Accurate coordinate and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The logbook was full - hence we left a replacement in a sealed plastic bag. Thanks Woodrow-n-Minus for the cache.
All good. Log full but dry.Container lid isn't hinged but still good. After a huge effort to get these solved by the team, it's finally time to start finding these. All logs are signed as The Roos and most will be generic logs unless something sticks out at the time.A big thanks to the COs for placement and maintenance! Huge kudos!Tftc
Quick find on our way around the mystery series.Log dry and in good condition but is full and needs replacing.-------Out to Emerald for the Cotton GeoArt series with _hitam and finding a few along the highway on our way! We completed the puzzles some time ago and have finally found the time for a quick getaway to get the job done. Thanks for this series and the puzzles. They were done over good times and low times for us both and it has made for a good adventure to finally come and collect. Thanks for this wonderful series.
Out for a three day caching expedition from Gladstone with Spoony63 to grab these Emerald Cotton mysteries and other caches if we have time before she flies out to live in Canada. We have had the puzzles done for a couple of years - so it's now or never.Requires a new log book and the container lid was off when we got here. Put it back on, but a new container would be better.
Quick one. No lid, so have placed log in snaplock bag as well- sorry didnt have any containers left! *The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
We found this one while driving around the area . Tis a very pretty morning to be out and about on these country roads. Found during our travels and now were home were catching up on our logging. Thank you
Ocw the Bebes as we visit Emerald. This one was close to a trail of caches we were collecting. Interesting seeing the irrigation channels and associated infrastructure. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Visiting Emerald for a few days, this was an added bonus as we searched for jigsaw caches.Tftc
KFCD only legit find amongst the mystery caches, as he's non premium. So thanks!TFTc
During our stay at the Emerald Motel, we had the opportunity to explore the area and find hidden caches. We also had the chance to take in the sights and sounds of the local area. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Woodrow-n-Minus.
Found on a trip through western New South Wales and central Queensland to attend the QOGM at Longreach, then a return drive back to Adelaide via Brisbane, the north coast of NSW, central NSW and the Riverlands. Thanks for the cache Minus!
This evening after I grabbed dinner, I headed out to tackle a few of the ?? *Emerald Cotton* ?? geoart series, and it included this non-cotton cache along my circuit. I stopped and searched for the cache, making a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Woodrow-n-Minus for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, a full travel day was pencilled, driving from Gayndah to Emerald via Biloela.I started the day visiting the towns lookout before attending the local parkrun. Well and truly warmed up, I closed out my Gayndah visit with a drive up to the lookout and then visited the [Upside Down Bridge](https://coord.info/GC8ZMQ3) in the town across the river - an engineering masterpiece!I tend to be far too slow in my travel days morning, perhaps stopping at geocaches more than I should, although I enjoyed my visits to various towns. Perhaps at the hottest time of the day, I hurriedly hiked up Mt Scoria, and the basalt columns were impressive.I had lunch in Biloela and completed the [Biloela My Home Town](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/af82ce36-2dcf-4ff3-ab59-75a503cad4f2) Adventure Lab, and then I decided to take fewer stops to then arrive in Emerald just as the light was fading. Post dinner, I tried to find a few more town geocaches, visiting the botanic gardens to the south, and more of the Emerald cotton geoart.
Staying nearby for the night following our trip to the tip of qld I had time to slip away while others slept this morning. No trouble finding this one! Left a trackable that I have held.onto for far too long.
On a slow, meandering trip out to Longreach for the QOGM 2023 event.

