TFTCOut & about with geo hubby Animal62 on this rather warm Friday, seeking some more smiley faces for our maps. I swear the flies out here have quadrupled since last year, the moment you exit the car, you get them swarming around you. Not even the Aerogard can save you, lol

**Found whilst on Yorke Peninsula for the weekend** Big GrinIt was fantastic to be on the Yorke after quite a few years. In Port Hughes for a couple of nights with GoodLook and TheDame. We wandered over here to make the find after attending the nearby Welcome to the Yorke Valley Dam event. Big GrinThe thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more that a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less traveled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be.Wink I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I have usually cached on my own.The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the fields of canola beautiful, the coffee shops wonderful and the company fabulous. Big Grin I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Thank you Sydneykiwi for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin- P*Took*: Nothing but photos*Left*: Nothing but foot prints.**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Big GrinCache on! Cool**#19256**

quick find. Found with Mogni and JJ52. All logs stamped as JAMS. It was a day when the JAMS crew got together again or at least three out of the five of us. Plan A was to do the Abandoned railway trail on e-bikes but Allister is out with injury so, Plan B was a day the three of us ( the remianing one is STILL on holiday, that is a dam long holiday ) and host a CITO in propect ( i need a CITO in that LGA ) on sunday and find caches " in that general area ), Mogni decided we needed to attend a event on the yorke's on saturday. So Plan C was born. Off to the Yorke's it was, the first cache found was in Kulpara and then working down to Port Victoria then over to the Welcome to the Yorke Valley Dam event and some tasty food provided and then some more caching to our overnight accommodation in Adrossan. Sunday saw us caching along the coast on the way home, somehow taking a detour through Mallala before getting to prospect to host Cane Reserve Clean up CITO, I even got a cacher from England at the CITO. 80 finds plus labs for the weekend away, it wasn't about the numbers, it was about a relaxing time away. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced. Found with Mogni and JJ52. All logs stamped as JAMS. Day 6 and our last push to finish caching Gone Fishn’ trail on Yorke Peninsula. As always added on a few off trail trads with Wollaston and Liz&Bruce.

Wearing gloves and gators as usual it’s a later than normal start, stopping in at Minlaton for coffee. Even though it’s cloudy and threatening rain for most of the morning, the sun was starting to poke through, it’s getting warmer and the less tourist friendly wildlife are on the move. Adding to the thrill of finding each cache was the view of perfectly grown cereal crops almost harvest ready forming a tapestry across the hills, some starting to crop with mega sized harvesters. Along the way were the odd blue tongue lizards, huge centipedes, camel statues, flighty spiders, the remains of early settler homes looking forlorn in the middle paddocks, horses and alpacas, birds nesting and singing away, the obligatory late afternoon flies, and the biggest beetles, and of course what would a cache day be without upsetting a few ants, even managed to snap quite a few pictures today.

So much effort has gone into setting up these trails, today’s trail was an easy run, pulling up and jumping out, spotting the rock, post or sticks and quickly on to the next one, unlike the previous days where a few caches were tricky to find, some were under bushes that are now trees, some were found in undergrowth that has overwhelmed the hide, some were under rocks when they were hinting to look in a bush or post or tree. For the rest, most were easy, some were duplicated and some were missing. We may have added to rock piles making a couple of cairns.

Maintenance was done by replacing full or wet logs and missing or broken containers all completed with CO permission.

Thanks to the many hands and minds taking time to set out hides and showing us your part of the world

17-Sep-21
Stopped here but it was a bit so quick find, the cache wasn’t in the first place I looked but it was in the last, cache is a micro not a regular

A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.

Thanks for the cache

Please do keep sanitising! Keep a safe Distance. Exercise. Cache. Eat. Cache. Repeat. No dancing!

