Cache and Owner are gone.....

15-Aug-14
Its there.... go down the stairs. Its not at shop level

12-Jul-14
I had a good look, but didn't really want to spend too much time scrabbling around amongst cigarette butts. I'm sure it's there, somewhere.

09-Jun-14
DNF. Tough to tell if we were in the right area with the phone's GPS getting to within 15 metres.

25-Apr-14
Had a great look for this but no luck.

Was not overly encouraged by the previous logs, especially ones that attempted it with previous finders and still had no luck.

22-Apr-14
Hovered around the edge of the car park for a bit to get best fix GPS gave up about 16m out. It's difficult to tell if I was even searching in the right place. Again to many muggles to have decent look. Don't think I'll bother with this one.

11-Apr-14
Didn't have a long look. Lots of locals and judging on past lookers didn't waste a lot of time

05-Apr-14

05-Apr-14
A geomission was planned with Rapidlywild and specimenX and as no one in the group had collected any smileys down the coast the location was decided. The week of wet weather threatened for the mission to be cancelled, however the rain eased and the mission was going ahead. We awoke to overcast skies and headed off down the highway ready for a big adventure and big day, some of the group with sleepy eyes. Thanks again ladies for great day and lots of laughs we are looking forward to our next one. TFTC

We all searched high and low and with four sets of eyes searching, we still couldn't locate this one. The CO may need check to see if it still in place.

05-Apr-14
Searched high and low with 4 sets of eyes for this one. Spent quite sometime looking but unfortunately we had to call it quits and walk away empty handed on this. Don't like DNF's on weekend adventures however its all part of the fun Smile

18-Mar-14
I couldn't find this geocache, maybe I'll have better luck next time!

08-Oct-13
Only had 5 minutes so couldn't look properly.

07-Oct-13
Couldn't find it

22-Sep-13
Had a quick look with somebody who found it before, it is missing or it is moved. The coords are about 20 meters out (into the underground garage)

18-Jul-13
No way............. too too many places to search and 18 metres from GZ. Not this time Smile

30-Jun-13
Looked for ages still couldn't find Sad

30-Jun-13
Although we looked and looked there was no joy here. We were fairly confident we were looking in the right places but the rubbish put us off a bit. The cleaner was very friendly though but he was busy cleaning the lights.

04-May-13
Cleaned around the cache ...Its still there

26-Apr-13
Too hard. Even with help from a passer by.

12-Apr-13
Too tricky for us. Sad

06-Apr-13
tftc! it is still there... don't overthink it! xela came up with find.

31-Dec-12
DNF, not our preferred type of location to snoop around.
Nice shopping area, got lots of cheap yummy food at Aldi supermarket.

DNF despite using a bit of Geo-Logic.......as ha been stated by numerous other cachers the GPS was totally useless about 20 mts from GZ. I suspect we were in the right spot.....but refuse to go digging through rubbish in the vague hopes of finding a cache......Funny....I had thought that Geocaching was all about using yor GPS........???

26-Dec-12
I too found just rubbish in the spot I thought it would be and lost interest after that. Not super crash hot on the idea of trawling and feeling around a muggle-rich carpark anyway. If it wasn't for the history lesson, this would really be a cache for the sake of it. Will be leaving for Sydney tomorrow without regrets for missing out on this one.

26-Dec-12
No luck today. Muggles everywhere! TFTC anyway. Smile

26-Dec-12
Not a lot impressed with the idea of losing GPS signal while 15-20m from GZ. Didn't find it and won't bother looking for it again. I just wish I 'd found it so this didn't sound like sour grapes.

10-Nov-12
TFTC Great location.

03-Nov-12
DNF, even though we're pretty sure we were in the right spot Sad I like the idea of having a cache that you have to use indirect methods to find, but sorting through rubbish to try and find the cache isn't much fun.... But then again, maybe we weren't in the right spot lol

26-Oct-12
Grumble... when planting a cache well underneath the access for a GPS, one really ought to give decent hints and/or directions, as this could be an exceptional waste of time.

It's funny, really, as publications are supposed to be limited for traditional caches to ones that the GPS coordinates actually take the cacher to... in this case, service with GPS is lost some 25 m before GZ is able to be reached.

Perhaps better hints or further directions?

We looked in the logincal spot that was well protected, to no avail.

Abandonned, with dinner awaiting.

14-Oct-12
GPS certainly was of little assistance except to get the general location. We were just about to give when bluemen barnicles there it was.

15-Sep-12
Heaps of muggers around still had a quick look with no luck this time will look again in in the bay

03-Sep-12
Poo

05-Aug-12
Grabbed whilst the muggles were clearly all sleeping in...9am, and this place is dead quiet! I like!

Nice history behind it as well Smile

04-Aug-12
Yet another late night caching run in the bay. TFTC.

