Walked around everywhere me and my boys and DNF been wanting to do for ages , better luck next time
We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.
We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.
Day 1
We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.
Day 2
We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.
Day 3
We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.
Day 4
We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.
We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.
Thanks

We'd just completed the 4 day paddle called WOMDOMNOM, which started at Wellington and ended in Narramine, and the last few days we'd camped at Dunns Swamp.
Feeling out of sorts, this little stop cheered me up quite a bit

Now that's some mighty clear water. It's funny how our brains automatically think 'reflection', and then you realise it's not! Enjoyed this easy walk to GZ, although it's a bit swampy as we closed in - thanks to someone who has placed a plank of wood nearby which we did use to hop across said swampy area, to view the well closely and obtain the cache. The cache itself kept us guessing for a bit (that 1.5 terrain screwed with us) but eventually geoboyfriend exclaimed he had it - yay. Signing duties completed then some more time admiring the well before continuing our drive back to Sydney. Thanks for bringing us here, what a great location, and so glad to see this piece of history has been maintained and retained.
Very interesting spot indeed and well worth the stop. How clear is that water! TFTC
We found this one at a very interesting place. We had passed the Wishing Well sign before but had never stopped there. It was a beautiful little well with absolutely crystal clear water. We are giving it a fav point for bringing us to this historic place. TFTC.
An awesome little bit of history.. nice hide.. destroyed a nice pair of shoes. A tip for all... go from the plaque there is no "drier" bit to head from
what a lovely area, bit wet under feet. soon duties done and placed cache back.TFTC
Out on a Trig day with pjmpjm, this cache was quite a surprise what a great location. Thank you for showing it to us, loved it.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
A fun find with rogerw3!
Loved the history. We made this one harder than it needed to be, missing the little path and so I plunged slightly into the mud!
Remember to park in the spot where the sign indicates . . .
All in good order . . . TNLNSL . . . and thanks to Buggerme.
A favourite point because of the history and nifty old construction . . .

I've driven past this stop 100 or more times. Thank you for giving me a reason to stop
A quick and easy find this morning, tad cold, the car was saying -1 not long after we left Lithgow. Quite deep and plenty of coins in there.
Found at 12:47. Awesome piece of history, we missed it on the way to Mudge on Thursday but grabbed it in on the way back. Thanks buggerme for the cache.
Had a find on this today. Team Buggerme conducted a welfare check last weekend on a number of our caches. All is good and in place. Definitely in a Systema container with intact bag and logbook. Don't know what people are finding.

Heading south towards Lithgow today, I was on the good side of the road to find the parking bay
A short stroll down below the modern day highway, I found the olde road
It got a bit wet and soggy below foot as I neared GZ, but I avoided the peat bog
The well was full of crystal clear water !!
And a few dollars of change too !!
Nearby I found the cache !!
My wish had come true [^]

Found on journey away from the Mega. Today we are travelling from Gulgong to Lithgow or perhaps from the tropics to the arctic. Mostly about travelling but we will collect a couple of caches along the way.
We were in two minds about going for this one but the access was easy so we pulled in. I had been travelling in Crocs due to an unpleasant and highly contagious podiatry condition and when I saw the slope I said to myself "you couldn't take five minutes to change into some hiking shoes before you left the car!" Mr Morris' response was that those were indeed specialist hiking crocs. Anyway down we went. It all looked so lovely and innocent that I headed across to the well only to sink up to my knees in wet earthy peat, much to the entertainment of all the other tourists. This gave Mr Morris a chance to locate and sign the container while all hands were occupied with rescuing me from the quagmire. Eventually I was salvaged but the hiking crocs suffered many indignities and shall never been the same again. Better that than my good boots though.

