Logs
Found this cache on a lovely outing with a partner- we were observed by three beautiful big Kereru as we signed the log and checked out the cool trackables inside the cache. It was an unseasonably warm day so it was lovely wandering around the area and checking out the new jetty We took the special fish geocoin but left the other cool TB's for someone else to collect and move on. Thanks for the cache in a lovely spot
Found with Gummi_Venus. After checking out the restored pier, we made the short walk over to this cache. Satisfying container size! x2 TBs in from me, x1 from GV.
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat, nice wee walk to the cache (watch out for sea goblins) and glad to be able to drop a TB in!
An enjoyable wander along this track today. I thought I was looking for a "small" cache, so very surprised when I found it. All quiet here today so easily completed the log signing undisturbed. tftc
A nice easy find even though my GPS didn't like the clouds and trees today. I love your caching name cakemonster! Unfortunately there were no swaps left in the cache, just a reminder for newbies that you trade items rather than take them, putting something in of equal or greater value than what you take out. I didn't have any with me to restart the stash in this cache today sorry.
I was last here 11 years and 2 months ago after visiting the cafe up the hill for lunch. Back then it was a DNF and I'm certain that house wasn't there. The cache was replaced and the kids hadn't been born yet but today we're all here where they made a quick find on a surprisingly warm and sunny winters day. Thanks Cakemonster, your cache is in good condition.
Great swaps, thanks! Found this cache while having a car wash at Governors Bay School
After waking from Allandale to Governor's Bay we needed a refuel at the cafe before attempting this as a slight detour on our way back. The track is open and while a little rough perfectly navigable from the jetty end. More than can be said for the jet itself, which seems to getting worse and worse. But great to see a good sized cache in good condition. Tftc.
Eldest son was taking part in sailing from over at Cass B so I decided to make the most of the early start to my day and drive around Lyttelton Harbour. Something I have been wanting to do for a while but no one else in the family wanted to do. Far too long sitting in the car.
My plan was to drive as far as possible around the harbour and then walk to the three caches I was focused on getting. That way I would know how much time I had to get back in time to pick my son up. The one thing with solo caching is you need to drive and navigate at the same time. Before driving off from the previous cache I had a quick look at the map to see where the next one was. This one looked like it would be easy to locate with out having to check my device often.
The last time I visited the jetty was while I was out caching and I caught a sight of Margaret Mahy but didn't want to intrude on her privacy by saying hi. That time we were able to drive all the way down the hill and there were hardly any cars around. This time there were lots of people and cars and the road was closed just past the bridge so well up the hill from the jetty. Compared to the section of walk way I was on earlier where cyclists went past, this area was very uneven with numerous steps.
Time was passing and I had had a successful day so this was to be the last hunt before going and meeting my son. There was much more of the hint object than I expected approaching gz so I ended up just putting my stuff down and doing a proper search of the area. While invisible from above it was quickly spotted from the side. Cache signed, travel bug removed, cache replaced and I was back up on top just in time for a couple of walkers to arrive on the scene. The view is now mostly blocked by the tree branches but it was still a lovely spot to visit. Thanks for placing this cache.

Quickly found on an afternoon stroll. Access to the track is still a bit tricky because of the partial collapse of jetty road. Best approached from the Sandy Bay end.
TFTC! The path to the cache is currently closed, but there is still beach access to path
TFTC - entry to the walkway off the road is currently closed due to a road slippage but managed to get down to the cache with no worries or danger
Looked everywhere but the spot it was in. Really obvious when you see it

FITW ... a whole bunch of geocachers at the CITO event
Someone got the box out and I eventually made it to the logbook to sign it
Had a good view at the Jetty - it doesn't look too good!
This is my #5000 traditional cache find!

Great location! Lovely path, would have missed out if it wasn't for the cache.
Tftc! (No pen so couldn't write in the log)

Hmm! Yep under the boardwalk. Nice find on way home from a holiday weekend on the peninsula. Tftc
Cache was lying in plain sight, so three3trees and I tried to hide it a little better in the same spot. Muddy walk, but beautiful place! Tftc
The path was narrower I though but we all managed there. The Jetty was closed from public, but view is still there. TFTC.
Another walk on a track we didn’t know was here! Some cool looking fungi beside the track( see photo). Tftc
Out on a Sunday Mission with Shannonp1. This was a quick easy find on a big day. Nice spot shame the track is deteriorating. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
Got a day pass so went out and about with Surevybase for another crack at some caches out around the bays. Had a few laughs and more than a few scrambles and generally a good time. Thanks to all the CO's for their time in placing these caches. Sorry about the cut and paste. TFTC.
A quick one to finish off the morning's geocaching adventure. Two T5s, a dnf and this. A good day! Thanks for the cache.
Short trip to Governers bay. Beautiful morning for a stroll. Located cache on what is my 30th wedding anniversary. So cheers
Coming back from my travel month I had to find some Caches.
It was only a 5 minutes walk and I got to GZ. The found was even much faster. I have been here already once to search this Cache, but my phone died
Today I went with my GPS, much more save

After a wander to Allendale this was a small diversion with the male kids, the females in the party just wanted to rest up in the car. A bit more bumpy that the Allendale track, the little guys had fun jumping up and down steps and on the slippery mud bits. Cheers
Visiting my son in New Zealand we're from the UK so had to find 1 cache before we leave. Tftc Rocky & parkypie.
It has been far too long since our last find. This was a nice walk with the kids. TFTC.
