found with HERBM_ , lots of trees down after the big storms this week, so we had to detour a bit. TFTCalso fyi there is water in the cache container.
I have been waiting quite a while now to finish off some of these Bunyip caches, waiting for the weather to brighten up a little but without getting too hot. Today was the day at last, light drizzle, cloudy, cooler - perfect. It also meant i had to wear waterproof trousers and jacket, giving me extra protection whilst bush bashing from the undergrowth and any unwanted local creatures! I had been out for a big day up on the main ridge line so this cache was a quick stop off on the way home although proved a little more off road than i was expecting, got there in the end though. Cache is still in excellent condition and dry. TFTC.
Went for a walk with the wife and son once the weather cleared up and turned out to be a nice day. Grabbed a few caches in the bunyip state park only accessible by walking. Used to drive these tracks many years ago. Cache found quickly and lots in the area have had fresh log books, I was first to sign the new log book for this one.TFTC.
Cache found with lid off umm no wonder it was water compromised.. container switched with new container and log. Travel bug rescued from the depths of the water.
This cache is on our radar but taking all the heavy rain into consideration it will be a while before we can get there. RL
----------### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUESTED PLEASE** ###----------Hi there Cache Guardians,It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident. The cache has been [**temporarily disabled**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235), so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location, until the issues/s can be addressed.**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.#What you need to do:-#You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-- **Check On The Cache** - once checked, place an Owner Maintenance log and then enable the cache.- **Place A Write Note Log** - indicating a date when you expect it will be restored. - **Adopt Out or Archive** - depending on whether you want it kept or for it to disappear.Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page. You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned. It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above. Thanks for your cooperation,Bunjil (Pete & Helen)Volunteer Reviewers - Australia[3B]
A little bit of bush bashing was required, but I eventually found the hiding spot.Sadly the cache is very wet internally, and the logbook has contracted mould due to an I'll fitting lid.Dropped a TB off here, and hopefully someone comes to visit soon.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Cache Guardians for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

I was in the area checking out Mortimers Adventure, this was close by, a short bush bash was had for an easy find, this sword grass is not fun to walk through. I did not see many ferns on the route I took to GZ. I cant believe its taken me twelve years to come and find these caches.
Thanks Hi Pressure for placing this cache.
Thanks Hi Pressure for placing this cache.
Very wet bush bash, carry a waving stick to clear the many spiderwebs, a few leeches too. Cache itself half full of water, but new log was safe and dry. Emptied water and packed to keep the new log high, TNLNSL TFTC
It was a good thing I came prepared for a little bush bashing having triple layered in aerogaurd, bushman and perithym, I covered up from head to toe and went it, it was a slow path to GZ stoping every few Meters to access for travelers, yep their were many fatalities, thankfully they were only tiny ones that I could handle not sure how I would have gone with the larger variety. Cache located temporary new log book and ziplock bag added as old log book was unusable. In my attempt to avoid more fatalities I tried to find a path out.....1km later I was still searching for that main path and being so covered up with layers, it was starting to feel like I was in a sauna .... eventually I made it out..
we strike in the darkness
finding treasure in the daylight is overrated: of course you can spot a bright plastic box beside a tree when the forest is professionally lit by a hundred thousand lumens
but try finding that same treasure under dim torchlight and that’s a different ballgame
so, to add to the challenge, we waited at the campground for sundown and then waited a little more for night to truly take the reins
the first discovery:
a dark forest plays on the mind
all sorts of monsters lurk in the shadows: tree trunks become legs, fern fronds become tentacles, spiders remain spiders
the second discovery:
treasure

This was certainly a bush bash, and i was surprised not to encounter any leeches as we hadnt sprayed ourselves yet. Day1976 got to the cache before me, found it easy, but couldnt see a track around anywhere like mentioned in previous logs.
Took a bit of bush-bashing to get in to this one, but worth it once we were there. TFTC!
While in the area again, Toolman and myself thought we would go for a stroll towards this cache. The bush fires missed this area and it has now been completely reopened.
Unlike when I was last here and DNFed thus cache, I saw the small over grown track. Must have been the main trail and some stage, but clearly unused now.
We got to the GZ, and before I was even in position, Toolman had found this cache. Maybe he doesn't log all the caches he finds, but he finds them dam quickly.
Thanks for the cache Hi Pressure and the Cache Guardians

