We are very annoyed. We are visiting Australia from Germany and have a lot planned. This cache was one of them. Unfortunately we didn't look closely at every cache and read the previous logs. So we made the long way out here to look for a traditional on a house - maybe on a tree because of the rating. On site, only 6 m away from the cache - we had to realize that there was no chance. Then we realized that we had to go into the cliffs. But where and how?? Unfortunately there was no hint or waypoint. Only then did we translate the previous logs - without proper preparation and planning and knowing where the entrance was, we had no chance - a real shame and a long way for nothing. And an old cache that we will probably never do. Greetings from the Moorhelmi

This one has been on the caching bucket list for quite some time now, after I discovered it through Big Matt's list of best caches. A new D/T combo too? Amazing photos in the gallery? 2001? It has to be done.I had had a few friends interested in coming with me, but I struggled to find an appropriate occasion to make my way out this far. Today I visited Parsley Bay and then Milk Beach with my friend who was visiting from England. He made a comment asking if I was still caching, and if there were any amazing ones near here. Well. Actually! I proposed it and he instantly said yes. He is adventurous, and came with me when I did Fortress in the Blue Mountains, which currently takes the cake for the best cache I have done yet. Well the question is, does this one beat it? Remembering the coords for this one were over someone's house, I had to hit the map to find a way. Luckily I had a friend who told us to take Rosa's Gully down. I quickly saved the cache for offline, and thankfully I did as there was no data.Down the gully we went, and we couldn't help but wonder how many of the neighbours even knew this place existed? Traversed down not one but two sets of ropes, and entered a magical ravine with waterfalls that captured the sunlight beautifully. At the bottom the waves were coming in, but luckily not high enough. This is where we met the ladder, the highlight of the journey. After an Engineering inspection, we proclaimed "She ain't going anywhere" and made the climb. Posed for some epic pics, and made it to the top. From here it was awesome traversing the cliff track along ropes, and then a walk along a cove to the cache. We had no signal at this point, but by matching with previous photos we got to the exact place, and found the cache immediately. I must note, the cache ***Needs Maintenance. The bottom of the ammo can is falling off and the swag is leaking out. A total cache replacement is required, but do keep the OG log from 2015.*** Signed the log with a bit of an epic, and returned home. The ladder back was terrifying! Thanks for the cache. Whether it is my favourite ever, only time will tell, but its fighting for first. FP for sure. PS Someone found it yesterday!

THIS cache is one of my favourite caches of all time. True story. It has everything.First the sense of orienteering in finding an access point. Then a sense of adventure when ropes are reached to help descend further, then a sense of adrenalin when the ladders reached. Which just becomes more heightened and acute as the journey continues to count down towards gz.I had a grin ear to ear the entire time. This was seriously one of the most fun occasions I've had searching for a geocache and to think it's twenty three odd years old!I read the tide reports and came when it was low and everything went smoothly. So much fun I can't even describe. Please take my favourite points.Thank you thank you thank you!!

Staying in Sydney for a few days. We set out bright and early once again this morning. Today we primarily focused on the CBD area, the weather held up brilliantly and made the perfect day for caching. The satellite view for this cache is definitely a bit off, but obviously a T4.5 isn't going to be on someone's garage :p The size of the cliffs are mind boggling, would be an amazing thing to wake up to every morning (for only the low price of 20 million ). Overall a great experience and adventure. Thanks for the cache