21-Jul-12
Well hidden but watch out for muggles.. they are everywhere.

20-Jul-12
Lots of hiding from muggles to find this one clue on your knees

03-Jul-12
Tracked down GZ and found the entrances however it was a busy time of the day and muggles everywhere. Had a quick look and there was lots of litter where I suspect the cache to be. As teachers we were interested to see where the school once stood. We were not prepared to remove the litter or try to extract the cache for fear of being sprung, and we had limited time. May have another try on our next visit Thanks derf10

21-May-12
A couple of kiwis on a quick visit. Must remember to avoid multis and "tricky" hides when only have a little bit of time. Rest of Batemans bay to see

18-May-12
Finally!!! After 2 other failed attempts i was very happy to grab this sneaky hide... Some kind guidence from Stormcatchers put me in the rough location of where i needed to be..
Many thanks derf10 for tricky hide...
Took tb..

23-Apr-12
After yesterday's effort, thought i would push bike in from sunshine bay and try this again.. @6:20am in the morning there were no muggles anywhere, i had the place to myself Smile
However, after an extended search i came up empty handed and very dissapointed... Might need a little guidence on this one..

22-Apr-12
Whilst picking up some essentials at one of the multiple shops closeby, I clearly picked the wrong time to grab this.. Muggles everywhere.. Will attempt this at a quietier time...

18-Apr-12
Ill join dnfs although did pace out THE spot and check a number of potential hides, focussing on expected spot and those relatively rubbish free given the recent clean up. Great concept. Thanks

08-Apr-12
Cleaned a bit of rubbish from around the cache.

24-Mar-12
Decided to get out of Canberra for the weekend and take the caravan down to Batemans Bay. We tried to find this one and found the general area where we thought it might be, but despite a long search we came away empty handed.

22-Feb-12
After meeting BBJohn at a previous cache, and armed with a strong hint for this one, I still had no luck. Not too many options, so it must be a clever hide!

Thanks for the history, derf10, and thanks BBJohn for the lift!

08-Feb-12
In the bay for our annual coast holiday. While our two muggle friends headed to find us a table at Hogs Breath we quickly headed over to GZ to get our cache for the day. Mr Stormcatcher approached from the correct angle and came up with the find quickly. We left TB for the next finder. After signing the log we had to wait for the muggle cleaner to move on before replacing the cache. Thanks Derf10 for the cache.

13-Jan-12
Been wanting to do this one for a while. Like other our GPS had difficulties near GZ so there was some guessing involved. Fould heaps of garbage in similar hiding places, but finally came up with the goods.

Nice easy find - my favourite!

05-Jan-12
Found with little red shoes & Kleo. Managed to avoid the muggles!!

22-Dec-11

11-Dec-11

Found at 9:04:28 AM GAFF3. We were able to find a great parking spot for our van just around the corner. A short walk past Rivers (must buy some of those $9.95 s/sleeve T shirts btw) and we were at the entrance to the shopping centre. We then worked out what to do, but unfortunately our GPSr's said you had to go 33 metres in - so we did! Found nothing, came out, had a look at the GPS and one of them suddenly said 7 metres! Now that is much better.
Thanks derf10 - a nice hide.

06-Dec-11
Tried hard

05-Dec-11
Nice one

19-Oct-11
Could see the likely type of hiding place, but wasn't too keen to poke through rubbish with my 5 year old. Back to the shopping ...

08-Oct-11
Oh dear. More disgusting hidey holes? May try again tomorrow.

08-Oct-11
Way quicker this morning. I had the right concept, now I had the right zone. Still a bit gross though! Smile

30-Sep-11
6th on a long weekend of fishing and caching!

Looking for this cache was made a little easier due to the time of night. Could be very tricky through the day with the high muggle activity in the area. Had a good search and was getting a little frustrated until allrounder expanded the search area and came up with the find.

TFTC

30-Sep-11
Found @ 9:15pm with hccatcher11415 on our trip to the bay for the long weekend

Searched for this one after buying some supplies for the weekend. Checked a few spots before I came up with the goods.

Thanks for the tricky one Derf10!

07-Sep-11
GPS had me going all over the place here, but the cryptic clue gave me hope.
I had checked about 4 of these places and given up, but on my way out...........woohoo, there it was.
Thanks again derf10

20-Aug-11
Quick find while killing time waiting to watch a movie. Yes, VERY sticky and smelly. Don't want to think about what that could have been!

15-Jul-11
Once gps indicated an entry point, cache was surprisingly quick to hand. Awfully sticky though… now where are those wetwipes? Ewww!

15-Jul-11
#4 Found on the the last leg of a trip to Canberra & the south coast. TFTC!

10-Jul-11
Geo wife found with lateral thinking & great use of new technology. Pity there are so many litter bugs about. Thanks for a great cache.

