Out and about caching today to burn off some Christmas excesses. Was passing through the area after doing some caching in the Ebenezer area. This was my second visit to find this cache. I had previously worked out the final coord back in late October, but could not find it.After pondering it for awhile, I had a fairly good idea where it might be hidden when thinking about one of my hides in North Queensland.Returned today and found it straight away at the first soot I looked. My hunch proved correct and glad to finally get that smiley face.TFTmysteryC. SL. TBs Prado Owl , Leap Frog Race - Motorbike and Scarface visited.Find # 1840.

Attended an Event earlier with RoddyC and Hatzofff and needed a few more caches up this way. This one is getting a bit old so couldn't pass it by.
Wasn't hard to find, log signed and cache replaced as found.
I do like cemetery caches and checking out the old headstones. There is always a story behind everyone.

On our way home from Leyburn, we called into find this long solved puzzle.
My goodness, this little road gets so busy, we had to pretend we were taking photos because many people were obviously wondering what we were up to.
Thank you, Speedmistress, for the good puzzle and hide here, a favourite point from me

This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.

Today, it was time to head home from my weekend away from Roma to home. It was an opportunity to find a few remaining geocaches along the highway, and after visiting a few Chinchilla geocaches including the memorable cactoblastis monument [Mr Cole Snr, The Shanti & Prickly Pear](https://coord.info/GC8EW84), I opted to detour through Cecil Plains after going through Dalby, and then returned east via Toowoomba. Who would have thought that regular geocache stopping would add so much time to the normal 5.5 hr drive? With deteriorating weather in the late afternoon, it was time to then make the beeline home whilst getting a sneaky rain car wash along the way.

Having replaced my vehicle's tyre earlier in the day, I needed to stop and check how the bolts were going, so I used this geocache as an excuse. I walked between the three waypoints and collected the required answers, although I note that at the posted coordinates, the first digit looks like it has come away, so if you know you’re looking for two digits, it should be fine.

At GZ, I was initially searching around the wrong object until I read a few past logs, then I looked around a little further away and it was only then that I understood the relevance of the hint until after making the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Speedmistress for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Too smart for me. I got a location in the next yard.

30-Oct-22
Out for a day of hunting with Cosmonaut97 and 1MinnieMoo.
This one was solved in quick order and we made the find but alas the magnet is not attached to the cache anymore and the cache has slid down! We tried a few things to get it out but nothing worked. We have placed something here for future finders which the owner can remove if they wish.

For all the geocaches we found if they needed maintenance- we did it, if it needed a new log- we placed one- if it needed a new container- we did that too. So that means this cache, as of today, is good to be found! Thanks for placing it. Some we signed with our names and Some as “GCA” which stands for Geocaching Chics Antics.

Found with 1minniemoo and saintsmadhouse today on an outing to turn these greenies into smilies. After discussing this adventure for the last month or so, we had decided that today was going to be the day....and that was about as much planning as had been completed prior to meeting up in a semi central location. From there, we had a more solid plan at least until lunch. It was a great day and I got home roughly 13 hours after I left :> We have plans for our next adventure but no dates - we'll get there :>

29/10/2022 Find #5586
It was a Girls’ caching antics day today, and although we didn’t have a KBreeAHH with us, SaintsMadHouse, Cosmonaut97 and I did have Signal the Frog standing in for her, and fully intended on a day of fun and frivolities.
After crunching our numbers we headed to Gz and soon came up with the find… kind of. What ensued was some serious Macgyvering attempts and cache maintenance here. Photos sent to CO but cache all ok to find and sign again.
We signed as GCA today to save time and space in the logbook.
Thanks for the cache speedmistress, and for maintaining it Brother Colin.

Somehow the stars had aligned and there was some sort of pupil free day that Mrs Woodyrothwell had off. Apparently they got to vote whether to work harder earlier in the year and take a day off later, or just vote to got to the pub for a schnitty and chips. Normally nothing good happens after a vote so the universe had been flipped on its head.

Suddenly we had a long weekend when there wasn’t one planned. Unlike a pregnancy you haven’t planned, an unplanned long weekend is a blessing. Actually, booking a holiday in a swanky hotel with satin linen and some silver service meals where the waiters wipe your bum in the toilet is still cheaper than having a child.

The only bad news for the long weekend was the weather. It was raining, but not teeming down. We had committed to the rain and so trouncing through a cemetery in the drizzle was right up our alley. The rain was falling fr heaven, so it was like holy water in case a vampire crept out of the ground. tftc

Heading home after a lovely day caching in Toowoomba, chamad called out there was a cache we needed to stop at. Luckily the traffic was quite slow due to a wide load ahead, so we were able to make the required lane change and exit the busy road.
Arriving at the posted co-ords, Kolour, chamad and myself went about collecting the information we needed. Visiting the different WPs, at the end we all agreed on our numbers and headed to the final. After checking one place, chamad was heading straight for something and ... hey presto ... it was the cache.
Thanks Speedmistress for the puzzle and cache.

