Yep I checked out the pole, and the swell geostone the cache was under. Cleaned the interior and replaced the log and bag. BYOP I left the exterior with it's distinctive camo, wouldn't want it too shiny. Cache placed back in hide LEVEL under geostone.
This one is good to go to fill a huge gap in Western caches. After you cross the Aparima river, the roads all lead right to this one. TFTC

The little woman choose the route we would take on a western cache hunt after business in Nightcaps. Unaware there was a dot here she said pull over and pushed me in the direction of the hint, I found the hide and I found the cache! SL the dry log and returned to hide. tftc
As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Found, same as previous logs - container full of water, impossible 2 sign log. Took pic of burnt remains where church used to be.
TLC required. The log book is soaked, unable to be written on. Bummer the beautiful old church is gone now.
Church burned down a few months back and cache is very wet, bit sad all round really. [:-(]
Nice cache, but all very wet. Dried it as best we could but it really needs a new logbook.
Cache was absolutely soaked! Fairly quick find, and I managed to park in the way to shield the find from the nearby farmer ploughing his paddock. Cheers Gav
The log was completely saturated, it wasn't sealed properly, so couldn't sign log. Unfortunately didn't have anything to replace it with me. Cheers.
8 of 17 on a day caching trip. An easy find and a very cool place to have a cache, unfortunatley couldn't sign log as it was saturated, We went and had a look around the church, amazing but sad to see it wasting away. TFTC

found easily but needs a new book and plastic bag as the log book is drenched.
Was doing a day trip and few caches around Southland. Arrived at GZ and spotted the interesting hiding spot while Mrs Yeetrees went and took a few photos, I went and grab the cache. Found the cache quickly without any issues signed and return and was heading back to the car when a muggle drove pass, lucky they didn't see what I was doing. Was a bit muddy at GZ as it was wet but we had our towel in the car so was able to clean up the mess. What a bit of a pity that these churches have not being really looked after, thanks for bringing us here to take in this spot, bit of a pity that the weather is a bit drizzly, TFTC TNLNSL (2977)
Found cache easily but cache was drenched. Dried out and put a replacement log in.
Located cache on our caching trip to the deep south today. As log was too wet to sign added our name to the previous cachers ticket. TFTC
Found 10/7/10.Cache very wet & logbook saturated and unserviceable. The old church looks quite large.Quietly rotting away.TFTC
The first of our finds on a day out exploring (and caching) around some parts of Southland that we haven't ventured into. Nice old building, would be awesome to see it restored to it's former beauty. TNLN, TFTC [^]
Quick easy find .......A real shame about the church, I bet it was beautiful in its day.

Cool old church! Would have loved to explore it, but I stayed in the 'car park'
We seem to be on the same circut as ADV was the day before. A quaint little church, was also naughty and jumped the fence for some quick photos but we didn't see any bees.
Unusual to see a bell tower on old churches like this, seems to complete the very quaint lines of the building. Could use a liitle paint of course but lovely to see.

Went down a lot of roads I never been down before. Signed the log and took the pic and then I could hear a lot of buzzing coming from the church. Curiousity got the best of me and I quickly jumped the fence and had a wee look and bees have taken over the church. I took a quick pic and was naughty for jumpin the fence. I don't like bees, I,m off.TFTC
FTF - Nice little drive around this area, hadn't seen this church before. There was a car just leaving as we pulled up and we thought they may have been geocachers but no they were just looking at the church. TFTC
