Unfortunately this fella has been through a bushfire. Fortunately the log is still great.

Wow. Amazing spot even with the soot. I was surprised to see the log book in such great condition. Good container choice as it turned out. Found on the 2024 epic Norfolk Island jaunt. Of course there was caching enroute. This was one of them!! Thanks 1MinnieMoo and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! A layover in Brisbane so a great excuse to grab some caches. How lucky this has survived a recent fire! An intact log is always a good find!In the company of fellow cachers. Thanks to the CO for placing these caches for others to find.

So surprised to see the log book surviving the fire that has come through this area. Thanks for keeping this cache going 1MinnieMoo.

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.I have been wanting to find this cache for quite a while as it is a GotW. However the Knight has just been through a bushfire and he is looking a little worse for wear. Everything has been burnt or melted. His outer garment has gone. He would probably be better called Sooty now. But when I opened the cache container, despite melted TB the logbook had survived completely unscathed. I am giving this a favourite point in recognition of this being a GotW. I hope he fixed up and redressed soon as this cache is a goodie. This is my find #6626. 12678. Located by baby&Mrs gopher while out caching with Simber15 for the day. Not used to this type of terrain as it is mostly flat back home. We parked up and baby got the floor mat out of the truck to cover the barbed wire on the fence. Made the walk to gz and SL Tnx 1MinnieMoo and another FP from us. Took TB.

Found but my phone battery was virtually flat so I'm logging this cache belatedly. I like that it was dedicated to the heroes of The Gap storm. I remember my shock upon hearing the news of The Gap's freak storm. My hubby was working at nearby Ashgrove at the time.
Dropped a trackable.

1MinnieMoo I found your cache On A Dark Night on 20/6/2023, 2:45 pm. This is my find 5645 and find # 9 today. No problems locating this one. A favourite from me. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

As it is Favourite Fans month I decided to head out to Wingaap Drive today to find some highly favourited caches. After collecting the Wingaap Drive cache as my milestone cache in honour of the great cache creator, I continued up the road collecting some of his old caches.

A few ups and downs brought me to yet another wonderful Wingaap creation. I quickly found where the log was hiding and made my mark. I remember that 2008 storm quite well and the destruction it caused to the bush in this area.

Thanks 1MinnieMoo for maintaining this great memorial cache.

Well I had a nice yarn sorted for my log, until I just read the hint. It was really simple to find the cache but without the hint, a bit of fun to find the log. Thanks

My target cache today was a nearby puzzle one so I decided to continue my walk and find the Wingaap caches near the road, doing a circuit. I've not found many of Wingaap's caches before but found five today - so a lot of fun, except for the ups and downs walking along the Nebo Road Fire Break. Before I arrived, I was trying to work out what the name meant but when I saw it .... Smile. I'll be giving a few FPs today Smile. Tftc

A little difficult to get to… and it did give me a fright admittedly but lots of thought! Thanks for the find. Left with a barbed wire mark on my jeans bit tis but a scratch.

On a day out with Barbbowman today discovering an area I have hardly ever seen. Now that I live closer - I shall be able to do more of the ones around here - it was a hot day too so that slowed us down a bit. A great day out with lots of laughs and finds. All caches were in good condition - or if needing maintenance we took care of it as we went around.
Thanks to the owners for adding to our enjoyment of the game today.
Such an awesome find here today! a Favourite point from me!

This morning, I was able to escape for a few hours and took a drive along Mount Nebo Road with the objective of finding a few more creative and well constructed geocaches hidden by wingaap. After finding a few, I parked at the top of Duck Creek Track, and made the descent down, hoping to find a few locations that Indiana Co had visited. A nice walk around Mount Arum Gold Mine area, and the creek nearby was quite tranquil, before I ran out of time and needed to ascend back to the car. I made a few final stops along Mount Nebo Road as I returned back home.

After walking back along the ridge from RRDD, I thought I would close-out my walk by visiting this geocache. I found a suitable ridge to walk along and slowly descend, to then arrive at GZ. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Another awesome cache, with a deserved Favourite Point from me! Thanks wingaap for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. If help is required to maintain, then I'm happy to help in the future, or adopt if need be!

Heading out with Mr and Mrs SP today with one mission - to find as many Wingaap caches as we could. This was the first one on the list. Wingaap, your caches have entertained and inspired geocachers for decades, and I sincerely hope I have not found your last cache. You're appreciated. I will run out of FPs today, but this one certainly deserves it.

Sunday.

Out today with OBC, Mr and Mrs SP were hoping to grab some caches. We were targeting Wingaap caches and anything that looked good. This was one SP had found previously, but it was really good to re-visit this one as it is a fantastic cache and highly recommend anyone pay this cache a visit also.

20-Jun-21
I have heard about and seen pictures of this cache before and have wanted to visit to see it for myself for some time and today was that day. Bit of an easy bush bash to get to GZ and we came across the magnificent object that was before us. Wingaap, you have outdone yourself with this one. So good. The kids didn't understand the reference so I started to tell them the background but they didn't seem to understand. They made mention of an infamous bushranger instead but they still loved the cache. We posed for some photos, signed the logbook and left a trackable we have had for a bit now. With a recent mention on FB of these caches being up for adoption, I hope someone looks after this one and all of Wingaap's other creations for many years to come. Many thanks for taking the time to create this masterpiece. Another fav point for the ever increasing pile.

This fellow has been in my hit list for awhile and now has started my admiration for wingaap caches.
It’s just a flesh wound haha
We’ll call it a draw

Thank you so much for your awesome caches and amazing art.

15-May-21
The theme for this one went a little over my head but luckily my partner knew what it was all about and had a good laugh. I am hoping these caches out this way are slowly converting him to caching as it's not often I get him to come along! An awesome cache, definitely enjoyed stumbling across this one in the middle of the bush. TFTC!

