Back in Sydney for vacation. Finally having a chance to grab this one. Answers will be send to CO.#2378 - Nov 24, 2024TFTC Lord of the Rocks
Ive been to Sydney many times over the last few years, but never to the botanic gardens. Today is so sunny and lovely. I sat and studied on the seat for a while. Thank you
The turning point of our morning walk. Enjoyed reading the history of the area on the nearby sign. I'm sure I must have walked past here previously but I have no recollection and can't say I've heard of Mrs Macquarie's chair before! That's a bit embarrassing Thanks for making me pay attention.

Leaving note right now. Will answer questions when I get back to hotel tonight. Took photo of the carved rock at the granite "chair"
Together with visard. Why is it called a chair when it clearly is a bench? Very beautiful place I understand why Mrs loved it.
Sightseeing in Sydney. After Bondi beach our bus dropped us here to wonder the views. We continued to walk through Botanical gardens towards the Opera house. Answered together with zirinna. TFTC!
Found with Gazania Rigens, as per her log.A splendid contemplatory place - and most interesting geology too ??Thank you for the opportunity for a few minutes comfortable respite from busy caching in such illustrious company.
A most peculiar rocky throne here, but I can see why Elizabeth enjoyed sitting here and watching the boats arrive and leave. Visited with Zouave and have sent answers for both of us. TFTC!
Four Swedish ladies walking around in Sydney. Here we found a nice chair to rest in. Answer is send for all four. Thanks for a nicr cache.
Four ladies from Sweden (Tigertassen, ursus67, Lnganfans, pidjas) are visiting Australia. This day we took a long walk, more than 20 km. We mostly log as TULP.This was one of the places we visited. Very nice view.Answers are sent.A big thank you to the CO for this cache.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland

Can understand why it was Lady MacQuarie's favourite spot. Has everything; some elevation, views, a comfortable seat and a bit of history. T4TC!!!
Time to catch up on some logs of the previous days! This one was from day 1 during a beautiful walk around the botanical gardens.
Always a lovely walk around the Gardens and then out to the amazing view at Mrs Macquarie's Chair. Thanks for the info on Sydney Geology and sandstone.
I had a 9 hr layover at Sydney today, so I headed downtown to stroll thru the city. Overall I was able to find 8 caches and several lab caches. An amazing day, I couldnt have spent it better. Been here many times but havent really had a chance to take a photo because of muggles tourists. Im sure the place would be fantastic during Mrs Macquarie time without eyesores like garden island but still a nice spot to visit . TFTV danieloliveira. Answers on the way
Such a beautiful location! Thanks for this earth cache! We came here during our stay in Sydney at the beginning of our Australia holidays. So many adventures since then that it took me a while to finally sent out the answers.Cheers from Queensland
After landing back in Sydney on the penultimate leg of my trip last night, I headed out this morning in search of a few caches prior to my event in the Botanical Gardens. This was the last & it took me a while to work through the questions in quite a busy spot this morning. I found the last question a bit tricky but gave it a stab & have already sent my answers to the CO. I've also attached a photo as further evidence of my visit.Found at 10:12Cache #10465TFTC danieloliveira

Greetings from WalesStaying close by on our Australia tour so we took a wander around The Rocks, an Opera house tour, a walk along to Macquaries Point and then to the Hyde Park Barracks. A few caches found as well. After a great Opera House tour we headed around to Macquaries Point. After doing the virtual we came to see the chair and do the earth cache. Answers sent to the CO so I hope they are OK. Thanks for the cache.
Over from Perth for a few days for work and taking the opportunity to pick up a few local caches when I can. Today was a work half day so the plan was for a long looping walk from the hotel up through the CBD, via The Rocks, the Opera House, Mrs Macquarie's Chair and back to the hotel. A large group of people taking in the views here... but thankfully the Chair itself was deserted Took a seat and let the mind wander Answers on their way to the CO. TFTC

Find#2390Enjoying the second week of the school holidays with a few days in Sydney down from the Hunter valley. I have made a habit of ignoring the virtual and earth caches but am trying to increase my numbers in this area. A beautiful spot for an earth cache. TFTEC
Bisoutje and I have spent another day at the Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanical gardens next door. We've explored the area at night but during the day these walks are just as beautiful. Many photos were took which is usually an indication of a day well spent. This is probably the most interesting chair story I have recently heard about. Great place for a chair indeed. Info in listing is very informative and answers at GZ were quickly gathered. They are sent to the CO.TFTC!
I loved this spot and was fortunate enough to visit it twice on my recent visit to Sydney. Thanks for this interesting Earthcache!
Joined a number of geocachers at a winter solstice event in the city of Sydney a week ago or so. Visited the rocky chair that afternoon and took home some observations. Today I got my answers ready, now sent off. Keeping my geocaching streak unbroken for another day. TFTEC Lord of the Rocks

Tftc. Arrived in Australia yesterday and for our first full day here we decided to do a sightseeing walk through Hyde park, Botanical gardens, Mrs Macquaries chair, Opera house and back to the hotel via the shopping district. Along the way, we managed to find and log multiple caches. This was one of 'em.
I decided to head into Sydney CBD to attend an event at the Botanical Gardens today. Afterwards I wandered around the northern end of the gardens picking up a few more. This earthcache has brought me to a very interesting location. Thanks.Answers sent. Thanks for find #6236TNLN

