A quick stroll along the beach from the caravan park had this one in hand. The tide was well out today, but still a lovely view. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Well a nice day of not much for kiwinic and myself! after having lunch at the bowling club we needed to go for a walk! so we wandered down the road and after a few stops we drove back to our camp and walked along the beach for an easy find! Good to see someone has put a good container in the spot as the old one (which was still there) was completely wet. But a fun way to get rid of an hour or more! TFTC
On our way to the top, caching where we can.We approach this with our usual lets see how far we can get our non 4 wheel drive down a track approach. There is a smallish area we can do a 50 point turn in near where we need to stop so that worked well.I narrow down our GZ and think eureka this is going to be quick. Its not.The hint is a cunning trap no matter how true it may also be.The green stuff is razor sharp and 5 mins of ow from me leads to no result.I encourage Buttons to come and help (shes the main finder from the two of us) but nothing can persuade her onto the beach to wade through all the crocs guarding this. I go back to owing.A minute or so later she tells me shes found it.I stop muttering obscenities and walk back to her.She drops both the old cache and the new one as shes being bitten by ants and leaves me to sign stuff and put it all back.We head back to the car and manage to make our appointment with a swimming pool shortly after.TFTC Venimus, Invenimus, Signati
Took a walk along the beach and used the cache page info to make a quick find here. All is in good order and after signing the log all was repolaced as found. TFTC.
Wow, what a trip! Cape York, Cairns to the tip!!! It's been a great fascination and long term goal of mine to visit Cape York but driving it, and seeing as much as I can, was just amazing and a trip of a lifetime. How great to be able to find this cache! A nice drive along the beach on the lovely sunny blue sky day. Up the little rise in thongs was a slippery effort of fun! Cache all in good condition.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT.TFTC. A great trip down the beach to find this one.Funny to see the ocean lapping into the red dirt with the sand further away from the water.
Heading north after attending the last QOGM in Longreach, with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506.We stopped along the way to pick up a few caches and signed the log as PDGC.(Papi Drovers Geoturtle Crackers) or The Drovers.A nice easy multi here. Picked up a trackable to move along. Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable.
Papi4506, Team Crackers, The Drovers and myself all headed to Longreach for the last QOGM. From there, we decided to attempt to get to the northern most tip of the Australian mainland. On our way, we stopped in here for a night and had a lovely camping spot. Camp was set up and a short stroll later, the cache was in hand.Thank you for placing and maintaining the cache for so long.
The Drovers, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers and myself had a great time at the last ever QOGM, held in Longreach this year. We are attempting to grab as many LGA's as we can along the way.We attempted to reach the tip last trip up this way but were washed out. We have decided to try again so we are able to pick up some caches further north. We were lucky that this was nice stroll and quick find after camp had been set up. Back for fish and chips for dinner and the day was complete. We used the acronym PDGC (Papi Drove(rs) Geoturtle Crackers) to save room in the logs. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
After having a fantastic time at the last ever QOGM event in Longreach we are now heading north with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.We pulled up at the first location and then reading the cache page turned it into a very easy multi for us. With the co-ords in hand for gz we headed off to the caravan park to set up.Once done we then had a very enjoyable walk to gz where the nice breeze kept the temperature down. Once at gz with this many eyes looking the container didn't take too long to reveal itself and we added our acronym to the log book before returning everything where it was.We enjoyed the sunset on our way back to but fish and chips form the cafe, they were delicious. To save room in the log we signed PDGC (Papi Drove Geoturtle Crackers)
Lovely walk along the beach on dusk, worked out the coordinates previous day and today we signed and returned. Late log. TFTC

Staying nearby so we aimed our morning walk in the direction of this one.
Found two containers so signed both.

Departed Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and I'm loving it
We have been to the cap and are on our way home now having a few more adventures as we go. Tonight we are visiting Weipa for the night before heading south again.
Found whilst enjoying a beautiful sunset!

