We're in the 4wd today so grabbed the chance to find this cache while we're visiting Killarney. Glad we have high clearance
At GZ we found the Hancock's replacement cache. After signing that log we saw online there have been finders since their visit, including a visit from the CO! So there must be another cache. Yep, sure enough, only a couple of feet away we found the 'real' cache. So we combined the logs into the one cache and removed the temporary cache left by the Hancocks.
Thanks heaps for placing this cache and adding more fun to our day vk4da.

Attacked this cache from the Killarney end and after finding the cache continued along and came out on Grayson’s Siding Road . We would probably give this a higher terrain rating than 2.5 as a high clearance vehicle is necessary.

Thought this cache drive sounded familiar but wasnt coming up on our list do maybe was a dnf. Anyway drove up and found quite quickly. A lovely day for a drive and csche has lots of swaps. TFTC
We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Spending a couple of days in Warwick for medical appointments, before heading to 2018 Big Red Bash at Birdsville.
Today we headed out further afield than we have been when previously here to grab a few caches.

We decided to try for this cache on a whim. "We" involved me and two friends who aren't yet official cachers. We drove a little way up the unsealed road in our 2WD before needing to walk - which was already making me lose a few friend points . By the time we got to the geozone, my companions were a little irritable and I knew we HAD to find it so they could feel the satisfaction the rest of us feel after location a cache after a bit of work. Well, we searched high and low for no reward. It was quite a whingey walk back to the car, with me convincing one that at least he FitBit would be happy!! I won't be in the area again any time soon so I wonder whether I will ever be able to try this one again....
Unfortunately my son in law has not been able to get to the cache, we will back next week for urgent maintenance on the cache.
Anything with the word 4wd in it instantly grabs our attention and this cache was no exception. It was an easy and nice drive to GZ. After about 20 minutes of searching, all we came across were a few bits of broken plastic. After reading previous logs we gathered the cache must have pretty much disintegrated so we replaced the container and log book in the same spot. It's not a strong container so will need upgrading but should do for a temporary fix. TFTC!

104Km from home.
Having based “The Mystery Machine” (Caravan) at the Killarney Cabins and Caravan Park as part of “Trying to get away from the heat of the Darling Downs” post-Christmas trip, have a look around and pick up the odd cache here and there.
This was going to be a morning walk cache from the caravan park but with some time on our hands we decided to do a recce trip and check out the soft roader abilities of Scooby Doo our Subi Outback. It handled the muddy track and steep climbs much better then Mrs RF, who constantly reminded me that it is HER new car and if I damage it my life is pretty much over.
Once we got to the general area of the cache I decided to do it as after a couple of walks this morning into other caches I reckon I will probably pass on the early morning walk tomorrow.
We easily found the cache location, unfortunately it is the saddest cache I have ever found that is still almost in location, a broken container, a soggy, rotted logbook and spread all over the GZ. We attached a cache find sticker to the remains and headed off back down the hill.
The hide is wrecked, the container is stuffed, the log is a rotten mess and unusable.
We took nothing but memories, we left nothing but footprints and our tag.
Sorry for your cache vk4da.
Cheers

Out and about taking the girlfriend (who I've successfully gotten into Geocaching - SUCCESS!! ) for a great country drive. Ended up doing Beaudesert, to Killlarney through the river crossings, then up through Warwick before heading home. Of course, it wouldn't be a worthwhile trip without grabbing a few caches along the way.
What a cracking spot. This is why I love Geocaching! I would not have driven down this road if it hadn't been for the cache but boy oh boy I'm glad I did. My phone GPS was playing up so we actually drove past it before having to turn around being watched by a few hundred head of cattle. Got back and spied a likely hiding spot, did a quick 360 degree of the hiding spot and quickly found the cache. This is where it turns bad
The cache appears to have been squashed by a moving rock. The cache was sitting out in the open and all cracked and unfortunately full of water. The log was definately not able to be signed, I drained the water out and tried to hide it under a rock to protect it a little bit until it can be replaced.
See attached photos for reference.
Thanks for the cache vk4da. Favourite point for bringing us to this spot.

