Found with SSRAT AND GOOSE, we had to venture a little further than i would normally think, BUT what an ENTRANCE and we found the basic but clever hide in plaint sight The boys were in Australia for a few days and planned a big trip to smash some smilies over a cpl states and about 4000 lga's !! Lots of laughs had and we didnt even kill each other after 4 days TFTC

Day 1 of our trip and this one was another quick find by us before adding our names and then replacing as found and then moving on to the next on the shortlist. This was a mainland trip from Tassie to do a couple of things, we wanted to grab a few LGAs and also the big item was to finish of the DT grid of 1Toolman.We landed late on Wednesday night and after a good night at the Melbourne Novotel Toolman picked up and drove us North for four days of caching before he brought us back on Sunday night, we had a great time with lots of caching and lots of laughs.Found on 24/10/2024 at 17:28:00 thanks to Brad&Janet for placing this cache for me to find. The best caches I have found so far are:-Sentimental [Moorgreen P3:1, Penny Pincher](http://coord.info/GC32Z5B) By [Sven&Cup](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=6596795)Traditional [Hanging Around in Toorak](http://coord.info/GC62KAP) By [bobthebuilder_123](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=586681)Multi [Gawler Fort Knox](https://coord.info/GC5T0W1) By [**JEM**](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=11449141)Unknown [Men In Black Holes](http://coord.info/GC1DVB0) By [SG-3](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=918045) Letterbox [Rolf's Letterbox](http://coord.info/GC5NCYM) By [membsec](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=5318842)Earthcache [Totem Pole](https://coord.info/GC862H8) By [The Hancock Clan](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=263428)Visit the [Geocaching Tasmania Facebook group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/318455407771/)Member of the [Tas_Community](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=25086739) maintenance group.

Well I'd heard a lot about the place, but today there was nothing to hear except the passing cars and trucks at WP1 and GZ The place was deserted and we were happy about that! We poked around a bit until the cache was found. We couldn't visit the town without taking in the sights/site it's known for and this cache certainly helped.Fav point! Thanks Brad&JanetOur four day boys trip was an 1800km dash from Melbourne Airport into southern parts of NSW, caching in 19 different LGAs. After an overnight near Melbourne airport, the toolman picked us up and we were off. Overnight stops were in Deniliquin, Ariah Park and Albury with a small selection of caches in each LGA unless there some more exciting ones to make us hang around a bit longer. The toolman finally filled his D/T grid. Lots of laughs, lots of insults, a good number of caches, but not enough sleep! Thanks to all the COs that made the trip a fun adventure. One of many stops on Day 1 of our road trip from Maryborough Vic to Maryborough Qld. We got as far as Narrandera after a good day exploring along the way. We enjoyed this GZ. Fave point for the hide. TFTC

12-Jul-24
On our way to West Wyalong, we stopped for a cache break. We photographed the clues and headed off for coffee while working out the coordinates. So glad we took the photos as we took the COs questions a little too seriously and realised that our calculations were wrong. A quick re think and we had the correct solution and at GZ made a quick find. Great cache. Favourite point from us.

Found with the kids as part of our central NSW school holiday road trip! A ripper little multi here. We had to look further afield at the cache site but the hint soon made sense and a cleverly crafted cache was in hand. Fav added.

I am so glad to finally sign my name in this cache with Cybergran V. We here here, both her and I a couple of years back and had a wow of a time in Deni.We gathered all the required information for this multi, but when we got to gz, we just couldn't find the cache. Well, here we are today chauffeuring around dalerious for a change, whilst us girls made a mends on our last visit. The hide and the location are awesome, and this cache is well deserving of a favourite point, which I have given.Thank you Blatherskite for creating this multicache, and Brad&Janet for taking over the reins.

Another loop around town but not my thing but no doubt a driver in a Ute would enjoy. Tftn.

Canberra GeoBash DashDay Seven: Wagga Wagga to Barham. Weather: Rain!!!Im in Deniliquin and Im in a Ute, so this cache is more or less compulsory, right? Its well after dark, but I make a start, and just kept going to the finish. The first obstacle was telling the difference between yellow and white in the dark. The second was hesitation about how far I could go at GZ, but in the end I was emboldened by the 24/7 attribute. A quick find of a decent sized cache. It would be very interesting to pass through town when all this is in full swing. Thanks for the cache Blatherskite and to Brad&Janet for keeping it in play.

