Driving the back roads. Quick find.Found with Mogni. This was a very, very last minute trip.I found out that i had to be in the " clare region " the next day by lunch the next day on muggle business. After that business was over i headed up to jamestown to get a 2001 cache via any adventure labs or caches i haven't found before staying in a B& B in Penworthm. Now it was time to start heading home via dirt roads to Burra for the new Adventure lab and then down every dirt road/track with caches on it and the odd track that needed the hubs locked on the ute. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
I wouldn’t expect many people to be out here but with the new wind turbines going up on the ranges here there were a lot of trucks and utes going up and down the road. Cache easily found here and is all good
With a few days off back in Adelaide I decided to head to the mid north again after still having some caches to find up this way from my last visit 2 weeks ago, nice to be driving around on the back roads exploring new places and seeing the country side.
Thanks for the cache

Cache was waterlogged, drain out and put strip of log paper in plastic bag, as well as a small container into main container. Tftc and view.
Looking at places like this I'd like to turn the clock back and watch the going-ons. They certainly didn't have it easy back then but I'm sure life was so much simpler.
There was no log to sign as the container has become a swimming pool for the local insects.
After a relaxing weekend in Burra Burra it was time to head home, the long way of course .

Found after a trip to Burra for a few days, staying out in the campground at Redbanks. Took the interesting backroads on our way back home with a few detours to search for caches along the way. A friendly local stopped to tell us all about the history of the hotel and outbuildings, which we already knew because we'd read the cache page! Thanks for the cache .Anja!
TFTC a quick drive by on our way home. Thank god it’s the start of daylight savings.
It was that time of the week again. It was time for the Wednesday Wanderings of the Puzzled Puzzler group in search of those smilies. [^] Today I got to join S.A. Sewer Rats, Blackadders and sushilord for a wander up towards Burra in search of solved puzzles and anything else that we were passing. [^]
We found the cache quickly but sadly the Sod Hut Inn was not open for business. I could have doen with a drink about now!
**Thanks .Anja for this cache. **

The usual weekly Wednesday with some of the Puzzled Puzzlers. The plan was to clear out Burra and any others on the way. The Starfish, KORF and the Adder met at the Sewer Rats at 9am for this long day of seeking plastic containers in the outback.
On the way home after a long day, this one was found quickly by the rat. TFTC

Out today with Sebastbat, making a dent in the cache map to our north.
Quick find without disturbing any sods.
Could do with a new container, but well protected.
Thanks for this one .Anja

Out today with Hevwalker, we decided to head towards Burra. After lunch in town we started cachesploring...Exploring this beautiful town and caching at the same time. After clearing out the town we started caching our way home. This was a quick find. TFTC
An easy find with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. Love the structure - and the name! Left a gold coin. TFTC
A lovely easy cache to find and sign the log. The history abounds in this region and I am learning more and more each time I venture out caching

We thought this was going to be one of those renovated hiker hut type places to camp in... Oh well, but there is an idea for the owner! I see he has joined geocaching awhile back... Pretty sure cachers would appreciate the post even more!

Early morning find after a sleep over at the gorge - love the land owners log! Great fun driving these roads SL TFTC
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Staying overnight at Burra Showgrounds before moving closer to Gawler. Today was a very late start to the day after a very cold night.
Departing camp at around 10.30am we headed for Redbanks conservation area. Where Mr Felix did the loop walk whilst Mrs Felix headed back towards town to grab some other smilies.
An interesting day, so much history has been preserved to share here in Burra. A very lovely town indeend.

Rather than "Are we there yet?" we were asking "Are we wet yet?" Found this one on a very wet day while on a drive out from Burra Creek Gorge. TFTC
This one has been on my radar forever, it seems. It suffered from being the only cache on this road, and with no other reason to come here, for me it was always sitting forlornly by itself.
Not anymore! We were on our way to spend the weekend at Burra and decided to finally pick this one up. Glad we did, as the ruins are very interesting; there’s far more of them than is obvious from the road. I have to wonder at the corner of one by that massive gum tree. The tree has obviously grown since the place was abandoned – so how old is this place??
Thanks for dragging me here M&A, and for the invite to Peterborough. Unfortunately we can’t make it . Cheers

Sorry .Anja for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks .Anja for placing this cache.
Sod it!!
Got a puncture at this one.
Found on a lovely day while wandering home from weekend camping and orienteering at Bri-Glen.
I ran faster than your mum!!