Found while doing the jigsaw puzzles as I'm staying out at the dam. Thanks for the cache .
A bit of a walk around but after checking both sides of road got it. Cotton ready for harvesting
Amongst all the jigsaw caches I am doing with CybergranV, it was nice to come across this trad. Also interesting to see the lining of the canal to save water.
Thank you Woodrow-n-Minus.
Thank you Woodrow-n-Minus.
Nice to find this lonely little trad in amongst all the Mystery puzzles. Thanks for placing it here for Crustyvarmint’s and my entertainment on our visit to Emerald
We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 9 Today was spent in Emerald collecting all the jigsaw puzzles solved awhile ago. Never thinking we would actually get up here it was great to be able to put a smiley against the jigsaws. Nice tour around the area seeing a lot of cotton fields and the weather was great.
While in the area picking up a trail we collected this one as well.
No issues here.

Day 5 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
With two nights in Emerald, our daytime adventures focussed on this cotton series and others in the area. We had worked on all these puzzles during lockdown and never thought we would actually get here. But the lure of the Townsville Mega changed all that so here we are. We certainly had a fun day full of caching. Not too hot and no rain!
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,480. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 5 of our Townsville Trek, and we spent a full day and two nights here in Emerald to concentrate on this Cotton series. We spent a lot of time during Covid lockdown doing jigsaws, including this extremely well set up series (not knowing if we'd ever get up here - thank you CacheQLD Townsville Mega for the excuse to come here !). Most of these caches were quick finds, with just a few misleading us as to which side of the road it was and a few quite tricky hides. However we found them all which was the object of our visit. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks Minus !! A nice bonus cache along the way.

Day 5 of a road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today it was all about finishing off this Emerald series.
After completing the jigsaw series we continued around town grabbing a few other caches. A couple of DNF's in that lot, however this one was found ok and the cache in good condition. A few differnt locations visited, but it was certainly good to get back to the camp ground and sit in the shade for a while.
Many thanks to all the CO's. Most logs were signed SdL / L Lion.

#13647 - 8:26:00 AM; Day five of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune and after spending the first of two nights in Emerald, we set out to collect the remainder of the local geoart. Grabbed this one as we passed by on the geoart trail! TFTC Woodrow-n-Minus
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks Woodrow-n-Minus (F=368 H=17) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

This was a nice quick find whilst we were completing the nearby geoart. We almost missed it as we had only downloaded the art work so luckily we looked at the wrong map a cache before this one. Thanks for placing this for us to find.
We are zig zagging our way north with micaparamedic, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 and after staying at Blackall we are heading towards the Lab caches in Emerald via Barcaldine to grab a few solved puzzles there.
We are now heading out to try our luck at the Cotton ball Geo art jigsaw series that happily we had sorted out before leaving home and on the way through we came across this one.
We have seen many canals in our travels but this is the first one we can recall seeing that was plastic lined so this caused a group discussion for a while then we got on to the task at hand and the real reason we stopped here. Happily this task was achieved quickly and to save room in the log we signed as "The Vics".
Thanks Minus for the cache.

We are visiting Emerald for a couple of days, and have been most impressed by the incredible irrigation systems for the cotton plants. We pulled up at GZ and made a quick find here and we are very happy to see such incredible engineering.

This was my second day in Emerald gathering the various caches that are about. I apologise for the generic log. In all 24 caches found and were mostly I’m good order. A bit of dampness in some log books. Thanks for showing me this area.
What a cool spot!
Krcamber spotted this one and, with the assistance of a kitchen tool, retrieved the cache for signing.

A traditional that has popped up in the middle of the puzzle trail. Always good to see. A straight forward find in a common hiding spot.
On our third day in Emerald, and we decided that we needed to find some puzzles. Mr SKI had spent ages and ages solving theses puzzles as we slowly made our way towards Emerald, and he says he’s very glad he likes doing jigsaws or it would have been a very painful job. It’s great when you get your reward as soon as the puzzle is finished, no need to expose yourself to any coord checkers that are just as likely to reject your efforts!
We appreciate the effort that goes into developing, placing and maintaining any geocache, and puzzles just add an extra level of complexity, so we would like to thank all those involved with these puzzles around Emerald. Great job, thank you.

