I struggled with the maths for this one (I was reading it as BODMAS, rather than just as digits), so my calculated co-ords were way out, but I was able to determine where I needed to go for both WP2 and GZ based on the info and prior logs. Once at GZ I had a good look around, inside and out, but sadly wasn't able to find the container - thanks anyway.
#12655 14:00A nice short multi along the park. Both waypoints were visited and answers found. Then it was a short distance to the cache. After reading some of the names, sometimes even families, it was down to business and the cache was found.TFTC Croydon Crws
Our this way so needing a multi find headed over. A nice walk around including the trees. Made a mess of the maths as per most multis before writing it out properly. A look at other logs and I seemed to have the same issues with GZ before moving to the logical structure and circling it and then spotting the hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found It!
Worked this one out while at the nearby event then went to the final location afterwards and found the cache! Nice park.

I'd determined the GZ years ago but had not had the chance to get back. I checked off hidey holes one by one until some camo was spied.

I worked out the coordinates for this multi a long time ago, but for some reason never got around to finding the cache! Can't remember why!
Today I was back in the area and decided to give it a go. My coordinates were *slightly* wrong, but brought me to the correct structure. I then misinterpreted the hint and spent a long time looking "outside". After combing through some logs I found one which said "inside but outside" and that was the winner for me! I then knew where to search and not long later I soon had the cache in hand! Phew!
Thanks for the fun, great park and location!

After circling the wrong structure for a considerable time I read through the logs to find that my calcs must be wrong. A nice smelling area behind me was GZ and a few circles of that had CIH. Not sure what’s going on with the math here but this is a nice walk. TFTC
Hard to find without reading comments, couldn’t work out co-ordinates. Great hiding spot though!
Wish I'd seen the note from Azzepious (on cleaning up the math) before setting off for this one. Couldn't get any of the coordinates to work out properly. Figured out WP2 because we're locals and know the site very well. Final coordinates led us far, far away. Had a sit down in a rosy spot to recalculate, and asked my copilot to have a search around where we were sitting. It was right behind us.
Mid afternoon and I could just tell that the sun was going speed up its descent to the horizon...TFTC
Well I must have done the sums correctly as I found the cache. What a lovely park and I also enjoyed the roses that were in full bloom. TFTC
Did the maths on this after getting the required info but I think a mistake was made , so I sort help from a PAF and had a Doh moment. Easy find with the correct maths. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

#5590- Down in my old stomping grounds today, catching up with my kindy buddy. I found the information easily enough, but made a rookie error and ended up contacting a paf for help. Realised the error of my ways and strolled away for an easy find. Thanks for bringing me back here after all these years away. The flowers were blooming beautifully today. Thanks.
Well, a wonderfully warm Sydney spring day saw me venture to Concord for this multi. A council workman was blowing clouds of dust while trimming the grass in the park.
I eventually found the outside on the inside and signed the log.

Passing by today and decided to stop and have a break and look for this multi in order to find more multis for UGC 06B Advanced Diploma - 2nd Credit - Challenge cache down in the ACT.
After collecting all of the need information we calculated coordinates for GZ. With a quick search we made the find. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Croydon crew.

When I came here about a month ago, I had a few minutes before an appointment, so I thought I would get the second waypoint, and then come back afterwards for the final. However, I botched my calculations and ended up at a different spot -- yes, there was a building, but not the one I was after. Alas, after my appointment I was running late for something else, so I wasn't able to head to the correct WP, though I had already corrected the calculations.
Today I was here a bit early again, so I headed straight off to WP2 and got the information I needed. It looked like the business premises were empty, or were in the process of being upgraded a bit. I might have had a look in the business to see what's up these days. May need an upgrade myself ...
The final co-ords were set, and I followed my compass. I was a bit conflicted about the clue and what my GPSr were telling me, but I guess that just depends on the definition of some words and where the boundaries lie. After a walk around an outer ring I was sure I had spotted something that needed investigating. Sure enough, it was what I was hoping it would be, and now I can pop my yellow smiley here.

