The idea was for the series cute while it lasted, but to avoid any dangerous driving incidents by people trying the series in reverse order, this series has been archived.
The cache has now been removed, but I will leave the listing "live" to allow a cacher that wrote in the logbook recently the opportunity to log their visit on GC.com.
Looks like the final log before the series is removed. Thanks Mr Emu but I have to agree the location of some was a bit hairy. great locations but hard to access safely.
I have decided that the placement of these guard-rail caches along this narrow, curvy road is too dangerous.
Despite of my clear warnings on the cache page, I am concerned by logs from cachers that still attempt them from the "wrong" direction (i.e. travelling from Apollo Bay towards Torquay), which entails cutting across traffic, sometimes on blind corners. While I cannot control how people choose to drive, I do not want to be responsible for a fatality as the roads get busy over Summer.
Collection and Archiving of this cache is planned within the next month.

Thanks for all the nice caches on the GOR. We were really lucky that they hadn't been archived at the time we were there. We were also nearly alone on the road and driving in the right direction so had no problem finding and logging them safely.
Thank you, Clauphi from Germany

Had to cruise back to this one due to traffic. an easy find and with another good view.
What a clear day. We were a km away and guessing where that would get us and we thought much further. NINO TFTC
I was a bit worried this one would be difficult to find as the parking bay had two Telstra muggle vehicles and the door of the exchange was wide open, however on one was to be seen. The cache was again easily found, the fresh air and views were taken in, and we were back on the road before the reluctant caching husband could start to get antsy.
Thank you for the cache!
Thank you for the cache!
After the previous one took an age to be able to grab, this one was lovely and quick, thanks to a deserted parking bay. Nice!
Suscoe arrived here this afternoon
A few landslips being cleaned up slowed our progress today

Thanks Mr Emu

Found it - on Oct 28 already. I can confirm that these locations (most of the series) are dangerous when you are going from west to east as you have
to stop on the other side of the road, usually before curve where you cannot see what's coming towards you.

Found @ 1530 pm. Had to use great stealth to retrieve cache as Telstra workers working in nearby exchange, once cache in hand crept away to fill out log and quickly rehide TFTC SL TNLN
Rocky Glen Grommets were visiting Victoria (Aussie MotoGP at Phillip Island) and were on their way home when they decided to do some caching - this was number 21 for today - the Great Ocean Road series by Mr Emu has been terrific - a real plus for those travelling with Groms!
From now we couldn`t enjoy the view any more, because we have been on the way back and it was night... but we enjoyed it a lot driving along the Great Ocean Road, thanks.

Stayed two nights in Wye River overlooking this one. Thanks for this series.
A nice and easy find in the dark and pouring rain, with very few muggles passing. TFTH...SL....TNLN
Love your LGC caches Mr.Emu. Great idea to place nice and easy cache on that fantastic road. We really enjoy it. We did half in Mars when we arrive in Australia and the rest this week when it's almost time to lo leave. Your caches are extremely well maintain... Bravo. Bonjour from French Canadians. TFTC, SL
We have driven past here many times but today was the first time we have stopped for a look. We watched the fishermen while we retrieved the cache. SL and left a geocoin. TFTC
Missed it yesterday because there was nowhere to park the car, but staying in Wye River and returned today.
Nice quick find. TFTC

After spending the day hiking around Cumberland River decided to do a few of these caches on my way back to my accomodation in Apollo Bay. Being from Interstate, love the idea of these quick caches at the appropriate photo stops. Will be spending several days in Lorne so intend to do the rest while staying there. TFTC
TFTC Stoped at this one on the way to Lorne, nice little DIDO.
Great views with great tidy caches, well done with the history of the area.

Found @12:45 on 11/07/2010. Our first find on our family Otway caching Oddyssey. We had reached Artillery Rocks last time, so this was the chance to pick up the rest of the series. Alas, it was not to be, as we discovered, with #12 temporarily offline. There was one carload of Muggles here when we arrived on this beautiful, sunny, if a little cold winter's day. They quickly finished their photos and the coast was clear for us. TNLN, TFTC
2010-07-03 16:32 Found on our way to Apollo Bay along with all except #12 which is currently disabled. Thanks Mr Emu.
Mum goes, "Oh my reception has come back." Then Dad points out the massive phone tower next to us...
The sun is out & the water looks fine! Pity it's only 13C out today. Great signal here, no trouble logging this one!

