Logs
The idea was for the series cute while it lasted, but to avoid any dangerous driving incidents by people trying the series in reverse order, this series has been archived.
The cache has now been removed, but I will leave the listing "live" to allow a cacher that wrote in the logbook recently the opportunity to log their visit on GC.com.
I have decided that the placement of these guard-rail caches along this narrow, curvy road is too dangerous.
Despite of my clear warnings on the cache page, I am concerned by logs from cachers that still attempt them from the "wrong" direction (i.e. travelling from Apollo Bay towards Torquay), which entails cutting across traffic, sometimes on blind corners. While I cannot control how people choose to drive, I do not want to be responsible for a fatality as the roads get busy over Summer.
Collection and Archiving of this cache is planned within the next month.

Thanks for all the nice caches on the GOR. We were really lucky that they hadn't been archived at the time we were there. We were also nearly alone on the road and driving in the right direction so had no problem finding and logging them safely.
Thank you, Clauphi from Germany

We had to stop for raodworks and then somebody showed us a koala.
Thanks for all the easy finds along the way

Roadworks had all traffic stopped for lights right at gz so we had to time the sequence just right so as not to be too obvious grabbing and replacing. NINO TFTC
I enjoyed the LGC series. Definitely too many to stop for all of them, but whenever the family was willing to stop somewhere, I could be sure to find an easy cache there. This was a Must-stop, as there were roadworks next to the cache. Made a quick grab and got back in line.
Thanks, p-boro

I didn't like to stop for the roadworks, but I saw my first koala in the wild, which was really nice
Thanks, suntu
Thanks, suntu
There were road works right next to this cache because of a rock slide, so muggles were taking this as an opportunity to stop and look at the view that we'd been enjoying all along. Due to the smallness of the turn-out and the high muggle traffic we decided to skip this one; I left my invisibility cloak behind in Tassie and just couldn't risk revealing the cache location to muggles.
Thank you for the hide!
Thank you for the hide!
Cars were queueing up right near the cache due to roadworks, so I had to bide my time before retrieving and then rehiding the cache. Got there in the end though.
Was an easy find after finding a few other Mr Emu caches. Nice camo.
Thanks for the cache!

Rocky Glen Grommets were visiting Victoria (Aussie MotoGP at Phillip Island) and were on their way home when they decided to do some caching - this was number 19 for today before heading along the Great Ocean Road
Visiting from Tassie and we picked up three caches in this series. We were travelling 'the wrong way', and would have had to 'take our life into our hands' (or someone else's life!), to get to the others!
Thankyou Mr Emu ... this is a great series!

Oh that defiant look in Bkj's eyes. No chance of eluding us here.7 down 4 to go. T4TCSL
A nice and easy find in the dark at about 10m from GZ, with very few muggles passing. TFTH...SL....TNLN
Love your LGC caches Mr Emu. Great idea to place nice and easy cache on that fantastic road. We really enjoy it. We did half in Mars when we arrive in Australia and the rest this week when it's almost time to lo leave. Your caches are extremely well maintain... Bravo.Bonjour from French Canadians. TFTC, SL
We have stopped here many times. Luckily not many people here today so the cache was found easily and quickly. SL TFTC
There seemed to be a lot of car traffic while we were trying to retrieve this cache, so Mr Squalid stood on the wall. That got there attention, and I was able to do what I wanted to do unnoticed! Thanks for another great view and cache.
After spending the day hiking around Cumberland River decided to do a few of these caches on my way back to my accomodation in Apollo Bay. Being from Interstate, love the idea of these quick caches at the appropriate photo stops. Will be spending several days in Lorne so intend to do the rest while staying there. TFTC
Stoped at this one on the way to Lorne, nice little DIDO.
Great views with great tidy caches, well done with the history of the area.

2010-07-03 16:16 Found on our way to Apollo Bay along with all except #12 which is currently disabled. Thanks Mr Emu.
Dad and boy standing on top of the wall here. That's a bit scary. Found cache quickly and moved on.
Well our camera came out as camoflauge as we watched a father and son walk along the wall taking photos????? We kept our 6 year old in the car(EB Nano is not to be trusted on top of walls with a major drop on the other side). We are enjoying the drive. TFTC.