Well, it looks like Mother in law retreated from me. I found ants. I found trees. I found ants. Did I say I found ants. I would like to say I found the cache but, alas, not even a sign of a cache. PAF but that was not even helpful. I used a wacky stick to pick and prod... Maybe I was Geo looking for the wrong size. Anyway, a passing truck though it was funny I should be squatting in the bush and bipped me as he went passed! Maybe next time I will remove the blue bruise on my map

05-Dec-19
It was time for another Thursday trek with Sushilord, SA Sewer Rats and JJ52. On a whim they decided to head to the Yorke and try and pick up a FTF or two. They got two, so the obvious response was more caching! This one is showing its age and the eventual unsuitability of this type of cache container.

Time to move out of camp and head furhter north again, picking up some caches along the way. Couldn't take the caravan along some tracks, so felt a bit restricted today. Plenty of other caches were available to keep us happy. Found a couple of multi caches as well as a selection of traditionals, while travelling along mostly back roads rather than highways.
This cache was a very quick grab and had to be, as the ants were absolutely everywhere and biting. After signing the replacement had to be equally as quick. Thanks to Team Murray Bridge for this cache placement.

Having a lot of fun caching around the Yorke Peninsula with goingplaces2. All the caches that we found today had two more names added to the log. They were then put back in their place. This was a nice easy find. TFTC.

04-Sep-18
We arrived on the York Peninsula on Sunday and have eased ourselves in Maitland to date while we make our assault on a number of the power trails here. There are many.
Today was day 2 and we managed a further 250 finds on the trail for Kulpara to Warooka.
En route was also collected a number of caches additional to the trail and then those on the road back to town.
Mrs SKI was not impressed with this one. With both the lodgings and the cache!
Her son-in-law also happens to be called Murray!
I just smiled and tried not to laugh out loud!

A Rat and a snake went caching on the Yorkes.
Quick find by the slithering snake. TFTC

11-Jul-18
Another day on the Yorke with the Rat seeking more smilies in this part of our state. The weather was a tad cool and a sprinkle of H2O failed to dampen our spirits.

No mother in law with us today so there was no nagging either. Concerned with the new works in progress near GZ thinking that it may have gone, the cache was found a few meters away from harm. The container however has seen better days and needs to be replaced. TFTC

11-Jun-18
On the way to the nearby winery, made a quick find. A grader is doing clearing behind the cache bush.... hope it survives! TFTC

31-May-18
ANTS - your guardians are too savage. I made the mistake of putting my keys and GPS on the ground. The ants attacked them, and I needed to use a stick to rescue the items. The ants hung onto the items and some were hard to remove. They climbed on me too and I spent some time removing them from my socks, shoes and trouser legs. In fact, a couple of hours later I found a couple on me. They had accompanied me into the car. The area has been recently ploughed and this just missed the cache and its bush. Likely an ants' nest got ploughed too, but because of that I didn't notice it, as I usually would. The cache is just okay. A new cache would improve it. TFTC Sydneykiwi.

Day 4
Last full day on the York. With the end in sight of the big trail we pushed on and managed to clear it off the map. This gave us some spare time to cache some more around other towns in this area

Found with sharkiefan

A Big week was planned to travel around South Australia, staying in Minlaton, Tarlee and Adelaide. We cache along a number of Trails, managed to grab a few off the beaten track, some well known caches and the odd one that
came up on the map as we were travelling around.

It ended up being a massive week of 2960 odd kilometers travelled, with day find counts of 25, 256, 361, 318, 66, 205, 104 and 76 (yep thats 1411 for the 8 days)
1062 micro, 238 small, 60 Regular, 45 large, 3 Virtual and 3 Other.

Found with FUF009. Logs were signed SFF9 or F9SF depending on who was the finder. Usually dependent on what side of the road the cache was on.
Today is day 4 of our 8 day caching trip to SA. Today's goal is to finish the Gone Fishn' series and then take a look around some of the towns. This was one of 318 caches found today.
This was a much more enjoyable day as the end of the trail was in sight.
It's a lovely area and we were happy to get to see more of it.
Apologies for the generic log, if there were any issues with the cache, it'll be mentioned at the start of my log.