Day 7 - homeward bound. I miss my bed, I miss my shower, do I miss my family yeah sure We drove off early into the sunrise - literally! It was very blinding, luckily I cleaned the windscreen before we left. We took our time driving back and picking up a few caches along the way. There were some well done caches and great little towns discovered which made me think I could stay on the road longer, but nah, Ill save that feeling up for next time. This cache: Nice easy multi. Love the final for more ways than one. Great spot, great hide!! Tftc!!!

Day 11 of our west to east adventure - Swan Hill to Narrandera today. Stopped in Deni for a wander around town, and picked up the details for this multi. A slight detour passed GZ heralded a longer search than I fancied, but my mark was added to the log eventually. Many thanks for this fun multi Blatherskite (adopted by Brad&Janet). FP added.

In town for the day, and completed the labs, this multi and 1 trad.Collected the required information to answer each question, then did the calculations.Searched for some time, before finally finding the well hidden cache container.Added our name to the log, and sighted one trackable.Awesome town, and a favourite point from us.Many thanks Brad&Janet for adopting this cache, for us and others to find.

I'm doing a quick road trip to the Western Riverina this week specifically for the purpose of finding 4 caches, one in each of the only local government areas I am yet to visit in the 9 years I've been playing this game ... Leeton, Murrumbidgee, Berrigan and Edward River. This is my Edward River find, and it marks the completion of my NSW counties challenge ... I have now found a cache in all of NSW's 129 Council areas! And I like that I finished with this one, because it's a very enjoyable multi that finishes with a really good hide ... you can't say that about most finds you make! So, as much for the cache as for the occasion, the cache is getting a big fave point from me.My thanks go to Blatherskite for creating this multi and to Brad&Janet for keeping it going.

I was very pleased to visit Deniliquin today. Gorgeous sunshine and an interesting multi with a great hide. The muster ended 2 weeks ago but the pubs have not been drunk dry. Many thanks for maintaining Brad and Janet.A favourite point and a new LGA for me

On a relaxed road trip with no specific plans we landed in Deniliquin. We really enjoyed the town, the walking tracks, the town gardens and camping on the river. This was our last cache before driving on. We could see lots of preparation around town for the Ute Muster next weekend. Our timing was fortunate. Thank you for an excellent cache.

With a huge portion of the Victorian caching community enjoying their pilgrimage north to Longreach, chook(nchunk) and I decided to plan our own little mini-adventure, targetting adlabs, solved puzzles, faves, TDOCs and anything else that piques our interest along the way. Day One: Seymour, Nagambie, Shepparton, Echuca, Deniliquin. Silver sign is no longer at posted coords, but managed to find the answers via other methods. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Brad&Janet ~ ~

Departing Melbourne the other day and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully Smile), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel. Leaving Mathoura this morning and travelling through Deniliquin, Hay, Darlington Point and Griffith. I was hoping to get to Condobolin this afternoon but only managed Tullibigeal, I'll be heading off in the morning, north again Smile.
A quick solve of the clues and the a quick find at an epic GZ.

#17437 - 8:17:00 PM; Day 1 of the Rutherglen Mega mission. The plan for the day is to head to Deniliquin via Wagga, The Rock, Lockhart, Jerilderie, Conargo and Wandanella, adding a few counties to the tally along the way. All up 16 cache finds, 21 Adventure Labs and 4 DNFs. All caches were found in good condition and replaced as found. Well and truly dark as I gathered the required information and headed to GZ. Searched high and low before reinterpreting the hint and making the find. A fave for the effort here! Apologies for the largely generic logs! TFTC Brad&Janet Smile

After the CITO in Shepparton last night and an early morning swim in the Campaspe River then a 7am event, it was off on a day of LGA exploring in NSW. Having not cached or explored much over the border, today was the day for it.

I initially struggled to get the coordinates to work, however I soon discovering not all the letters on one of the number plates counted… ignore the smaller words.

I headed out to what looked like a much more plausible location but ended up searching the wrong objects initially. Once I changed position the cleverly hidden cache was located. A favourite point for your efforts on this one.

Thanks Brad&Janet for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

As we drove around town doing the new adventure lab in town we came across this multi, an oldie but great to see a local South Aussie looking after it, once at GZ, the nicely hidden cache was found and is in good condition

Day 3 of our trip from Adelaide to Sydney with Courtneyrose_ , today we made our way from Echuca to Corowa detouring the back roads out to Deniliquin and back to Victoria to complete a few of the wherigo series near Rutherglen.

