I was interested to read about our R M Williams story and gather the clues for GZ. The lid of the container was very hard to get off and possibly needs changing
Find number 14507 at 8:51:05am on Tuesday the 22 October 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Well, WA Goes Big is done for another year and we are on our way home again now, via Perth, Kalgoorlie and the Nullarbor but slowly over the next five weeks Today we headed off from Peterborough on our way to Burra via Jamestown grabbing a few more local geocaches as we go.A quick find after solving the simple questions.**Thanks for placing this cache Wombat Stew**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Very interesting to learn more about RM, also couldn't resist this close to where we camped. Tftc
Deciphered the coords and made the find! We definately had to pull up to learn about RM Williams while on RM Williams way!
Away for the June Long Weekend with TheWhiteDogGang. We based ourselves at Orroroo and travelled far and wide over 4 days. We managed 1,500 kms during our travels. We managed to find some really old caches, one from 2001, and even managed to get all 9 terrain ratings. Not bad for 2 old farts with no coordination. The weather was dry if not cold on occasions.A good way to spend 4 days.Numbers were gathered and then the cache was quickly found.TFTC
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.A very informative and interesting read about this iconic Aussie. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 6 - Morgan to Jamestown via Burra and Hallett. After a fun day around Morgan yesterday, it was time to move on. A very cold night last night. I did a few roadside caches along the way, but I spent most of my caching day around Burra. I have done quite a bit of caching in Burra before, but it was great to see a wonderful collection of caches to be attempted today. I even managed two sets of Labs, including a good walk around the mine site. As I headed over to Jamestown, there were a few caches that drew attention to the huge wind farms on all of these ridge lines. My last cache ended up pretty much being where I stopped to camp for the night. Into town for dinner tonight. After a lap of town to do the Mural Labs, I headed back to my van for two final caches of the afternoon. This virtual was at the same starting point as the other cache, so I could do them together. A bit of reading gave me the numbers to calculate GZ. I then headed over to my van and found the cache a lot closer than I might have expected. Thanks for the cache Wombat Stew46475.20 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2010 Compass Rose Santa Maria A#191**Albida**
We worked out the coordinates. 10 years of geocaching and some good old fashioned problem solving got us to the jackpot. SL TFTC
#5245 En route north towards our campsite at Horseshoe tackling brutal head winds in our new van. Jamestown offered a good chance for a break for all including our poor geocar. Grabbed some lunch and set out solving and finding this multi. Interesting backstory to this very well known brand in the land of Oz. Thanks for sharing Wombat Stew.
Made a mistake in the coordinates and spent 10 minutes looking in the wrong spot then came back, changed the co-ords and found it pretty quickly. The area where the face is looks a bit suspicious... Cache log was wet. Probably need a new container. Really fun cache! Thank you
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders. Basing ourselves in Peterborough for a few days to grab finds in the surrounds. Log book is quite damp so needs attention.
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches as we go. Thanks, Wombat Stew, for a very interesting multicache.
The there of us were heading home from Orroroo and stopped here for a rest and to find a cache. We headed over to the calculated co-ordinates and Mr Tardis found the cache in the first place he looked - don't you just love it when that happens?Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Wombat StewPS: Sorry for the late log. Slowly getting through logging my finds.
Nice and easy quick find great place to stop have a rest and eat something tftc
Time for a Tuesday Trekking again.
Today it was a duo of cachers, as Brisal5, was unable to join us today.
Ttrogg picked up the Rat from the Rat's nest.
We then headed north, chasing boxes.
After having lunch in the near by park.
We ventured over to do this multi.
A quick find and stamp.
Have to love the history lesson.Tftc

After picking up the Rat from her nest we went on a Tuesday Trek in a northerly direction . My main aim was a newish AdLab in Clare, after that we continued north where there were quite a few Used 2B Churches that needed to be found. The day's list also included a variety of physical caches and even a virtual. Another satisfying day's caching before heading home for some relaxing.
Had just had lunch nearby then returned to where we'd parked before lunch for some figures then drove around and parked at GZ for a quick find.

Left the van at Spalding and caching around Jamestown, after a short stroll cache was in hand, tftc
Day of caching the area with a muggle mate. He actually caught on pretty quickly, and had a sharp eye in the search phase. Navigation not so good!! Enjoyable local history, and an SA icon. With coordinates calculated, had to pause while a red muggle ute sat near gz and had lunch. Returned later for the find. Tftc
Peterborough to Jamestown
While towing the caravan we stopped along the highway where it is safe to pull over.
Once we had dropped our caravan at the camping ground we did a tour of town following the geocache trail. This was a good way to visit town for our 1st time.
This was the closest cache to where we are camped.
Thanks for placing the cache.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Multis are usually not my thing, so it wasn't surprising to me to find a lot in my found database that hadn't been logged.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
DAY 5: Exploring some mid north towns.
grabbed some numbers and soon had the cache in hand.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

We travelled from Portland Victoria across to WA to see our daughter in Perth. Now we are slowly heading home via Yallingup, Denmark and Esperance. Having now crossed back into SA we stayed a night in Streaky Bay, Whyalla for three nights of miserable weather and now we have about 3 nights to get back home.
Today we travelled from Whyalla to Jamestown.
After setting up camp we headed out to visit a couple of the local spots of interest.

So we did it, we took the plunge and early last year made arrangements to sell our little hobby farm in South Gippsland and ‘do a Big Lap’. Then Covid hit , super bad timing but it just made us more determined to go.
No full lap is complete without a lap of the little island first. So after tidying up our affairs and putting everything into storage, we celebrated Christmas with our families and hit the road.
We recently spent 7 magnificent weeks in beautiful Tasmania, then we just did a quick trip down the west coast of boring old Victoria, making our way to South Australia.
There we spent 20 odd days along the Limestone coast, bagging out on Abalone most days, very few crayfish though The Fleurieu Peninsula and beautiful Adelaide done It was then off to the Barossa to follow the footsteps of my Great Grandfather who lived in a Willow Tree with his family. That was a highlight of the trip so far, we then raked a few crabs along Parham (Thompson’s beach of course ) and foraged for Razor fish at Port Wakefield.
The Yorke Peninsula has no called our name, we’ll be here for a week or so,
A few caches along the ways
Thanks for being one of the CO’s who supplied us with a cache to do on the way.

After staying overnight in Jamestown, we made an early start to look for caches in the town. This was the third. Whilst the name of R M Williams is well known, we knew very little of the history of this very interesting man. So we enjoyed coming to this site, completing the requirements for the virtual and collecting information for the multicache.
With the final coordinates calculated, we headed off to GZ where accurate coordinates and a common style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Wombat Stew for the cache.

This was predicted to be another hot day, so we headed out of Peterborough and set our sights on the Clare Valley area, as did ilook4geo. Some caches were picked out for the hunt list and represented the towns and districts that we travelled through. It was a mix of types today, with traditionals, a multi and a virtual.
Each cache had its log signed with two more names and photos were taken for the virtual.
The info boards here were easy to read, were clearly set out and interesting. The numbers needed were soon worked out and after a short walk the cache container was quickly located.

This was a funny find as mogni and I needed to make the find. CP waited at the car and we headed to our endpoint which led us to a spot that looked likely. We made the find, a nearby camping muggle spotted us, we told them about our hobby, they were appeased and then we spotted a caching mates caravan. Wanting to be friendly, we headed to the caravan and had a chat, leaving poor CP waiting at the car. Lol.