Fivegk and I were here today, on a caching holiday from Canada. Answers have been submitted. Fav point from me!Thanks for bringing us to this great spot, and Happy Caching!!
Contrary to most earth caches, this was a spot I had actually visited during my muggle days. A few times, actually, what an amazing location. Thanks for giving me another reason to return here and admire the chair once again. Plenty of interesting info to read about the geological history of Sydney, too.You could rule a kingdom from up here! Fav point from me.
After my architect's tour of the Opera House, I headed over to the Botanical Gardens. The rain was beginning to fall, but I thought I could still cache without difficulty. That was true until I was too soaked to even think.I hadn't read the cache description before getting to GZ and was enchanted by this lovely spot. I wish the weather had been better so I could enjoy it more. My answers have been sent to the CO. Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had just completed my goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. I arrived in Sydney three days ago as the last stop before heading home. I was sad that my adventure was coming to an end, but I was looking forward to exploring Sydney including the architect's tour of the Opera House. Sadly, the weather was miserable, so it was a soggy trek around town. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.
We are tourists in Sydney for a week. This city is wonderful. It is a weird feeling to see the Sydney Opera House for real as, normally for us, it is t the opposite part of the world. We did the lookout and the Macquarie's Chair. Thanks for the earthcach!
Yesterday Laura and I flew from Melbourne and arrived incredibly smoothly to Sydney, our first time in the big city. We slept well and long, and woke up with a needing desire to explore the city. We had just this one full day to explore the city before we head out tomorrow, so we knew we had to make it count. We couldnt pass up the opportunity to walk to the middle of the beautiful Harbor Bridge, making it halfway across and then turning back south towards the harbor and docks. From there, we took a ferry towards the zoo. While we didnt have any interest in seeing the locked up animals, I did want to visit another county and that gave us an opportunity to see Sydneys downtown from another perspective, and I managed to break my sunglasses. After returning on the ferry back to land, we visited the Opera house and continued our walk around the river bank, rushing a bit to make it to this viewpoint. Little did we know that the only sunset view of the harbor would be ruined by the ginormous mega cruise boat which departed the dock just as the sun was setting. Nonetheless, we did have a nice view. We found a little lookout point nearby to sit at and figure out our dinner plans, but as Laura was taking in the sunset view, I quickly ran around the corner to take a look at Mrs Macquarie's Chair. It was already dark when I got here, but I did my best to gather the answers needed. After writing down my answers, I snapped a photo at 5:51 pm and drafted this log, making this our 7132nd overall find. Thanks Lord of the Rocks for another earthcache (further away; our last find of yours was in Portugal) and for spicing up our Saturday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! For my own personal statistics; this is the fifty-third of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited. It was quite a long and exciting day for us, as we walked 21.17km throughout the city while visiting twenty-five stashes just this one day.
We visited this EC on our first day in Sydney. So many runners are in this park! TFTC, Lord of the Rocks!
The views here are certainly amazing, I can understand wanting to sit and admire them! The ice cream is pretty good too Answers sent, tftc

A very cool EC. Add fav pointThe Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 8. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
Day 20 of our roadtrip in Australia. We're in Sydney now, so no road tripping the next days, instead a lot of walking. There's so much to see here! And what we love so far, a lot of the caches have very precise hints, very tourist friendly. Today's plan is the Opera guided tour and the Botanical Gardens. We hope of course that the rain forecasted will not come. Great views from here, one can imagine why this was Mrs McQuaries chair. Answers collected and sent. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Lord of the Rocks! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Greetings from Seattle! I'm down under (for the first time!) with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward - the mega-event in Adelaide. Of course, we will also find as many caches, counties, waymarks, and adventures as possible Today also marks the conclusion of my 2+ year streak that ended somewhere over the Pacific as we skipped Thursday! TBH, I had no plans to start another streak after I completed a 366-day run years ago in my original home coordinates of the Midwest. Yet, after relocating to the land o'plenty of caches in the Pacific Northwest, I found myself on another streak quite unintentionally Anyway, this was one of the first finds in Australia and I'm at peace with the streak ending as there are some amazing experiences on the horizon! - Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney (TONIGHT!) - Drive the Great Ocean Road - Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand While here, we also decided to tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TBZ_31-31-earth-challenge) and [GC32TC2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TC2_31-31-31-earth-and-virtual-challenge)). This is no. 1 of 31! Answers have been sent in (or will be soon) by Jessie, my personal Earthcache coordinator. Thanks for contributing to our first day in Oz!
Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we arrived this morning - kicked off our shoes and sweaters, put on sunscreen and sandals and headed into the wilds to find some caches in a new place - all before we headed to Accor Stadium to see Taylor Swift. What a day! It's hard to pass up a great EarthCache - so, we didn't! I loved checking out this area, and imagining the planning of making this chair. We sat down to take in the view - and then went around the corner for some gelato Thanks so much for adding to the trip!!
Stopped by this nice earthcache after checking out the view of the opera house and bridge nearby! Thanks for the EC!
Second day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. On my walk through the botanical garden, I also passed this Earthcache. I took notes on the questions. A souvenir photo of the place is a matter of course. I sent the answers to the owner via Message Center. Thank you for laying & taking care .Zweiter Tag in Australien ??.