Thanks for the cache

Found two in Demi this afternoon. Both impressed me with the hide quality. This being the second to get a fave point. Now if I could just figure out where the cache is on that blessed Ute! I guess I’ll be back. Btw…my room at the Riviana Motel is awesome and not expensive…and my meal at the Globe Hotel was very nice indeed. Tftc.

Very clever cache. Trust you instincts. Admire the gate. Ignore the gate.

We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Due to medical issues, I am no longer able to maintain this cache.
If anyone wishes to adopt it and maintain it, please do so.

It is regrettable that this cache has fallen off the searching in Deniliquin as it was quite a popular one with 30 favourites

I understand that a Museum has been built in the vicinity of GZ and the area has changed the final location some distance.

Someone, someday will place a new cache here to keep the tradition going.

This cache is still there.
The needs maintenance log while reasonable is incorrect regarding the cache being missing. Any works in the area have not affected the cache or the hide.
The CO @Blatherskite can clear the NM.

As others have stated the calculations seem to take you to a point which is some distance from the cache.

By our measurements the actual cache was approximately 66.5 metres at a bearing of 36.245 degrees from our calculated final (assuming we got everything correct!)

The hint is helpful.

Brad is based in Deniliquin for a week as part of the emergency services multi-agency team providing medical support to the disaster flood relief. We are based at the Deni Ute Muster site but we have traveled out to locations such as Moulamein, Tooleybuc, and Goodnight. Some devastating sites and some great work being done by RFS and others.

At either end of some busy days grabbing some local caches has been good to help unwind.

This is an excellent hide (which may explain why some others have failed to find it), and a very nice container Blatherskite.

Went to WPs 1 and 2, got the numbers and did the calculations.
Headed to GZ on a wet and windy morning.
The phone was pointing me about 15m from any rusty posts so I ignored that and checked the posts. No luck.
Read some previous logs that indicated the cache was 50m from the calculated coordinates. So I checked the posts at the other gateway but still nothing.
A car drove out of the complex, pulled up next to me and the bloke inside asked if I was looking for a geocache. He said they'd seen people pull up and not find anything. He reckons that it got moved when they re-did/moved the fence/gates.
So it looks like this one will need to be replaced.

05-Oct-22
Apparently the fence/gates at GZ have been changed and the cache gone with it.
See log below.

I enjoyed that! Fun, logical and not to challenging. My first ever find!

Found by Mary and David at at 14:00. We do love a multi when time is on our side. May have had a number wrong, as our GZ was a good 50m off. We did have to google Q4, asnwe were unable to find the answer on site.Used a PAF and were pointed in the right direction. Loved the clever hide and the destination, which earn a FP. Our thanks to Blatherskite.

Find # 11074

Once again I was back up in Parkes for work.
After 2 Long weeks it was home time.
Left Parkes at 1100 and got home just on 2100.
A couple of cache grabs that were still closeish to the main road gave me locations to aim for to break the trip up. Yep it was a long 10 hour solo drive but it felt so good to be heading home.

Another cache i had been given hints on. And this had taken me the 3 passings to get the numbers for.... ( 2 passings when i travelled up to and home from Parkes back in Jan) and the 4th pass to get the cache.
Thankfully no one was around GZ, so i could get the cache than take a snap of the ute while here too

Found It!
Question 4 caused some confusion but eventually I got a WP2 that seemed to work. A quick visit to that confirmed I had the correct GZ location. But when I got there I found it was a bare patch of dirt. Using the hint and past logs, I found the cache about 50m to the north of where the GPS was taking me.

Continuing through Deniliquin to Yass, NSW.

After gathering the numbers last night, and aborting bacause of bad light, we came back today. Yes, coordinates are out. Need to be behind the large sculptured gates.

Clever cache. A Favourite awarded for the total experience.

Today is the start of our journey back to QLD with geo friends, RoddyC, hatzofff and grannysmith1947. (All logs stamped 4 for QLD)
On arrival at GZ we couldn't spot anything that fitted the clue until a local stopped and asked what we were looking for. When we explained geocaching to her she said now I know what all the other people are doing but they all seem to be looking at the big gates. Decided to widen our search and it was hatzofff who eventually found the great hide. Very well done CO, a favourite point from me.