It is the week of the GIFF. Geocaching International Film Festival. [^]
I am heading to Lismore for the next viewing of the GIFF films at the event there tonight.
As I have all day I can find a few caches along the way.
I parked the van and walked to this cache and made a quick find. [^]
Unfortunately it is in a bad way. It needs new container and log book as both are physically damaged and water damaged.
Can the CO visit the cache and make repairs? Maybe the next visitor can bring a new container and logbook?
Thanks for he cache.

Bruce said he,d take us up in sherman,, his bloody great tank, too eeasy! Nice find thanks
I have had this on my watch list for so long now I have forgotten why I started to watch this one!! Ms Wig and I arrived and drove about 500m in but then decided to walk from there as the road became less friendly. It was a good walk up with good views and some wild life. At GZ we thought this was going to take quite a while but were lucky to find it quite quickly.
Thanks Vk4da for the exercise!

Nice drive up here and beautiful mountains all around! Quick find but need replace cache and log paper! Couldn't open the page but made it to sign but can't see other geocachers signed! Look like used be very wet but dried hard! I don't have spare! Fav point TFTC
Yeah! Found cache and log book signed and enjoyed the wonderful view of the valley from a little further on. Many thanks for the cache.
On another trip to Killarney picking up a few caches on the way.
Like others, we tried the Northern approach but as we were not in our own geovehicle we decided to go get some exercise and leg the 900 or so metres in. Such a glorious day and the view of Killarney was great!
Quite a scramble necessitated a PAF but eventually we were successful.

Fun drive after a bit of rain the day before and got some nice muddy shoes at the GZ. But still a fun find. TFTC!
Well that sure tested my driving skills, my navigator said she was sure this was the better road to take, next time I read the description. The search took longer than expected but a spot of leave the area and come back worked for us. TFTC
Spending a few days in the local area and decided to pick up a few caches whilst out and about with geo friends. This certainly was a hair raising experience getting to GZ then a long search for the prize but thank goodness there were no Joe Blakes around today, sure is a lot of holey holes for them though. Just about to give up when we tried going in from another angle and there it was. Thanks Vk4da for the good hide & TFTC
We ended up taking the northern entrance to this road and had some interesting 4WD experiences as well as viewing some fantastic panoramas of the farm land to the south. Once at GZ we explored about every rock hiding place possible - even had PAF assistance. Finally after about 30 mins the container was spotted - seems to have had some cache creep in its time. To finish off we continued along the track and came out near the caravan park. Thanks vk4da.
Last one on our lis for the day
Just up the hill from caravan park
Headed off in our 4wd ,definately 4wd track in parts
Arrived close to GZ and the words
Over here Over there came into my head
Would we clamber, would we walk around and down
Around and in we went
Spent 20 minutes clambering here and there without any luck
Headed out thru prickles and unsteady rocks and spied something blue in corner of my eye
Yippee it was the cache
Thank goodness we got it
Great views as we headed back down the track
Tftc a favourite for me as it took me out of my comfort zone

After locating many caches today with The X-Trailers we headed back to our camp at Killarney caravan park. One more cache we had to find. Imagine staying in a town and not locate a cache. Luckily The X-Trailers had a 4wd so off we went. I admired the views from back Windows whilst Mick navigated the road. Arriving close to GZ we all looked and said Oh No!!!!! Rocks and Bush everywhere. Do we start st top or bottom??! I went up top and GPS said down 6mtrs so Gwen scrambled from the side and looked. No luck we all said after 20 minute search. As Gwen returned the way she came she spotted something. Hooray she said i've git it. We'll dine to my sis who hates rocks and heights. It was a challenge fir us today TFTC and a favourite point
TFTC! With my fear of snakes I was even more determined to find this one. Drove most of the way up Omara's road in my Mazda 3. Walked the last km, well 950m. It was a fairly easy find, but I recommend decent shoes, as I came across long grass and stinging nettles! Still another smiley face, so thank you.
Tftc. Came out this way to grab some cacahes and spotted this one on the radar. Ok a 4wd. Good thing too as i certainly wouldnt bring a 2wd here. But rutted out. Pulled up at gz and thoight great a snake pit full of rocks. I do enjoy a challange and a rock hop so after alittle while was able to come away with the prize. All good here. Cheers
I'd ridden past here on a mountain bike last year and due to a change of plans did not return via this route and missed out on this cache. Returning today with a group this was soon located
A group convened at Moogerah to keep ruzzelz company on the weekend and we set off in convoy to do a couple of walks and some drivebys.
We spread out and I went up top until a slitherrrrrry rustling made me clear out. Luckily Goldielover found the cache in another spot

