After so many dnf's and no response from the CO, i think it is time for this one to go.
Searched for about 20 minutes as far as 15m from GZ but no luck, It might be time for this one to be archived
Searched around before breaking camp but no sign of the cache. Another DNF to add to the collection.
Despite all the DNFs we had a quick look and would like to contribute our own DNF Even the items in the hint appear to be gone!
Sitting at home over the weekend looking at the weather forecast, i saw that the first few days of Spring would be amazing. Mid 20's, mild nights and no chance of rain or strong winds. So it was an easy decision to make. A 3 day hike down at the prom was in order.
The Hike is set to go from Telegraph Saddle to Little Waterloo Bay on the first day. 23kms via Sealers and Refuge. As i have not been back to see the track since the landslides. Day 2 is Waterloo to Roaring Meg, via the Lighthouse and Southern Most Point. Day 3 Roaring Meg to the Junction and then hike 5kms back along Waterloo Bay track for another cache. And then head out.
Well the first day went to plan. Second day i found a ranger at midday and changed my overnight camp 5 kms closer to the finish to Halfway Hut. Then as i still got there quite early i decided to keep on hiking. Headed out to the Boulder Saddle cache and walked all the way back to the car. A 3 day hike into 2 days with a very long second day. Amazing view and photos in the area and so many good cache locations to be found.
Same as the other finders or DNF's before me. No luck finding the cache at GZ as there are trees all over the area where it should be. Sorry for the bad news.

We camped here overnight and it was a beautiful spot. Unfortunately even with a few attempts at searching for the cache we did not find it. We found rocks but there was a lot of cut/fallen vegetation so we had to admit defeat. We liked the message boards.
ohhww... The hint wasn't very helpful. Did not found the rocks, did not found the container. But anyway, we found a wonderful bay, we spent a couple of hours here, did some fishing, and walked back to Waterloo Bay in the afternoon, where we left our tents. Regards from the Swiss tourist.
Wow, what a whirlwind of emotions this cache evoked. First, we hiked 23 km to get here and knew it was another 23 km to get back. As we walked up the beach to wards the cache we saw many footsteps, which was of a bit of concern as we had hardly seen any trace of human life for the previous 23km. "Oh no", I thought, "C@H has sailed in on a yacht he bought on ebay and beaten us to the cache." We walked towards GZ to see a large tidy campsite with significant large pieces of equipment directly where GZ should be. Groan. We scratched about for a while looking for rocks but there didn't seem to be any. A lot of tree branches were in the vicinity of GZ and it was possible that things could have got quite buried. GZ itself is a most interesting artefact and well worth a visit. I was starting to get very depressed that we had walked all that way and were going to come away empty handed. I had started composing in my mind the sad little DNF log I was going to have to write. My eyes kept being drawn back to the lunchbox that looked like it had lollies in it which was neatly arranged as part of the yachties campsite. Eventually we established that no-one was home at the time and we became a bit bolder (and more desperate) and had a bit of a look around their stuff. We were both starting to think that there was no use hanging around any longer when I thought I would just have a closer look at the lolly lunchbox. As soon as I opened it I nearly cried for joy because I knew it was the cache. It had been lovingly tended by many visiting sailors. TeamOaky's FTF was in the log and we realised that this was the original cache. Can't explain it but there it was. A most memorable and perverse caching experience. Tahnks murrayp88.
JosieY and I came past as part of our quest to find "unloved" caches. There are number that have been isolated by flood damage and track closures until recently. We had a holiday booked at the Prom anyway but to fit around the rest of our party we set off at midnight. The walk from Tidal River to Little Waterloo Bay with light packs took 3.5 hours and we slept (in) until 8.30am.
We then walked without packs to Refuge Cove. There was a single yacht in the cove but there was a substantial camp at the boaties camp area. No one was about so we looked about quietly and cautiously, then after an enquiring "hello" to which there was no response we looked more earnestly for the cache, on the basis of the hint and description.
We were ready to give up when thought again about a lunchbox that we had seen already close to the boatie's belongings. We opened it an realised that it was the original cache, full of water, but with a dry enough log book, lovingly signed by plenty of boaties, but no geocachers for a couple years.
We added our signatures and left the cache to bluff others in the position we found it at the base of the boards. Despite being hungry I did not eat the Twirl bar.

So apparently the tracks will be open again for Easter, so im going to go ahead and enable these guys again. good luck finding them.
Due to all the track closure that are going on in the area its best to disable for the time being. When they open again i wish you the best of luck finding them.

The cache was indeed missing. I have replaced the cache and moved it about 4m. I placed a new container and a few swaps. however i did not have a new log book or cache note for it. If you are the next person attempting this cache it would be much appreciated if you could please add these in thanks. Hope you enjoy the hike!
A really good clue had us in the right spot but there was enough evidence to suggest that this cache may have fallen or been destroyed. No luck finding remains. Thanks for the idea and search in a really nice place.
Cache is not at his place. We took some time to search it, but found nothing. However, the beach is awesome
Thanks, 8leg & Katjuscha

If I was asked to describe the location of this cache in one word it would have to be “Stunning” This was my second visit to Refuge Cove and absolutely love the place.
I knew the sign board in Question as the kids where quite fascinated by it on our last visit. After a big hike in from Telegraph Saddle [xx(] I arrived at GZ. And may I say Boy what a hard hunt this was, after not able to get a good fix on GZ I concentrated my search on the sign board with no joy OK I’ve already had a frustrating DNF today it was not going to happen again or was it [?]
Out with the clue and some late lunch and a bit of time to ponder. Still no help every thing just keeps pointing to the sign boards in the end I just went with the GPS which ended up being about 3 m out and cache was eventually found in a most unlikely spot more luck than any thing else and a FTF after all this time with such a hard hide has there been some DNF someone isn’t telling us about [?]
Any way I just had time for a quick swim before pushing on to Sealers Cove for the night
Thanks for the cache in such a gorgeous location [^]
Footnote:- Now that FTF is over with, you might have to expand on the clue, I maybe wrong but I think your West direction might be wrong
