The cache has been buried due to pipe laying at GZ. Thanks to all that have taken the time to visit and discover the cache.
The cache was in the reminants of a street sign that had been cut off at ground level.
This left 2 metal pipes sunk into the earth bout 2 foot or so. The cache was at the bottom of the inner most pipe, bout 2m from the nearest tree. The remaining pipe closest to Northbourne Ave remains, but too exposed and dangerous for a replacement cache.

rubai and I had a fair look around, came up empty handed though. I had a feeling where it should have been but, nada.

12-Jul-09
Will go and check on this at lunch. It is in a pretty high traffic area, though does blend in with its "container" very well. Can be hard to spot even when your looking directly at it.

11-Jul-09
Why did I think I could find it in the dark when all those others couldn't? Who knows... It's not far from home. Will try again soon.

21-Jun-09
well after scratching our head looking at the bear ground , just a note this is not in the sprinkers so don't atttempt removing them.
The GZ was only a few meters out so after spied the location then the next trick was trying to retreive the container... Tealby's hands proved a better fit.. unusual container.. but nice a solid a large mirco to be sure.

21-Jun-09
This one almost had us beaten & I'm sure it was pure coincidence that it was found in the end. But we did (both) get very grubby hands in the process.
TFTC & a most unusual container.

Hmmmm, suprised to learn not one but two Winglens missed the cache. Rode out this morning to check on it's health.
Cache alive and kicking.

Botherations! After months of intending to get over here at a good time to get this cache, we planned it today and then DNF'd. Mind you, we were getting very little help from the satellites which led us all around the centre strip and also were suggesting places on either side of both roads as well. We'll have to come back, armed with a hint! Thanks ZZ7.

10-May-09
Well I must say! No wonder I couldnt find this one in the dark before. Got to gz this time and had a clue from another cacher, so knew I was in the right place. Didnt pull out the gps this time as for that reason. Looked around and found it quickly. Sneaky and needed small hands to get this one TFTC

Found this cache at 3:30pm while in Canberra for the day. Nice tricky hide, felt weird walking into the median strip looking around trees until we found the hide.
Thanks Zsazsa for the hide.

Found this with The Bushies on our way out of Canberra. Jumped the curb and parked in the middle. Lots of busy traffic, but done very safely.
Thanks Zsazsa for the hide.'

Ju had Calisthenics practice nearby tonight so I headed off to grab this one. I got to GZ and found the hide quite quickly (although that was only looking between changes of the last set of traffic lights). Unfortunately I couldn't retrieve the cache from its hiding spot.

I returned with Ju once she finished Calo and she had the cache within seconds, again between traffic light changes.

Quickly signed the log and replaced the cache. What a great spot to be covertly cache huntingBig Grin

On my way to a event tonight and decided to try to get this one. I walked up and down at 8.30pm but sigh no luck. Will come back again maybe during the day to see if I can find it

The name said it all, this was our last find as we headed for home after the WWFM. Very sneaky. Thanks

Personally, I just wanted to eat, SpinDoc told me we were going to a Bakery, instead, he took me to the grassy strip in the middle of the road. To protest my hunger, I let him do the searching, I mean, I aint even had damn coffee yet!!

he found it, and I was impressed that a) he found it, and b) where you have hidden it.

Cheers

Arrived at GZ and thought 'What?'. Where the heck could this be. Webby grumbled about being hungry and staring at the girl at the bus stop. I wandered around and finally spotted something - nothing there. Is there a friend? Yep, got it. Having had a wisdom tooth extracted a few months ago, I employed a similar technique and eventually had the cache in hand. Time to eat.

22-Mar-09
Wicked difficult extraction. This cache could be called the dentist.

27-Feb-09
First one for the weekend and tackled in the darkness. Did need to trust the GPSr here as I too went for the obvious feature but then had to widen the search. The hardest part was getting it out. TFTC!

19-Feb-09
Found by Mary & David at 1020. Yes, we are outa here, or at least until our next visit. Quite tricky, as we first made an incorrect assumption about where it might be. Then David found it but couldn't get it, so Mary did the honours easily. Our thanks to Zsazsa7.

A nice quick find as the traffic whizzed by. Luckily my hand was just small enough, replacing the cache was very easy Wink Cheers Gav [3455]

Great little hide, took a bit but the camo of the Geo GT with its bonnet popped up pretending to be overheated, and very believable on a day like today

Especially one that is such a tricky hide Big Grin
It was almost lunchtime when I arrived and the traffic was light.
Lots of tinted windows watching me though [:o]
It's moments like this you need a pushbike Razz
The despair of impending DNF began after about 20minutes of wandering around looking and poking. Once again though I found the cache as I was leaving Big Grin

After several weeks of not caching its great to get one of my dnf's out of the way...... Budgie and I had gone for a ftf on this one and I had scouted this position and had debated it with her.... I should have had another bet - I would have had breaky in bed this time.

I learned something today. I have fat hands especially in the heat. But eventually got it out and cache signed! Interesting location, I had a few thoughts on where it would be on the way in (I parked in the Driving Test Only spot - shock horror)

1915.

Gold! We made this one so much harder than it should be due to our (Shell's) choice of parking location. We arrived looked for a good ten minutes, almost lost my fingers to a spring loaded hinge. I now know the area very well! We should have just trusted the GPS. Thankfully I brought Shell along otherwise there was no way I would have ever retrieved the cache.

