Logs
As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
only new to this but did search for awhile but after floods i think it is gone must agree with previous logs
Have to agree with Norm'Ozzi on this one. I dropped in to have a look while doing the nearby Saddleback cache. The place looks like a train wreck since the floods I had a bit of a potter around to see if I could find it - but nada. I don't remember it being too difficult to find last time.
Couldn't find this one, the creek nearby has defenetely flooded the GZ in January,
Trees around are down and the cache has probably been washed away...

Found nice and snug. The road is certainly not in the best condition nowadays! Amazing to think it was once such a major highway. Thanks TaxisVW and DrPam
Almost busted by a muggle from wildlife and reptile relocation who decided to use this area to drop off some carpet snakes. Hope they go further into the bush and don't hang around for the next person to find!
Easy find but there are a lot of trees down in the area so be aware of snakes.SLTSLS. TFTC.
634 - We initially tried to attack this one from the north earlier today, heading west from Elimbah down Twin View Road and then turning south into Old Gympie Road. We drove to the creek crossing of Six Mile Creek which had water up at the 1.2 metre level of the flood warning sign and flowing downstream quite quickly. There was no way we were going to get through this way today, so we back tracked and came in from the southern route and found the cache fairly easily and in good condition at 4:17pm. Thanks for another good one in the series Taxis VW and Dr Pam.
Phone GPS wanted us to go deeper but spider senses pointed us in the right direction. Mobile reception was a bit dodgy.
Took cars, left whale.

My first of Three 'Highway One' caches for the day. The old highway has recently been re-surfaced here, but just up the road it turned into dirt. I find it hard to imagine what it must have been like all those years ago...
Thanks for the cache TaxisVW & DrPam

15:45 Quick find after work at Caboolture today. There is major roadwork going on right next to gz, but everybody had knocked off luckily. TNLN TFTC TaxisVW and DrPam
Driving along I was thinking...I've been here before. Indeed I had....for the cache up a hill nearby.
Nice easy find...albeit a bit dusty.
Cache dry and in good condition
Thanks
After sorting out some parking, I went about the hunt. I totally approached this one the wrong way - I managed to get covered in dust from the trees. At least I found the cache and intact. TFTC TaxisVW and DrPam
This one was a nice quick drive by for us (NyletaM and I), our fourth of the series for the weekend.
Stopped on the side of the road and ran in to grab (No problems finding this one) - signed and continued south.

Fourth Highway One cache for the weekend. Only six to go now! [^] Had no trouble with this cache, although we did approach it a tad nervously after a previous experience with the Highway One (Beerburrum) just north of here (the road in there is just about 4x4 access). TFTC
This is a nice spot. That creek was flowing well and babbling away like they do in story books, there were no motorbikes or 4x4s, just me and the cache. TN/LN/SL. It was an easy find and I began to form a plan to attack Beerburrum from the south .
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga 2 at 11:09am. We had to drive past a Closed Road sign to get to the cache; ahead the water had been over the road but had receded. The cache was easily found. TFTC
We decided to take a step back in time and follow the old Highway One. Eldest geodaughter is learning to drive, so to gain some extra hours, she got behind the wheel and took the road less travelled. This is the fourth in the highway one series we found today in the rain. Glad we had the 4wd as the dirt road was rather muddy with all the rain
Cache in good condition.

No ticks today, thank goodness, but a few geoscratches as I fought my way through the scrub only to find there was a track a few yards on from where I parked. Love the trip up Old Gympie Road, especially views of pineapple farms spread out before the Glasshouse Mountains. Sad to see rubbish in the National Park. No hoons this evening, just birds and me.TFTC.
7th and final find of the day. K's find (S was a bit off the mark, approaching the GZ the hard way before giving up... slacker). Persistance pays off, and ultimately a quick find once K'd had a think about it. TFTC
Nice bit of flow in the little creek. Thought at first the area had been flooded but no, just loads of dust from the nearby road. TFTC TaxisVW and DrPam.
Easy find, this is a nice area that I had no idea about until I got involved in caching. Took geocoin, TFTC
Taking the scenic route back north from Bribie. This was our first stop. Easy find at 0855 hrs. Left a Danish geocoin.

Found while out on the dirty weekend trail, fantastic countryside, thanks for the cache.
quick a crappy road to it, after the rains - still lots of remnants of the recent floods. nearly missed the road in but found it the hard way
well well didnt think we will be going the dirt but it was a good ride.
some more flood damage and a old car battery and bumper lying her. after we finally found the road to the site, the log was seen and there it was all snug inside

This should have been a lot easier, but I took the wrong way in!!

Out with the oldies for the day. Dad had his first taste of caching just down the road and felt that as a seasoned hand, he should get the GPS. It was fun watching them walking in circles. TFTH
The road from the north was gradually getting better so this looked good. Plenty of logs (wooden variety) around but chosing the correct one was easy.

Not a bad area for a chache as this was probably the first time I had ever ventured onto this old road. gng may well have found the cache first, but it had to be there. TFTC TN left a token.
Easy find without GPS - left it in the car. weroamin joined me eventually and we signed the LOG. TFTC.
1615hrs Quick find on our way home. No muggles and off road parking. Took TB. TFTCSL
Decided to go for a drive along the old road today and grab a few caches. A quick found it at 1010hrs and now I know where to park for Saddleback.

With so many new caches so close to home, the temptation was just too much. After finding Highway One - Beerburrum, I head toward this one, only to be foiled by council workers repairing the road, blocking my access. I had no choice but to turn around with my tail between my legs. Will have to tackle this one again later on.
Went back this afternoon and found the cache easily - the fairer half didn't think about trying the other end of the road, although she probably wouldn't have wanted to try parking her car while she went to look anyway. We know this area well, it is the starting point for our cache Saddleback
Yar Hoo! Another FTF It seems that I manged to slip in betrween JAT visits. I was wondering why he hadn't got this one. Anyway nice area I often drive this way for when I want to get away from the traffic. TFTC.
