I found this one a few years ago by accident so i went back today to find it again but there was nothing to be seen. Im guessing was washed away with all the heavy rain lately.
Cache 3 of 8 for the day
Cache 3 of 8 for the day
Our first bump in the road, and i think would of been the cache of the day. But we could not find it.Spent a considerable amount of time, looking, searching, reading logs for clues. All said and done, we could not find it. We found gz in a dry water course, so the cache could be silted over, or washed away. We try not to distrub tto much whilst looking, so it may well be there, but this one was a turning point today for us today, as the 12 before hand were had easily. We enjoyed the area, the history, the views, just not the cache. OH well, we have to come back and clean out the area on another day, so maybe then. TFTC.
Walking past with the dog and kids today, and although I found this cache exactly some 11 years ago (to the day!) I thought the kids might enjoy the hunt today. They did.
It was nice to see a cache last so long in the wild. Next time I check in I will bring some more swag with me.
This cache is one of those good sizes that you can actually trade in.

Awesome trail walk! Will be recommending this to as many people as possible!

TFTC. A nice quick find once I got down there. The walk wasn’t too hard, I had the aid of a hiking stick. Some nice and interesting nature things to look at. I could have taken a bigger log sheet had I thought before setting off. Still room for a few more people thanks to Shane and Bill. One of my favourite views while on the walk. A favourite for me as I lived the walk and steps.
Found with Shaneo58. Doing some caches around the Greta area, since our neck of the woods was expecting rain all day. the cache was partially exposed, about 8metres from GZ, but under rock as per hint, cache was empty but we had a small piece of paper to leave in cache, some maintenance required for this one,
**Thanks For The Cache** Omega62.
This is the 6th cache of 12 for today making a grand total of 3145 at 10:34:00 AM on Thu 6May2021

Found today with BillHill531. Cache was found a little bit away from GZ.Nothing inside the container also. Found something to write on though. TFTC Down Stairs.
Decided to take a detour on my way along the New England Hwy. Found the cache container, but unfortunately it has been muggled, with all contents removed. Sorry I did not have anything to create a new log.
We found the cache container some ways downhill in the little creek valley. Replace it a gz with a rock inside and in front of so hopefully it doesn’t creep again

We could not find it, so searched down stream and there it was, must have washed down with the rain. We put it back, based on previous photos, and put a rock inside to make it heavier. TFTC
Thanks for choosing this spot, the stairs we would never have seen without a cache being here. Took travel bug. Tftc
WOW, thanks to geocaching another area where we would never have found ourselves except for people like the cache owner who place caches in these interesting places.
We wandered down the 'stairs', and loved the cache notes explaining why the steps are here.
Unfortunately there is no cache container just a plastic bag with a log sheet in it. We did not have a spare cache container with us to put a new one in place. Could the next cacher please bring a container.

While having an overnight stop at Branxton we went to look for this cache.
Decided to walk the old road before heading towards the GZ. Searched the area then after reading the hint closed in on the area.
Its good to see these old steps, the sign at the top says they are being maintained.
Lots of good hides at various locations.
Thanks for placing this cache Omega62

What a great spot! The steps are amazing, and the views too. There is still no container, just the log and contents at GZ. Tftc!
Just checking to see if there is meant to be a container with everything inside
We have headed south a few weeks early to have a little holiday prior to attending the Oz Geomuster Mega event. After spending a few days in Sydney we headed up to the Hunter Valley wine region for a a short time but today is our last day in the area, so we made the best of it while we could
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you Omega62 for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Found it today while out cycling in Greta. We sat up at the top of the stone stairs to admire the views before continuing on our way. TFTC!
Found out today whilst having a look at this spot that I've been meaning to do for some time .

Find #1448
Back to Singleton today, this time taking the low road through Lochinvar, Branxton and Greta. After four stops we were 1 find to 3 DNFs and getting a little disheartened, but some good finds later in the day left the scorecard at 10 finds and 5 DNFs, and an overall good day out together. The drive along the back-country roads into Singleton is certainly more pleasant than the HEX. We've left a few here and there for future trips, well, that's our story!
What a cool spot, we surely would never have come across this place without a cache here. We trekked down the steps, found the cache quickly, and trekked more slowly out... Dropped off 2 TBs. TFTC