Utey Bwedy - after admiring the whole impressive kaboodle and getting some numbers that might fir I headed off on two wheels in the cool morning. In the end geologic got me to the spot and the first post I looked at revealed a nice prize. Found a range of caches as I heading to Mildura today. After completing the first stage it was a quick stop at the confirmation point before heading to GZ. I'm unsure why the coords here are so far out, but nevertheless once I had read the hint, the description, wandered round a bit, read previous comments, reread the description: The cache was finally located. Then I was on my way. Thanks for the cache, and im pretty sure my 100th multi. yay!

It is now June 2023 and we found taht we hadn't logged this cache from our trip in November 21

We are finally out of our lock down and are making the most of it by catching up with friends traveling via different lab caches that we haven't found. We had a quick overnight stop in Swan Hill and decided to do this one as we are now heading towards Wagga Wagga picking up any caches that aren't too far off the road.

We did quite a few fireworks displays for the ute muster over the years so this one really interested us. We enjoyed collecting the information as well as the area it was in. We then headed off to gz where we were took awhile to find the well hidden cache and add our name to the log.

Thanks for keeping this one going.

Both us girls are born and bred in deni. The cache is not as obvious as made out to be in comments but does make complete sense once found. Is a very good hide though.

Happy that we are finally logging this one! Started working out the questions last night, got WP1 and decided to call it a night. After a sleep, we got back to it, visited said WP, worked out coords to GZ pretty easily, arrived to find that the coords must be out because there was nowhere to hide a cache of such size described. Muggles everywhere trying to capture photos were also a hindrance. Home we went with our tails between our legs. Sat down and had a good read through all the previous comments and had an ah-ha moment. Waited until dusk, then out we went again, this time retrieving the cache pronto! Fantastic multi worth a fave. Traveling through town on our way home from a camping trip on the Darling River. After driving out to our calculated gz we thought we were in the right area but there was something slightly astray. We widened our search to where we thought the cache might be hidden but alas came up with nothing. With not enough time to review our error we will have to try again next time!

Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache Blatherskite!

Spending a little time in Deniliquin today, we just had to go for this one cache as we are driving our new wheels interstate for the first time. Worked out the answers, re-checked and confirmed at the next WP and off we went to a place that was not too far out of the way for where we were headed today.
GZ had us right where we parked our wings but we were able to adjust this once we read the hint.
Thanks for this fun lesson in recent Aussie history!

Headed out on a 10-day trip to outback NSW with fitzy_1965 and albida33.

Day 9 saw us heading from Deniliquin to Finley via some more back roads. In logs, we signed as MK, F65 & A33.

A quick gather of information at both WP's made for a quick find at GZ today.

We actually worked on this one last week while we were passing through town and decided to time constraints to grab it on our return trip back through Deni. This one was a little out from my co-ord's l had worked out but the hint soon had us on the right track and had the cache in hand . Awesome hide Blatherskite! a very fitting hide for an interesting cache. Well worth a fave point from us, thanks for the multi and the hide.

We've known about the "Ute Muster" and seen it on TV and now we have been to the places where it all happens!
This multi was a bit tough due to a three reasons.
First of all the Rego plate question. Which rego plate? There are two of them! Also do you count every single letter on the plate or just the letters of the "personalised name" on the plate? Well we found out that it is the yellow plate on the drivers side and you only count the letters in the personalised name.
Second issue - why go to the second WPT? All of the information for the final is available from the first WPT!
Third issue - the co-ords are 63 metres out and you need to read the hint to find the cache!!!
Now we see why so many previous cachers have had problems with this cache.
Thanks Blatherskite.

We have explored the area reading signs and gathering information, then it was time to test our mathematical abilities. Apparently they are not good, we rechecked and came up with the same answer so we did what any good geocacher would do we looked for the obvious object mentioned in the hint and found the nicely hidden cache. We have given this cache a favourite point for taking us to interesting places, learning about an event that we have heard about but did not know the history of and then to GZ, what an amazing structure. There were details issues but thanks to other logs & the hints we found GZ. TFTC

Took geokid to this cache as he wasn’t there when it found it originally. In great condition, one of our favourites.

**This Cache:**

Loved this cache! Have never been to Deniliquin before, and had no idea about this famous "Ute Muster" event! My parents have though when I told them all about this cache!

