0 geocache. With our limited time remaining before obligations required us to be home, we found a few previous troubled and new caches around Nuriootpa. A nice day to be geocaching around, except the couple of locations requiring us to walk through the dried grass, collecting sharp grass seeds through our shoes and socks. It's that time of year where gaiters start becoming a must!
Although gridge98 had found this one previously, it was close enough during our rural random driving for me to grab this quickly also. A really cool location, and enjoyed seeing the history of this one. The cache didn't take long to find, and logbook was all good. Thanks Nibs and Auzee for the cache placement and maintenance.

Out for the day with gridge98, we stopped to find this one. I am only catchup on logs from last year now apologies for the late log.

Headed off to Clare for a weekend of camping, eating, drinking and geocaching. Excellent.
We finish at 1pm on Fridays so this meant we could do a few caches on the way from Dry Creek to Clare. We managed to find 8 caches and all were in good condition. This allowed us to get to Clare by 5pm and get the tent up before it got dark and more importantly get a sundowner beer in. We than ate a super selection of nibbles with a lot of red wine, probably more than we should have!
This was our first find of the afternoon, we wondered what we were driving to and were not disappointed on arrival. Quick find and sign of the nicely hidden cache. TFTC Nibs and Auzee and for bringing us here, only a slight detour from the Horrocks Highway.

Aussie Mary and I went for a lovely Sunday drive with Chloe the geodog....
We were on our way to Clare, only took 5 hours.
Stopped here for a quick find, once I stopped following Mary with her Phone....
Thanks

The puzzled puzzlers set out on our first Wednesday escapade. Changing from Tuesday meant myself, Blackadders, Doctor Owl and SA Sewer rats were all available. As usual we set our mystery tour target as to make our way to Clare and cache around there. As usual we spent the whole day caching and never made it to Clare. [B)]
We hadn't got that far and we were following the GPS needle to grab this cache for a couple of people in the crew. After checking the obvious spot and not finding it, we checked the next obvious spot and found the cache.
**Thanks Nibs for this cache. **

It was Wednesday and that meant the new day for the available members of the Puzzled Puzzler group to go find caches. The target today was Clare - a town that was actually not reached all day. Too many caches to distract them on the way! This was the first of the day for Owl and she amassed a satisfying total of smilies, mostly found by other people. In this case it was the Starfish who kicked over the right rock.
The usual troupe of animals from the puzzled puzzlers group, this time on a Wednesday ventured out on this marvelous day to seek yet more of our un-found hides. Today's mission was Clare however we just did not seem to make it with all these other caches that diverted us from our goal.
While the Adder found that the batteries in his GPS had gone flat he searched his backsack for new ones which left the others to make the find. And a find be the Starfish was made. With all our marks in the book it was returned to it's hiding place. TFTC

Day off this weekend so I decide to head north to widen my search plus haven't been out this way for a while, start near Freeling working my way around Kapunda over to tarlee doing very well today only a few caches missing or in need of repair but nice day out.
Without this cache I would not have known this place existed or found out some interesting history.

Out for a Sunday drive to give the new vehicle a shakedown, took Magic [8] and Scrappy Trucker along to push if we broke down.
Had a great time exploring areas we had not experienced before even though we lived in the area many years ago.

After a heart wrenching drive through this area, it was nice to pause at the site and find the cache undamaged after the recent fires. TFTC Nibs
This cache has been temporarily disabled due to a recent fire in the area. An extensive area of farmland has been burnt out and poses a potential risk to public safety. For safety reasons, visitors should keep clear of all areas that have been affected. See updates at http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_and_incidents/pinery_fire_information.jsp
Thank heavens for it's protector that enabled this cache to survive the fire. Found with mrbuzzy
Heading out towards out target cache for 500 finds :c) Nice views from here. TFTC!! #499
Staying at the Stockport Caravan Park and headed out for a short drive to pick up a few caches - this was one we found!
Over Easter Di and I joined with another six couples and spent some time in the Stockport Caravan Park where we had a very enjoyable stay. This park is highly recommended for a quiet getaway.
Whilst there we found a number of caches in the near vicinity and this was one that I found and signed.

Clare007, muggle partner and I headed out for the weekend to try and get me to my 5,000th locus cache smiley
All up, at weekend's end, I had 67 smileys and only 2 DNFs and somewhere along the way, the magic 5,000th find happened
Drove some fun roads, found some great caches and just generally had a fantastic time geocaching, as usual!
Our first cache for the weekend and what a place for a cache...even good enough to have a survey marker too
Sadly the cache was broken so we replaced it and hopefully this time the weight of the world won't crush it!
If the CO wants their log returned to them, please email me your postal address and I will send it on its way to you.

Locus cache & I along with muggle partner slowly made our way towards Clare.
Quick find, but cache required maintenance due to cracked lid.
Great views and interesting mapping history.

An interesting spot to visit. No worries getting to GZ today as it was warm and sunny. We had the 4WD anyway, but it wouldn't have been a necessity. TFTC Nibs.
It had been raining for days but the road was still dry & sturdy so we took the drive out to this one as we always find monuments & survey points interesting - they generally have a good view to look at too & we were not disappointed.
A lovely little spot for some photos of the Gilbert Valley.
We added a silver feather charm & took a toy.

Fascinating stuff - my grandfather was a surveyor and waxed lyrical about such things. Further googling is needed on this sort of survey line. Thanks for bringing this historical feature to my attention. And it was a lovely drive on a wintery afternoon - all those rolling green hills and valleys, and we went home via Bethel and admired some tiny new lambs, which geodad spied on Friday on a school bus run.
South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Today we were off to the Yorke Peninsula, the original destination for this trip. We spent the whole day driving only as far as Kadina, but we went via Clare and plenty of rail trail caches. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day. Pretty cold and windy up here this morning !
Thanks.

Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.