Out caching for the day with Willis007 and Kolour, planning on hitting Redwood forest and the caches in there. Willis007 needed a couple of the challenges in there and I was just happy to go along for the ride / walk. It is such a diverse area and the environment changes so much as you walk around. after our walk we did a few along Prince Henry and then grabbed a few on the way home. It was a fun day with laughs and great conversations.

On our way home and I had this one on my list for sometime, so glad to get here and do this one. A very nice and fun cache to do. Easy to work out the coordinates and I headed over to collect. We signed the log and placed the cache as we found it. Thanks for placing it here, very nicely done and a favourite point from me.

I was going to cache around the city today but a major change of plans has seen me head west instead…

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost two years since I was here last… it appears my numbers weren’t out by much then, but just enough to make a difference…

Today after checking everything twice, and deciding I didn’t need to cross the highway I strolled to my new GZ and soon had the cache in hand…

A lovely morning out today with T@mmm collecting a few of the oldies around this part of the world, before lunch in Esk pub and an afternoon exploring Scrivener Dam and Mt Glorious - until rain set in.

This was first stop, a lovely cemetery (a great introduction to cemetery caches) and a great little final. Had a lovely chat to a lady visiting her now passed-on husband here where they used to go to church as kids walking up from Marburg. The church is now gone (moved to Marburg), and 'walking up the road' from Marburg is no longer acceptable. But the memories are clear for her as she commemorates a new year with her man of so many years. Memories indeed.

Thanks Speedmistress for entertaining me at this location.

Ok, maybe my shortcut method took longer than following the directions. Still should have trusted the GPS and not the gut instinct. This one capped off a great week of caching QLD.

Well, this journey started about 12 months or more ago, skip 2020 and we find ourselves planning a long-overdue road trip. This means one thing ... a cache run would be involved. One or two different routes where planned caches were studied, some more than others (manly puzzle styles), and a plan was hatched.

It includes the most number of puzzles we have ever solved personally, Wherigo's, and even a few 'FTF' (FTF) FTF caches. The distance that was driven is approx. 3500 km. Over some 10 days. 14km of muddy, red, and black soil 4wd only slip-sliding heart-pumping road - which we got through without incident only to get bogged a while later on the side of a tar road doing a U-turn.

The total number of caches found is yet to be determined, could also depend upon my logging them, as those who know me also know my lack of logging or length of time to do so could mean the correct total will never be shown. Still, it’s not about the numbers.

Logs have been signed with any one of the following, JABs, FWBs, TasReach, MEMO, or TR. Often depended upon who was signing the logbook, time of the day, length of the days caching run, sleep-deprived state, condition of the logbook. Penned often in the first available spot (except in the case of new cache), in between other cache's names. Hopefully to help extend the life of a logbook. The date was not often recorded, again to save room and maybe a little time.

Distance travel is undetermined, basically, fly from Hobart to Brisbane, drive northerly to Gympie, out through Gayndah, Monto to the Westwood, and then term west straight out to Longreach, with a part-day layover to collect all those 92 solved puzzles. Home is hopefully via Jericho, south through Mexico and into Blackall then down and cross to Roma, Toowoomba Brissie and fly home.

Meeting up with great family friends of ours to share part of this journey MEMO, the cache name TasReach or TR for short was born, been both Tasmania and Longreach. So wished each cache could have its own story, but in that case, I would never finish logging. So I thought a long story was better than a TFTC. But hey thanks for the cache anyway.

JABs.

TFTC. We parked up at Rosewood for the night after the short run from Lawnton. After lunch we went out for an explore around the area. Using caching as our guide. Acouple of cemeteries and the Ipswich racing precinct made for an enjoyable couple of hours.
We made a mess of our first effort. Found the wrong person. When the co-rods did not line up we went back and found our error. Final find was straightforward.

I've seen this one on the map many times and thought "I should stop there" but I never have. It was Karicka's idea to stop here today after a hike. We calculated GZ quickly but spent a while searching before Wayn0 came up with the goods. Thanks for the cache

Looked at caches to stop for between a drink at Helidon pub and the big smoke while enjoying a well-earned brew.
This came up as one that none of us three had logged.

Took a while to find it, that is what happens when one is sure "it is over there"

Thank you for this cache

On the way to Toowoomba my husband and I decided to pick up a few smileys on the way. I love fun finding speedmistress caches and can't believe I have not found this one before. We gathered the information and while I was doing the sums my husband just decided to look using his amazing geosenses and next thing I looked up and he was smiling with the cache in hand. Yippee. Especially since my sums were taking me across the freeway. Happy days. Thanks again for all the fun.

Found by Mary and David at 10:04. After a few DNFs we are delighted too have success here. A FP given even before Mary stepped out of the GeoPrado. She loves these places for the symbolism of the carved designs, and the social history in the epitaphs, on the headstones. Was it the heat, our age, our old eyes, dehydration, or any other possible excuse, but we had a couple of results for GZ, one for each of the THOMASs we found close together. Neither of them took us to a cache. We were about to leave empty-handed when David tried something and there was the cache. Still not sure where we went wrong with the numbers though. Our thanks to Speedmistress.

