Well worth the walk out to the end. Unfortunately when we got there the log was lying on the ground near GZ, the cache container is cracked and someone has set up camp within about 10 metres of GZ.
Log was far too wet to sign but took a photo to prove we were there. A beautiful spot. Nice to see one of the undeveloped spots around the Bay. You feel like you are miles from anywhere here.

I think this one is gone looks like someone has been living there and right
on where Gz is, found a spot that matched the clue but alas nothing...

Awesome little spot I never knew existed. Nice walk to the cache on a sunny afternoon. Great cache all round
Found with Bedmaker.
Lovely walk among the mangroves to GZ. Looks like some locals had been camping nearby, we came across a campfire site.

This was a really cool spot to walk out too.
Made our way there and eventually found a way into where we had to search.
An enjoyable cache to walk out to.

Not my favourite dish but a different GZ found after a visit to Spiders and Snakes. Not a bad sunset either.
Oysters are good for stamina and could have been handy on this different trek to the cache, but we achieved our objective, viewed a sunset then returned to van park for some sundowners.
It was raining so I waited in the car for a couple of minutes. Like most showers today, the shower passed so I headed out. I headed to the point and took the left hand side. Some rock hopping over the slippery wet rocks. What a spot! I saw the fort and imagined the parties held down here. Clear skies. PS - I made it back without any rain but wet from brushing the plants and only carrying a few spider webs.
If someone would have a look at this one and check it out it would be greatly appreciated.
May the caching karma god grant you ten finds in a row....

Stomp, stomp, stomp, found Monster shells nearby.
On the way back, was meet with an army of Soldier Crabs. Both Little Bay Pirates went chasing after them to get a better look.....oh, and Dad Bay Pirate too. Whilst Mum Bay Pirate watched from a safe distance.
Past some Clean Up Australia people that were on their way to GZ. Possibly to clean up the Camp site.

Reperio at 1725. Expected this one to be a bit more of a straight forward walk to GZ, but I'm glad it wasn't...a little bit of rock hopping was needed, and once I did almost a full circle of GZ looking for a way in, I was surprised to see the make shift camp here. Looked almost inviting in a sense, but instead got to searching for the cache, and soon had it.

Found a track wide enough to drive down and parked just about on the beach, after a little stroll we landed at GZ, it was there that i seen the biggest oyster shell that i have ever seen maybe thats where the name has come from! We spent the next 45 mins chipping our own oysters from the near by rocks.

Another beautiful spot we otherwise wouldn't have been to. The camper has moved on maybe they thought it would have been a nice quiet spot but were surprised on a few occasions to be visited by geocachers? It reminded us of Survivor! TFTC
1st for the day. A very nice walk to cache had. Found cache without too much trouble but cache container will need to be replaced, crack in side wall & damp log. I hope it was a homeless person that used to call this place home because anyone else will need a clip around the ear for leaving all this rubbish for other people to clean up, otherwise a terrific spot, thanks.

We followed the beach around as suggested by the previous log as the ground is very boggy at the moment. It's a lovely walk around and a very picturesque spot. It seems as though the camper may have moved on as we looked in the tent through the window but it was empty.

Who killed Patrick, and why is he hiding out here?
It is good idea to follow the beach out to this one, because the inland route at the moent is just swampish.
A really relaxing walk and well worth the seeking. but when I got to the GZ it seems someone has set up a camp only about 2 meters away from the cache. a pretty permanent looking camp, too. I called out a few times but for the present it looked unattended, so i grabbed the cache, signed the log quickly and swapped out a hammer head tuna for an apolousa horse.
Thanks for the great cache... These are the ones I love and the reason I cache. well done Madstars.

Day two of theheadchef and spikeymikey's excellent adventures to Nelson Bay and as usual I found the easy path in and got there ahead of spikeymikey, long enough to pitch my tent as can be seen in the photo's......seriously though the whole time I was there I was waiting for some Cambodian druglord to jump out of the bushes and take to us with an MK7 because it was harvest time.....how close were we to Nimbin here? Took nothing, left a pair of stained undies.

