Was meant to be a quick park and grab after work to keep the streak going; that’ll teach me to read the terrain ratings properly! Another time! ️
In the area today with SueDan83 for our weekly Wednesday caching expedition. The Sutherland Shire is an area I really haven't spent a lot of time exploring up until now, so it has been great to discover lots of lovely new locations on our weekly trips.
Ha! Yes this was a bit of a challenge to get down to, especially for my short little legs lol. Got there in the end though, and if my memory serves me correctly we found a better route out. Typical! TFTC!
A nice hiding spot. TFTC Team Webguy
It's a big day today and a big day deserves a special activity to make sure it is a day to remember.
The problem at present is that we are under LGA COVID lockdown. We are so lucky that there are still plenty of caches in the Shire that we haven't attempted.
We could have selected a day long bushwalk into Heathcote National Park but given the BOM's EWN's warning that a storm was going to hit mid afternoon, we looked around and selected 2 caches at Barden Ridge by Rainbow Spirit and Team Webguy instead. They are almost drive to but have Terrain ratings that should be a bit special.
This was the second one and I still can't recall why I haven't made the trip over to get this given I did #4 (now archived) so early in my caching life.
Here today and as usual, from our parking location, I follow the GPS in the most direct way. Nana is beside me and I hear Oh................ where are you taking us, there must be another way. A bit further on and I listen to Nana and find another way to GZ.
Looking up from our location, Nana felt it would be in that cave. I said well yes of course it will be, after all it's a Team Webguy cache and when seeing photos of his caching exploits, the only thing you ever see is his feet on the outside of a cave.
We both moved up to the level where 2 people can get to and I made the final exploration. A bit dark in there and I asked for a torch. Well Nana had to almost climb over the top of me to get it into my hand and some people have said the cave was to small for them! The extra light helped and there were tools in there that I could use to recover the container. I passed it back to Nana and she completed the logging with our joint stamp before returning it to me. Not sure if I pushed it back as far as I found it but gave it a good go.
Recorded the special information and have no idea if I got any information from #4.
Love caving, adding a favourite and visited trackables.

A beautiful summers day (i.e. not too hot and just enough drizzle to keep you cool while scrambling over rocks)
I think i checked out every decoy location in the area before finally finding the correct spot.
After signing the log and taking a photo of the clue as evidence of alien activity i just sat under cover for a while and listened to the bird chorus.
Thanks.

8th find and a deceptively straightforward one ... in other words, far from it!
After exploring the 'decoy hide', re-re-re-read previous logs and deduced that, yep, that was a decoy location. But it also help narrow down to places to search and FINALLY, the right location. Having encountered a red-belly black earlier in the same terrain, was a bit spooked but ... in for a penny and all that ... so a bit more of getting down-and-dirty and CIH!!!
I'm now also intrigued and will track down the rest of these Aliens.
TFTC, and the adventure Team Webguy ... please accept another FP.
It was only 11km to here from #4, but my flying saucer is in for repair so I had to go the long way via road. Managed to pick up a solved puzzle along the way without losing too much time. I'm so close to these aliens I can almost smell them.
It was only a short scramble to the nest from where I parked. Quickly slipped in without knocking and collected more evidence just around the corner. This included a nice TB connected to a '67 Pontiac Firebird. If only I'd had access to that earlier I would have gotten here much more quickly.

Sat on the shelf and took in the view. Signed the log, posted this log then returned it. But much further in than I found it. Just as the CO requested! Good luck to the next seeker. You will get a bit dirty, but it's dry in there.
A fantastic hide in a fantastic bush setting. No sign of the trackable that was placed here in 2012! Dropped in a new TB and made some swaps. TFTC. #658
We were on this area today to find a few more caches for the Sutherland Shire challenge, and saw this one pop up on the GPS screen. Perfect - a suburb I didn't have yet, and another cache in my very slow quest to find the alien base.
We parked incredibly close, and soon made our way down through the rocks. It was incredibly slippery today, and I managed to lose my footing at one point (damage partly to my pride, with a graze to a knuckle (ready to leave DNA evidence on the log ).
I tried a few spots with no luck, then saw a spot that looked very promising. But from where I was, I couldn't get directly there. I had to go back up a little, work my way around & get down on the other side. Once I was at the spot, I knew it had to be the hide, but getting in presented a small problem. I wasn't quite tall enough to make it directly, so I had to do a few interesting manoeuvres. Bikerbuddy was watching me from below, keeping a close eye on what I was up to. Not sure if that was concern for my safety, or just making sure he knew where to retrieve the car keys!
After I'd manoeuvred myself in as far as was comfortable, I could just reach the cache at full stretch. Glad someone taller hadn't put it back further!
A great cache, thanks
PS: I'd hoped to get the other alien cache down here, but had to leave it to our next trip down here.
As I happened to be in the area today to pick up some furniture that the geowife bought online, I had a look on the GPS for interesting caches, and as soon as I saw this one...I made a bee-line for it. Parked nice a close, and soon found myself down at GZ with plenty of options around to hide a cache. As I got all the way down, I noticed a fantastic spot...and thought 'That's got Webguy written all over it'. Sure enough, after getting down and dirty, the cache was in hand. Collected the information needed and then it was back to the car to get out of the heat.
Gratias Team Webguy.
Well thought out and placed cache in great condition, with all clues intact. Hope to one day get out and do the others in this series. a favourite point from me. TFTC took a travel bug and placed one of my own

