I think the cache has gone AWOL. Pretty sure that we were in the correct location. Anyway it was a fail for us.
Spent ages with codehill looking for this but to no avail. Didn't even spot anything remotely like the spoiler photo - we suspect maybe there may have been a bit of a slip.
Found it after a climb up the rocks. Boys were very excited with this cache. Beautiful views. TFTC
It's higher than you expect. Recovering from broken ankle so had to send super hubby for the last little bit
Almost got caught out by the tide on this one as we were a bit late getting there, so we ran as fast as we could, scrambled up the hill (the hard way), found the cache, signed the log, scrambled back down the hill after finding the easy way and ran back to the safety of rocks before getting trapped, all in about 5 minutes - seriously need to get my fitness levels up TFTC!
I liked this one because I had to climb up which was cool. It was in an awesome spot. It was also fun walking along the beach and discovering the cave.
Thank you for the lovely cache.
Thank you for the lovely cache.
Out and about in the area with a group of cachers. This one was second on the list as we had planned to meet at low tide. The kids and a few of the adults climbed up but we estimated it to be higher than 8m up.
Nice spot but definitely need to get fitter as the huffing and puffing at the top of the hill was very loud .
Thanks for bringing us here - another of those 'if not for caching spots'.

Our second geocaching engagement today saw us team up with UncleSamNZ, Keylev, Laval, Cragger, Stik-a-crane and HeMaLuDy to complete some Musick Point Caches.
Had a fantastically hot day and great to spend the afternoon in good company doing what we love to do!
Found this one a little higher than the 8 meters indicted in the hint. All the kids coming away with dusty behinds after sliding back down after signing the log.

Out on a joint geocaching mission today with Stik-a-crane, Keylev, NZTravellers, Laval, Cragger, and UncleSamNZ to do some Musik point and Bucklands beach caches.
Amazing views here. The mini cachers enjoyed the climb - and Mr HeMaLuDy joined them and the rest of the group. This cache is definitely high and dry. TFTC

well as others have said "social life through caching' day today saw 12 of us out for a 'sunday stroll/drive around music point' ... Kids shot off up the cliff ... Mrs Stika went too and so did Mr NZ traveller and MR HeMaLuDy ..... rest admired from below ... quickly found and log signed before making the decent .... very dry so not sure if that makes it easier in the 'dust' or harder .... find #2 on our days outing
After last log of DNF, I cheated with spoiler. Dug out buried cache, cleaned up click-clack so it would close and replaced log with waterproof one. All good here.
Really enjoyed the walk along the flats, and identified the location easily, but saw nothing that we would call a "rock". Lots of lumps of mud off the cliff...
Radionut clambered up and down several possibilities without locating the cache.

2nd trip back to see if we could secure this cache.
After timing the tides right and a short scramble up the cliff, cache was soon in hand.

The first time we were out here, we didn't have the tide times right, so we were more prepared this time round! After making our way down to the beach, we made a quick scramble up the cliff and soon managed to find the very muddy cache! The log was pretty wet, so we replaced with some waterproof paper. Thanks for the great cache! It's so beautiful out here.
Well that was fun!! I did this straight after FMZ's cache - in the dark. A lengthy walk along the roadway because the gates were well closed, at first I couldn't find the flamin' stairs that I knew must take me down to the sea level, eventually found those, boy are they steep! I knew from the previous caches I had just done at Bucklands beach that the tide was way out so I knew this one would be Ok to have a go at. Worked my round to the area of GZ, nice clues by the way, clambered up to where I thought the cache might be hiding, a few dud searches but persisted and was finally rewarded with a smiley After receiving dirty pants sliding down to the sand level, had a nice walk back to Musick Point to get the cache there. A favourite from me, I recommend it being done at night but not alone as I did.
Found while Mrs McMike2012 & I were out for a walk after doing some household chores. Cool afternoon with chilly breeze blowing. Low tide, so made the walk along the beach interesting, with some local children being quite exited with the number of dead jellyfish on the beach. Back to the Cache, a quick & easy find after a short climb. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. #560 for us.
Found this a couple of weeks ago with my niece! We didn't quite realise the location. We left the house while it was light but we were quickly losing light, by the time we were at the geocache it was dark. Climbing in the dark with a 9 year old, probably not my best look but it was fun!
Climbed the hard side! It was a bit scary as it was quite slippery. The other side - from Bucklands - is much easier. Thanks for bringing me down here. I really enjoyed it. Favorite point for me! TFTC
Dad and the boys were on a mission to tick this one off after a dnf here about a year ago. This time Dad made the find pretty quickly following the walk from Bucklands Beach. 5yo had a fews slips in the mud on the way there and back and needed a quick swim to clean off before heading home.
Definitely did not bring the shoes for this one. Not as hard to get to as I imagined after reading the description. Really good spot but I imagine this cache needs frequent maintenance. Tftc!
Beautiful afternoon for a walk along the shore with Indyjones_ - and a spot of rock-climbing while treasure hunting adds to the adventure. TFTC
Started looking and saw some other cachers waiting. We moved on then came back to look with them. GabyAllan found it first. Log was wet so we dried it off and replaced the bag.
Good to meet some fellow geocachers (SivaII) to help with the find. Good climb. Geocoin taken

