A quick "archiving road trip" down the Great Ocean Road this morning to collect the container. Huge surf and quiet roads.
The idea was for the series cute while it lasted, but to avoid any dangerous driving incidents by people trying the series in reverse order, this series has been archived.

I have decided that the placement of these guard-rail caches along this narrow, curvy road is too dangerous.
Despite of my clear warnings on the cache page, I am concerned by logs from cachers that still attempt them from the "wrong" direction (i.e. travelling from Apollo Bay towards Torquay), which entails cutting across traffic, sometimes on blind corners. While I cannot control how people choose to drive, I do not want to be responsible for a fatality as the roads get busy over Summer.
Collection and Archiving of this cache is planned within the next month.

Quick stop on the way to Apollo Bay to start the Great Ocean Walk. Unfortunately the visibility wasn't great today. TFTC
I enjoyed this series! The caches weren't lame at all; they're well thought out. Well made. Easy to find (so the non-caching spouse didn't get too impatient!) The cache container is a great idea, and the advice to photographers a nice touch.
And it gave us a wonderful chance to take in the views along this magnificent section of coast - and be passed continually by a lunatic cyclist.
Thank you for the cache!

Nice spot. Took a few pictures (not with the container ) and then headed to the next cache.

Another quick find. Looks like there are some geocachers about 30 minutes ahead of us. I think they grabbed the trackable. TFTC
Rocky Glen Grommets were visiting Victoria (Aussie MotoGP at Phillip Island) and were on their way home when they decided to do some caching - this was number 15 for today before heading along the great Ocean Road - left a school lanyard - no geocoin in cache.
We really enjoyed it driving along the coastline, it was a pity to have not so much time, only one day!!!
GOR 9/27!!

Easier find as the road get quieter.. Oh..the AFL final has started (again!). Thanks Mr Emu.
A nice and easy find in the dark, with very few muggles passing. TFTH...SL....TNLN
Love your LGC caches Mr Emu. Great idea to place nice and easy cache on that fantastic road. We really enjoy it. We did half in Mars when we arrive in Australia and the rest this week when it's almost time to lo leave. Your caches are extremely well maintain... Bravo.Bonjour from French Canadians. TFTC, SL
This was yet another great view, and fortunately, yet again no-one else around to disturb us. TFTC.
Find # 1482 @ 11:30
Parked at gz with no one about which made for a very quick snatch and grab. TNLNSL Thanks for the series Mr. Emu!

Drove to Bells Beach for a look and a possible cache or 2 then was able to complete the LGC series. Thanks for the great series Mr Emu.
2010-07-03 15:41 Found on our way to Apollo Bay along with all except #12 which is currently disabled. Thanks Mr Emu.
Did the tour the wrong way around when heading towards Sydney. Great views but really adventurous cutting across the lane in order to get into the bays - thanks, we loved it.
EB 13 leapt from the car and made a quick find just before the skies opened- we are enjoying the series. EB Nano took teapot set and left a $2 poker chip. Thanks for the cache
Found this morning at 9.30am. Good series to break down the drive. Enjoying the views. Thanks Mr Emu
Took the geomunchkins geocaching while the geo wife worked in Lorne for the day. 2 others had logged this the same day prior to me.
Was very quiet when we arrived and had the place to ourselves while we logged the find. As soon as we were back in the car, hordes of muggles inundated the place. Perfect timing, why can't it always be like that?

Our second last find for the day before heading into the hinterland for a bushwalk. Unfortunately some person has enjoyed a pizza in the rest area and left a few souvenirs. A nice view of Lorne was enjoyed before we left a car and signed the log. TFTC.
I did this series (Except the disabled #12) in reverse order today on the way back from the Earthcaches near Port Cambell.
I had a ball with this series and by no way are any of these 'Lame'.
The scenery is fantastic. The cache locations are superb and the containers are well loved and maintained.
All in all a great series of caches on a 'Great' stretch of road.
Well done.