WoW - a total Bucketlist trip for us, up to the Tip and Top of Cape York this week and added bonus for us while on our epic trip from the most South West Corner of WA to the most North East corner of the Australian Mainland.
This is a milestone geocache for us, as it’s our 530th LGA
Thanks for 30 minutes of walking
A favourite point for this one as it is an awesome remote cache and a milestone for us

Took our stroll today, tangked with cache guardian but managed to sign. Great to get a cache in this area to mark our travels. Tftc
Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia. Traveling up solo through central Queensland, I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend near Cairns for the rest of the trip northwards, finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Green Gecko!
After taking three weeks to meander my way up from Adelaide to Cairns on my own, I met up with FeatherWaite and another friend to head further north to Cape York.
Last night we camped near Chilli Beach, then headed across to Weipa today.
It was rather warm, but just a short walk to GZ and a quick find.
Thanks Smouch for the cache.

Took two attempts, one late last night and one this morning. The GPS wouldn't settle but my geo senses kicked in. To date, my northernmost find in Australia. Cape York, here I come!
A quick and easy find after a lovely lunch at the camp ground and before our mine tour this afternoon. TFTC
had a ball staying at the nearby caravan park and was able to enjoy a stroll to get the final.
Wonderful to be leaving the corrugations and dust behind for a day. Weipa is a great stop. Drinks and a meal at the pub last night watching the sunset. Today we had our walk from the caravan to make a find here. The cache is in good condition. Thanks and fav point
Lovely walk along a perfectly shady pathway with loads of birds and geckos TFTC
Flying out this arvo, so we found 30 and went straight to the final.
The birds were really chirping today. It’s amazing to walk a short distance and feel miles away.

Didn’t bother with this one while in town as the logs didn’t make it sound achievable
Well I found the first waypoint OK
I even managed to extract a full set of coords
So I headed there ...
... only to find that there was no tree as suggested by the clue ??
GZ was in someones camper trailer
Dunno where I've gone wrong with this one ???
And by the sounds of things ...
... I will be wasting me time looking for the second waypoint anyway

Thanks Green Gecko for the cache. It’s #1072 for us. We found your cache on 8 August 2019. Finally found the final. Spent 30mins trying to extract the first coords. CO needs to check this as the piece of plastic is broken and almost impossible to extract. Right now you need some sort of extraction tool.
Second coords nowhere to be found. I will log a Needs Maintenance - CO needs to replace this.
Went the wrong way round to the final! There is only one way to go (counter clockwise)!!
Took way longer than the 30mins stated but we had fun and got lots of exercise in the hot afternoon sun.

Green Gecko, your geocache 30min a day (GC1YTE7) needs urgent maintenance. We visited it on 8 August 2019 and the first container needs to have the strip of plastic replaced as it’s broken.
We searched everywhere for the second container and couldn’t find it anywhere near the coords given. Suggest CO checks it out and replaced if necessary.
Cheers Bunkshyde

We’re visiting Weipa while on our way to The Tip.
This morning we thought a bit of exercise would be great (we’ve been sitting in a car for a few days) and we set off for WP1. Found this cleverly placed cache no problem. With the next coords in the GPSr we were on the move again. At the 2nd WP we had no luck finding the cache containing the next coords. So we resorted to reading previous logs to try and glean a hint and saw some coords for the final. Yay!! We were on our way again. At GZ we quickly found the cache. Took the TB to move along.
That walk is exactly what we needed. Thanks heaps for this cache.

Walked from the caravan park to the cache and found it very quickly. I dropped off a TB for the next person to move on.
This was a late afternoon find after some assistance from previous logs. I was a little unsure of if this was still in place given the DNF logs and the last logged find in July 2018. But I found the container without a problem and was able to sign a slightly damp log. TFTC
Had a look at GZ first. Then with the coordinates from an old log we walked towards the cache.
Hot here missing the cool pool in Townsville.

It is actually there. Went down yesterday and found the right spot but must have had cache blindness because I went back this morning and found it in a very short time. Pity it is not still a real multi though. Tftc
Catching up with the logging of the finds for the last few days, as we have been off the air with very limited service up in Cape York. This is the third time we have travelled to Cape York, but the first time since we started caching.
This was an interesting multi but was made somewhat easier by some of the logs left by previous finders. We decided to act on that information and the find was made with not too much trouble. Cache found, log signed, job done. Thank you, Green Gecko, for this 30 minutes of exersize.