Chrispy89 was holding the Pub Lunch In the Sticks, so firesafe, Homeysuckers, Burton's, SA Sewer Rats and I were out for the day
Burton's and SA Sewer Rats left us at Clare at about 10pm on the way home while the rest of our group continued caching until about 3am, just because we could
All up, I locus cache'd 69 caches with a smiley result and 2 with DNF's and attended a great event too
We were here late at night and I still tried to take a picture of the closest ruins.
Only a few days later, I saw a picture on FB and thought 'that looks remarkably familiar'.
Sure enough, the very person who got me interested in geocaching had passed by here during daylight and also taken a picture of the same ruins
Geocaching makes this a very small world!
Loved the spot and the history lesson [^]

On a Big day out with Firesafe and Locus meeting up wit the Burtons sewer rats and oothers at an event in the sticks.
This was a big day starting at 7:00 am and going through to 4:30 am on Sunday morning. A group of us headed north for the Pub Lunch in the Sticks, caching our way up and back with 65 finds for the day.
Quick find and sign - replaced the container. TFTC.

Heading to Burra for a day trip. In our planning I saw this. I love history and Ingy loves photographing ruins so this was a MUST!

Too many rocks out here. Not much dirt. Does it have anything to do with "Sod Hut Rd" I saw back near Farrell Flat?

Been past the place many times over the years.
I don't believe the ruin has changed in the 40years I can remember...

Our last cache for the day. We were here at sunset, that magical time for photography. We were also accompanied by a kestrel? who posed for a few shots. Enjoyed the cache and the countryside.
Found on a minor detour to Burra for winter sports. A beautiful drive on a sunny winter afternoon. TFTC Anya
Last cache of the day - capping off a lovely day out with mabar. Unfortunately couldn't appreciate the ruin as this was found in the light of the car headlights! Two of the lid clips have broken - might need some attention soon. TFTC
Stopped at GZ on a winter's day with icy winds blowing. Building up the courage to get out into the cold, we said sod it and jumped out. Lots of cute sheep around. Said hello to them, their looks said sod off so we did after stickering the log.

I signed the log quickly as a car pulled up at this busy pub. Mogni and I smiled like crazy for a pretend photo being taken by Team707 with my GPS. What the, this chap pulled up on purpose, wanting to take a photograph before it falls down. Very funny. Love the ruins. Thanks .Anja.
Couldn't believe that after driving on this road for ages and not seeing a car, we got out here and along comes a car! Took a "photo" with the GPS as guy passed, but then he pulls over to take his own photo. Luckily we had some quick log signers and we were on our way. TFTC
Found with Team 707, Mogni and Aussie M&M. As 707 explained muggle photographers were a bit of a nuisance!! TFTC
Oh Sod it! Found easily on a lovely day driving through these back hills roads. The houses were just not built of quality. They did hope for them to last but these harsh conditions didn't help.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys

What a beautiful setting to knock back a cold one after work! The drive through Stony Gap to get here was great, such beautiful landscapes out here.

Is Sod the Hutt a relative of Jabba? She is not a member of the Heysen family of Hutts!
Found ok. The road was being graded today but we could pull off behind them. Thx M&A for the cache. This site was the first pub south of Burra on the adelaide road. Apparently they were spaced every 8 miles for the bullock teams
found it
was my first find as its on my property
I was wondering why people were hanging out at my ruins
I was glad to see it was on the roadside not actually in my property, i dont like trespassers
Think the concept is very cool, will start to do some more geocaching
can people leave there postcode or country of origin in the logbook so i can enjoy the diversity of geocaching
I took lizzard and left some sodhut sheep ear tags for people to distribute around the world

Just as I was getting out of the car the batteries went dead, maybe an old sod wanted me to stay a while longer. This is a busier road than I thought.eventually got the cache and move onto the next one (found some old batteries under the seat).tftc
This was an interesting bit of history that would all but be forgotten, if not for geocaching !
Signed the log in the car after almost being blown away by the wind .

Found on the way home from horse riding in Burra, the locals wondered what we were up to here! tftc
Didn't realaise we didn't have to search the ruins. Assume that we shouldn't have gone through the gate when we found the cache.
How long will this stand [?]
Luckily the wind was coming from left to right and not face on. I'd say a few good puffs and the third little piggy would have a frown.
Clear skies from TeamAstro.
Decided that we better drive up the road a little further, from Cowboys and Itchiebums. No use travelling this far to miss one that is only 3kms up the road. Found Sod Hut Farm then onto the cache. Another part of local history discovered. TNLN. TFTC.
