A quick solve, but I couldn't find this years ago when I was a newbie; even today I needed a hint from a previous finder to narrow the search down. Container is still there, a bit worse for wear but able to be signed. Thanks, Fore!

Greeting from Tasmania, accompanied with ALL7 out and about for some caches. Enjoyed day with them..Was visited in 2018 DNF, then today took little searched, FINALLY got it wow very good hide..Signed the log with good dry..TFTM Smile

Monday 22nd Jan *6:02pm*Couldnt find this one here today. Checked all over. Up down , in , out, no luck.Im sure I have the right coordinations, as pictures in other logs make sense. But not the right geocaching skills today. Thanks anyway, Fore!

16-Jan-24
We have been meaning to get this cache for ages and finally took the opportunity to get out around Yerrabi Pond today.Tricky find but the geokids worked it out well before I did. The log is very damp and barely signable, but we did manage to get our name on it in the end. Thanks for putting this cache together for us all to enjoy.

13-Dec-23
Gathered the required information, getting hungry in the process as theres some good eating there, then found a nearby seat to work out the coordinates for GZ, followed by a lovely walk and a quick find. Log was bone dry and rock hard, great well concealed container. Thanks Fore! the cache

31-Jul-23
Seems to be ok based on last logs in.

20-Mar-23
Found with isopeda on a trip to the Taylor area to collect some long solved puzzles, a bridge or two and the odd extra interesting trad. A revenge find here. Tftc

20-Mar-23
I collected the info a while ago.

Today, barb2e and I thought we'd give it a try. Barb2e couldn't find it previously and we now had some scant intelligence.

After quite some searching and sending unanswered messages to friends I spotted something in the logs that made me examine one thing closer and there it was.

We were relieved to get out of here.

Found what we think was the cashe location and the pictured log below but no log to be found Sad

23-Feb-23
Found a while ago and forgot to log. Whoosp!

Had a DNF here beforehand despite searching where the cache was (i think). Researched after it had been found and soon located the cache. Can't believe I didn't see that! To be fair it blends in mighty well.

Find#4073
Nice hiding place
Thanks for the cache

#3496 Finally, revenge. After my previous attempt here almost 10 months ago I placed it in a watch list and left it be. A couple of days ago pantspeople made contact to see if DT and I would like to meet up and give it another try.
Agreed to meet up this morning and resumed where I had left off. Couldn’t believe my luck when I caught a glimpse and then held the cache in hand. Very little left of the log and nothing signable but glad to turn that frown upside down.

Revisited with Turtle284 and DeadThief. Found it (or at least what’s left of it). A nice hide but in need of some maintenance. Photo of remnants of the log attached.

First find of the day. Posted waypoint was visited earlier in the year, with the final coords saved for another time.

Interesting to learn about the history of the building’s remains, and their meaning. No issues with the calculations for the final location.

In need of a new log. Container still all good though! Photo of log (or what’s left of it) attached.

20-Apr-22
After a half hour search it was time to move on. Thanks for the bit of history.

22-Nov-21
No luck for us today. After a fruitless search, read over some old logs and made a guess on how it could be hidden at GZ but still no luck for us

25-Sep-21
Dun dun dun... another one bites the dust!

14-Sep-21
Not able to sign this cache today as the log was super wet for rain and flooding.

I took a photo of the wet log and cache as proof of finding it. Photo send to CO.

Thanks for the cache and the adventure.

Please enjoy my selection of random photos for entrainment only.

Decided to grab this cache while doing a quick walk around Yerrabi.

Very nicely camouflaged and my muggle friends instincts led us to the cache.

Took the opportunity to get out on a ride with geokid. Solved, found and signed.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!

TFTC Smile A day for picking up a few solved puzzles as well as some local finds.

Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

01-Feb-21
This cache looked like turning into a nemesis for me. After a DNF last time I looked, I have no idea how I was that blind, a friend gave me a good idea of exactly where I had looked and not seen. So today needing a multi for my calendar I came back and walked straight to it.
However I pushed when I should have pulled and the log ended up in a place so that it was impossible for me to retrieve it.
I decided that as I still needed one more cache for the day I would walk around to a nearby trad before returning to my car to grab some paper to use as a replacement log. My sincerest apologies Fore! but at least there is something there for others to sign. TFTC Fore! SL

21-Jan-21
Out and about for a bit of caching this afternoon.

After being unsuccessful earlier (on another Fore! cache by chance), I decided to detour to here for my required multi.

Located the sneaky hide after a short search.

03-Jan-21
Good hiding spot.

