Find #: 3,580Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Grey autumn morningCache condition: GoodI was in the area, and noticed this cache nearby. I wandered over and saw a likely hiding spot, so was happy to quickly find the container. I was a bit surprised to find the log empty, so not sure if there are multiple containers? With a warm Australia Day public holiday on the cards, a plan was made to get out early to the water playground. And the water playground was chosen based on geocache accessibility.
Cache was found with Crzymelly & TeamPQS.
With the puzzle solved some time ago, but without coordinates being the goal, a guess was made as to the cache location. We pulled up nearby and the obvious structure was searched. With clues in hand, it was obviously found in the last place we looked. Log was dry, but seems to have been mould;y and moist in the past. Our initials were scribbled on and the cache returned as found.

Some good and succesfull caching in the Parklands and Quakers Hill area. Had solved a lot of puzzles in preparation and also prepared myself for a lot of bike riding. Just had not counted on the weather not playing. Although mostly cloudy and only a few drops here and there, it was the heavens opening up about half way through the day, only 400 meters from the car but enough to get soaking wet!!

Catching up on logging all my finds since i joined in July. I like seeing these, tftc!
Our last cache for the day after cycling a total of 21km. We were tired but not defeated. It had been a difficult day - several DNFs but a dozen finds. Can we finish the day on a positive note? A quick check of possible locations and there it was. GR8. TFTC blacktownman.
Now, to find the car. Oops, Dan forgot to mark a waypoint on the car's location. "I remember the way. Just remind me what state we're in."

Had a bit of time before catching up with a friend to tick off a few smileys she had already found. Recent torrential rains had closed many of the tracks and ring roads to both foot and vehicular traffic due to flooding debris so had to “WalknGrab (WnG)” rather than “PnG”. This was one solved from home and high enough to be one of those still safely in situ or accessible.
We figured this one out the other day but the park was closed due to the hot winds. TOS
Day was another day and added our names into the log. TFTC

The caching day with goingplaces2 was mainly to pick up the ones around Nurragingy. This was a good day and we found what we looked for. All were in good condition with both the containers and the logs. There were no problems in finding each one. TFTC.

This one had been on my radar for a while now but I really find myself in this area.
Today, before a sneaky peak event at Sydney Zoo and the GCNSW Christmas Event , we passed the likely item and started our search.

Today we headed out to Narragingy Reserve at Doonside for the Geocaching NSW 10th Anniversary Christmas Party Event, catching a 280 bus to Chatswood and a T1 train to Doonside, then walking the short distance down Cross Street to the reserve. And after enjoying the fun filled Event we joined some other Event attendees in a pleasant “cache collecting” stroll around the reserve, before returning to Doonside Railway Station for the return journey homeward. This was the 2nd of 9 finds for the day.
We had figured out the puzzle before arriving at the reserve, and so it was to be a nice quick find after attending the nearby GCNSW Christmas Event. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks blacktownman for the puzzle & cache.

Lovely event at the Geocaching NSW Christmas party, then a walk around the park with some mates to find some more. A great way to spend a Sunday. TFTC.
I did have a go at solving this prior to leaving this morning but something didn’t click for me. But then when I arrived on site I got lucky with parking and the had an ah ha moment. Spent a few moments looking in all the usual places and hoorah I got it. More arse than class though. BTW, I had no problem locating the webpage with the required info. Thanks blacktownman.
Thanks for the cache, we are going to visit in the new year and are setting things up. The link on your webpage is down but a I found a great site with lots of info and history.
We found this cache during our walking tour in a nice park today.

Was great to find this one today! I came in August 2018, the hour before Turnbull was booted in fact (that happened as I searched for The Blacksmiths Hut, just over the way), and although was confident I was searching the right places, was unable to log the find. I was keen for the couple of years unloved this guy was holding so was bummed it was missing. Alhough we usually log DNFs, i didnt get around to logging this one for some reason... perhaps discouraged seeing it was an "offline CO". I do recall planning a msg for them, but pretty sure I never sent one thru.
In any case, it was great to see this hide has been since adopted and resurrected. A very quick park and grab this morning, but satisfying nonetheless! TFTC

Out completing challenge caches with oldmorty.
Finding ourselves at GZ, we realised we’d walked by the Aussie Icon. Should have realised what we were looking for as we completed the Great Aussie Icon Hunt #3 last week while attending the Clear Waters Mega in Queanbeyan.

Puzzle an easy solve with my good friend Mrs Google. Wasn't actually going to look for this one today but we happened to be walking over to the splash park to have a look when I spied a suspicious nearby structure.. hey are we near that mystery cache?...We are!.. so we went over and had a look and had the cache a few minutes later. Thanks!
I failed to find this one some months ago, probably because it had gone missing, but I came back again today for another attempt and made a nice quick find.
Did a google search and identified the Aussie Icon immeddiately. Attended GZ and saw the smaller version first, followed by the larger one nearby.
Searched in all the likely places systematically, but was unable to locate . Maybe I am blind? Can anyone confirm it is still there?

Like many others, I found the mini version of the Aussie Icon quite easily. Upon a more more careful look in the surrounding area, I found what I believe to the be actual Aussie Icon. With the help of Geodad, we conducted a careful search around the icon and in what we would think would be obvious hiding spots. Unfortunately, we came up empty. Not sure if it is our inexperience, or if the cache had been muggled....