The well was a nice little surprise, but it would be nice to know where the cache container has gone & why only the ziplock bag & log remain here now.
Thanks

We pulled over for this one on the way home. At first I searched too high and then realised we had to go down further. Part of the track gave way under my foot as we went down, so I ended up on my bum. Then I stood in soggy ground and got my boot wet when we got down.
Bugger me!
We found the well, which was a fascinating reminder of another era.
Soon, Toriaz found what was left of the cache near the well. It is only in a bag, so it might need maintenance soon. Thanks

Satellite had me everywhere before I found the oddest cache. A baggy with scraps of paper people have been signing next to the well. Oh well, back in the car. Great spot for a cache. TFTH
This was in a strange little place with history. After the storms yesterday the whole area in front of the well was swampy, and it was hard to find a route to GZ without sinking up to the ankles in mud. The GPS at least knew what it was doing and pointed me right to the cache, which was surprisingly dry considering its location. Thanks to buggerme (unfortunate name!) for a good hide in an interesting place
On a long drive to Queensland, Toowoomba. Very high temps in the 30s needs some tlc TFTC
Thanks for this one, Buggerme!! Very interesting spot.
I'm not claiming this one - there's a ziploc bag with several log entries written on an old Maccas receipt. (including mine, if you decide I can log it). There's no sign of a cache container that I can see, and I had a good look down the bottom, except in the trees on the LHS of the well, where it is currently quick mud, due to recent rain. I had a poke around the top as well, but not much of one as I reckoned you'd want people to go to the bottom. I also looked carefully around the plaque and the track.

You would not know what was here as other times we have just passed by. Thanks for the incentive to stop and survey the history of the location.
TFTC SLTNLN, lost my thong at one point, I recommend wearing enclosed shoes. Beautiful spot. Found with evil_gopher.
TFTC Buggerme. A great spot to stop and have a look around. Even the rain didn't deter us.
This cache epitomises one of the really great things about geocaching, in that we never would have known about this lovely little spot and its interesting history if not for our search. This was our last cache for the day and well worth another favourite point. Thanks again buggerme.
On a return from a Dunns Swamp camp out and on the tail of All Strung Out seeking a filler number for the day. The few occasions passing by this it has either been dark or the point has been by in a flash.
Out of the GeoReindeer and onto the pleasant walking track to the 'well', well the cache is not that well, and then to a Garmin indicated soggy foot-wetting step ... mirth from all ... hmmm.
A little further on the ASO 'leader' found the beautifully sandstone structured well, with the ASO 'followerer' unwarned having that sinking feeling within the grip of a quagmire. Much more mirth, and a tug of war extrication ensured followed by a somewhat disconcerting shoe washed tadpole.
With all that entertainment finding the cache did seem anti-climatic
Thanks buggerme for the cache and showing the historic location.

Have driven by this cache a couple of times in the last few months, had meant to stop but it always seems to come up to quick or we have someone driving too close behind, finally made the stop with whitemushroom in tow, and wandered down along the easy grade, spotted a 'false well' which contained a number of coins (I guess some people miss the real one), proceeded on after spotting 'something', with Mrs ASO just behind we had a big 'LOL' as Mrs ASO got bogged 'bout 1 foot deep.
Once un -bogged she washed her shoes out in the real well, only to find it (and her shoe afterwards) full of tadpoles. ........bringing on another 'LOL'. A bit of re-composure and the seek for the actual cache was on, with whitemushroom coming up with the goods.
Thanks for the cache buggerme! was a fun little find with history.

We received a message from chippyroo to see if we wanted to travel for the day and grab caches somewhere we haven't been before, Today we found many caches and travel over 800kms for the day to do so. TFTC.
This is a great spot you wouldnt normally go to. We managed to find the cache after reading the plaque nearby.

Again no service so went in blind. Nearly gave up when bingo, I found it. What a tricky spot but what fabulous location. Loved the black cockatoos. Left a frog from The Heights cache, a lonely cache with only 4 visitors. Took a card. TFTC
When I had service, I saw the confusion about this geocaches actual location. It is not the zip-lock bag that had someone's wish written out on a piece of paper, to the right of the well in a really obvious spot. It is somewhere else in this area in a sistema container....some people who think they have found it may need to go back and take another look....