Fun cache. The terrain was crumbly so careful on the way up!
The coin was still in there.
The coin was still in there.
Did my research the nite before. Glad I did. Next time I should still take the gumboots with me
Didn't take me long to find the cache. Awesome view
Gets a favourite point from me. Left a geocoin to start its journey

Hi Kiwileon
Cache and log was very damp. Have replaced it with a spare I had (as I saw in the notes before I came about it been damp). It is now in 2 bags. Wiped container dry. I have taken ur wet log sheet. If u want it please let me know

Found while walking in the park with friends. Really nice weather today. Cache was buried a bit due to rockfall. Stunning views from the cache site. Log wet, no pencil. T4TC.
Great location!! once at GZ i took a bit of searching but soon checked harder and literally had to dig the cache up! i think the recent heavy rain had taken its toll, log fine but container wett, dried out best i could, TFTC.
After finding all the other caches in Muscik Point, we made our way over to this one. Got as far as 12m and realised the cache was about 30m below. Not wanting to scale the cliff edge, we found a more sensible approach down to the beach below. Tide was well out so we had no problems walking around the foreshore to GZ. Scrambled up the bank and noticed something and sure enough the cache was hidden, nicely tucked away. Enjoyed the walk and the scramble up to this one! My most memorable one for the day! TFTC KiwiLeon!
I came back today on a low tide and was able to get to GZ easily. Last time, the harbor was full up! Good place for a cache and an awesome day for a visit here. Two TBs out.
#338 This was a great cache- made Mr Aga's day. He was telling me all about the strata and geology of the area as we scrambled around the rocks. Quick find too- thanks!!
This is not a true DNF. The tide was too high to even try to get close. The closest I could get was 25 m away, but that was straight down. Not my preferred approach. I'll save this one for another time.

I've tried to get a better fix but not easy with the cliff face nearby.

I always find a bit anoying if I go to GZ after a few DNF's finding the container still where it always has been. Please look harder (or use the spoiler picture.....)
New contianer and logsheet placed.
Please make sure log sheet is in both bags.

Got a new container ready to go - waiting for the right tide and weather conditions
Little bit disappointed here. The tides were right, we descended the stairs...climbed a rock and a cliff face...and searched all around with the wind threatening to topple us ..could not locate . Its a sad climb back up those stairs with nothing to show for it ....
UnfortunatleyIi was just a little bit too late for the tide when I got here. Could have reached the cache, but didn't like chances of getting back, and now I have to climb back up the steps from Musick point.
This cache is just absolutely soaked. It desperately needs maintenance. Couldn't write in the log.
Perfect tide, by pure luck. Great walk along the beach. Would post a maintenance note but i see that's been done - cache is wet and sandy, needs some TLC
Took the route down from Musick Point after finding the cache there and realised that the stairs would be fun going back up, they are pretty steep. I'd timed the tide perfectly as it was low tide, which made getting to GZ pretty easy, apart from the GPS trying to tell me that I should be looking about 5m out from the cliff, which didn't match the description. So I did a mountain goat impression, taking the far harder route on the right side of the rock (the left side is a LOT easier) and using instincts soon found the cache.
The cache is rather wet and the log book is saturated, so I didn't even try to sign it.

Found this on a cloudy rainy day. Had some time to kill and was thrilled there was a cache close by! Luckily the tide was out and the rocks we'rent too slippery Struggled to find the right spot as my free groundspeak geo app doesn't show all caches (a shame) but after comparing the map to google maps I homed in on the spot and did the final climb And it turned out even better after finding my first trackable!
The logbook is soaked and rotting... needs replacement and the box probably needs a clean to regain some of its waterproofing. TFTC!

