The sign says the River Walk will be closed between 3rd September until October - so maybe this one needs to be temporarily unavailable for the next few weeks.

13-Sep-13
#1709 Well, this was a bit tricky!! The River Walk is currently closed, but we ducked under the orange tape and read the plaques. We found enough info to put the numbers together and find GZ. The log book is damp, but still able to be signed. SL at 5.19pm TN Left: Lego man. TFTC WazzaAndWenches Yes: six multi's completed today - our work here is done!

13-Sep-13
The Shire have decided to do a little digging along the path. Back online soon (maybe).

05-Aug-13
A quick stroll before dusk. Few muggles out and about on the bike path tonight on the west side of the river, but enough breaks in traffic to dart off the path for a look and sign. All in reasonable condition. Tftc!

27-Jun-13
Suscoe's 32nd and last find of today.
We have had a great day out, starting around 9:00 am and finishing with this one at 6:05 pm.
An evening bikeride in the dark was a nice way to complete today. headed of from our hotel with the bike, torch and cache notes and took in the info as suscoe rode along.
Learned a bit more about this place, then did the calculations which seemed to make sense.
So a nice ride through the forest and a walk to GZ where the cache was located.
A quick signing and then a return ride past the running muggle who came out of the dark like a ghost.
Thanks to WazzaAndWenches for placing this cache and using the history to get there.

After working out our final destination took a lovely stroll along the nearby walking track with Tamzy, Holzcotz and my other half of PaddyJak team aka hubby Jack nice little find TFTC

A nice quick cache to the long day of 50 finds........TFTC Smile

20-Apr-13
Health check prior to an upcoming event.
The log book has seen better days but will get by for a few more weeks yet.
Otherwise all's good and waiting for some visitors.

23-Feb-13
Apologies for the late logging. I only just discovered a whole bunch of field notes that never uploaded. This cache was found with La Kedi whilst we were attending a weekend family reunion milestone birthday party in the area. TFTF WazzaAndWenches

23-Feb-13
The poor old Campaspe is looking a bit unloved, with evidence still from the floods in the bare roots and trees fallen right across the waterway. We wandered up and across and along toward GZ, enjoying a quiet afternoon stroll with the family, but a day too early for the jazz band. We found the cache safe and well, then proceeded further along the river until we came to a pedestrian suspension bridge that took us back into town. TFTC, WazzaAndWenches. =^.^=

What a beautiful part of the world! I loved the history here and really enjoyed the cache. Thank WazzaAndWenches...for everything.

A nice short walk from the bakery to the bridge got me an answer that looked promising, so off I trotted... and came up trumps. Water had gotten into the container, so I poured the small pool from the bottom, then signed the damp log.

Thanks for another one, WazzaAndWenches.

Enjoyed this stroll along the campaspe River. Erosion is sure taking hold on the banks, could be another landslide here at any time. The log book is wet and beware there are plenty of ants at the cache

02-Oct-12
Found with my dad on a day of geocaching

05-Aug-12
With breakfast in our tums and a skip in our step, on to a multicache, the first for the day. This was a great chance to learn about the history of Echuca. The lovely weather had bought out the muggles, so we had to be alert to grab cache. A busy Sunday morning. We enjoyed doing this cache and B1 (the one who has reached great heights) found this cache. Thanks WazzaAndWenches

21-Jul-12
Wandered, gathered, calculated, wandered some more and then found. TFTC

10-Jun-12
Our last of the day and in and around Echuca. We finished it off just before heading out for tea. Nice and unambiguous and more history of this interesting area. A quick find at GZ with out a torch. Thanks for all your caches around the area, we had a blast.

25-Apr-12
Found this with two friends during a short sightseeing-tour through Echuca.
After getting the numbers and a short walk we found the box very quick.

Thanks an greetings from Germany

Nice walk, was hesitant to cross the revegitation area to get to cache but don't think we trampled anything. Tftc

09-Apr-12
After attending the Flashing Up the Icons Event in Yackandandah and finding a few icons in that town, we made our way to Echuca for a few days. Before we could set up camp and enjoy ourselves though, there was still one more icon we needed to find to complete our mission which was to try to find as many different icons in one day as possible, and this cache will be one of them. We had an enjoyable wander along the Campaspe River to collect the required information, and after making the necessary calculations, we soon had the cache in hand. We then set off to set up camp along the Murray River and to enjoy a few drinks with some new friends. Thanks for the cache Wazza And Wenches

03-Apr-12
Thanks for the wander along the Campaspe. It started our journey to where the Campaspe meets the Murray.

Nice stroll on a lovely afternoon. Only trouble is we managed to time it with school ending, so had to be careful of young muggles on their way home. Took TB 77YV60, left nothing. TFTC and the history lesson

27-Jan-12
We stopped on the banks for some lunch before starting this multi. Fortified, we set out to read the plaques. Probably would have been a bit faster if we had read the description better, but we eventually got all the clues straight.
Over the other side it was a quick find.
Thanks, Robmc.

27-Jan-12
I wasn't sure I wanted to do this multi today - it was too hot to be wandering. After a picnic lunch at the posted coords we set off and then retraced our steps and set off again. Finally with all we needed we drove to the other side and collected the cache. Nice secluded spot for so close to town. TFTC

21-Jan-12
Maintenance check. All good.