Tricky but hint is important plus having the right Thomas! Tyfc.

07-Jul-19
I was here yesterday, but it began to rain so I cut my search short. This morning after thinking about it came back and went straight to it and signed the log. The hint is cryptic but once you find the cache you will understand but it may not be obvious to some.
I admit I had been here before, at that time I was running out of time and only had a quick look. Also I had the same problem as others with a certain waypoint.
Speedmistress has taken me to some nice old cemeteries, this is one of them. RIP all that are here. Giving a heart for this one as it was a repeat visit

We are out caching with FelixII for the afternoon. This was a real team effort. We got a little tricked up and had to be careful with our answers for young Thomas. Once we had the final co-ords there was more searching to be done. Once we widened the search we located the tricky hide. The log was wet Mr FelixII gave the hide some much needed TLC. The cache is now all set to go again
Thanks for the interesting cache and clever hide

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us. Wink

Stopping a few days in Marburg to explore the local area and catch up with El_Peregrinos. Grabbed a few caches after setting up camp.

Gathered all the info then realised we too had made an error at the beginning. [:o)] [B)] Surprised Retracing our steps that was soon fixed up and we were at our GZ. Well it seems the GPSr settled but it took a while so we searched in the wrong place initially but soon enough had the cache in hand. Did a little maintenance whilst here and also added a new log.

Nice fun cache thanks. Wink

We were on our way heading from Brisbane to Toowoomba today and decided to take a break here. Areas like this often very interesting to wander around and this one was no exception. Some history here! We did our homework and found the information needed and soon had the cache in hand. The log was slightly damp. We returned it afterwards to its safe place.
Thanks for the detour and the cache,

Out caching with Nurseyjulie on the Ekka public holiday. This one was on the right side of the road as we headed back to Brisbane. We took the turnoff and soon parked the car. Before I could make it to GZ, Nurseyjulie was calling out the required number and was on her way to the next waypoint. We wandered the cemetery, collecting the required information. Then we calculated where the final was. That doesnt seem right. A bit of thought had us checking along a line and I soon had the cache in hand. I added our names to the log book, wondering how we had miscalculated. I decided to go back and check the information that we had gathered. Turns out that we had collected the wrong information at WP1! Now it all makes sense. Thanks for the cache and the clever little puzzle Smile

10-Aug-16
A meet up with Selva Girls and a drive out this way for Ekka Holiday. She navigated whilst I drove to the caches. We had taken all the clues and tried to make the numbers work. We too decided to take a bearing from the one set of co-ords and we discovered the cache. We were still scratching our heads when I decided to check WP1 again. Ah Ha... would help if we actually were at the right GZ and the right person's age that was there! TFTC Speedmistress

using our phone to cache for the first time today, this was also our fist multi! A bit tricky going from wp to wp, but we worked it out in the end, and as I walked around to go and help find the final cache, I found it on the way! Thanks for the cache today Speedmistress - interesting, and a good hide!

What a beautiful cemetery. Tough cache. This was my 2nd attempt. Easy this time. I have a lot more cachez under my belt so now i think like a cacher. Love the hide.

I received a call on the Batphone that SNJ was headed out this way today for some cache that fits the bill for a crazy challenge cache. While that didn't interest me too much, I do accept any chance to go caching! We had a cracker afternoon going up hill and down dale, and enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks to all the cache owners!
We made this one a lot harder than it had to be!. Took us a while to find the container, but eventually we came up trumps. Thanks for the cache SM!

I was chasing once cache in particular today and invited Swellerfungus to join me on my journey. Despite the weather looking a bit threatening we ended up doing a tour around Laidley, Clarendon, Lowood and Marburg, grabbing a number of caches along the way including this one. We managed to get one answer wrong to start with but that was quickly rectified. The search then still took a while as we located GZ but our initial search of the expected hiding location was unsuccessful. It was only after some time and a recheck of all answers that we returned to the same spot and through a fluke Swellerfungus moved something slight which revealed we had been right all along. TFTC

Believe it or not, Google was our friend here, and we had the puzzle solved before we left home. It looked good on Google Maps, too, so all we had to do was front up and, well, that should be it. As it was beginning to get quite dark, we were glad that was the case. Found at 5.25 pm on 29th July 2015. TFTC.

Thanks for the wonder around this gorgeous old cemetery though. Hope to come back & grab a smile one day.

For the second day in a row plan A was abandoned due to the weather. I don't enjoy riding in the rain, and it wrecks the trails anyway. Plan B was take the raincoat and brolly and go fond some caches. Smile

Not sure what the local across the road must have thought of the person wandering about the grave yard in the pouring rain as they arrived home. I can't have worried them too much because they did not come and see what I was doing.

I found the necessary graves quite quickly and was soon headed to GZ. The good old $4 golf brolly from Ikea was doing a great job keeping me dry.

I do enjoy old grave yards, and having spent the day cruising around the general area it was interesting to see the same names on the road signs. Big Grin