Thanks Zsazsa for the cache, it's good to laugh at yourself occasionally.

Out with the family on way home after a BBQ. Nice little spot - little and a bit tight but as we had geo-kiddies in tow not really.

25-Jan-09
Found on my Australia Day long weekend trip. Tricky one and not so easy in the dark last night, but returned in daylight with a hint from a helpline & much easier to locate this time.

Thanks Zsazsa7.
Many discarded tools around. Can't imagine why!

825 - Ive been waiting to drive by in a 'quiet' time for this one. This morning was a good time.

A quick walk over and pre-warned i was armed with some special equipment. A quick retrieval, sign, and return to be on my way. Nice idea.

Managed to retrieve it today, without incurring further damage to my hand. My hands arent that big, either. Anyway, a couple of sticks helped lever it out, I jumped back on my bike and resumed my commute.

There was a gardener nearby, but I think I managed to make it look like I was attending to a problem with my bike.

Thanks Zsazsa7

I could see it, but couldn't get the $@#%@! thing out...just succeeded in slicing my hand open. I'll have to return with implements.

Bugger.

Brilliant!
Wandered around for a while, examing a couple of potential (obvious?) items, no cache to be seen. Kept on checking the coords, moved there yet again, AHA, brilliant hide retrieved in seconds. Thanks.

What a great little cache! Took me a while to find it, and then, once spied, it did take me a while to retrieve. (Had to try a few different approaches before finding a way! – My first attempt - simply to reach and grab failed miserably!). Was anyone watching? I wonder what they would have though? Love the container. Great cache! TNLN, thanks Zsazsa7.

Interesting hiding place - if you rust your GPS this one works.

08-Jan-09
After trying to retrieve said cache for a while we had to retreat to the car to cobble together a specila tool for this one but after that no worries. Don't know who might have watched us from windows around or passer bys though.
Thanks for the challenge.

The trees always seem to have a magnetic pull when searching, and usually that suit fine - didn't help in this occasion. I think we had more trouble getting our hands on said container, than finding it.
Nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

Should have trusted the GPS. As soon as I did I found it.

Thanks,

We looked and looked then finally came up with the cache. This type of container has to be a one of a kind. On the way back we couldn't help but watch the people washing the windscreens on the cars as they were pulled up at the traffic lights. We also started to wonder to ourselves why most of the number plates in Canberra start with 'Y'. Thanks Zsazsa7 for the cache.

Nice walk down Northbourne with Wing6Rider. This was a fun find with some fellow caches. Met up with Fore! (thanks for the first aid), Shadow, Allrounder and Huxley.

04-Jan-09
Definitely a cache to do in broad daylight ehhehe. Got close to GZ and noted (from across the street) that the area was already occupied by some hunters. Very amusing. We had a quick discussion about whether we would stay on the other side of the road and try to act inconspicuous or if we should go over and introduce ourselves, and the latter won out.

Crystal Warrior and wing6rider were in it up to their elbows at that point, and not much use denying their activity. allroudner had already done this cache, so she was dog-minding and having a giggle at where we were looking. wing6rider had noted the correct GZ and was being nonchalant trying to let the rest of us find it, and CW then honed in on the hot spot and came up with the goods. One band-aid and a few minutes later, we'd all logged the find and returned the clever cache back to its nest.

Huxley was discovered by CW and W6R, and off we went to see what else was on our radar.

Saw this come up a few nights ago but could not encourage crystal warrior to go out for the chase after an already big caching day.

Sunday morning, Summernats, good time for a search in the Northbourne Avenue median strip!? We did attract some attention. A great cache and well worth the search.

Met up with Fore!, Shadow, Allrounder and Huxley. Nice to meet some like minded folk. TFTC/brilliant!

Well, that was fun. I wonder how many drivers actually see people in the median ? When I eventually found the spot, I did have to wait for the passers by to clear before the removal began. Thanks.

1642. Well done little buddy it was certainly well worth the wait. The container is a blinder and really very cleverly done, kudos dude. I had to resort to seeking a gentle prod via the phone a placer hotline That may have been because I was rattled by having to dive out of the way of the SS-BJC ATV, my Oregon certainly was for a bit. By the time the find was made it had calmed down and after a couple of deep breaths it was showing 1 metre.

Congrats to Capt T on being the first finder on what will cause some grief to future seekers.

TFTC and for the heads up - NOT!

Well I can just imagine the giant cheesy grin from ear to ear that Captain Tomato has on his face all day today - he would be feeling very chuffed at getting a metro ftf and also quite a tricky ftf.

Congratulations ZZ7 - an excellent hide. With this standard as your first, I am waiting expectantly for more!

When I first read it - just a driveby - I groaned - but I really liked it very much.] Of course with McPhan's gps going the wrong way at first, and a big blue object blocking the cache hide at first, we struggled. Moving the big blue object certainly helped.

Found @ 7:20am on the way to work. FTF!

I saw this one pop up last night but thought there would be little hope of an FTF in this area so decided to collect it on my ride to work. I usually ride within 20M of the GZ every workday.

This morning was a bit of a pain having to drag myself off to work after the long break, but the pain turned into elation as soon as I spied the pristine log. Yehah! Finally managed to beat all the early risers.

A great hide. Used the treddly for a prop and had no trouble with the passing muggles. Thanks for the cache.

Wow.....that was nasty/great/hard/fun and well worth the persistance that was required. Took a good five minutes to retrieve it.

Well done and thanks for the hide.