This is certainly well protected! We made a quick find after using this hint, and then headed on up to Coles to get something for dinner!

TFTC! SL. TNLN.

27-Apr-11
No luck with this one.. was hard not to be to sus with SO many vehicles about.... but even after climbing around, searching high and low.. we came up empty handed >.

06-Apr-11
found with fungoddess. almost gave up on this one. not where we first thought it would be. found just as we were leaving.....thank you

01-Mar-11
Looked and looked,GPS no help at all, and where we thought was a likely place was fenced off. Have to admit defeat on this one.

24-Feb-11
The second one of Bay Histories that we couldn,t find. GPS went off and there were so may placesit could have been. Maybe we,ll get back when it,s quieter. Silky Seekers

02-Feb-11
The GPS wasn't much use on this one. While the others started the food shopping we ducked out and were there and back in 15 minutes (although I wouldn't say the find was a walk in the park). After wandering and pondering, some guessing and a bit of luck the cache was found by the_proton and we made it back in time to pick the ice-cream.

02-Feb-11
Flying blind without decent GPS reception lead to searching around a lot of areas that were a bit off. Then it was time to look further afield from the GPSr location and came up with the cache fairly quickly.

19-Jan-11
#565, found at 17:51.

Coords were 21m off... found it eventually.

TFTC and regards,
the Monacos

16-Jan-11
Found on a pleasant weekend down the coast after deciding to get out of town for a few days

11-Jan-11
Finally found this one after quite a bit of searching. A very clever hide.

The gps was a littke out with this one and muggles everywhere but we found it in the end.this was are second attempt at this as we tried to find it two years ago while on holidays with no luck so happy to put this one on the found list

03-Jan-11
This one took a while. Kept going back out to the street to let the gps start again. Found it with my son James & Jett & Tea Well actually James found it not me

30-Dec-10
Came back this morning with very few muggles which were much better than yesterday crazy heaps of muggles and impossible to find a car park..
Very happy to put a smiley face on...
thanks for the hunting and cache

02-Dec-10
Gps was of no use to us with this one. It was all over the place so in the end we just started looking in possible places in the area and eventually came up with the goods. Thanks.

20-Nov-10
After 5 searches (on my own and with geoson/friends) including being escorted to shops by security I had to call on derf10. Can't believe I walked passed GZ on every search. Am now a very happy geocacher. Thanks derf10

18-Nov-10
This still baffles me but I won't give up. Maybe its my inexperience.

05-Oct-10
Quick find with many muggles around. SL TFTC

26-Sep-10
Well this one was originally quite confusing. Could not figure out where the cache was, and the GPS seemed to want to take me inside the shops. Fortunately it was late on a Sunday evening after the shops were closed, so no muggles meant plenty of opportunity to search.

A quick look at the clue was in order after no luck finding it - after that, the cache was in hand readily.

What a devious hide! Well done derf10. Cheers.

29-Aug-10
Found after a little search and early in the morning while free of muggles. Thanx

31-Jul-10
Saturday lunch time was not the best time to attempt this cache!

We drove by and did not even stop when we figured where GZ was.

03-Jul-10
AHA!!!! finally i have found this one. Where it was, was so easy to find i just cant believe that i had checked everywhere around this spot and never thought to check here.

TFTF

30-Jun-10
I was full of a little anxiety approaching GZ, but by the time I had managed to find a parking spot, I was certain I had unravelled the clue.
Sure enough, I was on the money ! Big Grin
Thanks for the cache, derf10 ! Big Grin

16-May-10
Didn't find it, looked twice. Was fealling positive the second time after a micro cache find but it didn't help Very Happy

16-May-10
Could not figure it out

06-May-10
Again thanks to owner for give me advice. Took Geocoin. SL. thanks derf10

05-May-10
why - "Gz co-ordinates are not where the cache is". It make me so hard look - It is Traditional should be perfect coordinate. so email to the owner for his advice. Thanks.

18-Apr-10
#577 - We were in the Bay for the weekend as Katastrophy was canoeing down the Clyde from Shallow Crossing.
We remember attending a school fete at the Primary school during a visit over 20 years ago. Quite a big event!
Our GPS had us check a couple of spots before we discovered the actual location. Easy find once we were in the right place.
Pleased to report the GC is still in the cache.
We were spotted (tell-tale GPS) leaving ground zero by bbayjohn, and we had a quick chat about caching. (Nice to meet a local team Smile ). TFTC

07-Apr-10
On a campervan road trip around the South East of Australia after attending the Megga event in Wagga Wagga.

This was one of the caches we found on our journey.

TFTC

Nice find by ME haha. Having fun as the sun sets caching all day long. Dropped squid geocoin who wants to be by the beach and will log inventory in a few hours. If you pick up coin before then just wait untill inventory is logged.
Found with GUIO and flyfar.