A bushfire is active near GZ of this cache. Disabled until further notice.
Mother Nature had done her level best to hide this cache from view, but before long I heard the tell-tale sound of wood on plastic. The cache was nonetheless, swimming in water so a new log in a new container is now present. The container has been up sized to around 0.5l and is lime green in colour (no painted ones with me) so please re-hide it well. (MD)
After getting my 2000th cache find, this was next on my list.
I must be overconfident, still a noob or its missing
Thanks anyway hi pressure

I saw this cache near another I was revisiting this afternoon and thought it would be a nice easy one to grab on my way home and it was relatively easy with the exception of going in through the bush rather than the trail and having to cross a creek getting mud all over my work shoes but got there and was sort of able to sign the log....
The log book is extremely wet and I did not have and sheets on me.
Cache was fun and fairly easy. TFTC

Found very wet and I think something may have been growing inside the bag. Nice walk though. I’d seen this track a few times and thought it was too overgrown but I was surprised how easy it was to follow. Lot easier to find the top end of the track than the bottom
Moist. Having walked here in the past when there was a walking track I found my way and the cache very easily but the hide and subsequently the cache were full of water. I drained it out and managed to etch my name into the paper mache but this does need attention.
Eventually found it. Missed the trail on the way out. Went cross country with a four year old on my back. Cache is pretty wet inside.
I was getting terrible phone reception, and stomping through the path that's almost not a path. Palms were sweaty, calves were burning. Hmm I wonder if it's in there, BINGO! TFTC
This became the first cache of a mini hi pressure-fest today. I haven't really sought many HP trads, so what the hell!? This ended being one of those found-the-path-only-on-the-way-out sort of situation. And also a cache-was-totally-submerged-in-water sort of situation. I went cross-country on the way in as the foliage was not particularly dense and I couldn't see a path. Foliage was dense enough though that my lower leg brushed against...something allowing for deposit of a hungry leech. Though I didn't notice said leech until a bit later. Upon reaching what seemed to be GZ I checked the hiding place several times before I found the cache. I circled around looking for other possibilities (some of these old coords don't seem spectacularly accurate after all) but when I finally plunged a stick deep into some murk in the most obvious location a sistema revealed itself. The log was quite dry within its bag though, so signing was no problem. I propped the cache up out of the water, so it may just be okay. Thanks hi pressure and Cache Guardians!
After some cache maintenance in Gembrook, I wanted a bit of a walk, so attempted this series. I walked up the main track and almost missed the turnoff. My GPS showed a track heading off to the cache, but nothing was obvious. Fortunately, I saw a crumbling sign a little way in the bush that said walkers only. I headed for it, then continued to GZ, mainly on what little was left of the track.
Found the cache without too much difficulty. Thanks for the cache and the walk.

As usual I found the hardest way in and had a lot easier walk out, Thanks to all those who

Maintenance performed by an interested community. Thanks to team Thommo for the maintenance on this classic geocache and a GREAT result all around for these caches. Well done!
Great news these caches will soon be adopted. recent maintenance means the cache is all fresh and ready to go.
I'm very excited to report that a group of like minded cachers are currently working on making arrangements to 'adopt' this cache cache, it may take some time for this to happen. I am more than willing to be the caretaker of this cache if that is able to happen.
I also have been trying to contact the owner to see it I can help in some way with the ongoing maintenance of this cache (even adoption if necessary).
This could take some time, please refrain from blocking this cache further to allow us time to complete our process.
Thanks for your consideration.