One of the answers had two possibilities, but only one worked, and another answer was not obtainable on site. I couldn't even find it on Google, but luckily DSD came in clutch and found it on Wikipedia, not sure how I missed that!

We got to GZ and our coordinates still ended up being about 50 metres out..... so not sure what was wrong there, however considering the limited possibilities the cache was still able to be found after a 5 minute search of the perimeter Smile

Thanks! a FP from me for the location and history

**Today:**

Day 4 of the St. Arnaud mega with DSD and ZQX!

It was time to head all the way home today, via a completely different route, in parts of Australia that none of us have ever visited before! All in the name of grabbing some counties! We went through Northern Victoria up to Echuca, and then over the NSW border to Moama, through Deniliquin, Finley, Jerilderie, Narranderra and finally Coolamon and Wagga Wagga before heading home to Canberra! A very productive day collecting counties, with a few high D/T caches mixed in, and even a bonus virtual!

It was a long day with many km's and about 15 hours total on the road, it was good to get home and crash for the night!

Thanks to all the CO's for making it possible

Found with DarkSideDan (the path tag man) and Loci612.
We were enjoying a fun little adventure, driving back to Canberra.
My first time in Deniliquin. I'd never heard about the Ute Muster until I did this cache.
We had trouble finding one of the numbers at the location, and had to draw on the free-but-binding services of a sophisticated a web-crawler.
TFTC!

Day 6 of our journey from Innes Park Qld to st Arnaud. Early start this morning as we need to be in st Arnaud by 4pm at the latest. Loved the drive from hay to St Arnaud. Logs that were to small for my youngoldfella I used my normal signature of YOF. Did the calculations and went fort a drive. Thanks for the additional hint. Quick find once at GZ. Big gates and I made it through the middle. All good here. TFTC

How could anyone not be lured in with this multi when you see the start. With all the calculations done we were happy with the final, till we got there. For some reason, probably mathematical on our part, we were close but not quite where we thought. So we gave ourselves a large search area. Didn't find the cache immediately but we did find it. An excellent multi to highlight Deni's claim to fame. TFTC Blatherskite, FP from us.

Jerilderie on the way to our overnight stop at Deniliquin.
From here we stopped for caches along the road where it was suitable to stop with the caravan on.
Overnight we had a fantastic camp along the river bank. Hubby took his bike to do caches along the rivers edge.
Collected the information needed at WPT1 & WPT2 then moved to our final location. We have heard of the Ute Muster over many years but never had the opportunity to attend.
At least we have now been to the gate. Cache was found after a search. FP given
Thankyou for placing this cache Blatherskite

Had trouble getting the answer to question 3 . we had already worked out A as equaling one so by our assumption D had to be between 10 and 19 but after counting the letters numerous times we counted 25+ on one and 28+ on the other . so we gave up trying and drove out to a likely location and soon after arriving had the cache in hand.

On a very cold and blustery day we decided to grab a few caches. We must have got a number wrong but with help of hints the cache was quickly in hand. Well constructed cache and great iconic location. Tftc

Left Adelaide heading for the V8's at Winton, what a better way to seek a few Yellow faces along our route.
Some have been interesting as others not so, but without having a go we wouldn't have been brought to those special places in the Geocaching World.
Got the math wrong so did the search on instinct and came up a winner.
Found in the LAST place we looked.
Thank to the CO for maintaining these hides and getting us out of the car.

We always enjoy a Multi-cache and so with this one having been recommended to us we called by to undertake it today. We found the numbers required at the waypoints given and then with our GPS updated with the corrected co-ordinates we continued on towards Ground Zero where the very nice cache container was soon located. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for the hide! Greetings from Zimbabwe

TFTC,
4 - 10 today. Today was our spare day from a weeks Golf on the Murray and we are trying to cache in Council areas we have not visited yet. Didn't find the Red Ute. We were able to work out the final location of the cache and will have to go back one day to see it. Visited trackables and added a favourite.

An interesting multi, didn't see the Red Ute, worked out the final, yes it is away from GZ. Good camo, signed log and replaced. Thanks to Blatherskite.

After staying in Hay last night, we continued our journey southward with ilook4geo. The day contained a mix of traditional and multi caches which were chosen to represent the areas that we travelled through today. Each found log had two more name added to indicate our visit. All was replaced as it had been found before we moved on.
Our thanks go to Blatherskite for this cache placement and for the easy multi.