What a lovely walking track to GZ. Upon arrival lid was off and in a different location to cache. Lid and contents found and all put back together for the next cacher that comes along. Many thanks for bringing us to this great location as we travel around the surrounds of the Hunter Valley. TNLN SL TFTC
Great chache, beautiful spot... im local and didn't know it existed. Walk back up was a killer
We enjoyed our bush walk through here this arvo. The kids especially loved the creepy, dark part. Even though the GPS was no good we found the cache in the obvious spot. A big brown spider ran out so be careful. We left some toys and a leaf TB.
Was looking forward to getting back to log this one. I noticed this morning it had been replaced so took the geofam for a quick run to celebrate the end of summer as well as the leap year. This area is so beautiful and I never would have known it was here but for this cache. TFTC
Excellent cache with amazing views. Tough walk back as it's uphill all the way but did this on dusk with aussieben and kingfisherau and give this one 5 stars. Never knew this area of the Hunter existed. Thanks for the find.
Loved the view , thanks for taken us on a journey and reactivating the cache..
Nice easy find today, my second trip to find this cache a great view when the sun starts setting. Thanks for replacing this cache. Found with kingfisher_au and team lewin.
We looked around for a good half an hour and never found it.. We looked around the area and didn't find anything. There has been storms lately so may need the owner to check it
No luck today, been awhile since it was found maybe the cache owner could check on this one
Beautiful spot. Fairly certain we were right on GZ from the clues/photos/GPS but no luck. There was a fair bit of erosion from the big storms, wondering if this might have affected it. Will try again
I drove as close as I dared with the Jazz, then I hoofed it down for an easy find, a great spot.
Stairs, Stairs, Stairs... Make sure you take the right route. We did the round about route, but eventually found it. TFTC
TFTC! We came out here to grab this cache today It was such a beautiful sunny day to be outside before work. We walked down & grabbed the cache (& saw a bone next to it! Scary) & on our way back to the car, we saw an airshow! What an incredible location to be watching an airshow!! Filmed it with the phone. Thanks so much for bringing us here =)
Thanks for the exercise - an easy find though at the end of a steep walk. TFTC
checking in while on School Excursion with Greta Public School Year One class who were checking out our historic stairs.
cache is well hidden and in good nick.

Today we stayed at vivs place with airbnb. We went down to the river and found this great cache. We enjoyed the great view on our way. Thanks for hidding. Loves ja ka from Germany.
Glad this wasn't a multi where we had to count the stairs.
After the find I continued down to the river.
Its weird seeing sand not near the ocean.
Thanks for the walk!

(SORRY about the late logging - 5/1/14, but just realised that I was missing a particular D/T cache, and on investigating my log book for that date noticed that I had also missed logging this one as well. Well, it was very close to midnight that I found it, so will put it down to caching fatigue!)
Extremely close to midnight 7Day Trig Hunter and myself had nice evening walk on down a COUPLE of stairs. We had sprayed ourselves liberally with insect repellent and it seemed to work. With a borrowed GPS it was a quick find, as 7DTH was using a Terris, which was as useful as a compass with a magnet near it. Think I may have left a pair of scissors, as it is a decent sized cache.
TFTC Omega 62, and I will have to find a few more of yours closer to home.

Great cache, been past this spot countless times, preGC that is.
a lucky reflection gave away the hide immediately, rehid a little better, coordinates were spot on, pulled me up right in front.
cheers.

this place is awsome. big thanks to Natina and the Branxton/Greta scout group for keening the place up.
How much further?
How many more big rocks?
I think I'm going to fall?
This was all I said going down , my son was fine he loved it.
Glad you said about the shoes , mozzie spray and water.
But it was worth it in the end...Great Big Cache.
We were very lucky to find it because we could only get it to 16m away.
Either the GPS signals were not getting through the trees or it has been moved.
It is in a good spot , under a big rock...but coordintaes are wrong.
Took - GOLD COIN ( We have 3 now )
Left - A snake as a friend for the other snake in there.

Have looked at this one a few times but never had the chance to go in so today while in the area getting a few caches walked down to this one. What a pleasant surprise such a nice cool place on a warm afternoon. The Cache was found easily thanks to Omega62 for placing this cache here.
A most pleasant day to go out and do some caching. This was one we targetted and were able to find. An interesting lot of stairs lead us most of the way to gz.
Thanks to Omega62.
Thanks to Omega62.
Had to come up to Greta to pick up a bike so thought we would grab some caches on the way.
Thsi was an interesting area with a bit of history. The old steps made it a little easier getting to and from GZ. Very hot today but a nice breeze was helping. Mrs C zeroed in on this good sized cache with lots of swaps. Thanks Omega62

1345 GAFF1 Found while down in'Newcastle' for Fathers Day. Had been here a few weeks ago, and stopped for a 'cat nap' but woke up four hours later, so had to hurry on to where I was going to - Lithgow.
A nice walk down, and coordinates were good.
Left a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen, and an Indian figurine.
Took: a centipede.
Through: Coins – ... hours have gone-coin, Krtik’s 250, 3Bros, Lighthouses, Bridges, B2B, Baa, Neigh and Oink, Bear Bait TB, and SummerLovin521 TB, and trackable shirt.

Found this one after a nice stroll down the stairs managed to drive to about 80m from GZ Thanks Omega62 for the hide and showing me a place I wouldn't have known about without a geocache being here
