TFTC! Mountain goat country but a lovely walk!Cache is in need of serious love. Log too wet to sign
Out with weredunn4 heading North of Adelaide today to target some new caches around Port Wakefield and then heading over toward Clare to seek some caches we havent previously found.Quickly found this one and log stamped TFTC
Found with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip. It's a sunny but cold morning, but today is the day we make our assault on The Spring Gully Conservation Park. We enjoyed our hike, picking up some great caches along the way. Thanks to all the COs who have placed caches along the trails.
Travelling with iluvtrekking on a SA caching foray. Staying a couple of days in Clare to grab some finds. Gee it gets cold here - we dont get this chill at home. But a good morning for doing the caches along this trail. Thanks matmob
I decided to take Friday off work to make it a four day weekend. The plan was to explore around Barossa and Clare valleys. Im not much of a wine drinker but there sure are lots of geocaches in these parts. I brought my bike along so I could tackle some of the many caches along bike tracks. A little cool through out the day but the sun was shining which always makes me happy. Yes I am a John Denver Fan. I probably would not have visited this place without a cache here. I am so glad I did. Awesome place. I really enjoyed the walk in and the views. A favourite point from me. Thank you matmob, for placing The Cascades for the geocaching community.# # #14956 # #
Amazing view!! A bit hard to get to the cache through the spiky bushes but worth it! TFTC
Caching with Woofa, the rain stopped so we headed out to the cascades with high hopes of seeing torrents of water cascading down the cliff face.
In reality there was a puddle at the top, but it was still a good walk, and the sun finally broke through.
Thanks for the cache

Great views, not much in the way of water flow even after a night of rain, but a nice walk. TFTC
A lovely walk in Spring Gully Cons Park to the Cascades. Not surprised to see they were flowing after all the rain we’ve had lately but I bet it doesn’t happen at this time of years very often
Many thanks for the hide matmob

No water but cool spot after running out to this spot yesterday to find the game day cache placed near by, awesome location cache is all good
Today we headed home via an indirect route from the Clare carnival June long weekend event, we stopped by a few caches along the way.

Found after looking at the falls. Enjoyed climbing around exploring the dry falls. Just before leaving, thought I’d have a look and one was just here. Plenty of good options, except some were used by others. Eventually made the find in the right hide.
Very nice spot for a lovely stroll. Thanks for bringing us here.
Nice cache, in good condition. Easy find.
Great sunset views.

TFTC. After some heavy showers that we got caught in last night, I thought there was a good chance the Cascades would be running strongly. No such luck –just a trickle, I guess it has been fairly dry previously and the ground has soaked up all that water. But it’s still fairly wet and slippery underfoot: kind of the worst of both worlds.
A nice view, but somewhat obscured by a rising fog.

A misty sort of day had us wandering down damp tracks looking for some flowering orchids before arriving at GZ, last visit we had cache blindness not so today was a quick find in a spot we probably didn't check properly last time, not much in the cascades despite the recent weather will need to check them out again after some heavier falls

We were in Spring Gully a month ago getting the newish multi and thought we could probably get to this one cross-country from there, but we couldn't. Came back today and followed the tracks to a beautiful spot. Although there was a small amount of water, there wasn't enough to make any waterfalls. A well-hidden cache, some prickly bushes and some steep, slippery terrain made this a great adventure. TFTC matmob.
With Covid 19 restrictions we have not been caching for a few weeks and have taken to walking the federation trail for exercise instead, walking through the park after yesterdays rain the greenery was starting to return and a trickle of water at the cascade along wth quite a few tadpoles. Being only a few meters from this cache we decided to have a look but either we suffer from cache blindness or out of practice we did not spot it today, plan to revisit again in the future for another go till then TFTC
I thought about doing this cache when I was walking in the Spring Gully park earlier but the walk was long and included a long descent (and hence climb back!) so decided to leave it for another time. However when I was at the lookout cache I noticed there was access to this area from here and a much easier walk so decided to hit the trail and go hunting. After a very pleasant walk I was at the Cascades, no water flowing today unfortunately but they must be spectacular after heavy rain! Got to GZ and had the cache in hand quickly. Thanks to mat mob for bringing me here, lovely walk.
We are in Clare camping for the weekend. Not too sure we picked the best weekend for it as we had a shocker of an arvo of weather so it was a low tally day for us. But we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had a late start due to drinking far too much wine last night, but after the crappiest of weeks at work it was needed. So we only found 15 caches for the day but it was was definitely a quality over quantity day. We found some really memorable caches and had a super walk at Spring Gully. We also managed to fit in a trip to Pikes brewery which we loved and ended up with a box of long necks to bring home. We finished off the day with a superb curry at Indii which is in our opinion the best curry house in SA, love it yummy yummy food.
This was our first cache of the day, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk here. Alas no water going over the cascades when we were there, but imagine later in the arvo there was with 15mm of rain falling whilst we were at Spring Gully!
TFTC matmob a favourite from us, we like a hide with a good walk. Took TB

