Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground in the capital Canberra. We scheduled for 1 full day here to be able to see and experience the city. It was a cold day but the many interesting Geocaches we found during the day made up for it. We saw many interesting buildings and enjoyed walking through several parks and along the river. This was a quick find with help from the hint. TFTC!

My first in Australia this year, and my seventh continent to find a cache this year (that won't happen for me again). TftC.

Off to my event soon TFTC after 6 hours of walking I trip up the stairs on this one and a bandaid was required

22-Jun-24
There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****

Sneaky little hide. Love it.

One of the reasons I enjoy caching is it takes you to areas you don't usually explore; such as never noticing this bridge before. TFTC

20-Apr-24
TFTC! we had to abandon this one as there was a mini photo shoot happening on the bridge and we kept getting side-eye while we were searching so we swung back around after dinner for a quick find

20-Apr-24
Had to avoid some models utilising golden hour... came back later after food and a wander, and stef found it in 4 secondsTFTC

With a D1T5 CITO on in Canberra I decided that today I would do a day trip over. Johno, why didnt you just stay a little longer over there after the Geobash? Because I had things to do at home and wanted some time with my [muggle] family and friends during my annual leave. So I made my way over there and after having breakfast, I headed off to go Geocaching. Due to the bad weather, I decided it was going to be a great day to find those caches within high muggle areas. It was a great idea because there wasnt any muggles around. Yes, I got very wet throughout the morning and once it was about 1pm I started to dry off, because the rain stopped. I then found a couple of more caches before heading to the CITO. Once at the CITO, it was great fun cleaning up the pond and catching up with everyone. I then headed off to get dinner and afterwards headed home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTE & TFTCs! Big GrinAfter lunch I headed over to City hill to find some caches. By now the rain was gone but the muggles still hadn't come out. All the caches were quickish finds and were in good condition. This one was next. Once at GZ, I guess what I was searching for but it took a moment to spot it. It turns out I was right with my guess. It has now been signed and replaced ready for the next finder. Now onto the next one. Big Grin

In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. Found during an early morning walk through the city. Thank you Tankengine, for placing Theatre Transit for the geocaching community.# # SmileSmile #14505 SmileSmile # #

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.

30-Mar-24
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA6

During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them.Took a while to find in the dark, but some searching and feeling and we found it.. Last cache of the day...

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tankengine! Big GrinJoin us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

The third day in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend.Made my way to the event location for the first time today and enjoyed some of the festivities there throughout the morning. The afternoon was filled caching all over the place with a high priority placed on older caches to help fill Jasmer grids.Another day filled with an amazing variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Tankengine for placing Theatre Transit for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 22:24 on 29/3/2024.This is find number 8553 for me.

22:51Good Friday GeoBashing.Of course I went out in the dark with n0w0rries for a few more finds...There were a couple of Adventures in the city that looked interesting, so we headed that way and parked just off City Hill to check out some artwork.A stroll around, following a Book Thief, led us around the back of the theatre and up here. Thanks, Tankengine. A neat bit of custom work that took us longer to spot than it probably should.#8597

On our bikes today. We were suppose to be having a non caching day, going to visit the sister-in-law, however she had to cancel due to important client meetings. The price of being a small business owner. Hall was on the cards but we decided to leave that for another day and go into the lake, picking up what we could and adding a few Ad Labs.Total Caches Found 15670TFTC Tankengine

I happened to be at the theatre this evening to see Josh Thomas' show Let's Tidy Up and figured that this would make for a convenient streak find!I'd only just reached the theatre in time for the show so went in there first, discovering that there was indeed an entrance on the gz side of the theatre (which goes largely underutilised).Exiting out of the same doors, I made my way up to a deserted gz and got to searching.Eventually the trusty phone camera was employed to investigate the various nooks and crannies before something caught my eye - but only barely!A very nice construction here that blends in surprisingly well. The logbook had my name added to it and everything was returned as found. Thanks to Tankengine for this hide! Smile

Years ago I couldn't find this as a Bridge Banter. But it seems the name change has done me some good with this cache, which was found reasonably quickly on a quiet morning in a likely spot. I do like the bespoke, personalised container! Thanks, Tankengine.

Pleased to find this one without too much hassle while out on a walk this morning before heading up to the Rex hotel to play some bridge. Thanks to Tankengine for placing this cache and maintaining. Greetings from New Zealand

This one was frustrating. I have seen one other like this one before but it was so well hidden it was impossible to even get a glimpse of without the use of technology. With a bit of help from some other cachers I was finally able to find it. Thanks, fishysturgeon and baristayan. TFTC

10-Jun-23
Obvious find didn’t take 2 hours to find very poggers

29-May-23
Came past here in the early evening with Baristayan who was looking to avenge a DNF.

For possibly the first time ever, I latched onto this crafty hide within moments of locating ground zero. Absolutely brilliant from the CO once again…if this is the ‘easiest’ Bridge Banter I shudder to think what the rest have in store thanks for the cache!

29-May-23
Yes! After many months of not finding this cache, I have now come back with fresher eyes and hundreds of finds under my belt, to only not find it again. It was actually buckoraider who spot it.
But the hiding spot is very clever!

06-May-23
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. With the help of my phone I quickly spotted it. Thanks for the fun Tankengine

#1962 This would probably be our 3rd visit here after having not much luck on previous attempts. Turtle and I were both fairly certain we’d looked over every potential spot but we were still coming up short. Armed with a hint from the CO this time around and once again we were still baffled by where it could be hiding, surely we’re missing something. I must have actually missed half of the hint we were given because it wasn’t until Turtle vocalised something I soon had the cache in my hands. Sometimes you just need a good nudge in the right direction! Thanks Tankengine for the hide and help on this one!

28-Apr-23
#3793 After a couple of failed attempts here, the CO was kind enough to let me know what to look for at an event the next time I came. Back again with DT and we were still struggling to get a touch or sighting of the cache. Eventually I mentioned aloud what I thought DeadThief already knew re the hide and he found it within moments. Clearly it just wasn’t meant to be me. Thanks Tankengine for the assistance and the placement.

Had a great day geocaching in Canberra. A variety of nicely crafted traditionals, many virtuals, all-time favourites of Mrs Bear, an abundance of adventurelabs, and the occasional multi - we ran around all day. In the end our feet hurt and we were so tired, we didn't even go out for dinner anymore, yet it was a fantastic day.

We’ve been having awful luck trying to cache around Canberra! So many of the caches are taking longer than expected for the DT.
Feeling her way around Billy tentatively stated, “I think I might have it.”
Satisfaction once we had it in hand! Found with Billy91.

23-Oct-22
Spent a while looking for this one.. TFTC!

12-Oct-22
This turned out to be quite different than what I thought I was going to be looking for - I’ve not seen a cache done quite like this before. It took me a few different approaches, and the late hour helps avoid curious passersby from wondering what I was up to.

TFTC and favourite point awarded!

04-Oct-22
Third attempt and finally successful! Thank you Tankengine!

27-Sep-22
Chatting to the finder from 8 days ago, I can confirm that this cache is OK.

21-Sep-22
Didn’t have much time as muggle husband kept pointing out how suspicious I looked, peering around at the bridge from all angles. I’ll be back!

18-Sep-22
Sunday had a good start, some quick caches, a few adventure labs and the weather was holding. Only half a day caching today as I am heading back in the afternoon. Very tricky, eventhough I was expecting a hide like this