A long road trip to Emerald from Brisbane for 2 little turmoils, but they did really well. We were here for the geoart and anything else that Emerald had to offer. Thanks for something extra to hunt for.
An early pre-dawn drive to collect the majority of the cotton ball. It started very dark, and finished in the daylight, included two muggles who stopped in the middle of the road along with some very heavy mud (ain't seen nothing yet).
Well, this journey started about 12 months or more ago, skip 2020 and we find ourselves planning a long-overdue road trip. This means one thing ... a cache run would be involved. One or two different routes where planned caches were studied, some more than others (manly puzzle styles), and a plan was hatched.
It includes the most number of puzzles we have ever solved personally, Wherigo's, and even a few 'FTF' (FTF) FTF caches. The distance that was driven is approx. 3500 km. Over some 10 days. 14km of muddy, red, and black soil 4wd only slip-sliding heart-pumping road - which we got through without incident only to get bogged a while later on the side of a tar road doing a U-turn.
The total number of caches found is yet to be determined, could also depend upon my logging them, as those who know me also know my lack of logging or length of time to do so could mean the correct total will never be shown. Still, it’s not about the numbers.
Logs have been signed with any one of the following, JABs, FWBs, TasReach, MEMO, or TR. Often depended upon who was signing the logbook, time of the day, length of the days caching run, sleep-deprived state, condition of the logbook. Penned often in the first available spot (except in the case of new cache), in between other cache's names. Hopefully to help extend the life of a logbook. The date was not often recorded, again to save room and maybe a little time.
Distance travel is undetermined, basically, fly from Hobart to Brisbane, drive northerly to Gympie, out through Gayndah, Monto to the Westwood, and then turn west straight out to Longreach, with a part-day layover to collect all those 92 solved puzzles. Home is hopefully via Jericho, south through Mexico and into Blackall then down and cross to Roma, Toowoomba Brissie and fly home.
Meeting up with great family friends of ours to share part of this journey MEMO, the cache name TasReach or TR for short was born, been both Tasmania and Longreach. So wished each cache could have its own story, but in that case, I would never finish logging. So I thought a long story was better than a TFTC. But hey thanks for the cache anyway.
JABs.

This was the only traditional we looked for today while out finding Cotton Geoart. I never thought I’d be pleased to see a guard rail cache! After the last cache I found where I was covered with particularly vicious centimetre long, sharp, black seed that took me about 20 minutes to remove before I could get back into the cool car, I think I have been mentally scarred for life!
While doing the geoart I noted that i’d driven straight past this one. I hadn’t overshot it by too much as the art trail sends you one way only to have to double back to head down another route. Quickly popped back for this. Did note it as i drove across the canal but completely forgot about this poor traditional.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that i can claim the finds or not as the case may be. TFTC.

Day eleven of my outback Queensland trip and the plan today is to complete all the caches in Emerald and then head to Springsure for the night. Continuing with my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day will be easy today. My main aim is to complete the cotton bud geoart which should be fun and collect a few more for the day. I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit.
I am enjoying the time, the caching and the adventures that comes with that. These caches were easy finds and I saw some familiar name in the logs, was I following? All caches were easy finds and in good condition. With the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

I like getting these old ones out in the country. This one is still going strong after 10 years. Tftc
After leaving Adelaide a couple of weeks ago and heading up to Queensland via Innamincka, camping along the way, I needed to have break to get the car serviced, clean a bit of the dust off everything and re-stock. Emerald seemed like a good spot to stop for a couple of days. It also had the added attraction of the geoart series and a few other caches that interested me.
This morning I headed out early to complete the geoart series, as well as some other caches along the way.
This was a quick find as I was passing. Fortunately the workers doing some canal maintenance/improvements were far enough away to be just out of sight.
Thanks Woodrow-n-Minus for the cache.

Great to grab a few older caches.
We arrived in town unprepared for what was on offer.
Our second day caching around Emerald doing the Cotton flower and again so many special locations to visit.
It was a bit cooler today and we enjoyed the pace we achieved.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.