So yeah... did not find it this time... will try again in the near future 'cause I live in the area.
We are lucky enough to have very special geofriends who very kindly offered to look after our furbaby while we headed to the tip of Cape York and detoured to some lovely National Parks along the way. We attempted any geocaches which we passed along the way and this was one of them
Very many thanks to all those who have placed and maintain their caches in this very remote part of the country
We had a couple of nights in Weipa and found this cache nearby.
Many thanks for the hide Green Gecko[^][^][^]

I was up on fieldwork in the Weipa area and finally managed to find some down time to grab a cache. The start location for this one was near where I was staying so it was easy enough to get to. After a short walk we reached ground zero for the final cache which had a lovely view. The hint only left a few options for where the cache could be do that made it relatively easy. Thanks for placing this cache. Greetings from New Zealand.
Visiting my grandson in Weipa as we continue our meandering across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter.
I am so pleased to be able to post a smilie at long last for this cache and thanks must go to GrumpyBump and Wazza&Kara for the updated coordinates.

On our Cape York Adventure. Has taken a while to get here but we are having a wow of a time.
Managed to find your cache along our journey although by manually entering the coords given by others we had a few false starts. we did pick up the TB left here.

In Weipa for a few days to iron out the corrugations of tbe PDR. Could not believe our luck in having a cache so close to the caravan park. Wandered along the sand track, using the given coordinates. After walking around in a few circles, we had the cache to hand.
Thanks green gecko

Found it. A bit confusing but carried on and found the treasure with great views of setting sun and lowish tide
Working in Weipa for a couple of weeks and thought I would knock this one off on my day off.
Found at 9:02 AM GAFF2 in the company of Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.
We were camped just 440 meters away, but still wanted to see if we could get a bit closer by car. Managed to do that and then it was just a short walk to the only structure that looked likely. Got the cache out, signed the log book and then started to enjoy the lovely scenery.
Thanks Smouch.
Feedback: Based on the previous comments, I just used the final co-ords posted in the logs.

Beating in Weipa for the day I decided to knock off both caches in town. Having grab 1st to find on the earth cache, I decide to head over to this multi. Like those before me, I used to previous finders coords to get me to the end as I struggled with the waypoints.

Thanks for the updated co-ords and info. Find #43 for our honeymoon as we make our way from Perth to the top via a quick and unexpected tyre fix in weipa.
After searching for 30min at S1 we gave it up without any hope. We searched the whole area but did not manage to find. Furthermore, the previous logs confused us, since we were only able to read the last 30 ones. Is it still a multi or not? Are there other coordinates available or not? Please make it clear for the next ones...
What would the chance be that I'd be near the only multi in Cape York on the weekend when we need one for a souvenir , pretty slim but lucky for me we were!
I wasn't too hopeful that is be able to complete it the orthodox way, lucky for me some info a few logs back gave me enough to make the find .
We are currently halfway through a 6 week trip that found us travel from Officer in Victoria to the very top of Mainland Australia to date we have driven 6100km!
Throughly enjoying the trip.

We found the first tree and after contacting GGecko, the last but no sign of the treasure. Thanks GG for the complimentary find we did spend an hour on it. Had been looking forward to the walk in this 28 degree heat before the long drive to Moreton Telegraph station but they're the breaks. Enjoyed looking around Weipa. TFTC
Another one done. Woo Hoo! I love the challenge of the geocache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hide. This is an amazing world-wide game of hide and seek. I love it! I also enjoy caching with my family, and meeting fellow cachers. It really is a small world when I read over cache logs. **Thanks go to Smouch** for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated.

We arrived in Weipa soon after lunchtime after leaving Bramwell Station this morning on our way south from The Tip.
We checked out the availability of local caches later in the afternoon and checked logs to see if any were still available. The logs told us that there was one available but indicated there may be some problems. Luckily coordinates were available for the final location and it was not far from the caravan park. So we talk the short walk up the beach and duly found the cache. After the elk back it was time to enjoy the sunset.

Couldn't find 1st one. Then read logs for final one. Cache container melted a bit but still watertight. Left a pencil. Log is clean and dry. And after a nice walk we are right back near our camp sight TFTC cheers Rob
Made two attempts to find this one today all to no avail. Even took (non-geo) hubby with me as he is often much quicker at finding caches even though he professes not to enjoy it. Met 2Ns who also found it all confusing
For a multi to work we should have coordinates to move from one cache to another. We could not find any other coordinates after the initial ones so had to abandon our mission.
