With the purpose of doing Poohsticks today I met up with Duppers early for coffee and a few extra caches while we waited for ATLH to arrive. We headed here first. I had been here here but didnt have long to look on that occasion. Today, Duppers quickly spotted the cache and signed the log as ShaDup to save space.I found your cache, A Tomb with a View today. This is my 3256 find.Garfield69au, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Shazzar66 and I planned on finding some more caching out Dayboro way. We hadn't been here since January, when we planned a 50-plus find day, and we still had some unfinished business here. We met up and after a compulsory coffee, this was our first find for the day. Nice and easy find here in just the second place I looked. Amazing...I made the find instead of Shazzar66, which is a rare occurrence. The log was signed "ShaDup", our Team name, and we were off for the next one. We had a semi-productive day, finding four Trads, four Multi's, Two Puzzle caches, a Reverse Whereigo and an Earthcache, but had three DNF's. Still, there was blue sky, sunshine and we were caching instead of working, so we were happy. Thanks, Garfield69am, for placing a cache here.
What a lovely view for all eternity. A quick find, logs were damp and disintegrating, I added a new one and marked my mark. Thanks for taking us to this part of Dayboro I hadn't seen.
There is a great view of the surrounding hills from here .What a tidy cemetery. Signed and replaced cache to its hide
Had to drop my daughter off nearby this morning so stopped here to make the find. TFTC
I stopped here for the multi and as I arrived it started raining pretty well... So armed with my umbrella I figured if I was going to geocache in the rain I should make it worthwhile... Once I figured out the answers for the multi and it showed a location some ways away I zeroed in on this one which was much closer... Was glad to see it wasn't in an actual traditional tomb that I would need to look based on the terrain but I wasn't stumped for long... TFTC
After the Ironbark CITO, Willis007 and I headed to Dayboro. Willis007 had a few target caches whereas they were all target caches for me as I’d never found any in this area, so I was very happy to come along. I signed 28 so a good haul.
We came to the cemetery for the Mr Percival multi. Willis007 had already found this one, so I made a quick find before heading to the next one. Tftc

Garfield69au I found your cache A Tomb with a View on 12/5/2023, 1:00 pm. This is my find 5290 and find # 6 today. Found it after a brief search with the help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Back in Dayboro getting some of the caches we didn’t get at Mega 2021. Out with my favourite Geo friends getting some more caches. What a lot of fun today has been. Log needs replacing, sorry didn’t have a spare with me. TFTC
Found it laying on the ground in the open, put it back where we thought it was originally hidden, will send photo to owner, also inside was very soggy might need a new container and log
Found it, however was laying on the ground, put it back where we originally think it was hidden, log is also wet, so didn’t write on it
Nice easy find. Surprised no one has signed the paper since last year as there are 3 reported finds in 2023 already. Would be lovely to see people signing and giving feedback like….
There was a small plastic horse charm shoved into the tube and I needed tweezers to get the blooming thing out. I didn’t return it to save next finder the inconvenience. Signed the yellow log sheet and winced and the old logs all compacted into the bottom of the cache.

We stopped off at the cemetery on our drive this morning to locate this cache. A short walk from our car and using the helpful hint, Wazza soon located the hide. TFTC
Decided to bring the geobike out to Dayboro today to a georide. Summer has definitely arrived, was a warm day. TFTC
Having a few days in Dayboro staying at the showgrounds and claiming some more smileys.

Quick find. Spent some time checking out the old graveyard. Thanks for bringing us here.
Did not approach from the right direction here but still nothing that matched the hint that we could find today.
Quick find while looking for Mr Percevil. Log very wet so we added a dry one.

Loving this Xmas caching. Grabbed this oldie on the way to Xmas lunch. TFTC.
I don't know how I missed this one when I was here 2 years ago but today it was a quick find.
The log book is brittle and damp and could do with a new one. I didn't come prepared for cache maintenance.