After The string, we walked down to this one. We did not notice the note in the description that the sign at WP1 was gone, until we arrived there. Looked at the picture, found the required numbers and sat down to calculate the next coordinates.
Arrived at WP2 and found the required numbers. Did another calculation, and headed to WP2, or so we thought. That location did not look very plausible, so we double-checked our calculations. Now with a new set of coordinates, we found a more promising location.
Started to look around in all possible nooks and crannies, before eventually the cache was found, more inside than outside.

Well this gave me the runaround.
I tried to complete wp2 from home, but I was unsure of the methodology.
I found one way that seemed to yield a junction, and decided that must be it.
Upon arrival at my first attempt, I could see nothing remotely like what I had expected, and decided I must have stuffed the coordinates up.
I retired to the vehicle and tried again. I gave it 4 or 5 goes, trying desperately to envisage what the CO was trying to get at.
But none of the resulting coordinates made any sense.
Eventually I recalculated with my original method, but got a different spot. No matter, Azzepious maths, I must have transposed a digit somewhere. At least this makes sense.
I headed to the spot, immediately saw the next bit of info, and was quickly onto the GZ.
Spent far to much time on the wrong side of the fence, before the hint finally clicked.
Despite relocating I was still to focused on the wrong features, but eventually I noticed the fairly obvious camo.
It just goes to show, it’s only obvious when you’re looking for it.
Signed the nice new log, and replaced.

I’ve been giving it some thought, and I think I’ve struck on what thew me, and plenty of others, about the calculations.
There’s an inconsistency in the brackets and quotation marks between each different coordinate.
Trying to stay true to the way the CO has written them, but tidying the notations, I would suggest the following:
WP2
S: deduct ‘a8(2*b)’ from WP1 South minutes
E: add ‘a(2*b)b’ to WP1 East minutes
WP3
S: deduct ‘e’ from WP2 South minutes
E: deduct ‘(e+g)f’ from WP2 East minutes
To the CO, I realise that the ambiguity may have been the point, if so please feel free to delete this note.
If not, I hope this helps avoid the frustration I had for others to follow.

Had four goes to find this about a month or so ago but later a friend told me the cache was missing. Same friend confirmed it was back so it was an easy find tonight. Tftc!
Like a few others before me, I was overthinking and doing to much maths. When I kept it simple I had some logical waypoints and had what looks to be a newly replaced cache in hand. I’m first to sign the new log TFTC!
I my life too complicated with the calculations, or maybe they are not that easy to follow. Anyway, after many failed attempts I came to the GZ where confirmed with the CO it may have gone missing despite nailing the hidden place...
Tftc anyway

The GZ has a temp fence around it, if my calculations are correct. Lots of trouble making the maths work.
Out this afternoon getting some caches with Brewmaker around Concord, Cabarita and Mortlake. This was my first stop. Parked the car nearby, and found the WPs which then led me to an obvious spot. Read the hint and then easily saw the cache hiding there. Signed the log and then replaced it with a bit more camo so as not to be so easily seen. TFTC
Has passed this park hundreds of times, today finally decided to have a search here. Took a while to figure out how to add minutes to get WP1 and WP2. A short nice walk in the park, and a quick find with geokids. TFTC
That was a bit stiff calculating GZ but we got there in the end. TFTC Croydon crew
We over-complicated the letters/numbers which had us looking in the wrong place at first. Then we realised our mistake and headed over to GZ, where we found the cache in almost the same spot that EverestHigh was searching in the first place. Easy find in the end. TFTC and for the visit to a nice park.
After dropping YGAT early at Strathers to catch a train to the Central West, I didn't feel like battling the peak hour traffic so I drove the short distance for a stroll in this pleasant park and, of course, to attempt this multi. I had no trouble finding the information and calculating GZ but it took a couple of minutes to find the cache. I suspected one spot, but found nothing there. However, when I turned around there it was staring at me.
Nice one, thanks Croydon crew.

