On our way to south... No time to hurry, pitstops wherever we want... That' s what holidays are made of!Thanks for this cache and greetings from Finland!
I put my hand into way too many holes. Thanks Fredd01 ..it really is a big sucker!
This is an impressive machine. Of course Sods law says that when you have X choices you will not succeed in X-1 or a lesser number. As usual found in the last place checked.TFTC Fredd01Brad and Janet are on another epic trip. This time across South Australia to Broken Hill. Then through central and Northern NSW and up into Qld where we will be picking up a new hybrid house-on-wheels. Then we will head south down through more of NSW via Sydney to catch up with B2. Then further south until we get into Victoria from where we will head back into South Australia. Along the way we will grab caches of opportunity.
Another cold day in Lake Entrance. Arrived here and muggle free. Soon located the hide. TFTC
This had the potential to be not nice but a good size container and good instructions saved the day. The planets aligned, the radar was clear and I had itchy feet. I left home base in the mountains to see the sea and seek a few caches and complete a few missions at Lakes - glad I ventured here when it was quiet! TFTC and the FUN. A FAVE for longevity!
TFTC! On a little family trip to Lakes we dragged the geo kid away from the beach for a few finds. This one was such an interesting spot! And amazing to see the infrastructure of yesteryear. Thanks for bringing us here.
Poked around but didn't find it. Just ad Australia doesn't have any dangerous spider species...
Eek! was the comment when I arrived here. Luckily its a quiet area so had plenty of time to search but surprisingly found it quicklyLoved finding an oldie in great condition. Tftc Freddo1Regardskbucky
Muggles around eating so we had to cease looking. Next time we are here. interesting machinery too.
My track record with these type of contractions is deplorable. I can never seem to find them.I couldve swore that I had logged this one before. Oh well, I definitely have now!
Came by Lakes entrance as a night stay on my trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Mostly looking to see new things and chase other ALs and caches. Well this is a nice place TFTC!I found it in about three seconds. lol. If that doesnt happen I usually dont find caches on machinery.
Always enjoy poking around old machineryCaching around on the road trip that encompasses Barrington Tops, Sydney, the Easter Geobash Mega in Canberra then the return via who knows where to homeThanks Fredd01 for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Lake Entrance yesterday. Today we have all day to explore the area. This cache was also found during our exploration.**Fredd01**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove from Canberra to Lakes Entrance where we will stay for two nights. We have found a nice walk through forest along the coast. It is lovely to walk here and we see so much wildlife. The weather is splendid. A clear blue sky and an exuberantly shining sun, but not too hot. On our way to the virtual The Entrance we passed this impressive piece of machinery. This one took us longer then it should have. It was in the spot we missed but in the end we were succesful. Thanks again for another fun cache.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Ll
Staying at Tostaree Cottage farmstay campground just east of Nowa Nowa for two nights, we spent the day traveling southwards and sightseeing around Lakes Entrance. The afternoon was spent on a walk across the bridge and along the sandy track to the entrance itself, finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Fredd01!
Oh wow wat an amazing spot. We are here from Holland visiting Australia and our Australian family didn't know the spot of this machine. There were amazed to see this. Loved to show them wat geocaching can do.
These big machines scare me, luckily there werent too many holes to poke ones hand in. Tftc
TFTC and a nice very quick find this morning. I spent 30 minutes there yesterday and walked away disappointed but knew I would be back today as we leave here tomorrow. I was determined to get it. I had a strong feeling where it was but for the life of me I couldnt find it. I kept going back to the spot but to no avail. Even my muggle husband was helping me and got his strong torch out of the car. So today I walked straight to where I thought it was, did a different manoeuvre and bingo, took seconds. I was kicking myself. I left a geocoin. A favourite from me and an interesting piece of equipment. Instead of it sucking I sucked yesterday. Heading to Griffith tomorrow to visit friends then back to the Hunter Valley.
Still road tripping the east and caching too with Jack and Purrfect Di. Down closer to sea level now! Found the big sucker. Hard to imagine that floating on a boat!! A little groping revealed the cache. Thank you Fredd01 for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! Viva Mexicana ! PS:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... or is it backward... it takes an extra day to get to March 29.2.24 The Mega Leap Event of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And don't forget to put the June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... fun and funky finds
A nice quick find with a very thorough hint utilised. Many thanks Fredd01 for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. And thanks for sharing the highlights of your region .
I love these type on machines, and this one taken by corjam11. We have a long drive back to Sydney but we very much needed to stretch the legs and this place looked perfect near the water. TFTC
Found by The Empire + HThe sun hung high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the asphalt as we embarked on another road trip, this time setting our compass towards the coastal gem of Merimbula, NSW. Summer was the perfect companion for our journey, promising sun-kissed landscapes and a wealth of new discoveries along the way.Our first pitstop on this adventure was Lakes Entrance, a tranquil coastal town nestled at the entrance of the Gippsland Lakes. The scent of brine hung in the air as we stepped onto the jetty, a bustling hub where fishermen cast their lines and the rhythmic clatter of crab nets echoed in harmony with the lapping waves. The Entrance, where the lakes met the Southern Ocean, was a convergence of worldsa place where nature and human activity danced in a delicate choreography. A quick find here! Thanks for the cache Fredd01.-M
#journeypirates were here 13/12/2023 we took a while but we got there in the end!!!
Was in Lakes today. Did a quick check after last log - found the container all tucked up in its hidey hole.
We looked high and low, found what was once inside the cache. No cache or log found

Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case Fredd01, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way to Melbourne and we did a few nice caches. All COs thanks for bringing us on this nice places and making this caches.
In Lakes Entrance for a CITO and Anniversary event for Noworries + Wife. We were a bit early arriving so came by to have a look for this cache. We ran out of time and came back after the event to make the find. TFTC
Found with PapaGrouch. Parked across the road then proceeded to look for this one. PapaGrouch found it using his phone camera while I was still trying to get my mirror out of my bag. Had to wait our some passing muggles before it could be replaced as found. And yes there was an empty drink can in there as well. TFTC
#1752A nice quick find in the warm afternoon son with The Welder, his two minis, and my two Ge0_Ninja and Ge0Bug. Interesting history and dredge. It was a great hide. I also realised that I had been writing the wrong date in all my logs that I had done today. The logs on this website is right.Thx for the cache. Found it with Heymissjo, The Welder and Ge0_Ninja
Initially, I walked 40 metres past this cache. Well, that wasn't a good start... a quick loop around and OMG, the first place I searched, had me feeling the cache ...with no gloves on there was no time to hesitate. Grabbed travel bug
We have now finished our Father's Day weekend away and starting to head home. However cache leave without finishing and collecting the last of the Lakes Entrance geocaches. Only these 2 left.
Lovely old dredging machine and taking a guess where the cache would be got it on my 4th try.

Bingo! Cache in hand. Thank you.
I always carry gloves in the car but figured this would be a straight forward find. D'oh
The story usually goes, I found it in the last place I looked. Well of course, because there is no need to keep looking after you find it. This time it was actually in the last possibly place that suited the hint. Well played Fredd01.

It appears that the road works around Bullock Island are very nearly complete and the road is open again.
Happy Cache Hunting

I'm disabling this one for a few weeks. There are road works and up grades being carried out and the road in to the cache is closed. I'll enable the cache as soon as the road works are finished.
Have tried this one once before with no luck this time with in 1 minute found don't now how I missed it last time
Thanks for the hide

Well, after a wrong direction. On my first visit. Tried again before my trip south. Tried everywhere except one location. I'm not sure how l missed it. With a slight hand, the cache in hand and log signed. Thanks for showing the location.
Shotgun my side kick had this one in hand in like 3 minutes tyfc , beautiful day . Moving trackable north
Team Bee Bear (ft. Willow ) at it again today!! This one took longer than anticipated but my handy dandy phone camera came to the rescue
We gave been putting this one off as finding caches on machinery are not my favorite, but after reading the hint, it was a nice easy find. Tftc
Out and about with my GeoChauffer checking out some sites we had not seen yet. And tripping down memory lane.
There has been so much happen here in the past 40 years. I guess development rules the way like everywhere else and so does tourisms, like the price of things.
This little island has some great views of the bay and the inlet which I did not realise was man made... the things you learn while caching...
Again Thanks for bringing us across the water to her Fredd01...

This was the last cache on our short visit to Lakes Entrance. We hope to be back soon to explore more of this beautiful town and surroundings. We were glad that this one turned out to be a little easier than it could have been. Thanks for placing a cache here for us to find!

It certainly is one big sucker. We located the cache in the last little nook or cranny that we looked in.
Great spot for a cache along with a little history. TFTC.

Currently holidaying in Lakes Entrance and a rainy Monday it was so we checked out some local sites today. After a short trip to Lake Tyres, we then stopped in here at Bullock Island and again between the showers we headed to find this cache. After reading the hint Mr Pooky made the find in the first place he looked. TFTC, the history / information and bringing us to this spot, without geocaching we would never have known this vessel existed. TNLN.
Found it! We had an enjoyable boat ride to Metung and lunch at the pub. Afterwards we drove around Lakes Entrance seeing the sites and collecting caches!! This one Muggle Heather found using her phone camera as she refuses to put her hand into dark holes!! TFTC SL
A drive down to Lakes to pick up a box of the famous Big Brown Bear Donuts. Kploz and I ate our custard & cream ones in the carpark nearby watching people fishing or crab collecting. After we cleaned ourselves up from the sticky sugary goodness and grabbed a quick photo for the virtual cache we made our way to GZ. Kploz had found this cache previously and enjoyed watching me get hot and cold from it's location. Thanks to my camera phone I soon spotted the surprisingly sized cache that contained a dry logbook and plenty of swaps. Thanks for the cache.
Quickest find with help from the hint to speed things up. Amazing piece of machinery and what it did. People around but deserted where it needed to be.