TFTC Team Murray Bridge.
I assume you mean on the ants nest? LOL All good at GZ.

21-Apr-18
The Gone Fishn' series has been on the radar for quite some time but who wants to take it on solo. [xx(] Not this little black duck. Wink So when I got an invite from mogni to start the trail on the 18th April I jumped at the chance. We were joined by SA Sewer Rats that day and we made it to the trail at 9.00 a.m. and cached till 5.30 p.m and got from #037 and conveniently finished at #245 Cool
We discovered quite a few things. It can be a bit boring. You need to leave the trail every now and then or go bonkers. [B)][B)] Stamping two names and writing one other takes a long time. Surprised
Only three days later and mogni and I are back again, this time with BratKat replacing SA Sewer rats and simply using the group name GOTHS to stamp the log books. Boy did that save some time. Wink
This time we also left the trail for a big break in Maitland for a pub lunch and some other caching.[8)]
Unless otherwise stated it was a case of:

Stop- find cache - sign - move on. Repeat. Smile [:o)]

Time to head into Maitland for a well earned Pub Meal. But first of course we had to stop for a few on the way in and then again on the way out and back to the trial. There were just a few ants when we approached but visions from Indiana Jones started to cloud my mind. Surprised Grab the cache, move away to sign or be dragged into the nest! [:o)] Bugger, I have to go and put it back now before doing the new dance craze - the ant stomp! [8]

**Thanks Sydneykiwi for this cache. ** Big Grin

Another big day out working towards a milestone. We were targetting the big powertrail but wanted to mix it up a bit and find a few others too. I had my closest encounter with a snake, which fortunately saw me as I didn't see it until it was heading underground.
Thanks to Sydneykiwi from mogni Big Grin

Found on the 03/08/2017 at 1:39:00 PM.

On the final day of caching Yorke Peninsula with J+J. We had to stop earlier last night than expected due to the dreadded rain started to fall. Unknown to us in the morning was just how much rain fell! One local farmer later told us there was 15mm of rain overnight.
The extra water made our caching trip wet, and very muddy. The final highlight was having to be towed out off a muddy road by an 8 wheeled tractor!

Thanks for the all the caches.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Thanks Sydneykiwi for placing this cache.

Today Gary and I spent some more time in Innes National Park and then we took our time travelling to Moonta. After a long day of walking we certainly enjoyed a delicious dinner at our hotel near the jetty in Moonta and an early night.

Some of the cache hides were easy, others were more challenging, but overall we enjoyed yet another wonderful day with fantastic weather.

Thanks for the cache Sydneykiwi Smile

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^] Cool

We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Found at 1101. Found the cache after a search and found the ants that othere cacher's were complaining about. Today must have been a public holiday for them because they didn't other me at all, may be it might be the chilly weather. Didn't find anything suitable for mother in law to be housed. I did check out a pile of rubble over the fence which appeared to be from a building. but it was too up market foe any mother in laws that I know. Beside if they were housed there they might frighten off the ants. TFTC.

PS I'd rather the ants

That's one bad mother in law!!!

Stopped by to grab this one and were assaulted by thousands of bullants. Their nest is about 5 metres wide....and they are all very vigilant. We decided to give it a big missSad

Thanks anyway Sydneykiwi[^]

Well she really is a rotten Mother In Law - I was hoping she would invite me in for a cuppa but no she set a boobie trap of Hundreds and Hundreds of Big Black Ants that nipped me all over and then proceeded to invade the GeoMobile. Suscoe was heading northwards today in convoy with Phetlern as our time in Marion Bay had come to an end.
We started the finds at Brentwood, then to Minlaton and then on to Maitland before picking up a couple of caches along the road to Port Wakefield.
It was a sunny day with a good range of caches found along the way.
The roads were quiet today which made for easy stops along the roads and around the towns.
Thanks to Sydneykiwi for this cache, we were impressed with this area.