Being in a bit of a Mood I decided I need to go for a walk in the bush to make that mood better.
I know this one is archived and never coming back which makes me sad. I wish everyone loved hi pressure caches like me and I wish everyone carried spare log books and containers to 'fix' them rather than logging NM's.
Anyway it was a bit of a bush bash I walked up and down Steege road a couple of times to try and find a place to penetrate the bush. Eventually I found an animal track and decided to bash the 150+ meters to GZ. I was hoping there were not an hungry tiger snakes around and I only managed to fall down one disused wombat hole. At about 40m to GZ I realised it was going to be tough going back to the car too!
Anyway a likely GZ found, the cache was down deep and upside down, which probably didn't help the condition I found it in, yes it is soggy and yuck. I'm not sure how many people will find it after me but I have placed a new log, left some spare swaps and container in place for those who want the adventure!
At GZ I saw a path that looked a lot better than the bush bashing I had just done, I followed it back to Steege road. It's a disused walking track that is becoming very over grown. If you enter the bush around S37 58.923 E145 35.348 headed in a slightly North West direction you will find a very old ' walkers only' sign right near some concrete pillars, beyond that is the path I took back to the road. The walk was aprox 150 from that point.
Once again TFTC hi_pressure TBV

MAINTENANCE REQUIRED?
[navy] I notice from recent log entries that this cache would seem to be in need of owner intervention as there are one or more comments in regard to the state of the cache log. Therefore I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.
A basic tenet of geocaching is that the cache log needs to be signed to record a find, see here; http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#logging . At the moment this would seem to be extremely difficult if not impossible to meet that requirement in regard to this cache.
Your attention to the maintenance responsibilities of cache ownership would be appreciated and your prompt attention to any log that indicates things could be amiss will be welcomed by all seekers, see here: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance The rule is; if you can't fix it straight away then Disable it till you can and here's how; http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235
If your still not sure what I'm on about, check out this Blog: http://www.geocaching.com/blog/2015/03/you-hid-your-first-geocache-now-what/
Please respond to this situation by 17th January to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time, please be sure to post a "Write Note" log (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.
And don't forget, once you have addressed the issue, post both an "Owner Maintenance" log see here; http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404 and an "Enable Listing" log see here; https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 to get your cache up and running again..[/navy]

Had to bush bash part of the way here and quick find. Then found an old overgrown track on the way back. The bush bashing wasn't as bad as you gotta be made of.

Found at 1435 on a combined cache-collecting and fungi-finding trip into Bunyip State park with SirJ-Oz and the folks. We wandered up Steege Rd until the GPSr arrow indicated it was time to head off-track, then slowly bush-basked our way to GZ, picking our way around the sword-grass if we could avoid it (or slowly pushing our way through if we couldn't - glad I don't wear shorts when caching!) - it seemed a little at odds with the description of 'along a walking track', but wasn't the first time I'd wandered further than expected to claim a find.
Once on site the cache was quickly found - unfortunately the book was completely sodden, but we were still just able to sign/scratch our names in the log. When we returned the cache to its hiding place I tried to raise it up a bit to reduce the chances of further water-logging, but where it's positioned any decent rain is likely to fill it again - this one could really do with some TLC, or at least a really hot day and someone with the time to sit at GZ to dry it out a bit.
The return to Steege Rd was a little easier when SirJ found a vaguely defined path to follow, which surprisingly terminated in a 'walkers only' sign and a couple of concrete bollards buried in the undergrowth - turns out it was the apparently-abandoned and very overgrown Barker Link firetrail.
This was to be the last find on this caching run, as we had camping plans for New Years Eve and were rapidly running out of preparation time. Thanks for the cache hi pressure.

Find #1642. Found @ 14:35 with AmethystPig on a trip around Cardinia Reservoir and Bunyip Forrest with some of AP's family along.
We'd collected the primary target cache for today, but there is always room for one (or several) more.
After a lunch break and change of venue, we begun a combined caching walk and fungi inspection tour. AP's father photographs, logs types and locations of fungi.
The coordinates wanted us to venture way off the established path. While I was providing GPS coordinates for a fungi find, piggie went bush. By the time I caught up, he'd made the find of the very wet log. The bejewelled swine made some sort of vague facsimile of our monikers in the log and then we noticed a semi-track-like lull in the undergrowth not too far from our location. We followed it as best we could and arrived at the location of the attached picture.
Interestingly, there were also some bollards to prevent cars from going up the "track". It felt a bit like the forest was reclaiming the area just a little too efficiently.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache hi pressure.

This track has not been used for quite a while. We couldn't find the uphill end so we came down to the lower end and worked back up. Not too difficult to find the hide once the path was located. The cache is in dire need of maintenance. Contents and log have got wet, so almost impossible to sign. Thanks for the adventure!
Gnarly track :/:/
Great walk though.
Couldnt sign in though as notepad and container is waterlogged and rotten.
Please fix when you can.

