Oh dear…. Well we collected the clues and worked out the coordinates. And like others it took us to an unusual spot. But on reading previous logs we felt we were in the right place. Alas, we also searched for around an hour, and could not find the prize. We were pretty sure we were in the right spot, on reading little hints in previous logs. But we are thinking this may have been muggled… as we found a dirty magnet attached to the metal on the gate
Nevertheless we enjoyed the hunt

Swings and roundabouts.
Following on from Mr Sims_family's birthday celebration in Ceres we found all of the nearby caches.
A couple of extras targeted on our way home.
Our first DNF for the day here.
Reading the past few logs it is clear that the cache may not be where it was initially hidden.
Being with a previous finder the location was searched very thoroughly to no avail.
We shall watch and return.

What a great little spot. After finding the coordinates and using the hint as a guide we found the cache shortly after. Signed the log and replaced back.
I found these beach shacks by accident one day, not long after I moved back to Geelong. They’ve always intrigued me. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mad Max. Maybe it’s about time I watched it, even if it’s just to see these shacks. It’s a bit cold down here today but refreshing. There’s not many people out, just a pelican cruising on by the pier. TFTC
Down this way today with Sean.75 and kenbryl doing a recon mission for a fishing spot. We took the opportunity to find some caches along the way. As with all the other Mad Max caches Sean.75 gives us the story line and points to where things have happened etc. And usually he stops short and says to us Óh, you still haven't watched it have you?' Naa, not yet!! LOL! A nice easy multi and find. TFTC
Find 2200. Woohoo! As with all the Mad Max caches we've found, Sean.75 still asks if we watched the movies yet, lol. Soon!! tftc
Out this way with kenare and kenbryl for the day after being stuck at home. Awesome!! I absolutely love this series, going around to all the film sites of one of the greatest Australian movies ever made! Cigc. Tftc
Having completed our early breakfast, we thought we could head out and find a few more caches in the beautiful weather we had today. We had been to the End of Civilisation and had resolved the coordinates for GZ some time ago. We found a park nearby and made our way to GZ. We looked around all the logical spots and read the hint. With the hint in mind, we found the cache on the ground nearby. We signed the log and then placed the cache where the hint suggests it should be. We also cleaned up some of the rubbish that has accumulated at GZ. Thank you for this cache tackle_head.
Our first cache in the series and this is quite an unusual area. I can see it being the perfect location for the Mad Max movie and we spent some time exploring before collecting the clue and heading off to GZ.
Needed to wait for passing cars, then Steve made the find in a spot that didn’t match the clue, so after signing the log, we replaced it back to where we think would be the original location.
Thanks for an interesting multi tackle_head.

Love how the family has an outing and we can look for a few caches on the way.
Our first puzzle cache. This one is a nice & easy one. The hardest part was try to access the cache, when there was constantly muggles driving past! Got there in the end! TFTC

Coords had us just off GZ. Searched everywhere we could. Went back and read previous logs, and as previous found says the hint is better used as they suggest.
The log is very wet.
TFTC

After previous log we were a bit concerned.
We looked in what little places it could be then, Mrs Riddell read the hint.
Perhaps the hint should read “under it, Centre”.
It wasn’t reachable from outside the gate.
Mrs Riddell had to enter via the fence onto ?? Private property.
Anyway, it was instant success.
We don’t know if this is it’s original GZ, but we replaced it as found.

Hi there tackle_head.
This is the 4th of 4 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here but we just couldn't locate your cache, so here's a DNF from us.

