As mentioned previously, I was no longer satisfied with the placement of this cache, although the views are fantastic.

Cache has now been archived.

06-Dec-10
I have considered the environmental impact of it's placement in light of the "Leave No Trace" ethic, and decided that it's due for retirement, even though relatively young.

Collection and Archiving of this cache is planned within the next month.

No way was I jumping off a cliff but I enjoyed the view.

01-Dec-10
Hey, I'm not too sure what environmental damage this would have, as its right on the road, but enjoyed the gliders. Didn't know there would be Spion Kops in Oz, thats a famous battle site in South Africa

What a great place for a cache! When we arrived here there were some muggles parked right where we wanted to search, so we had to wait for them to go. The views up here were certainly spectacular. TFTC.

What a great view. TFTC TNLN

29-Aug-10
Suscoe found the most direct route to here and it was worth it, apart from the road work needing to be done to fill in a few holes, it was fine!
Took Solider and Left Dinosaur.
No hanggliders today and there is a bit of reconstruction work happening!
TFTC Mr Emu.

Find # 1479 @ 11:00
The GPSr initially took me through the scenic route until it wanted to take me through private property. A detailed look at the map revealed another alternative which is what I should have taken in the first place. Strangely enough, even when I was on the most direct route and less than 400 metres from the cache, the GPSr wanted me to go all the way back to the private property. Nice view from Spion Kop. I knew of this location but had not been here before but have now thanks to geocaching. TNLNSL Thanks Mr. Emu!

Nice easy find as the place was desserted. After having a quick look I was about to leave when 2 guys with their hang gliders turned up so my timing was perfect. TFTC.

I went to the " edge " but there is not a snow flakes chance in hell that I would jump off it , but is a great view - thanks Mr Emu

Coin drop: Keewee - Belted Kingfisher Geocoin Bronze - Copper #11.

I retrieved this geocoin from one of my caches where prescribed environmental burning is about to get underway. Not sure when I'll get out again, so better to see the coin resume it's journey without delay.

We were rather grateful that the wind conditions were wrong today for this type of flying as it might have been hard to access this cache.
In the end we had the place to ourselves after seeing a small snake slither away on the track below.
Thanks Mr Emu for showing us this place.

Found while out with Acts2YouthGroup on a day for caching. Thanks to the change in the description which I had previously read, it was an easy drive into this one. There were a few hangliders on the ground but only a couple of muggles and so retrieval and replacement in an obvious spot was not too hard. Good views from here too, thanks Mr Emu.

Found the cache at 8.30am this morning with beanie Didn't know the hang gliding site was here

A terrific view of the ocean but no hang gliders today

This was to be my last cache for the day knowing there were others on the way home but time was against me. Would I get a record number of FTF’s in one day for me!

Knowing the way to this location was a great help as my daughter and son in law jump off this hill as often as they can to paraglide and hang glide at this and other sites down the coast and Mr Emu has been seen here on a number of occasions, I wonder!!!

I know why Team Crackers could not find their way in but they may have struggled with a large trailer on behind but then they could have walked or left it down below!

This find created a record for me as it is the first time that I have found six FTF’s in one day. That is my 68th FTF and 15th this year so 2010 has started off well. Being retired helps.

I still don’t know why nobody received a notification of these fourteen caches because if we had we would have given Team Crackers a run for their money and their record 13 FTF’s may have been less, but they were in the right spot at the right time. Congratulations.

My son in law along with four other hang gliders a few days ago took off from Winkipop and flew all the way to Apollo Bay which is a great achievement. I hear that they had a few anxious moments getting over Teddy’s Lookout just out of Lorne but they made it. They then have to be picked up and returned as this is a one way trip but they were very happy people. Hope they shouted the people who went all the way down there to retrieve them!

This was an easy find but if the wind is in the right direction for these guys just give it a miss and come back another day.

A big thank you to Mr. Emu for providing a great afternoon’s entertainment for me. Found this cache at 18.05.

We were looking forward to this one as the location sounded great but unfortunately we couldn't find a way to gz, the closest we got was just over 500 meters to be only met by closed gates and private property signs. After about 25 minutes of looking we thought that there may have been a typo in the co-ords so we headed back into town to try and get some advise on where people would launch hang gliders. Unfortunately of the two shops we could find open neither knew the exact area, having a large trailer on was making life hard in the small back streets so we decided to head off and keep an eye on this one and return another day

Notes about the access added to the description. Thanks for the feedback Team Crackers.