The tide was out at time of our visit so we thought that we would give it a go - I realised a couple of minutes into the walk that jandals were not the best footwear!! Nevermind - we carried on. Mr Mum2jer drew the short straw at GZ to look for the cache (he had suitable footwear on!!)Log was saturated so we were unable to sign it. Loved the adventure. TFTC.
Hi, but no longer dry. The contents including the log are totally saturated and look to have been for sometime. Good spot tho.
#19. Great location, timed it a bit late and had to hurry back with the 3 kids one in back pack, the final spot is not any good for kids, they had to wait on the rocks lower down. Log is saturated! TFTC!
Timed the attempt with low tide and after a short climb everything fell into place. After cleaning up the container a little and rehiding it I sat and watched a very skilled windsurfer make his down the river. Fantastic views to be had from here when the weather permits. TFTC.
Excellent position. Bit slippery after rain though.
Cache was pretty damp inside and original log saturated, but drained out as best as I could. Signed new log. TFTC.

What a nice area, enjoyed the walk to site. Climb a little slippery but soon located the cache. Inside wet and log ruined. I left a new logsheet inside a new plastic bag so should be ok for a while. SL TFTC
I didn't have any notes with me when I did this one, they were back in the car. I was trying to remember what was there.
I was actually in a too low a position but once I climbed a bit higher that is when it all came back to me when I saw what was in the clue.
The log book is very wet and needs to be replaced.
Cheers for the cache.

Found it.
The climb might be more slippy when dry n dusty than slightly damp?
Be careful.
Dropped off a local TB as well.

Tide was just right... a bit worried when we got to the cache site that the recent storm may have brought some land onto the cache... but no everything safe although rather wet. t4tc
#16 Wow, rather difficult and scary climb (Dad did it instead). Probably the hardest cache in terms of terrain as of yet. On his first climb he didn't find it and after some reassurance from me that it was up there, second climb proved more successful. YAY ^____^ TFTC
It was late afternoon before the tide was right. We therefore took the option of walking from Bucklands Beach. Enjoyable walk studying the variations in the rock. At GZ it was an easy find. TFTC I have covered the cache a little better.
Took our boy for his first "cache hunt" and this might have been a bit of a challenge with the rock climbing....but we did it.
I have been waiting for the right time to invade Musick Pt. Finally low tide coincided with an evening cache run. Of course this meant that the Pt. gates were locked, adding a KM each way to the walk. Thats okay, I am happy to get the exercise and earn my finds. Find was pretty straight foward, though the terrian certainly left me feeling satisfied with my efforts.
Cheers, I really enjoyed this one!

great climb up to GZ, and lovely spot to recuperate before the climb back up those steps.phew! TFTC
Sent rock-climbing Ryan after this one who had it in hand before the rest of us even got close. Thanks for the adventure
Perfect timing with the tide nice set of stairs back up to the where the car was parked TFTC
Quick easy find once you reach GZ on lazy Saturday afternoon.....only 80 odd steps and climb a cliff face ....great fun....TFTC
Took the opportunity on the outgoing tide and enjoyed the final search. Rock was surprisingly grippy.

Found it by the hint as my GPS was Sm114 and Em7 out and was sending me out into the channel.
Cheers

The tide was OK, so I found cache after 5 minutes. My gps lead me on the other side . Thanks for cache.
Had a nice wade in the shallows to the cache, just before high tide and a fun scramble up the rocks. TFTC
The tide wasn't a problem - it was low water time -
but the strong SW winds funneling down the Tamaki
River was. I was glad there were some plants to hold
on to else it could have been "death by caching". I'm
glad my heart rate returned to normal eventually after
climbing all those steps. - Marine Geocoin. Thanks for the cache.

The tide was well out when we descended the stairs and made the walk to GZ. A very windy day, making the climb to the cache feel a little harder than it should have (dust and hats blowing everywhere!). No problem with the find, cache high and dry. Then back up THOSE stairs. Whoever built them hadn't read the design criteria as outlined in FMZ's 'Stairway to Caching'. Enjoyed this cache, thanks for the adventure!
Dropped Marine Geocoin. Seemed appropriate.

Found on an East Auckland and beyond cache raid with Kiwi Explorer. Luckily the tide was on our side today. Mr KE made the ascent and find while I observed the views. Really like this spot with an amazing perspective on the harbour. TFTC, Biggles.
Found with Biggles while on a tour of East Auckland. Loved the seaside wander. A slippery scramble even when dry. Man those steps back up sure are steep! Thanks (puff puff) I think.
Arrived at Musik point at 5:30pm and had to jog to GZ as park gates closed at 6pm and it is a bit of a decent to GZ. Cache quickly in hand and log signed. Log still slightly damp but ok to sign. TFTC
I found some interesting illustrations and some choice expletives that had been left by a muggle.
Good news is the logbook is dry.
I finally! did this one.

Yep, all high and dry. I approached this hide with great enthusiasm until I realized I'd have to go back up the way I came!! Thanks.