Did the tour the wrong way around when heading towards Sydney. Great views but really adventurous cutting across the lane in order to get into the bays - thanks, we loved it.
Found at 16:20hrs...Took smiley face sticker....left highlighter. Love the little pens in these caches!!! TFTC!
Took the geomunchkins geocaching while the geo wife worked in Lorne for the day, fished this area many times in the past
I did this series (Except the disabled #12) in reverse order today on the way back from the Earthcaches near Port Cambell.
I had a ball with this series and by no way are any of these 'Lame'.
The scenery is fantastic. The cache locations are superb and the containers are well loved and maintained.
All in all a great series of caches on a 'Great' stretch of road.
Well done.

Found @ about 16:10. #72 for us and the second on our spontaneous Ocean Road caching trip with our honourary cacher Vossy. We luckily timed our visit between waves of muggles, as the road was busy today and these stops were popular ! A nice easy find, back to the car to do the logs and wait out a carload of happy-snappers, then returned the cache to its hide. TNLNSL and TFTC. Love this series and the kids enjoyed the decoration.
On a weekend trip down the Great Ocean road I really liked the cache series. TFTC from California
Cheers for another great view at a LGC Mr Emu Cache! Zalgariath of Sydney

Found on the trip home, picking up the ones we missed on the way down.
We saved some quotes for the trip back!
Thanks Mr Emu!

LGC #8 Found with Schatzuche and The Hunta on our way home from the Mega Event in Wagga, just a slight detour back to Adelaide but well worth the trip, great scenes and even better caches Thanks Mr Emu for all the work you have put in along this beautiful peace of coast line and this brilliant series, the detour was worth this alone. Given the effort you have put in we decided to add a little of our own. Please enjoy the photos we took using your cameras along the way.

Our fourth LGC on the way along the Great Ocean Rd towards Melbourne. We found these caches to be very enjoyable as they were always placed in lovely scenic spots.
Did this one as there was a viable parking spot for me.
Ran back and found a cache and read a bit of history.

On our way to stay at Apollo Bay for 2 nights. Well done on your cache containers and placements. Most of them are now being found by my Mother- Inlaw

Beautiful. Coords off slightly by about 8 meters in the obvious direction. Especially compared to previous caches. TFTC.
On a coastal cruise to clean up between Anglesea to Warrnambool , have not been here for a while and was great to have a look around in a caching sort of way and appreciated the LGC series and know of more cachers who have their eye on it . thank you Mr Emu
we are driving to Melbourne and my driver is not into geocaching, but thise one are just perfect, easy and quick but the are all on the other side og the road.....Thank you for making this trip even better (Denmark)
Walked from Cumberland River along the Great Ocean Road to find this one but do not recommend any one else doing this as there is very little room along the edge of the road and the sheer drops to rocks. Having said that it was great to see all this area on foot. TFTC.
Lots of muggles at this one.
Parking was a bit tight.
Thanks for the cache and the journey so far.

Found by Mary & David at 1545. The story of William Buckley has always fascinated us. hard to imagine what he went through. This rain will spoil the weekend for the campers if it continues. Yet again our thanks to Mr Emu.
Well # 8 and like others this was a popular spot but here my compass was also defiant by not pointing in the right direction. here no there but eventually the cache was located at13.25 the log was signed and off to the next. Great views here.
Find # 3158 and 25th of the day at 2:56 pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on our Great Ocean Road Trip. We had to wait for a few tourist muggle to clear before our search, TNLN, left my mark in the log, Thanx Mr Emu....
Easily our toughest find yet as there were heaps of German tourists here right near GZ and we waited until they left then carefully backed into where they had parked.
A bit easier to find after that.
A bit easier to find after that.
The 10th of 16 finds on this Valentine's Day drive with Mrs 1SR. Found at 1050. What a great idea for a series along this road. Well this one took a while to find. I couldn't see it for looking and I only got a short gap to look in between muggles. This is the most popular stop by far. TFTC
Our fifth in the series today, again we were fortunate and managed to find a car park on our side of the road only about 100 meters from the cache. We had a pleasant stroll listening to the waves as we went. With a couple of muggles around we again had to wait for a little while before we could safely grab the cache, fortunately this wasn't a problem at all as Diane thought that this was the best view that we saw today. Eventually the muggles moved on and we grabbed the cache and also our sixth FTF for the day
Thanks again Mr Emu for the cache