I've wanted to come and find this one for ages and ages. We've lived here since December 2014 and as soon as we did, we looked at the local caches and very early on we had wanted to come to the area. As time went on though, we found ourselves caching less and less and in the past week, we decided we wanted to be caching the way we used to when we first came to caching and so we went out on our anniversary on Thursday and placed our first cache out in 12 months.
The last cache we placed had been muggled and so the love of placing them out just dissipated.
We went out again yesterday and ended up with 5 or 6 caches but the best bit was that we were out until 9:30 pm caching which we hadn't done in ages.
Today was the day to grab this cache and though I was a bit confused with the method being that it was an unknown, I was sure i had the means to find it and so we headed out.
We arrived and went to a smaller version of the actual cache location, noticed early on it couldn't be there, looked around and saw a better version.
After this, we knew it could only but in a few locations and after feeling our way around, the cache was found in around 5 minutes.
With the gates about to close in 15 minutes, we were in a rush to get the cache signed and move over to the other area for some extra caching so we signed the log and quickly got out of there.
Thanks ruffasgutts4x4 for the nice little cache. The kids loved being near this structure.

The puzzle told us clearly what we were to look for, so along with Phantom Cyclist we came and parked close by. Had to out wait a working muggle who came along before being able to check the type of places where it would probably be. This idea was successful and cache was soon in hand and with both names on the log, all was returned to where it belonged. Thank you to ruffasgutts4x4 for placing this cache near an Aussie icon.
Went out with goingplaces2 to find a few caches this was the first find of the day. Worked out what the Aussie icon was and was able to park close to GZ. After a short search soon had cache in hand. We both signed the log and the cache was replaced as found. Thank you ruffasgutts4x4 for placing this cache.
Found it, the co-ords had me getting further away from the GZ so I doubled back & made the find
Thanks for bringing me here I have not been in this park for years and I never knew this was here. TFTC.
Out with JJCC and shanoz for a cache run in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going.
In the area today so we parked the car close by. Having spotted the mini-me version on our drive in, we soon noticed the original in all its splendor and impressiveness. Walking up we found the cache in the first place we looked. With the cache safely in hand, we all signed the log before replacing everything as found. 1st of 2 today - Rooty Hill & Glendenning
I decided to clear a couple of field puzzles out west today, coming here first. I had already worked out was the Aussie icon was several weeks ago, and so it was just a case of finding it. Today, as I came in to the nearest carpark, I saw what I thought was the icon, but a lot smaller than I had expected...problem was, the whole area was swarming with muggles.
Luckily, I looked further afield and saw the better version of the icon - now yer talkin'! I tried a few of the more likely hides, and eventually got the goods. First finder since 27 August - I should have left it 3 days to claim 6 months for the unloved challenges. Oh well, never mind! Signed, replaced and then off to my next target, "Puzzle Box#2 Tree Series: Paperbark Tree(Melaleuca)". TFTC.

Decided to head west towards the Western Sydney Parklands this afternoon to grab a few caches not grabbed before (or newly placed since last here). Looked for seven and found six.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Walked from my lat find, having previously worked out what I was looking for. And then I found it. No muggles close by allowed a good search, and after a few minutes I had located the hide. CIH.
Took a short distance away to complete signing duties, then replaced. Nice and simple.

Had a bit of time spare while enroute to Penrith so exited the M7 and headed to Nurragingy Reserve for a bit of a look, having never been there before ... the fact that there were a few caches there was significant too ... The Aussie icon was easily spotted as I approached the posted coordinates and after parking nearby, it took no time at all to make the find .... which is more than I can say for the other 3 I unsuccessfully had a look (albeit quickly) for here this afternoon.
Thanks for this cache ruffasgutts, and for the lone smiley I picked up here today.

This was the only find for today. I was going to attempt another cache but the causeway was closed so I decided to give this one another go. I worked out the puzzle a long time ago but on the first attempt to find the cache, I thought it was where the posted coordinates were. On my second attempt, I was looking at the right GZ but didn't really know where or what to look for. Today, I was not going to leave without signing the log. I managed to park right near GZ and after considering the logs and photos, I determined the type of hide. I was able to search more meothodically and soon had CIH. SL. TFTC.

Arwen21 found it first, then Felix and I were inspired to find it. The log is almost too damp to write on. (maybe I shouldn't have been surprised to see a number of small frogs in the other items of the kind in which the cache is hidden...)Thanks!

A serendipitous find . We were actually on our way to a new challenge cache nearby, when I saw the puzzle cache symbol up ahead on the car GPS. I thought the GPS was trying to do one of its weird things where it tries to get as close as it can to the cache. So I turned towards the symbol, then realised it was a different cache. Bikerbuddy had already done this one, and suggested it was high time I figured it out.
So I did! And found the cache.
The log is soaked. And rapidly turning into papier mâché. Needs some TLC from the cO.
Thanks

First cache of the day, and my first puzzle cache _ever_. I loved the cache container, very nice! Log and cache are both in perfect condition. Now off to find a few more caches to the north. TFTC ruffasgutts4x4!
Worked out the area, just didn't have time to find, as they were closing the gates.
It was such a beautiful afternoon I had to get out into the sunshine. So I checked my Geocache map and decided to head down the M7 bike track and pick up some caches through the green corridor of Western Sydney Parklands.
It was getting late in the day and I was starting to get weary. The GPS had me in a location with nothing remarkable to spot, let alone an Aussie icon. Head down I checked around a bit. The I looked up and had the Doh! moment. That would be it. At GZ the GPS had me 39m away!!! Just as well it's bleedingly obvious.
Quickly had CIH and did the signing duties.