Found with Zobo04, Borisb&Natasha and Bounty Trackers. Heading on our way to The York Peninsula for Easter and to catch up with the rest of our group. Sorry for the late logs life sometimes has an uncanny way of getting in the way. I was busy trying to get in front of KTCvic whom we are meeting up with. So lets get as many caches as we can along the way so for 5 minutes I will have more finds. Nothing like a little friendly competition. Thanks for making our trip fun and TFTC

Geo Nerds Yorke Peninsula caching exposition consist of Borisb&Natasha, Zobo04,De Ja Vu, KTCvic, Gonefishen07, Velocachu & Bounty Trackers.
Gonefishen07, Zobo04, Borisb&Natasha and myself Bounty Trackers left on Wednesday morning with one objective, to get Gonefishen07 cache finding count higher than KTCvic who was about 100 cache in front. We spent 2 days straight chasing caches all the way from Gippsland in Victoria to The York Peninsula in SA, where we finally got 8 caches ahead of KTCvic. The smile on Gonefishen face said it all ( I think the comment was made CATCH ME NOW Trenty ).

Along our journey we made a side trip to Gawler to get the multi Fort Knox cache which was on our hit list. What a brilliant cache. Well worth the detour. It will be getting a favorite point from me.
On Friday Velocachu, KTCvic & De Ja Vu graced up with there presents and it was time to start the Yorke Peninsula Geo Art Starting at Hook then Jellyfish, Fish, Anchor, some of Fish Tales,Sammy Starfish and most of the Boat, we then did Sally starfish, and the rest of Fish Tales and then finished with the leftover boat.

Milestone achieved

Velocachu 500
Zobo04 2000
Borisb&Natasha 2000
De Ja Vu 3000
KTCvic 4000
Gonefishen07 4000
Bounty Trackers 4000

Thanks to all the cache owners for the effects in placing such a great series we just loved it.

It was with great excitement that I headed to South Australia with the Geo Nerds consisting of Gonefishen07, Bounty Trackers, KTCvic, de ja vu, Zobo04 & Velocachu.
I have never cached outside of Victoria, nor in a group and I was really looking forward to it.
Every single one of us achieved a very memorable milestone made even more special because they were achieved with very special friends.
Thank you so much to the many COs for the time and effort in placing their caches. I'm sure it enables many groups like ours to get together, have lots and lots of fun and form life long friendships, all in the quest for little pieces of treasure.

Camped at Maitland showgrounds, and ventured to pick up a few caches in the area.
A pleasant drive in the country and we enjoyed the scenery.

We picked up a good variety of caches, some a little trickier to find than others.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sydneykiwi, for us and others to find.

Day 2 of our trip and today's plan is to head along the west side and centre of the peninsula, once again the weather was perfect, its great to be back on the Yorke peninsula again and what was suppose to be a overnight stay ended up being a 2 nights and 3 days stay on the Yorke peninsula, we managed to find quite a few while here and on our third day we had to head back earlier than planned after car issues, the weather was very pleasant while here and we look forward to returning back here to keep finding more caches, we thank all the COs for placing these caches for us to find and making our visit very enjoyable. Second day of my work road trip I decided to break up the drives between jobs with a cache or two Very Happy

There were a few cars flying past while I was searching but that was about it was pretty quiet, that included in the van with me.. I had no one to drop off and leave here LOL

Thanks for the cache Sydneykiwi. Very Happy

Relatively easy find. Mrs Stavros found it quickly while hubby was ferreting around under the wrong bush. Tftc

Last one for the day as Sun is setting & we have to get to Wallaroo, so glad it was a quick find. Cache is a bit fragile. TFTC SL

Found it with CherryRose on our 4th day of our 10 days of caching fun on Yorke Peninsula and the Barossa Valley. I am a mother in law and hopefully I wouldn't get left here. Log very wet. TFTC TNLNSL.
