I was heading along Sunraysia drive today to collect some puzzle caches that I had solved and this cache was on route. I didnt note any planes landing or departing on my caching search today. At the GZ the cache container was quickly located - the outer container and contents are looking a little worse for wear - I didnt note any disposable camera in the container as mentioned in the description. The log remained in good enough condition to get my name on the log but did appear to have been damp at some point, currently the double container is doing a good job at preserving the log. An interesting read about the aviation scene in Ballarat. Thank you for doing the research and providing an interesting read on the cache page. Cheers for the cache

Ballarat Geo-Tour TripDay #2 of 4 (16/9)Todays main focus is finding the Geo-tour caches and any pre-2010 cache I came across along my travels. I also found a few ALs and a couple of others nearby to make up the numbers. I ended up with finding 20 out of 25 of the Geo-tour caches. I ended up with 50 finds for the whole day. My D/T average took a hit today but thats okay because Im here for the tour and to fill my Project GC grids. It was a great day out and I really enjoyed finding all the caches I found. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all COs of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. Big Grin TFTCs Big GrinUmm... having looked at the page now, this one is a pre-2010 cache because it was placed on the 31/12/2009. This is the last day it could be to be on my pre-2010 list. Anyway, it's another cache on the find list now and now off to the next one. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache Stasha. Great location, I didn’t see any air craft movements but did get to witness a great sunset. Also if it was possible to get to this cache via a route that had more prickles I would challenge anyone to find it.

It was fantastic to find a good sized cache after spending a lot of the morning looking for nanos in the bush. Thank you.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache stashaa.

After having been into Ballarat with ilook4geo for both caching and shopping activities today, we wanted to pick up a few more caches on our way back to our camping spot. So just a few were chosen and all were found successsfully. This one was not hard to find and the signing of two more names on the log was soon completed. Thank you to stashaa for this cache placement. The bonus was that there were actually a couple ofm planes that came in to land while we were there.

22-Feb-19
Some sort of event is on near GZ so heaps of planes were active today and heaps of people on the other side of the air way.

Today I was going from Ballarat to Adelaide, with 2 events being hosted I was restricted to the time I spent in Ballarat for the morning so I went around picking up multis and puzzles with some very enjoyable locations visited. I collected a few along the way to the 2nd event of the day in coonalpyn and then finished off with half a new series in Murray Bridge. A total of just over 50 finds for the day and 500km driving.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Enjoyed finding a cache that is two days short of 9 years old, and reading the cache notes. Wow, a disposable camera! This seems like a very "retro" idea now.
Thanks for bringing us here. We did see a plane starting its engine and rolling forward but not taking off while we were here.

I headed to GZ for the cache and a flock of surprised sheep from near the fence watching the helicopters . They certainly had lots of activity to watch this morning. I, in turn, had to move from place to place before I found the cache tucked away not far from where the sheep had been. Lovely big cache full of lots of stuff. I didn’t take or swap anything.

Find #9625

I had been looking forward to today and a trip to Ballarat for a while. It had been some time since I had visited, so today was the day. Up at 6.30am and was out the door by 6:45. I started the caching day at Mount Beckworth Scenic reserve and along with a couple of events, finished the day off with a couple of night caches. It was so much colder here, compared to the balmy 7 degrees at home when I left.

A quick driveby on the way through today.

Many thanks to stashaa for the cache. TNLN.

Heading home from a fun filled day in Grampians and even though the sun was already over the horizon and we were pretty beat from a huge day gathering smileys we had to make the detour for a few more as we passed by Ballarat.
This one was on the way our detour took us so we stopped for the quick grab. Not much to see here in the dark but thank you Stashaa for the cache and another smiley

Up in the Grampians for a memorable day of caching venturing high, under and through the Grampians to some amazing locations with Simsfamily and Neville devil.
On the return journey we took a detour to grab a few more caches before calling it a day.
Having spent the day sweating it was a bit of a shock to get out the car to a chilly wind so it was a quick dash to the cache then back to the car.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache Stashaa