Heading down the mountain after a morning bush walk with BM75.
I stopped at a few traditionals that I had saved, or not yet found, up here.
Parked along the road and went bush for this one
This is costing me some FP, have another one!
Thank you wingaap

Introduced the kids to Monty Python. They found the sketch quite amusing but it opened up lots of questions I wasn't prepared for. Where did his sword go? Did they film it here? What is under the helmet?

Anyway, it was a cracking cache. I could have parked much closer. As it is we did a 1.5km round trip up and down a lot of hills.

Thanks for bringing us out to the scrub. A fave from us Knights.

20-Aug-20
Love this one! The knight is doing a fantastic job.

Out to continue my trad a day and my cache a day challenges, which is now starting to become a difficult challenge due to fitting it in with my work and the lack of local caches. While I managed to get away from work early yesterday, today I have come back to finish of the ones in this area and a few more up the road.

There has been a bit of burn off in the area so not sure how this will affect the caches in the area. I got 4 to do in this spot with a little walk between each one. Parked in the middle of the group and started my walk. First was on a dark knight, what a cool cache, truly a huge amount of work has gone into this one, another favourite point from me . all good with the cache and log.
Next was scrap, all good with this one, was sure if the (pic included) was part of the cache, but there was a few others in the area as well.
My third one was the bush shower, this took a little searching to find as it was hidden from the angles at which I was looking. Once I expanded the search it was easily spotted. Cache was a little hard to open but I managed and got the shock of my life by the resident living inside, it’s huge and very hairy. Log was dry and all good.
The last one was gunnie and just a short walk from the road. What an interesting design at first look, then a very different cache inside. The cache and log was all dry and good.

Thank you for placing these in this area, I enjoyed the walk and the search.

Sour_Lemom, Mayfly06 and I were all very excited to stop off at this one after reading the logs. Sour_Lemom loved retrieving the container, and it is a very well made cache, thanks for the great work, fp from me!

I haven't found a Wingaap cache for a while and this one did not disappoint. Read the cache description at gz and it differed to what I was thinking.
"Come back and fight ya coward. 'Tis merely a flash wound."
"But you have no arms or legs."
"OK then. Let's call it a draw."
Signed the"hidden" log and continued on my way. A favorite for me. Tftc

FIND #400

After finding a parking place at the closest we could, we then went under the barbed wire fence & started our walk down the steep path. We then veered off the path & headed towards GZ. “Oh yep” says Mrs Krispy Kreme, “that’s got to be it!”

Reading the hint we checked out his backside & uncovered the cache. Logged our name & along we went. Thanks for the adventure.

TFTC Very Happy

It was perfect weather to head out and find a few caches, overcast with showers. So I decided to travel to this area and create a few more smileys for my map.
After a short stroll I found myself at GZ and spotted the creative cache easily. It did take a while to figure out where the actual log was however.

Thanks for the cache Wingaap Big Grin

After our previous find, I consulted the wonders of technology to see how to get to our next cache. It looked a little downhill judging by the contours but after about 150 metres of bush-bashing we were faced with a giant crevice (pronounced crev-arse) and we aborted with an uphill backtrack to the main trail. I shelved all faith in technology (unless it is a thought provoking deep philosophical tweet from a Kardashian) and decided we would be better off limping up and down the track. As you say on the golf course; we took our medicine; and then cheated on the score card anyway. We strolled up and down the track which closely resembles a sine wave, although those filthy lying contours say otherwise until it came time for a direct approach. I counted down the metres until we found the awesome cache and after looking up a skirt, had our stamp in the log. Adding a favourite point to the pile because a great cache is always worth the pain. tftc

After finding a geocache couple of hundred metres for the back, we continued our walk in the bush. At GZ, we were met by a very tough looking character. Initially we thought he may not want to reveal the container.
However a quick search soon had what we were looking for and he decided to leave us in peace and let us pass on our way. We signed the log and love the work that has gone into putting this cache container together for the geocaching community.
Thanks Wingaap
A favourite for sure!

TFTC. Over in Oz for a bit of sunshine and relaxation.
I have decided to look for quality instead of quantity and have been having a blast.
My non caching partner decides on the destination the day before and I filter the caches.
Then we get a surprise at GZ.
I have really enjoyed finding these hand made treasures in the bush. Again loud laughter at this cache.
A fav from me.
Thanks so much Wingaap for the great cache.

I love Monty Python with my favourite movie being the Holy Grail and my favourite part being the meeting with the Black Knight. Payed our respects to the now sword less knight. Left with the words “tis but a scratch” “it’s just a flesh wound” “come on you pansy”and of course “alright we’ll call it a draw” going through my head. Thanks for the reminding me watch this movie again soon.

Friday. Finally getting to the end of my to-do list for today – the humidity was very high and it was now not just storming, but also starting to drizzle a bit too, so I was really trying to beat a hasty path to the last of the caches on this trail. Had to watch some of those little dirt hills on the bike path though, they can be very slip-slidey! What a wonderful cache! I was not expecting to find anything this amazing!! Well worth the visit today. Found the container in the right spot, signed the log and replaced as found. Passed some old motor cycles which were broken – one was in halves – assuming they were from something that has happened previously on the road I was near.

This was the 9th of 11 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***wingaap***, for showing us this place. Smile

Having seen this in the Geocaching blogs and it being based on my favoirtie movie, I just had to come and get this one. After being slowed down at other sites by rain I got to a safe parking spot with under 90mins of daylight left I took the up down path from K9 to get here and back without needing to pull out my torch.
A nice area and well designed and placed cache.
Thanks from this cacher from NZ.