GPS took a little while to settle with this one and I found myself walking up and down the rail. Found it and was returning from the car, after filling in the log, to re-hide it when a family of tourists turned up in a minivan parking right at the hide spot. Patiently waited for more than 10 minutes but with no sign of them leaving and as we needed to be in Lorne quite soon, we decided that we would have to borrow the cache for a few hours. Hope no-one was looking for it while it was gone. Returned successfully around 2-3 hours later. TFTC
On a weekend trip down the Great Ocean road I really liked the cache series. TFTC from California
Found by The Empire and pocketrocket&friends, Wednesday 7th April, 2010 @ 12pmish.

LGC #4 Found with Schatzuche and The Hunta on our way home from the Mega Event in Wagga, just a slight detour back to Adelaide but well worth the trip, great scenes and even better caches Thanks Mr Emu for all the work you have put in along this beautiful peace of coast line and this brilliant series, the detour was worth this alone. Given the effort you have put in we decided to add a little of our own. Please enjoy the photos we took using your cameras along the way.

Our eighth LGC on the way along the Great Ocean Rd towards Melbourne. We found these caches to be very enjoyable as they were always placed in lovely scenic spots. TFTC!!!
#45 for us
A nice easy find on our way back from claiming a FTF on "Don't get Hooked" in Lorne. Very little traffic around at 8:30pm on Easter Monday night, so accessing these in reverse order was no problem. Juc_jr's beady eyes soon had the well-decorated cache in hand. Back to the car to sign the logs.. TN, Left rubber frog. TFTC.

On a coastal cruise to clean up between Anglesea to Warrnambool , have not been here for a while and was great to have a look around in a caching sort of way and appreciated the LGC series and know of more cachers who have their eye on it . thank you Mr Emu
At the beginning of a GOR tour, so I can only find caches in the vicinty of our stops, as the rest of the travellers are (so far!) non-cachers!
Thanks for makiang it easy to combine caching with this incredible scenery!

Moved onto this one after LGC #01 - 03 and will make this the last that we do of this series for a while. (The owners description, or at least the "L" part of it, is correct so I'm gonna try some other caches now.)
None-the-less, TFTC etc.

Found by Mary & David at 1255. can you imagine the work needed to get this road built, and now it is considered one of the must-do drives. Our thanks to Mr Emu as usual.
Arrived here at 11.15 with the sea smooth and looking beautiful. There were quite a few muggles in the area but as happened all day they soon leave. I think this one may be a little voluble where it is placed but time will tell. This cache drew blood for the first time today so had to quickly break out the large bandages to prevent bleeding to death.
Mr Emu has employed a large huntsman to guard this cache so be very careful. NI-NO and thanks for the placement of this cache.
Find # 3154 and 22nd of the day at 2:15 pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on our Great Ocean Road Trip. Nice views, TNLN, left my mark in the log, Thanx Mr Emu....
I have driven along here so many times but never stopped before at all these lay-bys. Great views at them all and loads of tourists.
Had to wait a while here before we could grab the cache.
TFTC Mr Emu.

The 6th of 16 finds on this Valentine's Day drive with Mrs 1SR. Found at 1005. What a great idea for a series along this road. It made me stop instead of driving on past. A quick find even being on a Sunday. TNLN TFTC
This was cache # 37 of 43 for the day, on our tour of Geelong and the Surf Coast. Another find with a great view. My thanks to Mr Emu for the cache.
Found while out with Acts2YouthGroup on a good weather day for caching. This one was found after a short search. I have known the history of this road for a long time but it is great that those plaques have been placed along the road too. Thanks Mr Emu.
The fourth one found this morning at 10.50am with beanie And enjoying the views as well and a second to find
Signed the log and off to the next LGC cache

This was another parking area that we had to pass by until we could find a safe place to do a u-turn and approach from the other direction. Once this was done we pulled in to find a lone vehicle also parked there, the occupants were nowhere to be seen so again we had the cache in hand after following the GPSr needle to exactly where it said it would be and now a tenth blank page has got our stamp on it. We read the plaque before heading off to the next one.
Thanks again Mr Emu for the cache