06-Jan-12
It was dinner time but we really weren't hungry so we thought we would do this multi and try to work up an appetite. The clues were nice and straightforward which was just what we were in the mood for this evening. We made friends with a lovely ginger cat on our journey and really enjoyed our wander over to the GZ. Thanks for this bit of history in a really great place we hope to come back to one day. TNLNSL TFTC!!! Smile

02-Oct-11
I really liked this one. First we went for a drive in the much-hated car, then I got rolled around in my pram (which I also hate sometimes, except for when I'm sleeping), then when we got to where the cache was, I got let out for a run! I even got to see my favourite animal (dogs) on the path! TFTC! Smile.

02-Oct-11
A nice wander with pram-bound Sir Maxy on a sunny morning. The suitability of the weather also made it a bit harder to retrieve the cache without being spotted, but in the end a break in the muggle traffic made it possible. TFTC W&W.

04-Sep-11
Loved the early morning walk with my wife after breakfast. She has just returned from Sweden and never been out caching before, but loves getting out and seeing places unknown.

Day 3 of our Echuca Holiday and after lunch GMelb went off to find this cache whilst J&MMelb and friends went shopping! GMelb thought it was a lovely walk along the river and enjoyed collecting the info and then found the cache. On the way back to the car it started raining so a wet GMelb met us at Olivers Restaurant in the Historical Port of Echuca for a Cappucino! TNLNSL

Smile found with geochild after a small error when getting info from plaques which had us after I had done calculations 1.3 Km away. Decided that I had better have another look as it wasn't that far away to GZ. Quickly found the error and while I was working on getting GZ right geo child was playing with the pea hens and baby pen hen that were fossicking around near the car. Geo child tried to tell me they are eagles I said the aren't and that they are female peacocks (the one's with pretty tail feathers you know) they must belong to someone nearby. Anyway enough about bird life we found GZ and I managed to reach cache, I was busy signing log and was nearly sprung by muggles. There are lots of muggles around walking doggies at this time of morning. TFTC T1L2

11-Jun-11
A pleasant wander creekside, with the kidferrets happy to help get the required numbers. Mr Ferret found this cache after a very brief search.

11-Jun-11
After having lunch at the bakery with my daughters, in-laws, and nieces, I suggested that the 7 of us go for a walk along the river. Cue much rushing about, "Which number do you need? Do you know where is it yet?" and other very unsubtle chasing of clues. Fortunately, there weren't many people around, and they had calmed down by the time we approached GZ, where my brother-in-law found the cache in about 30 seconds while I was still waiting for my GPSr to settle! So that was a nice walk in the afternoon sun. TFTC.

Out on a days caching with the family in the Echuca area. One of 11 found for the day. 6th for the day, and another one i have had on the to do list for a long time. Well, today was the day, finally got around to it, and was rewarded with a nice cache overall. Some interesting facts in solving the cache, and a nice spot for a hide at GZ. TFTC.

20-Mar-11
A nice stroll along to river with Celtic music in the background almost took us back 100 years.
It was a difficult find - the first calculation put GZ at 45 km away. Lucky I thought to recheck the calculations before setting off. Co-ordinates spot on.
Took the travel bug (Dilley) to broaden its horizon.

08-Mar-11
I found me the only parking spot available down this end of towne at the start coords Smile
No one seems to know about them !! (the parking spots, not the start coords !!)
The Heritage River Walk trail is, was, fenced off by council because of the danger of falling trees [:o]
But the sane, sensible people of Echuca have spoken and shredded the plastic warning tape that blocked their daily walk Big Grin
The only danger here is that of council having to pay bigger public liability insurance premiums Razz
So I enjoyed my stroll more knowing that it was more of an 'extreme sport' than a mere walk Smile
I collected the numbers and having left the death zone calculated my GZ !!
A stroll across the toll bridge and along the bike path had me a cache find in no time Big Grin
Odd that this side of the river has no warning signs or roped off areas.
Maybe it is safer on the 'other side' [^]
TFTC .
I dropped in "Dilly Travel Bug" to continue its race back to France.

Found it after a nice stroll by the river side. Took little red girl. Left white car. TFTC

24-Jan-11
Great walk and history. Couldn't find it the first day and thought maybe the flood had washed it away. Went back the next and found it straight away. Thanks Wazza, your name is on all the good ones at Echuca, and thanks for the hint Blatherskite.

06-Jan-11
After the other nearby multi cache, we decided to tackle this one as well.
In the company of Eureka Gold, we set off and found this one quite easily.
Lucky that I am 185 cm tall, as the cache was at just the right height for me to get to! Smile

#875 @ 3.20pm. Found with DestinationOz on our caching day (aka afternoon) in Echuca. We weren't sure that we should be tackling multis this afternoon given our time contraints but once we'd ascertained that water wasn't going to be an issue in completing this one, off we set. With the GZ co-ords sorted, Dad decided to return to get the GeoTriton whilst DestinationOz and the Queen continued on foot. DestinationOz came up trumps with the find before Dad had returned. Thanks again to WazzaAnd Wenches - a lovely walk along the swollen river bank, thankfully the path & GZ were both high and dry. TNLNSL TFTC [^]

The last of some outstanding multis here for me. With recent rains there was more water than in recent times I dare say. The final coordinates were pretty good and I managed to reach the cache without any problems, thanks wazzaandwenches.

We really did a wander around with this one!
Spent around 30 mins walking around the block looking at plaques for the second answer.
Seems we over looked one of the earlier plaques, DOH!
Once we worked out which side of the river we needed to be at, the find was easy. (It doesn't help after the fact that it says in the description. Note to self - read cache description properly.)

Good one, WazzaAndWenches! Nice bit of history along the way - and enjoyed the walk. So many huge trees have gone over in recent storms were beginning to wonder if the cache might have been 'buried alive'! But no - 'twas there alive and well.