No can do without a GPS Little legs with us so weren't game enough to go bush too much in hope of stumbling across it. Did manage to get a wet foot having a bit of a poke around the place Maybe we'll be back in these parts one day and can make a day of A-z
Claiming a find in the most obvious spot. However if buggerme can confirm a real cache container still exists and not replaced with a dodgy zip lock bag with a coles express log. Happy to remove the find.
This was an extremely pleasant stop on the way home.
Obviously went the hard way in and ended up in a nice cool spot where the cache was found.
We went to the well but due to the lack of time it prevented a thorough look around. Definitely going to be a proper stop next time we are in the area

what a great spot for a cache. as always when there is an easy way down and a hard way I choose the wrong one first off only to discover the easy way on the return journey to the car. the water was so clear and unexpected too as I hadn't read the whole cache notes before finding the cache.

We made a wish and it was granted. Cache in hand and a couple of slips up the slope (as it was slippery) later we add another cache to our list of finds.
Well we bagged this one- not too complicated- well, not as complicated as slipping n sliding our way back to the car. I also claimed a FTF (first to fall) at this GZ getting back to the car... :-0 TFTC and for giving the guys something to laugh at...

Found with geopartner after a short search. He had to rescue me out of the bog at one point.... TNLN Beautiful area. TFTC
Tftc found with geopartner nice easy find. Had to rescue her from mud hole. Approach with care
It's a long climb up here when you're looking for a large pull off area and yep there is one but with slalom like curve signs to dodge. Dodged in and we walked to the spot, the water sure is clear and cold. Found a little love token with money in it, before I made the real find. Completed the slalom challenge to escape the parking spot and on our way.
This was the most amazing find of the day. Wow,wow, wow. I certainly didn't expect what I found. Really amazing piece of history. Even though there is a large sign on the road side it really gives no indication as to what is here. There is certainly a soak, as I went exploring and stepped into a quagmire and got my nice clean dry shoes all wet. Lucky I had an abundence of other footwear as I was heading home after the Oz Mega. The water in the well is so clear. I wonder if it is still drinkable. Thanks so much for pointing this out. Oh and thanks for the cache, no problems finding this either.

On the way back home from a weekend near Ilford we decided to have a break and look at this historic place. An interesting spot but a little damp in the area after all the rains.
Thanks for the break and the cache.

Great day out for caching - enjoyed the travelling. Thanks for the caches around here.
OMG - so very interesting about this area so loved it... Thanks for shared with us... WORTH TO VISIT... Signed the log. Thanks buggerme.
Great cache and great place for the birds and other animals. Very nice to see the history recorded at the site. TFTC
Now this is a great cache. I lived in Mudgee back in the 60s and travelled many times from Mudgee to Sydney and I can't remember EVER stopping here, and yet a stop is well worth the time and effort. Thank you for getting me off my bum and out of the rig to not only find a great cache, but to learn some factual history at a picturesque location. TNLN
Continuing south I saw this interesting sign saying Wishing Well. Oh well, might as well pull over. Checked the phone and sure enough there was a cache here. Made the stroll down and found it after a bit of a hunt in a fairly obvious spot once you see it (which you can't from the well itself). A hint might be useful to stop people investigating the rock wall near the well, it's up to the left past the plaque. Thanks buggerme, an interesting spot and piece of history.
Great spot - and lots of wishes have been made in the well (lots of coins). Beware it's soggy!

We went down to find i and the ground kids very wet. Friend and I said lets go this way and it was not too bad, Geokid3 said no this way looks better and then sank about 10cm into the mud....
After we stopped laughing we helps Geokid3 proceeded to GZ found the cache.
Great location and history.

TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity.
Was looking for an easy GZ till I decided to climb down and make the find. I think the terrain should be about 2.5 for this one. Thanks for the cache adn history.
Driven past this many times and never stopped. Thanks for placing the cache here to encourage me to have a look. Nice spot and history.
Of the 10 caches we did heading home from Mudgee, this was my favourite. Yes there is a roadsign, but we would have ignored it because it gives no great clue as to what is hidden here. We walked down the gentle path and took care not to sink into the water soaked ground. I needed to step through some soggy ground to get close, find the cache and take some photos.
A fantastic place we were glad to see. Thanks for bringing us here.