Found with stairman1, Ruzzelz, ms maddy and JAT.We were doing some 4wd up here and decided to grab this one on the way. All good here . No snakes to be seen. TFTC
We are finally able to spend some time to catch up on logging our cache finds from over the last few months. Mr Just a Trifle was out for a day of caching with stairman1, goldielover, ruzzelz and Miss Maddy. After finding a few caches requiring a bit of a walk and a few drive-by caches, they went for a bit of a 4WD for a change of scenery. On arrival at ground zero, everyone spread out to track down the cache but goldielover had the cache in hand in no time. With the names of everyone added to the log book, we continued on our little adventure.
Thank you vk4da for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Found while in the area today with Goldielover, Ms Maddy Ruzzelz and Just a trifle. Doing a little 4wd trip today had us all here enjoying this area. Goldielover spotted this one very quickly as we all spread out to track this one down. I had already climbed right over the cache. I might need to open my eyes next time.
Goldie and Ms Maddy seemed to like the fat cows on the way up here. I was thinking how good they would taste. Not sure if that is what Ms Maddy was thinking though??

Didn't find. Our imagination about snakes got to us :-/. Oh well maybe next time
After a long slog up the hill on shanks pony, I started looking. Well, no snakes, but no luck either. So many places it could be but did I want to stick my hand there? Even my walkers stick did not help.
Out doing a little MTB loop and rode right past this. The original plan was to return this way and find the cache in the afternoon. Well you know what happens to plans as a day progresses (maybe next time) https://connect.garmin.com/course/9613698
4063 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1200. After the challenge you made the Mrs and baby decided we would take it up. Made the drive along the track from the north headed towards the south. Arrived with some squeals from the Mrs cause she isn't real keen on steep tracks. We searched and we searched. Packed up to leave and baby made that last look. Better bring that pen back I've found it. SL Tnx vk4da and Bob, baby still reckons you should do well up where you are.

I'm in a Corolla. I came in dry weather via O'Maras Road and let me say it was pushing the friendship of what I can expect a small 2WD to do. Since I have pushed my little putt putt to the limits I am determined to find this thing. I spend what feels like a decade looking high and low. There is a whole lot of fauna movement which I console myself saying hopefully they have legs, although I am guessing I am kidding myself. I eventually found said object. I take it the CO has taken me here for the spectacular views. A small bison on the fence would probably have been a better move. I really didn't like sticking my hands into this snake pit.
As it turns out, if your car is afraid of heights like mine, a better bet would be to come in via Grayson's Siding Road. It is not very far a walk from the intersection of Grayson's Siding Road and O'Maras Road.

Having completed the climb to the Lincoln Bomber this morning we had broken camp and were making our way home and grabbed some caches along the way. A detour up here and quite a lot of searching before I finally found it well away from where I had commenced my hunt. Found it tucked away safe and sound. Tftc.
Stop off at this cache to let seffnjarah claim a find. On our way back from doing the Lincoln Bomber cache. Having not remembered where the cache was I *gracefully* allowed seffnjarah to find this for himself while I made a few calls now that we were back in phone reception Cache signed and back on the road.
After much clambering around the rocks with 4 sets of eyes decided to look back over some the logs and took the advice of those who said not to climb. Quickly Mrs Grundies had the cache in hand. TFTC
Out for a scenic drive with the folks ( feeding my new addiction). I was lucky enough to find the cache, dad was lucky enough to find a big brown snake. Eeek!
We had morning tea on a picnic blanket amongst the cow poo. A crazy motorbike rider came riding down the upper section of the hill and then crazily jumped his bike down onto the road. Then it was on for the cache! Well I am not sure if this cache is a 1.5 / 1.5. Numerous stinging nettles, broken strips of barbed wire and a carpet snake. That is what we encountered AND not to mention the hundreds of places a cache can be hiding. This was very hard for us. We had given up and were about to drive off. The car had trouble starting so I jumped out whilst waiting for it to go, and I had one last look and somehow found it. It isn't easy!
When we arrived at GZ I just looked and thought we could be here for a loooong time but after a few minutes the cache was in hand

Found and we remained in one piece which is all good. First hiccup we had was at the entrance to the road and the "discussion " about whether we were going onto private property or not. Perhaps a note in the description clarifying if this is public road, cache owners property, or the property owner is happy for cachers to enter would be good to prevent "discussions" like we had.
We have a 4wd and road was dry so there was no problem getting to cache site, although I would probably have thought harder if track was wet. Kinda wonder why there's not a slightly higher terrain rating on this.
At cache parking area gps still pointing to about 10m away straight up. For further cachers you dont need to clamber straight up the rocks risking a rock fall and injury. There's a pull off / driveway area that you can walk easily to sight the cache.