Nice day for a walk with Purrfect Di and Jack.
The last bit was a little rocky, and wow those prickles ! ! !
Spotted the second time I looked right there...
Left Yoda TB, much views enjoy he will.
The other TB is not in the cache!
Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache matmob
Fav for the great location!
After our encounter with a snake yesterday, we were watchful today as we hunted for the caches in the park. No issues though, the only thing we saw was a kangaroo watching us through the trees.
Last one for the day and this clears out all the caches in this area. No cascades today, there is very little water around, still a good view though. This cache was found quickly. tftc

found after the Welcome Frogs to Clare event. walked down to this one and saw the cascades with some water in them but not flowing. Saw 2 spikey ant eaters as well, big ones. nice views.
Quick find. Unfortunately we must have been too late to find the travel bug. Oh well. Nice spot for a photo and my World Turtle souvenir.
The et al lost some skin retrieving the cache. Took the Canada bear to relocate him somewhere else in SA. No water on thé cascades today. TFTC
tftc what a terrific spot. Just us, birds singing & the wonderful water flowing. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!

A bit of a forage in the hillside will turn this one up. Mind the thick prickly bushes nearby. Had some phone GPS issues so we went by instinct and located soon enough. TFTC

Our second attempt at this cache and this time we found it in a nook that we had looked at the first time. We enjoyed the walk in and out. I would like to come back when the orchids are flowering though. TFTC matmob!
Pleasant early morning walk as it will be 29 degrees today. Many of the orchids are starting to dry out but there still plenty of water spilling the cascades. I saw lots of black tadpoles in there! Took the TB and TFTC. Cheers
Cache replaced today. Some orchids out now, but there will be different ones out later on. We saw 6 different orchid species today, the sun orchids were out in October last time we saw them.
After searching (with no luck) in the freezing cold, B2 told me where it was. Hunted there with no luck. B1 couldn't find either - might be worth the cache owner having a quick check to ensure it's still there....
We couldn't locate this one We concentrated on the large rock and thoroughly checked every nook and cranny. All three of us came up empty handed. We had a quick scout around the area but couldn't locate the cache. Hopefully it's just a case of cache blindness The views alone were worthwhile coming here so thanks for that! We completed the loop for a very enjoyable walk. TFTC matmob!
Replaced the cache today - however the log book was fine, could have been wiped out rather than log a 'needs maintenace' log. Also, the cache was quite a way from it's proper place, and out in the open.
If you are thinking of doing this cache, do it now - the wildflowers are beautiful and there are many sun orchids out at present.
Went out for a walk on Sunday and showed my 7 year old brother the Cache and the whole thing is all wet and smelly inside :/
Out for a pleasant walk with foxbane, d1scov3ry, schnail and the geokids to such a wonderful place. Loved the views and the various carnivorous plants! Thanks for the cache, we will be back here again.
Decided to take Baby J for a walk in the conservation park to find a cache which was a great idea. What was not such a great idea was taking the pram, narrow paths and rocky drop offs resulted in one flat tyre and some rather sore muscles from pushing the pram. Worst part - the baby bjorn carrier was sitting in the car!
No cascades today but an easy find and Baby J was excited to take away her first geo-cache treasure (a figurine of B1). We left a trackable in its place.

Took a little while as my phone proved less than marvelous with the final few metres, and I had to rely on the trusty GPS. No worries after that.
Thanks for the cache, matmob

Found It!
It was less than half a km walk from my approach but still an excellent little place! Surprisingly there was a name in the logbook for only an hour before I was there!

Great cache! We did this at night with friends, probably not the safest thing to do but the view would be amazing during the day. Path can be rocky and dangerous so wear proper shoes!
After celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversay with lunch on the verandah at Skillogalee, though better go up to Sping Gully to walk it off. Bit different from the last finder. It was about 35 degrees and with no wind the walk wasn't all that pleasant. Or was that just too much lunch . The creek was bone dry when we got their. Lucky we had brought our own supply. The cache was an easy find...it was out in the open [?] Perhaps pushed out by some animal or reptile using the hide. Left a geocoin that want photo's with live bears. Although this is probably koalo country didn't see any on the way in. BooBoo was however already in the cache. Thanks matmob. Put back where I thing id rolled from.
Nice walk to the Cascades with quite a few wildflowers around.
Thanks for the cache matmob.

Sorry for the extremely late log. I was looking around nthe area, planning a trip to mid north and realised I had been to this great spot during the June LWE 2012.
I remember it as a nice walk and a quick find.

A fantastic walk down the track - until the track disappeared. the spiny acacias took over so I'm glad I had the thick jeans on. This was to be my 10,001th cache log - a brilliant way to start the next 10K. I'm glad I have finally logged this one - it was so worth the wait.
Thanks to matmob and clear skies from TeamAstro.