Having already found one cache in the series today was the day to drive out to woronora and find this one.
We approached from the wrong angle at first but then I saw something and I new it was GZ. Sent geodad in as he loves a bit of cave action.
Thanks for the cache. How you find these spots I really don't know!

So, off to Woronora for some kayaking. Got here early, which gave me some time to do some extra difficult caches. And I figured that this one would be more difficult than its rating indicated, after hitting a few Bad Man caches recently. Reading the description right through gave an interesting story, plus some good intelligence on where to look. Found it in the second place I investigated.
6 abductions to go

1st day of my holidays and what a day to cache after all the bad weather.
No joy today
As for the location, I don't know how you find these spots but once again, another great one but would say that it was one of the easier alien finds I've made in the series so far.
Thanks Webby. Looking forward to number 6 when I get up that way!
Now which "all the way back" nook is it. I found at least 5 others before I got the right one, destroying GIANT orb spider homes along the way.
Left by way of the much easier access to this site.
5/7 for this series. 1 more until I can find the new base.
Another cache completed in this series.
Cheers for the hide.
I have to say that this logging would never have happened without the enthusiasm and extreme efforts of rogerw3!
Truly a worthy and challenging Webbie cache . . . and, happily, no geocachers were killed or injured during the making of the log. Thank goodness.
TNLNSL.
Many thanks, as always, to Team Webguy!
Thanks for the cache and the location.
We parked a little to far away but walked to GZ after climbing around the rocks up and down, looking under we came across it. Thanks
I did step on some leaves that were covering hole between rocks, and went right up to the groin. A bit of a surprise, and it took a bit to extricate myself. So, cacher BEWARE.
Probably did see were the cache lives, and should have brought my abseiling glove with me.
TFTC experience, I may be back.
After my Alfyboy Adventure up the road, I thought I'd have a tough time here as well. I pulled up and walked down towards GZ. As I came around, I spied a place dark and dreery and went to check it out. No mushrooms, but a cache was found. WHAT, so easy, no I must be dreaming! I SL, Took the TB to move and replace back even further in. Now reading the description, it was the right thing to do...hehe Thanx for another in the series TW, where will the next one take m? TFTC.
Once back at the W R E C K start and waiting for a few paddlers to come in we ducked off to quickly complete the nearby Muddy's First cache where we collected a Travel Bug. We also took the opportunity to find talk to a few others for other good near by cache suggestions.
After leaving the event we got a nearby park to grab Woronora River Bridge. Certainly great views and after working out the camera locations we spotted the cache in between muggle breaks. After conquering our fears we had the cache in hand and completed the signing duties before re hiding.
Toxic Butt Syndrome was recommended to us at the event. We had a little trouble getting a start point but eventually found the right side street but missed going in on the most direct route at the end of the street which we found on the way out. It was a bit of a climb to GZ but worth the views. At our GZ we could not locate the cache but knew it had to be nearby some where so we expanded the search. We had the right idea on the hide and after traversing north with a few tricky turns and manoeuvres and found the cache and picked up a travel bug after signing the log. We noted down the clue for its sister mystery but did not think we could solve it on the spot so returned the cache to its hide and moved on.
Alien Abduction #5 The Point of Contact was next. We read we would get dirty but after some of the mud at the event we where dressed for this. Just as we where about to hop out of the car an other car pulled up with a kayak on top so we knew it was a cache mobile. We teamed up made the short distance down to GZ. The cache was in the right spot and nice and dry. With the signing complete we grabbed the code clues (looks like another series we will have to complete!) And made our way back up top. J + J.au were kind enough to give us some pointers to the other nearby cache we had ear marked which was next.
Armed with a few pointers we made the short distance into Woronora Wonder and saw the great view and where we had been before for Up The Creek. We carefully got to the right level and traversed Bella style to spot the cache. You certainly need to watch your footing and hand holds hear. We completed the signing duties and then began the trip home north.
We spotted a little run of caches on the way back which was The Garden of Eden, Henry Lawson Drive View, Along the Boardwalk and Numbers 1 and 2 which we all found and signed. The ones with nano's talking a little longer to grab.
again easy to jump down the rocks like a yellow footed.
Took me a few moments longer than the just done Woronora Wonder cache in the vicinity - maybe 10 mins to spot it. Hmm, how to reach it? Well, The Arkaroo has long arms - but not long enough - even from the other end. Not too difficult to find a tool - actually another cacher must have left it here, and there it was! Again, relaxing on a rock platform and enjoying the bush land - what can be better?
Just recovering from a long week of neutron beam time at the OPAL reactor in Lucas Heights. A collaboration with the Deakin University in Geelong - we looked to cooking steel to make it better and harder. Second cache today, still a bit tires - have two more in mind down at the river. That hill will wake me up, hopefully.
Marked the infos found for this #5 in the series ... not knowing yet where the others are....
oh yes: came here to get dirty - however managed to remain civilized although everything was still a bit humid and slippery from the past heavy rain.
The Arkaroo - who loves the mountains and the waters.
Travel Bugs visiting:
* Blue Desert Drive (TB3ZQ7E)
* Arkaroo's Treasure (TB38AN6)
Luckily this one did not involve a long walk but did have a tricky retrieval