Finally got around to picking this one up nearly a year after first getting coords from GZ. Ended up taking a friend to Avalon airport after uni today and noticed this cache back in play. A quick detour to GZ in the pouring rain and storms. Ants and mud and water everywhere! Thanks for the cache
Wow, love this one. I have always wondered were this place was ever since the movie. And never expected it to be here, and still intact !!!
Many thanks tackle_head for bringing us out here and showing us this place.
Many thanks tackle_head for bringing us out here and showing us this place.
Bunadoorian and I had worked out the co-ords for this one - and decided to pick it up after our walk around for the Minion series of caches. Bunadoorian had the correct idea and soon had the cache in hand - upsetting lots of ants that had been guarding the cache. I didn't know some of Mad Max was shot here. It never stops seeming to amaze me where the directors/ film crews find the places to film. TFTC and for bringing us here today takle_ head.
A good multi and very interesting. I like the street appeal of the buildings. Also a clever hide but using the hint it made it a lot easier. TFTC.
Sneaky little sucker. We couldn’t quite grasp this one on our fist visit. So we came back here today to get a grip and hook where we may have got the house wrong. Cundalini was handy and pointed out where we dragged the chain. (Sorry couldn’t resist). Cache and log where in our palm in no time. All in great shape.
Just wanted to find a couple of caches today with ilook4geo, to keep the caching hand in practice. Chose some close to home base which looked like they might be easy to find. Cruised past the house this afternoon, noted the numbers, then parked to do the substitution needed. Getting to the final site was no problem and the find was soon made. Another two names were written in the log, all was replaced and we were on our way again. Thank you tackle_head for this nice little multi.
Worked out and found on a short afternoon jaunt with goingplaces2. Numbers worked out well for a quick find. The log was signed and out back as found. TFTC.
Finally. A PAF was required even after 20 mins and 2 lookers. Yes there are ants. Yes you put your finger in. Yes you think you are in the wrong spot.
Mad indeed.
Found on the Parkville mega event round trip. This cache added to the experience.
Thanks tackle_head. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Well i had visited this area a couple of times now but today I had to finally find this cache.
My calculated coordinates took my to an odd spot I thought but I look around anyway but nothing was standing out, after checking the hint I then gathered a retrieval tool as I certainly wasn't putting my finger in there.
I had hooked onto something and pulled it out along with a 1000 ants as well but the main thing that came out was the cache, the log was signed and the cache was put back into its hide minus a few ants.
**Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.**

A bit of difficulty finding this one- and some more when trying to replace it! Log appears full although we didn't fully unroll it. TFTC

As sharkiefan had found this one previously, I had a massive push for where the sneaky cache was located.

This took far longer than it should have after GeoD repeatedly out his fingers on the prize without realising what it was. About third, or fourth, ok maybe fifth time lucky for us.

I couldn’t resist this cache today as my brother, poo-scoop, is a massive mad max fan. I sent him through a “guess where I am photo” and he quickly replied with “Mad Max! Where is it”. Thank you for bringing me here. TFTC tackle_head
25/11/2017 17:57 I took the Ford for a run down to Geelong today, On the way back from the Car show I stopped here as it was one of the Iconic Max caches. Whilst it supposably fairly simple to locate I somehow managed to either get the wrong house number or transpose them wrong.
Had a little geocaching run around the Lara area today.
Nice weather and a Public Holiday in Ballarat meant we had a day to go for an Adventure.
Thanks for placing the cache here for us to find.

While passing through the area, we managed to make a detour, we have never been to this area before so thanks for bringing us here, the youngest member of our team was very interested in seeing the area and its role in the mad max movie, we gathered the required information and between the few cars when no one was around we set off to see if we could make the find, the youngest member of our team made the find, log signed and replaced as found, Thanks for the cache and the fun
As I was driving past the posted coordinates for this cache, it made sense to complete this little multi and tick off another Mad Max Movie cache off the list. Had a little bit of trouble replacing the cache in its hiding spot, however got there eventually. Thanks for the cache!
You had This worked out for ages however every time I had attempted this I fell short. Headed out after an event with thomo31 and was successful. TFTC
Finally found this multi. We were given a hint at the nearby event this morning. Drove to GZ and teamashy retrieved it from the exact same place we looked last week!!! Nice to finally put a smile here. TFTC

Yet another Mad Max cache. We must have most of them by now. This one was in a lovely location. Thanks so much for the history lesson, the cache and bringing us here.
Quick calculations. Then of to find a couple more. Got to gz and it was truly hidden. ..tftc
Never knew this place even existed until tackle head bought me down here for this series
Some nice looking houses/shacks along the strip
Got the info required then on to the final destination and a quick find after using the hint

17/12/2016 8:35:00 AM - The weather forecast for today was good and suggested ideal conditions to go exploring. That's if you like strong winds, cold chills and a speckle of rain in between sunny spells. I think we had every season and today I teamed up with Square_Pegs for a bit of caching and along the way I stopped here to find this cache with good co-ords.
Thanks tackle_head for the adventure.

It has been a while since we attempted a cache in the Mad Max series, so it was good to visit another location from the film. I have been down this way before, but for some reason not to this interesting outcrop. It is quite a different location, and with the answer sorted it was off to GZ for a quick find.
Thanks to Tackle_head for the cache.

Thanks for a nice easy and interesting multi. Loved the final GZ.....gets a favourite from me.
Found while in the area. Not a huge fan of the new movie but loved the old ones. Was assisted in my search by previous finders. Oh so sneaky. Tftc
I must have had a frozen brain on Saturday after the CITO. when this easy hiding place totally eluded me. Today I redeemed myself with an instant find TFTC taxkle head
Out here for a cito today, so had to visit this location and reminisce about the first time i saw the mad max movie (when it first came out)......