After reading some more logs I think my maths was wrong. I will need to revisit this.
Went for a walk and forgot a pen. Had to stop by a newsagents and come back to fill in the log. TFTC
Got there in the end! This one took a bit and made a few errors along the way.
Well we really struggled with this one but persistance and alot of geo sense was required but finally happy to say we made the find.
I finally got around to finding this again after last time when it went missing. TFTC
Today was marked to be a caching day. And when your fate is like that, the only option left is the selection of a cache. This one was in a suitable area and turned out to be a nice experience.
On the train from the city I worked out the WP1 data, hopped on a bus taking a shortcut straight to WP2. A few steps out and it was easy to compute the final coords.
The final was in a pretty location. Normally I may not give all due appreciation to these things but this one deserves a lot of admiration and respect. Beautifully done from those involved back in time.
While searching for the container, a little tell-tale sign caught my eye and the logsheet was soon signed.
All good here. TFTC, Croydon crew!

This one took us a while as our first sums must have been out but once corrected we were on our way. Eventually Bluewattle found the neatly placed cache in a lovely maintained location. Thanks Croydon Crew for the good multi and TFTC
This is a nice park, and it's good to see the bush care volunteers putting in so much work to keep the native vegetation in such good condition.
New cache container and log replaced today. Please ensure 'piece of camo' is handled gently, and cache is removed delicately, not pushed further in accidentally. Please, obviously, replace cameo as found afterwards!

I need to check GZ for this one...could be that this has been muggled again...
Spent a while at GZ after obtaining the coords a few weeks earlier. I think I found where it used to be and also believe it may be gone.
Found with RangerD. Had a little bit of trouble with the math, but new the local area so knew where to source the info needed for the equations. CO provided some help in understanding the math... could have sworn I tried that but the GPS put us way out. Once at GZ had CIH pretty quickly. Signed log. TFTC.
Found it at night with my highly trained sniffer dog (who in fact just looked dumb while i did all the work) Thanks for the cache!
After a quick walk in the park, the details needed were collected and I made my way over to gz for the find. No one was about at the time.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
I drove past earlier in the week to discover the works at GZ had completed. I also discovered the original cache had, indeed, bit the dust at the same time.
Today, I replaced the bison tube and the camo, so it's ready to be found again, with a fresh log! The camo is now in two pieces, not one, so please take your time replacing it exactly as found (GZ is usually muggle-free, so no need to rush the replacement!).

Thanks to the heads up from SWAG gang, I drove by today to find that GZ is undergoing some restoration work, and access is completely blocked. Hopefully my cache escapes 'restoration' too!
I will check back in a few weeks.

Came down here and just had major difficulties in figuring out the puzzle to WP1. The error, it seems, is that I was interpreting it as a literal mathematical equation which, after emailing the CO, was rectified.
But, being the smart cookie I am, it wasn't too hard to figure where WP2 was and where the eventual GZ will be.
Where GZ is, it is completely fenced off at the moment so getting the cache will be out of the question for sometime.
I informed the CO of the situation and they said they will check it out.

Thanks Croydon Crew for bringing us here - the bush regeneration area certainly looks different to the rest of the park and it is worth the short detour - thanks for showing it to us. With all the information gathered and the tricky calculations completed it was than off to find the cache location. Another surprise awaited us here that we had not expected to find, so thanks again for showing us this historic site. With nobody in the vicinity a quick, easy find was made in the first place we looked.
Found by the youngest member of our group in a few seconds after the rest had walked around it for about 5 minutes - tftc!
Worth taking the suggested route between the first and second waypoints.
Starting identifier still not yet replaced, but guessed the business location without a hint as there are limited suitable sites nearby...

Decided to head South a little to pick up a few caches around Concord - including one I'd previously DNFed.
Luckily, it was success all round. Huzzah!
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
Need to get home in just under an hour to be a taxi, so didn't know how far through this multi I'd be able to get.
Due to the missing first waypoint, I parked near the track markers and did my sums (yes I know it would have been smarter to do it at home before I came).
Hmmm, that result doesn't point anywhere matching the description. In fact, knowing the area having played cricked nearby for school, and also after leaving (best moment one or our bowlers taking 8 wickets for 2 runs) I knew where I should be going...
But I digress.
Rechecked the numbers, had a rethink, and then had the spot I expected. Aah, that method.
Pleasant walk to the waypoint, got the info and calculated GZ.
Hmmm, that doesn't work either. More logical if it was...
Recheched the numbers again and got something much more to my liking.
The maths does all work, if you understand what the CO has done.
A quick find at GZ - the cache was almost peeking out of it's hidey hole.
Completed signing duties and replaced - pushing it further in, so the next finder can have extra fun extracting it!
For the memories and the regeneration trail have a favourite point.
And I still have 20 minutes to get home. Easy.