Took some scratching around to find this one
A smiley has been added!
Today caught up with Gunnie9 and NurseyJulie to finish up some caching around Dayboro that we couldn't manage during the Mega. Well we did have a lot of solved puzzles still to find! So the plan was to hit the local roads and capture ourselves a wild stallion or two, maybe show a little love along a side track, and finish off by revitalising some energy with some pellets, though we need to avoid the ghosts .... though we might have one in our midst! Better hide those power cookies!
Log singed GG G69 NJ to help with logbook space
Thanks Garfield69au for the cache, the hunt and the smiley today! [D]

After the MEGA Event at Dayboro I still needed to tidy up a few area of caches and this was one. Soon found the cache and signed the log before replacing as found. TFTC
TFTC. We stayed behind after the Mega to do some caching. It is still raining and we needed to get out. After lunch the rain had eased and we went out for a while with muff1 , who also remained. Caches found quite easily and we kept the logs as dry as possible.
The Mega has finished but we have chosen to stay on at the showground so that we can head out and find more of the many geocaches that have been placed around the area. Hans&Linda have also stayed so we paired up with them this afternoon while the rain has abated for a short time. We headed into town and had lunch at the local bakery before heading out. We chose caches that kept us on the bitumen roads and all that we attempted were found. SL TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 16:10. A FP for this location. M loves exploring these places for their architecture, social history, the symbolism of the headstone designs, and Australiana. Many resting places were not where these pioneers were born. My column or cross is closer to Heaven than yours! Interesting carvings too. Our thanks to Garfield69au.

Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.
Another rainy morning didn’t deter us from heading out on a southern loop to pick up counties and Queens Land (Qld’s oldest). Again, teaming up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! and Albida33 signing logs as MiNiFiGA’s to also tackle the balance of We <3 Geo, Geosaurus, and Pac-Man, as well as part of the Coat of Arms Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Unfortunately, we were late back and didn’t get to attend the closing ceremony.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

24,291. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes, and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!
With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 6. Not quite such an early but still wet start today with an aim of caching our way through finishing all of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way, then doing a loop around collecting counties and QLD's oldest. This was the next stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks CacheQLD and all the other Cache owners !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Dayboro trip. Day 11. The third day of the mega was another wet day, but not quite as bad as predicted. Things were quiet onsite so we headed off fairly quickly. Today Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss & I finished off the caches closest to Dayboro we had not got to before heading into Brisbane and surrounding counties for the oldest cache in QLD and ticking off counties. The final goal for the day was as much of the Coat of Arms caches as we could get to before it was too dark. The drive home from Esk to Dayboro was another wet nighttime mountain drive, but we had a warm welcome at the ACT Chateaux before finally retiring for the night.
Thanks for the cache Garfield69au

Gathering some more caches around the Dayboro area with ilook4geo as the Mega wraps up. It is a dismal rainy day, but at least we can still go caching in gum boots. Thanks go to each CO for contributing to the caching scene. We enjoyed all the finds made today.
Last day of caching around Dayboro with goingplaces2. Found quite a few and enjoyed the caching despite the wet weather. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache.
Old country town cemeteries are always so special with many generations at rest here. Cache nice and dry. Thanks!
At our first Mega. Blown away by the amount of preparation that has been done. Bit of a shame about the weather but at least we were allowed out of lockdown!! Out this afternoon (due to boredom ??) finding some nearby caches before the weather gets even worse (well that’s what’s predicted!!). Thanks Garfield69au for this cache. It’s much appreciated.

Today, jesswrigley and I had been staying in Robina during the recent Brisbane COVID-19 lockdown, which made our attendance of the nearby CITO event quite handy.
It was then time for me to make the solo drive north to Dayboro to partake in Day 1 of the planned Mega event! I firstly signed in to Mega HQ, and completed the Adventure Lab activities. With my Adelaide friends making the decision to abandon their plans, I headed around solo in finding the various solved geoart and other interesting cache types. I ran into many other Geocachers during the day, and joined a group in Hillview Court Reserve, before finally attending the Trivia Event. There were a few scattered showers, but otherwise, it was tolerable geocaching weather.
Thankfully, I did manage to complete 12 cache types with today's mega event festivities happening.
During my travels around the vicinity, I made a stop here, and I ended up running into another team who had also stopped at the same time. We walked together through this cemetery with a view to GZ, where the cache was a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Garfield69au for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.