So I have the clues for the first five caches in the series, now. Not sure when I'll be able to get to #6 - it's a distance off - but with only one to go before the mystery cache, I'll have to find time to make the effort. Thanks Webguy.
I had a inkling from the cache notes that this was just around a corner but 'how in hell was I going to reach that!'
With the aid of a tool I managed to grab it. While signing the log Skydog flicked in a TB. I should have been quicker and put the cache back before the his deft flick so he would get dirty too.
I have since been informed this was a typical Webguy cache. Oh Oh!
Finished up a good days caching. Thanks Webguy.
(and grabbed a TB)
Lucky I've lost a few kilos lately otherwise I might really have struggled!
Tftc
Thanks heaps for the cache.
TFTC Wilbert67
Not too hard a challenge- enjoyed the scrambling and the cache wasn't too tricky.
It is good to find something though with a bit more of a challenge than most caches .
Grabbed the info needed for the series and left a couple of coins. TFTC!
I was heading up to Sydney for work today and thought I'd grab a few caches along the way and this was my first for the day. My problem was, it was 6am and I had no torch. The best I could muster was the light off the face of the phone, which under the circumstances proved to be successful.
In a typical Webby hide I found the cache in the 3rd place I looked.
As always a good hide. TNLN Thanks
I came across some wreckage this ship was a bit smaller then the last one searched maybe a Scott ship.
Upon crawling in the access way the light amplification tool showed me what I was looking for same cannot be
said about the spectrum analyzer forget to recharge its batteries the night before. The evidence of the little greys
ever being there had to be hand drawn, that will give the boys in the lab a good laugh. One word of warning through
my bare stomach came into contact with the ground and now I have red welts there..how strange...TFTC..Webby...
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache Webguy!
best wishes,
Wal
Left TB-Catch Me If You Can – It leads to another cache which is NOT part of the Alien Abduction Series.
Anyway it turned up quickly once you have had experience with the webbed mind.
Nice one mate. Good to do one of yours again. Took photo, left memories.
Anyway, we were heading out this morning to do a few caches (this one to start with) and gave Usat31 a quick call first to see what they were up to. Sadly, Mr Us had been alienated from his family and was all lonely out on his own, but coincidentally also about to go for this cache. Being the nice kind of alien he is, he waited a little while for us to turn up so we could claim a joint ftf victory (although it was Mr Us who found it). Admittedly, we were very tempted to head off to try for the lot in the series today but we just didn't have the time today.
This was a good hide and we're looking forward to the others.
TNLN, thanks,
The Hancock Clan
B.T.W. Took the coin
However, a quick find on the closest to home cache was always on the cards.
Mr Us headed out by himself this morning & as he neared the Point of Contact, another new Alien to Australia - The Hancock Clan - contacted him & asked what he was up to! How weird was that?
Anyway, they were heading this way too, so Mr Us waited for them so we could hopefully claim a joint FTF. You have to be friendly to these Aliens you know!
After a brief search, the cache was located, and was being protected well by a large family of ants. Maybe the Green Aliens (not The Hancocks) disturbed them when they made contact here, as they weren't the friendliest of ants either.
Cache opened and Woohoo!!!! A joint *FTF* with The Hancock Clan.
We signed the log & extracted all of the required info from the cache for the final puzzle to be completed. The other caches will have to wait for Us to do that, but hopefully we will get through this series.
Thanks for a good cache Webguy - I hope everyone continues to replace the cache as intended.
Nook nothing, Dropped off a Coin.
Cheers.