Did the tour the wrong way around when heading towards Sydney. Great views but really adventurous cutting across the lane in order to get into the bays - thanks, we loved it.
Found at 16:40hrs. Took smiley sticker and card. Left builder man and tattoo. Many TFTC!
Took the geomunchkins geocaching while the geo wife worked in Lorne for the day
I did this series (Except the disabled #12) in reverse order today on the way back from the Earthcaches near Port Cambell.
I had a ball with this series and by no way are any of these 'Lame'.
The scenery is fantastic. The cache locations are superb and the containers are well loved and maintained.
All in all a great series of caches on a 'Great' stretch of road.
Well done.

What a great road to drive - that makes it easy to place a cache at a location worth to be visited . I really enjoyed this ride and all the nice caches that Mr. Emu placed here to complete the journey. Every stop was great and most of them breathtaking.

Found at 10.25am. Also like the colour of cache and the markings on the back of cache to show where the magnet is inside. Cheers Mr Emu.
Found on our way back from lunch at the wye store. I love the camo on these ones.
On a weekend trip down the Great Ocean road I really liked the cache series. TFTC from California
Cheers for another great view at a LGC Mr Emu Cache! Zalgariath of Sydney

#9 of 17 finds for PR today on our mission of the Great Ocean Road.
I love this part of the country, so peaceful and relaxing! With the short supply of caches in this area, I think the geohusband wouldn't mind!
Another quote was shared and we were on our way

LGC #10 Found with Schatzuche and The Hunta on our way home from the Mega Event in Wagga, just a slight detour back to Adelaide but well worth the trip, great scenes and even better caches Thanks Mr Emu for all the work you have put in along this beautiful peace of coast line and this brilliant series, the detour was worth this alone. Given the effort you have put in we decided to add a little of our own. Please enjoy the photos we took using your cameras along the way.

Our second LGC on the way along the Great Ocean Rd towards Melbourne. We found these caches to be very enjoyable as they were always placed in lovely scenic spots. This one was also pushed way too far in by the previous finder, but managed to get it out. TFTC!!!

Second time lucky. Once found #11 went back to #10 couple of days later. Loved the camoflage. TFTC
On a coastal cruise to clean up between Anglesea to Warrnambool , have not been here for a while and was great to have a look around in a caching sort of way and appreciated the LGC series and know of more cachers who have their eye on it . This is my favourite place along here - just love it . thank you Mr Emu

Found by Mary & David at 1615. Barely able to see past the guard rail now. David is quite wet. Even so, we're enjoying the series. Yet more thanks to Mr Emu.
found while on a camping trip at wye big 4 walked to this cache via the beach and rocks great spot for fishing surfing etc. love this coast.
Stopped off at the Wye River cafe for a bite to eat and drink, gee this has been updated since I was last down here. The park behind is now a Big 4. As I pulled up a large 4x4 arrived at the same time with a huge number of surf rods on the roof. As Bushfire had parked next to the cache and the fisherman was out of sight this was an easy find and return. Found this guy at 14.25 so thanks to Mr Emu for another well placed cache.
Find # 3160 and 28th of the day at 3:32 pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on our Great Ocean Road Trip Easy find after a quick but expensive stop for some cold drinks, TNLN, left my mark in the log, Thanx Mr Emu....
We were so glad we were finding the caches in the direction we were heading. Would have been a nightmare in reverse.
Just when we thought the crowds were going home another stream of traffic is returning from Apollo Bay.

The 13th of 16 finds on this Valentine's Day drive with Mrs 1SR. Found at 1120. What a great idea for a series along this road. Well the rains are here. Thankfully similar hides to the others allowed a quick dash and retrieve to fill in the log sitting in the car. Then another mad dash to return.

Our third in the series and again we agree that it would have been much easier coming the other way as again it was unsafe to pull into the parking bay so we went passed for a couple of km's and did a u-turn. By the time we got back to gz there was already another car parked there but with no one around we pulled in behind it to find that we were only three meters from the cache. A quick double check to make sure that no one was in the car or anywhere around and we grabbed the cache. We went to take some pictures of this fantastic view only to find that the batteries had gone flat in the camera and we didn't have the car charger with us. Now off to find another safe place to do a u-turn before heading back to Geelong
Thanks again Mr Emu