#11156; Day nine of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. Arrived in Dayboro Thursday afternoon and started our socialising and caching in the area. Our caching continued today as part of Team Capital Crunchers, along with Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and barb2e. Our mission today was solved puzzles, in particular the "Horse" geoart series, but we picked up caches from other geoart series, along with other caches we passed along the way. Later in the day Sdl, SG and I farewelled the rest of the Capital Crunchers crew and set about collecting some of the caches they had already logged. Most caches were found without incident, some harder to get to than others! After we finished caching for the day we somehow managed to find the longest way possible from our last cache find back to the Mega site for the trivia night. Luckily the trivia started later than we anticipated and we managed to arrive in time for food drink and some serious trivia! Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC Garfield69au
Time to go get some breakfast/lunch then head back to Mega HQ seeing as this rain has set in a bit.
One more cache? Yeah of course. There's always time for one more.
Thank again

As we walked in to grab this cache we saw a fellow geocacher sitting and looking glum, he asked if we had found Mr Percival? Since I hadn't realized there was a multi here by that name I was confused and he told me about it and that, so far, he had been unable to find Colin Thiele's memorial. I was suddenly excited to know I was near one of my favourite authors and decided to assist with the search, Hubby asked who Colin Thiele was and I gave him THE LOOK and said - he wrote Storm Boy! The lightbulb went on and we started to look around, I found it within a few seconds as I had almost stood on it and it was just a few spots from where matey was sitting. That done we headed and grabbed this cache, we will be back to do the multi another day, after I have had hubby expand his literature knowledge so he can fully appreciate it.
Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??
First full day at the mega cruising around the area with a full car. Logging all caches with "team Gong gong". Great day out.

This is.my 5th find at the Dayboro Mega Event. The weather is getting wetter so umbrellas and gumboots are in order. We stop by the cemetery and go for a walk. My app was showing GZ was further away so I walked into the bush. Some fellows cachers traveling behind found the cache closer to the graveyard which saved us time. Thanks for the assistance and cache experience.
Dick from Dickbev and me (Wesso) from Wesso Family ventured out to the Daboro Mega Event today.
It was Wesso & Dicko on the road again.
Prior to the event we had a few weeks solving a few puzzles and today it was time to turn a few of them into smilies.
We had a great day getting wet and dodging showers.
A big thank you to all the CO's for the great caches in this area.

Day 2. Another great day full of excitement, laughter and a variety of challenges . Thanks to the organising committee , all the COs and my merry band of friends who all contributed towards making this my most successful caching day ever. All the caches that were attempted were found with the exception of one very challenging cache which we must have overlooked despite numerous pairs of eyes searching for it. Logs were signed and replaced.
Quick stroll up the hill and quick find in the late morning drizzle, thanks for the cache.
Day 4 of our Mega adventure to Dayboro, Qld.
Cache found and in good condition.
Goal for the day is to complete the Pacman Series. I have dabbled in all geoart series, but as I have solved all Pacman, this is our priority.
Thanks for placing for us to find. Travel bugs visited and log signed

Day 2 of the Qld Mega for the three of us. Camping in the rain. What fun. Kids have never been camping....now they have! And have experienced the full brunt of it. Today we ambled around, between showers, in showers, in downpours, getting some of the things we needed around Dayboro. We didn't get to finish everything, due to the rain, so we will be back when everything dries up. Today, I left Miss10 to choose the pockets of caches to complete and to direct me. She is definitely getting better at taking the reins.
Easy one to find while getting others in the area. We came for the multi, got in the car, started it, then realised there was a traditional too. Even though it was raining, back out we went. No stone unturned they say.

Day 1 of the GOM invasion of Qld. B@W I were the advance party and targeted as many Dayboro caches as ppssible in an attempt to achieve types in a day and 100 finds in the day with our guest member Bahumbug. In between intermittent torrential rain we jumped in and out of the car all day for lots of great fun & finds.

The on again off again trip was finally on again with Gladys saying Yes. A fair bit of solving and planning had gone into our first day with PPE and the Bug before being join by Crash and Tardis the next day. After converging on Dayboro for the Mega Event, The Rats, Wilbert67 mizmaz and steeba combined together to form the 'Gong Gang'. We spent many hours prior to the event solving puzzles and today we were out and about in the showers finding the hides. Plenty of work went into things and sorry for the more generic log. Some great adventures were had. TFTC!
Start of my generic logs I guess.
Well, I didnt think it was all going to come together but it did.
The guys from Sydney cancelled then came again.
Out with PPE and B at W and sometimes the MEGATRONS CBBPT.
The MEGATRONS started back at Casey Fields in 2015, Got rebooted in 2017 at Lake Eildon and its been a few years since more than two members have been at the same mega and caching together...so the MEGATRONS live on in 2021...even after covid.
Lovely job of the Horses Head....
Thank you CacheQLD
Day 9 of the trip north with Luckyl10n and day 2 of the Mega. Meet up with Smittengranny and headed out to grab a few more caches before the trivia event. Failed badly at getting back in time, but luckily the event had been pushed back 30 mins, so all was good.
Most caches today were found without too many issues.