Today ratdog and I look for this one. It was obvious that things had changed here We thought we matched a rick with one in one of the photos. And it was defiantly moved.

we wandered around here and didn't find anything a big pile of rubbish, old fencing and tree trunks. nothing that looked like a cache and we had been told what to look for.
We PAF and that didn't help. as we still couldn't find it . throwing caution to the wind we decided to replace the cache. This done we headed off.

Well, another try at this one, but sadly the adjacent fence has been replaced recently and my gz is under a great pile of dirt, tree debris, and rusty barbed wire fencing dumped during the fence repairs. Perhaps the owner could check this one please to see if it is still accessible. --... ...-- -... --- -...

Found this one a few years ago but it seems I never logged it online. The proof will be in the log book I took my siblings up "one tree hill" as this place is known to the locals as. We were going fine until the hire car bottomed out of the way up the track. I remember all of us searching the pile of rocks to find the cache. It is a good memory, TFTC
A great find on our trek. Lots in the box, took little soldier on his next adventure. Have left a blue bottle top
Had fun climbing on the rocks searching for this one. Congrats to Marty for this one.
Fangsoki and I had finished a big run in Stanthorpe and were taking the long way home back to Brisbane. We made the detour to come and grab this one. Being a 1.5/1.5 we figured this would be an easy enough drive-by. We were wrong.
After we turned up the dirt road, which became a goat track and the mighty Territory had some issues. At least it wasn't wet today. We pulled up before a steep srop and legged it the last hundred or so metres.
We got near GZ and the hint didn't really help as there were sort of 2 tracks and rocks galore. Hmm.. nothing for it but to start rock hopping, checking for snakes and hoping to spot the cache. We weren't too impressed by this one as the terrain is more like a 3 in our opinion and the difficulty maybe a 2.5.
After much fossicking about I spied a likely but unconventional container and we made our ways over. The container has seen better days but its contents were fine. I took a waypoint and have added the numbers that worked for me today.
Except for the cows, at least there were no muggles here and there was a nice view on the drive out. TFTC vk4da

Captain Terror and I were on our way back to Brisbane after being in Stanthorpe. We were looking forward to getting some caches with a difference.
1.5 Terrain - shouldn't be too hard. HOLY HONKING GOAT TRACK GOING UP A HILL! Wish I had my Pajero for this one. Poor old car was going sidewise rather than upwards for a while there. We eventually arrived at GZ. Oh my. Oh my indeed. I finally found a way to get to GZ - but we found nothing - and it was no 1.5 terrain area either.
Captain Terror clambered about and spotted from a distance. Hmm. I think this one is a bit more like a Terrain 3. I have posted up the co-ords that worked for us today. A nice little area - and I am thankful it was away from muggles - except for curious cows. TFTC vk4da

Took the 2wd up the hill, thought we'd be ok as there had been no rain. All good!
Made it to the top and scrambled around for a while and brownsnakemob found it, I had walked straight past it.
All good, left a couple of tbs.

Drove up here in a new Holden cruze, few scrapes underneath. Found with Willis007 and bsmj . Left a trackable
We were passing on our way to Queen Mary Falls. We had the 4WD with us and thought it would be plain rude not to give this one a go. No problem getting to GZ but it took us a lot longer than it should have done to find it. In the end the cache was very easy to spot and only about 5m off GZ according to our GPSr. So scouting around without looking under every rock did the trick for us. Cache is nice and dry. Enjoyed the views on the way down. TFTC.
First ever GC find! Stopped short due to wet weather (and mud!) ,and walked. After a short search we found it well hidden. Took horse, left carabiner. TFTC
OH, so felt as if we were on private property but the cache notes said it was not a problem, so on we went. We had a poke here and a poke there and another poke somewhere else and it paid off as hubby said "I have it". As we were leaving the mandatory snake wandered across the road in front of the car, so please it was then and not when we were hunting the cache container. TNLN TFTC
Found at 13:57 hrs. Drove right beside this one. No snakes. Nice views from up here.