02-Jan-21
Wow this was well hidden. Aramil and I were nearly going to give up (well, I was - Aramil has more patience). He found this one. Great hide. TFTC

02-Jan-21
On a trip out with runner5ive to Gungahlin for somewhere different to go.

Interesting spot to grab the coordinates. Didn’t know this was here.

After a long search and almost giving up I thought I may double check a spot and it was there!! Looks like a cool custom case.

TFTC.

A great piece of history here that so many mustn't know about. Thanks to geocaching I am
not one of them now. After arriving at GZ, I searched high and low and round and round without success. And I needed a multi for my calendar today so will have to go elsewhere.

13-Dec-20
Out for a walk with [@trodectus](http://coord.info/PR8JTE0), after having got the info yesterday, we decided to have a go at this one as part of our walk around the lake. Arrived GZ and quickly had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC

13-Dec-20
Solved and found with [@coybear2000](http://coord.info/PR9547H). Yesterday we went past the historic site and took note of the plaque, but we didn't attempt the find. We worked out the co-ords for GZ and today we headed back for an exercise walk and to try for the find. We parked and headed around the lake. We saw a pair of superb parrots as well as other birds. Once at GZ C had CIH before my unit had even settled on where to look. There was a flock of sulphur crested cockatoos and galahs watching us from the casuarinas. Log signed and all replaced and we continued around the lake. We walked 3.2km. TFTC.

18-Sep-20
Dnf checked waypoints looks like I had right?! But no luck today.

22-Apr-20
Finally! At long last, after two visits we found it. Coordinates were perfect. A well hidden cache. Thanks!

22-Apr-20
Took a while to find, the container was nothing like I have ever seen. It had been secretly placed in a very clever way. TFTC

31-Mar-20
In need of some exercise and space after all fay at home.

What a cool cache. Nice featuring an historical site which is easily overlooked. And a very cool final. With the new container (which I had never seen beforehand. This made for a real challenge as I was searching a while till I found it.
So everything about this cache says: thank you for a great cach and maintaining it a FAVpoint for sure.
Thank you Fore! for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I found myself in the area by mistake and decided to find this cache so that the trip was not wasted. It is safe to say that a lot of people must walk by this piece of history without knowing it. The calculations were straight forward but finding the container took longer than expected. I’ve never seen that type of container before. TFTH

24-Dec-19
Fore!’s geocaching secretary reporting for duty: yep, cache gone...now replaced with a different container...good to go...

28-Jul-19
Found tonight after the event with Gliss Nibletricecakes and Joolay. Cool multi.
Cache in good condition. TFTC

28-Jul-19
I found the answers to this when taking the geodog for a walk around the lake about 4 months ago. After tonight's Gungahlin Lakes event, a group of us (Joolay, Kittykatch, Nibbletricecakes & I) went for a short drive. The co-ords were spot on and the cache was soon found on the ground in the open. The magnets don't seem very strong. I returned it to what seemed to be the logical spot. TFTC Fore!

03-Jul-19
Tftc. Took a photo of the sign and sent it to Mrs jaybeem to work out while I was walking from Take a Walk to Pelican Cove. She did the calcs so I walked around to collect this on my return. Great cache.

12-Jan-19
Nice and easy multi, arrived at a quiet water surroundings. TFTC

26-Nov-18
I was in the area tonight attempting an FTF (just missed it) so I decided to pop past and find this one. The dark and the long grass made it harder to find the plaque but the missing information was soon collected. I sat down to figure out the final coords with my notepad and pen. I was immediately swamped by bugs attracted by my torchlight. Argh!

After a hasty solve, I walked over to gz. After a brief search the cache was found. Now, it’s never a good sign when you grab the cache and water starts pouring out of it. So it was very surprising to find a dry log inside. Incredible!

14-Nov-18
Found it together with Sisquo. Thanks for showing that interesting site.

28-Oct-18
Heading into Canberra again today to pick up a random selection of caches and stopped here to make a quick find after getting the new numbers worked out. The new co-ords for GZ were good and the container was soon located and signing duties were done.
It sure is interesting what some people used to eat!
Many thanks to Fore! for showing us this piece of history.

28-Oct-18
Did this multi with goingplaces2. Noted that the family diet was quite interesting. TFTC.

Bit of a drive around Belconnen, Parkwood Road, Church Lane and then Gunghalin for a few of the newer caches and a couple of not so new. My third attempt at this one !! I really suck at arithmetic, however pretty confident to-day with the look of my latest calculations. Spent 20 minutes searching a willow tree 10 metres from where gz indicated, which was in the lake, before deciding to check I had the correct numbers punched in my gps. No I did not, I should be 50 metres away, once at correct gz, a quick find. TFTC.