I nice little stroll with my niece and nephew while visiting my parents who live close to the park.
A relatively quick multi to find, but do take the time to make the detour suggested by the cache owner and read the information signs.
If there was a "layer of camouflage" over the cache, this is now missing. However, the cache is still relatively hard to see, and wouldn't be noticed by muggles walking past GZ. You will need your own pen and this may also help with extracting the cache.

Geocache: # 1,089.
Found on: Thursday, 2nd January 2014 at 12:22 AM.
Conditions: clear.
Current streak: # 155 days.
Today's finds: 1 of 3 (included in the total of 7 during the trip).
Caching party: Goughy2012.
Goughy2012 and I wanted to do a few caches prior to to the T20 cricket match over at Sydney Olympic Park and decided to hang around nearby. We successfully found #7 Isaac’s Rest, Train Spotter - Church Street Bridge, Flemo Car Sidings and Frank Zions reserve before we had to leave. After the game we continued by fitting in a few more on the way home, which included Pomeroy street Crossroads, STIF Nolan and Bridge Over the River Tar. At this one, it was dark so we did not take a stroll through the park and went straight for the waypoints (we will have to come back another time). Once we were at Ground Zero it did not take long before we soon had the Cache In Hand. We performed the signing duties before replacing the cache to its original hiding spot. Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing. Thanks For The Cache Croydon crew.

This was our second last cache of the night and what a nice area it is. Ashame this cache is here would have loved to use this memorial as apart of a series of mine but was beaten to it. Great location. Great park and a very quick multi. Found a few massive goldern orb spiders. SL @ 12.22pm. TNLN TFTC
I confess! I did the maths for WP2 from the couch, and it didn't make sense. I knew where it was meant to be, but couldn't get it. So forgot about it. Drove past yesterday and got the year (not realising I still needed to have worked out WP2 anyway) and then couldn't sleep last night so thought bugger it, will try sort this out. And eventually realised I was yet again making it harder than it needed to be - this time by doing too much maths, who would've thought?! Number crunched and hey presto, that looks right! So was in the area again this afternoon and had CIH within a few minutes of attending, leaving me plenty of time to ponder all those names, so many lives affected by that period in our history weren't there... We are so lucky. Anyway, TFTC Croydon Crew!
What a nightmare that was. I hate math questions like this. To me they are a waste of time. Now how about putting the cache in the reserve being talked about. Really disappointed and how to go there just for a walk. Thanks
26/05/13. 9:05 AM. Cache #641. Current streak: 259 days. 7th of 10 for the morning. Like Tyreless says, without the sign at WP1, this cache now doesn't require one to go anywhere near the STI forest, and I sat in the car at my last cache find (Gipps St road troll) to do the WP1 maths. I didn't need to get out of my car for WP2 either - I was stopped at the red light there and could read the 4 digits while I waited for green. So I parked, did my next lot of sums, and walked straight to GZ. No-one about today, which meant I could take my time looking. A few hides seemed likely and it was in about the third of fourth place I looked. Great little multi CCs, thanks. }:)
I'll admit to doing the first parts of this multi from my office. Probably not in the spirit of things....
Got to GZ quickly after some nearby water polo refereeing. After doing the logging duties I spent some time reading all the names.