Grabbed the clue as I wandered along to,do the minion series, but the weather had deteriorated so much I will come back another day to complete this multi
Love the mad max series. Found this pretty easy testing out a friends etrex I'm borrowing TFTC
I do love these movie trivia-type caches, and always find it fascinating to visit locations used in films.
Another place that would've remained unknown if it weren't for caching.
Gathered the required info, did the sums, and cache was quickly in hand - love when that happens!
Signed log, returned as found. TFTC

Out caching with floppyandjoe. Geochild found this well hidden cache. Thanks. Silkyie.
Found whilst out caching with OutRangerous in the Avalon area. Has been years since I last watched Mad Max but was great to visit where some scenes were shot. TFTC
Today was supposed to be pretty warm but it took quite a while to warm up so I took a road trip to minimize the time spent in the sun. It ended up being really nice with a light breeze blowing most of the day. I headed out to pick up a few challenges I had met and also a couple of puzzles I had solved along with a couple of caches to fill my months found calendar.
As I was slowly driving past this one I managed to grab the numbers required so that the muggles sitting admiring the water right outside the house didn't think I was suspicious. I then made a nice easy find at GZ thanks to the hint.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

With the main festivity of the early morning (arguably the world's longest WWFM event) over in record time, the hardy souls that braved the 3 a.m. meetup dispersed to celebrate with, well, more caching.
This particular cache was on my Must Sign list for this weekend, as it had been missing when I collected the clues after last year's WWFM. Fortunately, today, it was exactly where I'd expected it to be.
Thanks, tackle_head... I enjoyed taking in the scenery last time, and it was well worth the detour for this 15th Mad Max smiley.

We came down from Ballarat today to attend two events in the area. On the way from one event to the other we detoured down to Avalon Beach a collected the info for this multi. What an interesting area. It was a beautifully still day, but I imagine it would get wild and windy down here. Thanks for the hide tackle head.
A very interesting area and very picturesque today on a beautiful still day. Thanks tackle_head, we are enjoying this series and we enjoyed this multi, especially the clever hide.
Found it today with McLookers, Glanville Girls and ST37E. On a day long trip around the area. This one was interesting. Cool multi thanks tackle_head.

and will need to be moved.
Please read the following item on cache saturation
This cache violates the cache saturation portion of the listing guidelines http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachesaturation
which states that caches must be 161 metre from other caches and associated waypoints.
Here's a link to a Knowledge Book Article on using the available tools on Geocaching.com to avoid being too near an existing cache. http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=199
Please don't ask me where the other cache is or how far away your cache is from this one.
People put a lot of effort into these type of caches and it is not my position to devalue their work by supplying waypoint and final information.
Reviewers are not permitted to provide coordinates for hidden stages of other cache listings.
The suggested approach would be to find the other cache(s) that are causing issues with your placement and make note of the location of each of the stages.
This will allow you to relocate your cache elements to a suitable area, respecting the 161 metre guideline.
You can then update your listing and submit for Review.
I've made this listing inactive for the time being, to get it off the review queue.
When you're ready for me to have another look at it, edit the cache and tick the "Yes, the cache is in place and ready to be found" box to re-activate it. If you're not sure what to do have a look here http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 (I have added this cache to my watchlist so I'll see any notes made while the cache is disabled, so if you have any questions please ask)

Our 2nd DNF for the day! We found the house and did the multi but search as we might in the 35 degree sun the cache remained elusive to us even trying to use the hint. We decided to call it a day due to the hot weather and maybe some back a cooler day?? Interesting area that we had not been before.
TFTC tackle head that we may find one day in the future.

Another Mad Max find to add to our list whilst driving out to another cache we confirmed the information that was required. Grabbed out other cache and then followed the co-ords for this one upon arrival at GZ we looked an looked hmmmm hint time bingo. Thanks Tackle head really enjoy your caches
Mad Max.....what a movie!
I was down Geelong way to go to the BBQ event and I thought I would nip in and grab this little multi. I love this part of of the coast, it's just so amazing. It's like time has frozen.
I soon found the required information and headed to GZ. Good news, it's not missing. It was just where it shouldn't have been (caught up amongst other rubbish on the ground).
Anyhow, I signed the log, returned it to its rightful place and headed off. As I did I cracked the window a bit and yelled out "I am the Nightrider. I'm a fuel injected suicide machine. I am the rocker, I am the roller, I am the out-of-controller!"

I finally got out here to the edge of civilisation... what a surreal place, made even more so by the filming happening in the end car park.
Unfortunately, when I checked the location indicated by the simple mathematics, my fingers came up empty. So then I went back to the start to see if I'd made a mistake... nope.
dbelco later confirmed that I'd been on the right track, so it looks like the cache is missing. If I'd had the equipment, I'd have gladly replaced it for you, tackle_head.