Find #1288
I headed out tonight with my caching partner Stemicmitsar primarily to continue a long Mystery cache that we have been working on for a few weeks. We did of course pick up whatever other caches we could along the way.
Another great cache to find as we made our way towards our main objective. Even better was the fact that this cache was 'unloved'.
SL TFTC
Water in container was drained but log book was sodden. Sorry I didn't have a spare with me.

Found @ 11:01pm, find # 3338.
Tonight biggles1024 and myself continued your mission to find the next lot of waypoints for a mystery cache we are working on. On the way we were also finding others in the area as we went by, this was one of them.
This was an interesting one. We parked just off the main road and headed along the track. As we headed along we noticed that the track we were on was not getting any closer and the cache was still about 150 metres away, it was now time to head bush. After a while, we had made it to GZ where Mark had the honours of finding this cache, we then noticed a very overgrown track running right beside GZ, we then followed it back to the main track. Once on the main track, we looked back and could why we missed it on the way in as it is very hard to see, well at night anyway.
Thanks to hi pressure for placing this cache.

good walking tracks but its a pitty that they have closed off the tracks from driving.
pleasant walk through the bush on a nice day, easy track for a stroll, log book is soaked and needs replacing.
Found @1313 #2661
Was out and about today caching around the Bunyip state park, running solo and the recent rains made for some fun driving at times, once or twice the ABS had to kick in. Not a large find tally today but an enjoyable none the less as was able to pick up a few stray caches that were still left on the map.
Had attempted this one about 18 months but failed to find the start of the walking track from the 4x4 track. Well this time I finally spotted it but not straight away and it was where I had expected it to be. Happen to spot the "Walkers Only" sign by chance some 10m off the track, the track is very over grown which explains why I missed it the first time. Once on the track it was not has bad but its a track I doubt many people trek these days. Pleased to finally have cache in hand and given the tree cover the cache today for me was 10m out, a logical hide and the hint helped. The log book was soaked so left some note paper which I signed. TFTC hi pressure.

Found our 30th cache this morning. This cache needs serious maintenance. Log book was very wet, could not write in it. Good hide. tFTC
Even on a warm day in the middle of summer and without any recent rain, the cache-container was 1/2 filled with water, the log book (still in it's plastic bag) was impossible to sign.
Given it's been almost a year since this cache was logged as found, I was surprised at how easy and accessible it is. Parked the car just off the sealed road, about 300m from the cache, because the gate was locked. Walked up the newly-maintained fire-access-track and over the new pipe/bridge that has been built. Spotted what looked like a logical start to a walking track and then saw the 'walking only' sign (hidden behind a tree) shortly after.
After a nice walk down the track, lovely sunny day but not too hot, got to GZ without problem and was able to easily identify a likely cache hiding place. The cache was buried in a fair amount of bush-detritus - so much of it that the cache actually had worms living ontop!
Unfortunately the cache container was 1/2 full of water and the log book was impossible to sign, the container was intact and appears to seal fine, so I can only presume that when it rains, the cache-hide-location fills with water which then soaks into the container.

My 3rd and final cache out here as I am running out of time and water.
Had a bit of trouble finding track because of the undergrowth, if it hadnt of been for the hidden sign I would never of found it and didnt feel like bush bashing way out here for 150 metres or so.
Cache was wet inside and log book was mush so couldnt sign it. I couldnt work out why everything was wet, the cache and plastic bag were sealed well.