Brilliant little spot. Got sooooo many cuts on my feet. Lucky my feet are stronger than most though shoes would've been nice. Tripped through a thorn vine, got a 3inch splinter from driftwood and slashed across my ankle from a tree barb to mention a few
Spent the day caching at Port MADSTARS with Mini Cash Man.
Well this was an adventure. We marched out to the end of the point and got close to the GZ.
Pretty thick bush out there and plenty of trees with rocks under them.
Attacked from the other side and was following the arrow and not paying attention to my surrounds.
I was standing on the cache when I finally looked up to see a tent and big campsite pitched in the middle of the trees.
I yelled out and luckily no one was home so I logged the cache and got it back.
Not sure what the camp is for but it was well established with plenty of use by the looks of things.
Thanks MADSTARS.

Very hot day and only a slight breeze out on the point after a short stroll around the waters edge.
Had to use a bit of stealth as a muggle was working on his boat moored nearby. Nice quiet area.

#3/25 for the weekend. Up from Sydney took my cousin out to find some caches. He loves oysters so I thought he would enjoy this one. Well we looked and looked, fortunately it was low tide and an ideal time of the day. It seemed that I was looking in the wrong place, then David dissappeared and yelled out "I found it". Will I was blown away. He thought ouside the square and found it. TNLH.

Our last cache find on our weekend away, and it was a great one.
We didn't expect this walk to be so challenging. Then again, maybe we should have kept to the water's edge all the way through...
We stumbled upon a campfire site near the cache, but no muggles were in sight on this lovely sunny afternoon.
Thanks for a great spot and an interesting path to the cache.

It was hot and nobody was appropriately attired for this one, so after some whining from the kids we were pretty quick to give up.
The fact that the boys stumbled across a few metre long snake skin within metres of GZ (we think) certainly helped with the speed of departure.
Will return better equiped for this one
Thanks anyway

We both had the day off so we decided to do our own little ‘invasion’ of Port Stephens. Our first full on all day effort. The point was very exposed to the wind which made the going hard at times. Once we found our way off the beach the cache was soon in hand. TFTC. [Cache 98]

One of my favourites for the day, for the wander along through the mangroves. I remember remarking to my caching mates McPhan, RexTrex and BigON that we don't see this sort of scenery in Canberra - which goes for most of the caches across this long weekend. Thanks MADSTARS.
A great opportunity to explore this wee peninsula. Team McWinTrexON had a bit of an act finding the right hole through the shrubs into the final GZ - which avoided all the prickly stuff. A good defence! Thanks MADSTARS.
Another excellent location for a cache and thoroughly enjoyed the walk. It reminded me of a fishing trip to Darwin

Found on our Newcastle / Port Stephens invasion from Canberra, Adelaide and Tassie!
The tide was well out when we hunted for this, so the area looked nothing like the map on the GPS! In fact, according to the garmin, I was walking on water! Mind you, I could tell there is water here often, as on occasion I sunk into the mud! - Great walk, great cache!

My notes say that the sun was starting to set as we wandered out to find this cache, but I think it must have been still some way off because we saw a magnificent sunset later at another cache some distance away. We broke into two groups to approach this cache - fortunately the tide was still low, so I didn't get wet on my choice of route - an interesting wander through the mangroves. TFTC.
2133. Really enjoyed the stroll out to this one. Love mangrove swamps so this was heaven. Interesting that prickly pear is out here as I don't recall seeing it elsewhere in the area. Than again it's a plant and as a bloke, I shouldn't even know what it's called.

With the cubby building crew on strike today, we had the place to ourselves. It was a slow walk out as someone decided to go barefoot but was an easy walk as it was low tide.

Well how good is this we drive all this way on a long weekend get caught and catch other cachers, seem to hot on the heals as another Team (ruffasgutts4x4) and believed that this cache would be a gone. We stopped by a few other cachers along the way and made no attempt to race for any FTF's.
Found ourselfs a close parking spot and headed of along the waters edge (low tied mades this and easy walk) to the point of the headland. After a short scraching around Code1 came up with the goods.
As any good virgin hunter would do we say thanks to cache owner for bringing us here as with out there hides we would not of visited any of these magical places.
An eppic weekend and a great time was had see GC1HDXT for more details of our epic journey.

Found the GZ crawling with a dozen muggle kids turning the place upside down in their quest to build Australia's best cubby in the scrub. Rather than help them in either building the cubby or finding 'treasure' we retired to try again another time.