Quickish find at 1215. Drove up the dirt road to the first grid and drove over and saw the goat track going up the hill. As I had only a 2WD I decided to walk the 650meters indicated on GPSr to GZ. Walked up the hill saw the rad got better so I walked back and got the car. If you take it slowly there is no problem in parkinging within 50meters of GZ provinding the road is dry and it is not looking like rain. GPSr wanted me to play mou tain goat so I chose a much easier climb ans soon had cache in hand. Two lids on an ice cream container are better than one I presume. All in good order but the container is lookinging a little fragile. Disturbeda lizard at GZ. TNLNSL TFTC vk4da
There was no way we would take our car to GZ. It was too low and a two wheel drive. So being our last cache for the day we decided to go for a walk down the hill. When we got to the bottom we were glad we didn't try to drive down. Mud, mud and more mud. Walk across was dangerous enough. It took a while to get there but we didn't think we would find it. There were so many rocks. But it didn't take long to find it. It took us longer to get back to the car. Nevertheless it was a lovely stroll and watching the sunset was awsome. TFTC vk4da.
1024 - We made it through "The Head", along the Condamine River crossing it fourteen or so times and then into Kilarney through the beautiful Condamine Gorge. A great drive on a rare mid week day off, that we haven't done for a number of years. Once we arrived in Kilarney we needed to mark the occasion by finding a cache in town and found that this was the only one right out here. Drove along the track through the paddocks feeling like we were on private property but there was no one out here except for a cow or two to tell us to moooove along. Found the cache in good condition after a short search at 4:24pm. Thanks for placing one here vk2jmp, a nice view in the late afternoon as we traveled to and from the cache.
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Found with TassieGirl.
Loved the veiws along the way to this.
No trouble here for the Bedmobile, it got us to within 15 meters.

We were in a 2wd and were a little unsure on the road (dirt path) to GZ we made it past the first cattle grid and to the second with no troubles but decided to go on foot from there.
The walk was lovely and the views along the way were great.

ENJOYED THIS ONE, GREAT 4WD TRACK FROM THE NORTHERN APPROACH ,GREAT VIEWS, NEEDS NEW PEN , TOOK COIN LEFT GOLF BALL , TFTC
Staying at the Killarney caravan park and had to go for this one. Thought about walking for a micro second. Cache is ok. TFTC
First find for our family Using GPS on android and was a bit out so had to use clues to clarify. Took about 30 min to find. Road in from the north has become quite bad after summer rains def 4WD .TFTC was a great one to start on. Took little duck and left homemade tag.
I was very scared to drive here as I was in the captains chair but they all convinced me to go ahead, up we go. WHAT A VIEW the cows certainly have it. TFTC A bit wet but only a little slippery.
Didn't tell Dannza about the previous cache notes on the slippery roads when wet. I told her to use her 4WD on the yuppie vehicle and she reminded me it was a AWD not a 4WD. I told her it was only a little hill so she took the plunge and it really was not that bad and worth the trip for the view. Another spot we would never have gone without a cache to take us there. TFTC
I must admit I was quite unsure about this one at first because it looked like it was on someone's property but ManicWombat and myself decided to give it ago. If you didn't have four wheeled drive it could have been very interesting or almost impossible to get to because of the slippery road. Upon arriving at GZ we were confronted with a lot of rocks, and the cache could have been anywhere. Later after the cache was found there was an easier way to get to it but we did it the hard way first. Thanks for the adventure. No swaps done, TFTC.
We were not sure about this at first, the start of O'Maras Road looks for all the world like access to private property, but it's not. So we set off, happily we do have a 4WD otherwise it would have been mission improbable! Track was very slippery in places after all the raid but we got to GZ and were confronted by lots of rocks, but which one concealed the cache? I went straight up the rocks from the track and was seriously questioning the terrian rating at this stage. Coordinates were pretty well spot on and soon spotted the prize. Also spotted an easier way to have reached it, but why do things the easy way? Found a geocoin and decided to move it along. Log signed and cache returned to it's hidey hole. Then a multi point turn and back down the track we went. This was quite a good little adventure, thanks vk4da