I have the world’s best geocaching secretary...log replaced...good to go!

Dinner’s ready!

16-May-18
Was in the hood. Coordinates easy to find, had to jump the fence as the grass has continued to grow. Disturbed the noisy neighbourhood dogs, guess you need them living as close to a busy footpath. The smell of steak for dinner was noticeable. A quick stroll in the dropping temperature with an equally quick find. Log too wet to sign, photo attached. TNLNSL TFTC

Would have logged NM when I got home i.e. just now, but have been beaten to it Smile

Being a public holiday, today I went out to do two of my favorite outdoor activities, catching Pokemon and geocaching. Found this one while walking aroind Yerbbi pond with Eldritch97... I've walked past this site so many times but had no idea of its historic past until today. Tftc.

29-Mar-18
So, after the scare of seeing half of the UGC caches disabled, I rushed out to sign as many as possible to day. Up until now I had only been going to sign them when I had already qualified, but I am so close to qualification on so many that I felt it prudent to do as many as possible. The series is wonderful and I would be very sad if it was ever archived.

I found most of the ones I was looking for, but still DNF'd several. Not sure what was going on, either not looking hard enough or not looking in the right places.

This cache was one of the ones 'in between' UGC caches. I freely admit as a soutsider I dont venture up this way very often so it makes sense to pick all caches up in an area once you are there.

GZ for this one was a little pongy, and the hide was devilishly placed. I circled around the whole area a few times before finally deciding to look right at the hide. As other have noted, the coords are very good!

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache

26-Jan-18
The grass at the starting coordinates is starting to cover the plaque. Makes things a bit difficult to uncover.

26-Jan-18
I was sure I had found this one previously, but obviously not, because it was still showing up on my unfounded list. Anyway, I was doing a lap of the pond after the Aust Day event (in the heat of the day) so was looking for shady spots along the way. TFTC- and the respite in the shade!

04-Jan-18
Came to Gungahlin on this reasonably hot day on a mission - a mission to go on a drive in my air conditioned car and to find a major portion of the UGC caches that I was applicable for! We attempted this multi a few years ago without success, so today I went back to WP1, collected the information and returned to a familar GZ area. There was a massive, loud and growling dog at WP1 barking literally the entire time I was there (which encouraged another dog nearby to begin yapping), so future finders should be mindful to grab the information and then scram! The history that can be found here is incredbily interesting though - not many passing muggles would even see this plaque! Once I got to the area around GZ, I began looking in the familar areas that I looked before, but then I decided to follow my GPS a little more closely - and sure enough, the cache was immediately found! You see, without spoilers, the type of area that the cache was hidden in is right next to the area where I was looking before, with a completely different aesthetic - it sounds weird but make sure to follow the GPS, otherwise you'll look in the completely wrong area! Nice one to finally tick off! TFTC Fore!!

28-Dec-17
This was our first multi-cache and we were paranoid we got the coordinates wrong Razz a very fun find nonetheless!

24-Dec-17
I have been running a bit of a prank with my teenage daughter, telling her I haven't been able to find the Christmas present she wants. It's true that I had to go to quite a few stores in different town centres to find it, but she doesn't know that I did find it. To maintain the prank, I told her this afternoon that I was going to have one last minute attempt at yet another mall to try and find it (of course I came back empty handed). This meant that I had to disappear for a couple of hours - a perfect excuse to get some more local multis!

Interesting to have this history just there, virtually in someone's backyard. It would be nice to see the government maintain the site - even the sign was a bit hard to see. A straightforward trip to GZ and then the search. I looked for the wrong type of hide for a while. I read past logs and they gave me a different idea. It was a pretty quick find after that, but this is a clever and well-hidden cache and it could easily have taken longer. TFTC Smile

Log replaced thanks to my overworked geocaching secretary...please use Needs Maintenance logs to ensure maintenance like this is done in a timely manner...cache on!

15-Dec-17
I do love stumbling across these hidden locations of history. Unfortunately the area is a bit unloved but can still see how the foundations are marked out. Information easily collected then a short walk to GZ. Cache spotted easily but with a lady down a bit further stripping bark off the trees (?) was careful to collect and sign out of sight. Returning took a very long time with her then spotting me and walking over to have a chat, well in the end we had a VERY long chat before I could return the cache unseen and leave! Thanks for the cache, signed the log book but not the other log, book was wet but signed ok. Thanks for the cache Fore!