After spending Australia Day in the area, me and the boys were back for more caching in the area. The plan was to do some caches in the Kurth Kiln Regional Park and work our way down through Bunyip State Park and to see how far we could go. It was quite warm at 30 degrees but under the cover of the tree canopy it wasn't too bad.
We had a great day, working our way through the area along many dirt tracks, stopping for a 'picnic' lunch along the way. The boys had a great time and they were awe struck at some of the spots we eventually ended up at.
This cache turned out to be a bit of an epic. After finding 'back to nature' across the road I decided to drive down the track as close to GZ as possible. the gate had been closed but was unlocked so I just opened it and we drove down. We had to go over a bit of washed out road / bridge but that didnt prove to be a problem. The problem was finding the entance to the track to GZ, which was marked on my maps but not easily visible.
We drove in and made our way up the track, then turned around and drove back out ot the main road. I checked some logs and realised I was in the right spot the first time, so we drove back in again and parked the Pathy in the obvious car parking spot. After a bit of bush bashing we found the sign that indicated that there was actually a path here and could see the indications of a track leading in the direction of GZ.
The track was very heavily overgrown and with Cooper on my back and Tyler close behind, we fought our way through the undergrowth to GZ. Once there, the waterlogged cache was found and I managed to scribe my name into the log book. If I had a new logbook, I would have replaced it. Heading back I had one 20kg boy on my back and the other clinging onto my front. We pushed our way through the undergrowth and man was I relieved to get back to the car.
A favourite for me, just for the effort and adventure to get here.
Thanks hi pressure.

Lovely walk but very overgrown. The road is closed off because bridge has been washed out, but we did a bit of beam walking to get across. Cache was very wet inside. Log book very wet too. I dried it a bit but there isnt much a hankie can do with a wet log book. Thanks for the adventure.
Found with Nom234 after a short walk and although some of the trail had been destroyed by floods my inner Bear Grylls helped me overcome. T4TC!

No 4x4 today.
We left the car by the road and proceeded on foot.
Before I new it the path was closed and a section that was completely eroded except for one tree crossing.
We crossed and after further walking on a path that is starting to become overgrown the cache was soon in hand.

Oh dear. The mozzies were really killing me but I managed to stay alive. 4x4 is kind of out of the question at the moment

Good friday, no work today for me, spent the morning at home cleaning and the afternoon caching.
I had attempted this one before but there was fading light, so had an issue searching with no torch. Came back today to find track was closed due to recent heavy rains. Went along the track anyway to find a huge section of the track had been taken out and the onlu way past was via a slippery log or bashing through the bush. I chose the slippery log, it was even harder due to the fact i had my bike with me!! anyway, crossed the abyss without any dramas. Left the bike at the start of the overgrown track to the cache. As I approached GZ, the heavens opened and I was saturated within seconds. I continued on anyway and found the cache pretty much straight away with thanks to a previous log from Alansee.
Thanks to Hi Pressure for the cache. TNLN

You can wonder - who struck this becoming overgrown track in the first place? Miners, Loggers, early European Settlers, the Indigenous Custodians? No matter, it is set in a lush (though the Trees seem young, as if succcessors to perhaps a logging time), Forest. An easy, rewarding short walk from the 'Car Park' in one direction and a longer walk in a loop via a Picnic Ground (further up the track) in another. Thank you to 'hi pressure' for the thoughtful placing of the Caches and importanly the essence of why they were placed. Well pleased to find all 4 Caches in the company of Dylan 7a. TNLN.
An enjoyable walk along a somewhat overgrown track. The cache took a little while to find as, for the second time today, it was buried! However the hiding spot was obvious.
Finally found the track where GZ is but no luck finding cache. Even the clue was of no help. Starting to get dark, no torch. Give up on this one.......For Now!!!
After doing "Back to Nature" not far away a few weeks ago, I didn't have any time left for this one, so I came back today instead. A nice unmaintained trail, very obscured from the main track. TFTC hi pressure!
Found with Iain from the Swaggie's after doing a couple of cache's in this serie's we decided to try our luck and complete the serie's whilst here but with the light fading and our legs hurting from previous cache's in the area we got all but one, walked past to path to gz and after a short backtrack we had the cache in hand. The Leeche's were a bonus!
Thanks for the cache Hi-Pressure.
Thanks for the cache Hi-Pressure.
Found with Mr Jibblets today in fading light, we were trying to complete this series as well but we were having problems with running out of time. At GZ we surprised a couple who were hiking back from somewhere and I guess they did not expect to see a couple of swarthy characters standing around on the trail. After they quickly hurried past we could put the container back and headed back to the car for another couple (we hoped). Thanks hi_pressure for the cache.
We found this cache at 3:30pm as the 11th of 18 on our Olinda to Gembrook. We didn't originally have these caches on our list but since we had just finished almost all of our intended caches by just after 3:00pm, we decided to head out here too. Nice little path. Our 118th 3TF. Thanks from D & S B-A.