Find #1387 - 1 for today. Found on 14/03/13 9:44 AM
Thanks to the Croydon Crew for the additional hint. I was a bit confused with the original hint and I was fixated in looking for something I thought it was, in the wrong place.. Went back there and this time there was no problem locating the cache. Thanks again for bringing me here. TNSLLN

13 March 2013 09:41:00 Did the calculations and arrived at GZ hoping for a quick find. I think I've done too many nanos because I cannot locate a simple cache, looked at the garden from so many angles couldn't see anything out of place.
Did the first 2 WPs with Google. Got a little confused with the notation of the clues, did too much multiplying.... After a little while, figured out what CO meant and the coordinates were punched into google maps, revealing the structure. From there it was a quick easy find by the geo wife. TFTC!
Out on a mission today. We got our first geodog two days ago and a call was put out via facebook - "anyone got a kennel they don't want". Wow, two replies an one just up in Concord. On our way I recognised this park where i'd done the legwork but was foiled by council workers. Without the co-ordinates I ventured over and made the find quite a while later after exhausting all my other thoughts. TFTC

Found with Poddy1 today. I had stuffed up the final co-ords for this one so had visited a couple of times but of course looking in the wrong place. Today thankfully a quick find was made after a rework of the calcs. I was blown away by so many names at the final location and was almost disappointed neither of my grandfathers were here even though they lived quite nearby to this spot. Of course a visit here also brought back a few memories of my childhood. TFTC!
Another glorious geocaching afternoon in Sydney, Had WP2 worked out before leaving work and headed straight to WP2. Did maths and worked out cache location and something didn't look right. Had CIH soon after. SL TFTC
Nice little multi, today I found it very quickly, after being here about two weeks ago without success. I must have been blind, it's quite easy! TFTC.
I did the legwork for this last year and came across my notes before heading down that way today. GZ was deserted. A slow walk around revealed the hide and with a bit of fingerwork, I had the cache. Good to complete this and it's prompted me to find out more about our STIFs. TFTC
A nice little multi that didn't take long to do.
Spent more time reading at GZ than I did walking the between the WP's and the side track.

Great little multi here CC, and a great little hiding spot. Saw an amazing rainbow at GZ. TFTC

Total fail...obviously we were woking out the calculations completely wrong! Not helped by the awesome park distracting the geo-kiddies....they have asked to return to that park to play (and that was the teenager!!)
Found by Mary & David at 1026. David grew up in north Croydon, so this area holds lots of memories. When he was 9, he lined up with hundreds of other school children here to see the Queen on her first visit to Australia. The park was renamed in her honour afterwards. Enjoyed this little multi around the park. Needed a natural 'tool' found nearby to extract the container. Our thanks again to Croydon crew.
#5 of 16 found while geocaching on Australia Day.
A great multi taking me around a place I didn't know about. Thanks. Nice puzzle, liked the container. I want to make an underwater cache with a container like this. After finding the cache we strolled into the park to have a nice picnic lunch. Definitely a place worth going to. TFTC

Another multi off the list! This was quick and an easy walk, till the GZ which too way too long!

For some reason I had shied away from this, thinking it would take too long. So after meeting CC at Marlene's Mischief and working out that I have only done one CC cache, I thought I should find some more.
Looking properly at the description I realised this was quite straightforward, and the entire family had visited WP2 on several ocassions in the past - this was known territory! So off I headed.
An interesting park to walk through, and a cache that fortunately, didn't require much probing - just looking.
Signed the dry log and replaced as found. Thanks CC.

Did the maths wrong first. Worked out my error and headed to gz. Great spot to pause and reflect. Great hiding spot and lots of cover to search. Thanks croydon crew. Cheers
Found on a quiet Sunday afternoon in what I had thought was an uninteresting urban park - how wrong I was. TFTC
Cache Hunt 659; GAFF3; Weather, Sunny/couldy; Helpers, None; Cache condition, Good; Find of the day, 1st; STATUS, Found; GPSr at GZ - 4m
So, back I go today armed with more information that it was NOT what I had thought it was. Pulled up near GZ and walked over to start my search. If it's not that, and with the hint, it could be one of those! So I walked around once outside and then inside, before I spied the camo. That's when the DOH and face palm slap happended. OUCH! Yup sure enough, there it was in a completly different spot in which I originally went to. Nice one Croydon crew, SL and replaced. TFTC.