13-Aug-17
Solved this the other day was in the area and decided to claim. Shame it wasn't week of multi extra pats. Owner please not log book wet - need a plastic bag which I didn't have on me Sad

06-Aug-17
ACTchil and I took the geohounds Banjo and Koda out for a wakj and grabbing multi caches to earn our next piece of Mary Hyde's treasure map and visit the Hall markets while we are here. We got all the clues and put together the final coordinates and off on a little walk to gz, we looked for a while and thought we were out and then I had silver thought and yep smile on my face when I found the container, old log damp and new book a little damp but signed and put back, might need a tighter container. tftc Fore!

18-May-17
Had checked this one out on the internet and there is so much interesting history to this site. I was a little disappointed by the actual overgrown and unkept site. Coords were easy to get however and it was an easy walk to GZ with an easy find. TFTC Fore!!!!

Monday 20 March 2017 - a muggy overcast Spring afternoon after reaching 30 degrees before the welcome thunderstorm came through around 4.30pm. A short walk around the park 2 pick up a trad and a multi with Nonna being walked close by. Then drove around to find another 3 trads in quick succession to find a total of 5 caches today to keep my daily stats going. Thx MuggleHusband. TFTC Fore!

14-Aug-16
4:15pm 14/8 - this is one of the closest to our new home, so worth a look, particularly as it filled the criteria for this weeks Mission. Made my way to GZ no problem, just had to work out where to look first. Looked through the logs for any hints, found a comment that made me decide to focus on a certain area. While standing in thinking mode, my eyes crossed the hiding place.

TFTC Fore! and allrounder.

My geocaching secretary, allrounder, has replaced the cache - the log is now in its own container within the cache...hopefully the weather won't affect this one as much...cache on!

17-Jul-16
After over 6 hours of caching/hiking yesterday, we felt like something a little more sedate today - so went for a 5+ hour bike ride/run with The Woofer instead! We collected 31 caches (leaving something behind in almost every single one) and ran/rode just over 24km. We rode through Amaroo, Forde and Gungahlin, around Yerrabi Pond - and on two occasions dipping ourselves IN the pond! Exhausted and completely covered in duck poo, we finished the day with fish and chips by the lake in Yarralumla. And despite being confused for Poke-hunters more than once, it was great day!

We really enjoyed this little multi! Like a lot of cache locations, we never would have come up here if it wasn’t for this one, and although there’s not much to see at the first WP anymore, it was really interesting reading about the history of the place. And without giving anything away, we’re pretty sure we would have starved if we were faced with having to eat some of these things!

GZ was a surprisingly quick find, despite our GPS doing a bit of a dance. The log was drenched, so we signed a bit of paper we had with us. TFTC Fore!

#1133. 129 days in a row.

I stopped by this area between the training I was doing this week and heading back into town to watch a movie. I got to WP1 easily and calculated the GZ coordinates, then spent a little while searching around before I got my hands on the cache.

The cache container doesn't seem to be watertight, so the log sheet had got a bit wet and tore slightly as I was extracting it.

22-Jan-16
Finally I found another nemesis cache from Fore! Smile

I originally looked for this cache at the end of 2014 and had no luck, thinking it was missing since there were numerous DNF's.

Came back not long ago with my dad but only had limited time so didn't find it again.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Sol de lune for giving me a huge pointer as to where the cache is Smile I really appreciate that! It's certainly helped as this cache has been bugging me for a long time.

Thanks Fore! a clever little hide!

1/26 Today

Arrived at GZ and knew in advance I'd be in for some trouble!

Hunted around, had a hint beforehand, but that didn't really help. I saw a vauge comment about being washed away, so I had a look at some places that might not stick so well.

Aaand I found it. TFTC!

I thought I submitted a DNF for this over a year ago but it doesn't seem to be there.

Came back today and I still couldnt locate it, swear I have cache blindness here Sad
Arghhh a nemesis cache for sure, thanks anyway

(hope I have the right GZ? Razz)

30-Dec-15
Found GZ during caching day trip with Sol de lune.

This is my second multicache ever. Once we deciphered the puzzle it was a matter to finding the cache on the final co-ordinates. This was actually quite difficult because of the trees nearby caused our GPS to bounce around. Sol had to phone a friend and even then we almost gave up!

This is a very tricky find.

For those helping new cachers - this cache doesn't look the same from when it was first released.

Finally, TikvaNZ and I were both in the ACT at the same time, so headed out to get our post work cache(s). 4 multis attempted, 3 signed.

Fourth attempt and last find of the evening. A quick calculation and find at GZ. Nicely camoed! The log was a bit wet, but it should hold up for a bit longer.

Thanks for the feasting ideas!
