DNF whilst out for a day's caching with Bushfire, Packetstorm 4 and RHPS. I have no idea what happened with this one. We spent quite some time searching, checked the hint, made a call to the owner and still didn't get anywhere. The only thing I can say is that this area should be called dog dropping park - it is absolutely everywhere. I have honestly never seen so much crap in one place before!

03-Apr-10

While a lot of cachers are in Wagga Wagga for the mega event this weekend RHPS/ PacketStorm4/ Speedy stamps and Bushfire decided to clean up some caches in Werribee, Altona and Williamstown today.

This was to be a DNF but after reading the previous logs I have an idea. Four pairs of eyes could not spot this hide so after too long a call was made to the owner who was up at Wagga Wagga enjoying the mega event he gave us a hint and the correct co-ords which matched the cache notes we were still unable to find this cache.

We will have another look on the next trip to this area as I still have a few caches to put smiley faces on. Thanks tackle_head.

Finally got around to logging this one and realised that I was the last one to find the cache before it disappeared (unless there are any other late loggers). I always try to be careful when looking for a cache, so it was somewhat of a relief when I read that the council appears to have removed this one.
In any case, it was a good hide. I come from North Queensland, so, at first, I was a little hesitant about putting my hand into dark unseen places...
Signed the log (not that it matters now...), and I hope to see this cache back up soon.

On my regular plod up from Altona to the Cloudspotting Office at '100 Steps Lookout', I was of the intent to do some Geocaching, now that this 'delightful distraction' has come into my plods. On familiar ground, I had an idea where this cache from 'tackle_head' might be but I still let the GPSr do some 'techno-guiding'. Reaching GZ, I 'recalled' some of the earlier Logs that had me intrigued and wondered what this cache was going to be. Unwisely, I did not put on the Plodgloves, and as a result I literally leapt 20 feet into the air when I 'found' the cache! It's a hoot! Proof that emotional instinct makes an assessment before the logic of your brain kicks in and makes a 'reasoned' judgement. After picking myself up following fits of laughter, I just had to take a few 'snaps' of this cache for the Plod files. Gosh, if you had a webcam set up here you'd get some terrific images of the reactions of Cachers when they find this one. I'll never plod past here without bursting into laughter in the future. Thanks to 'tackle_head' for such an interesting hide and a hilarious cache. TQP

Even though I knew it was fake I couldn't bring myself to reach my hand in and retrieve it. I grabbed a stick from nearby and knocked it loose. Replacing it was done very quickly and with as little contact as possible, who knows if he has family in there with him!

Thanks,

R - B

The cache owner was dying for me to attempt to find this one and my reaction on finding it didn't disappoint him. "Argh". Thanks Steve!

06-Feb-10
Found while out on a day caching with Acts2YouthGroup. Well, a good place to hide a cache and I am glad that it was he who did the retrieval! Nice piece of work here! Thanks tackle_head.

This was cache # 21 of 36 for the day, in the company of Alansee. Found in the first place I looked, a very interesting hide, Alan was glad I found it and not him. The circus was in town at this location. My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.

23-01 3rd find of the day at 17:03 and 838th find in total.
Parasurfers everywhere today, quite interesting to stop and watch, but not for too long after all there is a cache to find.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks tackle_head for the caching fun!

Found 1.10pm
Decided to trust my Garmin that the cache was only 300m away rather than my TomTom which insisted that I had to go another 2.4km to get close (very strange). Walking to GZ we were a bit worried about the nearby muggles as the circus is in town but we had the final location to ourselves. Was not sure that I wanted to put arm that far in so looked around in a few other spots first before just gritting my teeth and going for it.

Thanks tackle_head

We found this cache at 12:35pm as the 3rd of 21 on our Bay to Maribynong Afternoon. Looks like we are going to start this series from the end and pick this one up first. The 60C was right on the money for this one and we found the cache in the first place checked. Thanks from D & K B-A.

13-Jan-10
Tricky one to find. Nice hide loved the concept. nice view.

03-Jan-10
Having completed the walking circuit, one team headed for home and the rest headed for the cars to get to this one. Great entertainment from the kite-surfers as we walked in to GZ and back, picking up the cache at 5:05pm.

After our very enjoyable "Amble Around Altona" caching expedition we decided to drive down to this one with EuDes and Alsume. Mr ssmc4 joined them for the stroll to the cache whilst Mrs ssmc4, the kids and the dog (all a bit tired after our walks) stayed in the comfort of the car. The cache was quickly in hand as the kites flew right over the top of us.

We had some flathead fillets for dinner last night and they were delicious, but unfortunately not home-caught. We must give this fishing business more of a go. Many thanks to tackle_head.

03-Jan-10
With our walking tour completed and one team heading for home, we took to the cars for some extrapicnicular caching Wink. This was first on the list and we headed to GZ where the excellent coordinates had us with the stash in hand quite quickly at 17:05. What a great spot on such a glorious afternoon Big Grin.

TNLNSL. Thanks tackle_head.

02-Jan-10
Found on an afternoon out with Monch's Mob and tackle_head. Lots of kite surfers including one with his kite stuck in a tree. I reckon I'd be good at that part if I gave it a go. The cache was in hand quite quickly. Thanks for the cache. Oh we saw another interesting sight here too - a dog was well out into the water barking and trying to chase the surfers - very funny.

02-Jan-10
Another new park for us and it is always good to read your educational cache pages.
I've often wondered what people were fishing for on this side of the bay.
Thanks

02-Jan-10
A few dog walkers today and the odd cyclist. The breeze was creating a few white caps on the bay and a lone kite surfer was strutting his stuff in the shallows.
Oh and two cachers looking for a plastic box.

01-Jan-10
Easy find while out caching with Squalid and Tackle Head . Loved this spot, there were a lot of Kite surfers with some impressive moves!

Found by Mary & David at 0840. We've had dinner at the Golf Club across the road quite a few times. A lovely park for man and dog. Our thanks again to tackle head.

My dog enjoyed this one too. Thanks.

I haven't fished down here, but I have sailed off this beach. It is very shallow for quite a while.
A nice walk, and a good hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

17-Dec-09
A good hide! The rain held off a little here so we managed to not get any wetter.
Thanks again tackle_head

12-Dec-09
Tristan has come for a flying visit back in time.

12-Dec-09
[I saw this one pop up the other night, but I'd thought I'd leave the FTF to someone else.
Congrats again The Empire - maybe the next one I'll give you a run for your money =oP]
The hiding spot was closed with a twig.
Was weary to stick my hand into unknown spaces because of spiders.

Thanks again tackle_head for the caches this afternoon.]

12-Dec-09
Found this evening while we waited for sunset (on our way to Wyndham Lights). Like previous finders have noted, we were a little worried about sticking our hands into places we couldn't see, but we did it anyway, and felt the pleasing plastic of a sistema. Thanks for another Altona cache, tacklehead.

Another nice easy find in the logical place and quite daring too.
On the stroll to GZ there were a multitude of people and dogs but they seemed more interested in balls than in caches so I was leftalone to find this one.
I think there will be a lot of wet cars on the way home as it looks like the dogs enjoyed the water at the beach as well as the balls.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks tackle_head for this cache experience today. BTW, what happened to #4?

Find # 743 @ 16:05
Arrived at the location and noted a hovering muggle on the phone at gz. I patiently waited for him to depart and I soon had the cache in hand. I noted that themd had signed the log only five minutes earlier. Hmmm I wonder?
TNLN Thanks for the cache tackle_head.