Wow, this was quite the cache. I didn't do much research in preparation so i had to do some field scouting to figure my way down. Thankfully, the keywords in the prior log got me there. So I made my way down the steep gully, making sure to have solid holds when walking on the moss covered rock. Eventually got to the bottom. I started rockhopping as that's what I thought I had to do. There are sooooo many crabs that hang out down here. Eventually, I get to a spot where I have to hop across a rock that is submerged by each wave. I hop onto but am not quick enough and am soaked by the spray. Oh well, I keep hoping along until I reach a point where the ocean is absolutely decimating this natural bowl that I would have to cross. Seeing no way across without being swept out to sea, I turn around. During my oceanside rock hopping, at one point I had corned a crab into a space nearly enclosed except for a small gap in the rock. I'm there looking at him and I sh** you not a wave comes in, is pressurized through that narrow gap and shoots that crab straight at my head. Almost like neo in the matrix, I duck just in time as that crab flys over the tip of my nose at Mach speed. This may be the most cartoonist moment of my life Smile. At this point, I'm wondering the tide could possibly be this high as it's not too long after low tide. Then, when I get back to the gully, I spot the ladder ..... I'm an idiot. Up the wall and ladder I go to the narrow pathway. Super cool. It was pretty straightforward from there. That ammo can is extremely rusted I might say. Thanks a lot for a sweet adventure. This may be one of my favorite caches of all time.

Caches like this make me feel alive. 30th birthday solo trek. It took me a lot longer to work out the path than to find the cache. I was tempted to put update coords and a way point here but given the signs and strong deterrence everywhere I think its better that this spot stays secret. I took the advice of others in the logs. The words that helped me were Rose Gully, ladder. Google helped a bit too. The cache itself was an easy find after an adrenaline of the scramble over the rocks. I stood and soaked it all in a while. A little spot alone in the world for a moment. Thank you

Wow, what an adventure! I've had this on my radar for months, while being somewhat intimidated by it. But I wanted to get it eventually, for the D/T as well as it being a remarkable cache. Have certainly read lots of logs to gain knowledge before attempting. After parking the car, ducked through the fence and made my way down the path through the gully. Just one point in the descent where I had to think about how I would descend for a bit. But didn't want to hang around too long there as I was getting bitten by mosquitoes. It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon, and the gully and the sea view through the gap were stunning. The ladder was definitely the make-or-break point of the journey. It was a bit terrifying climbing up, but was very sturdy as others have said. Once I was past that, nothing was too scary. The ledges feel wider than they look in the photos.Overshot the cache by about 20m, then looked back and spotted it while I was stopping to check photos. Was very happy to spot it easily enough after the journey I'd made.Took close to an hour to get to GZ, but only about 35 minutes on the way back. I think I accidentally lost the path back up through the gully, and emerged at a different spot than I entered. Tried to ignore the people around as I crawled back through the fence.Obvious FP on this one, and it is perhaps my favourite cache to date!! Its only rival for me is another ammo cache from 2001 which is located near Mount Kosciuszko. Thanks so much for the cache.

Now THIS is a GEOCACHE Big GrinThis is one of my favourite geocaches I have done in Australia, easily in the top 5 if you are talking purely adrenalin adventure / location. It gives me memories of my other favourite coastal cache, Eves (GC2MC2J)Even the trailhead to get out to the cliff was just stunning. "Rosa Gully" felt like I wasn't in Sydney, but some other magical place with a creek running through a huge corridor of cliffs. Just awesome! There were two ropes that helped me descend through this gully, and they were well needed as the rocks were slippery from the recent rain and creek flowing through. Once I got down to the mouth of the ocean I realised that the tide was still pretty high. I managed to skirt around and see the amazing ladder that would take me to my destination, however there was a pool of water between me and the ladder. I ummed and ahhed for a while, before deciding I only really needed to take 1 step into the water to get up onto the next rock. The ocean waves weren't a problem either, they were crashing just a bit further from this pool. So I took my shoes off, crossed the pool, got up onto the next rock and put my shoes back on for the ladder. Up the wooden ladder I went, how awesome! I was then greeted by the rope line that took me along the ledge, above the ocean. This is a really nice safety net, even though it probably wasn't neccessary, I made sure to keep a hold of the rope at all times just in-case I did slip! The ground was pretty grippy though, and I made my way along the ledge. Once that section was done it was a fairly easy traverse along the coast to get to the final cache location! The cache itself was sitting out in the open, but I couldn't really find a spot where it was supposed to be hidden. So after opening it up and signing the log, I also wrote a little note (along with some other muggles, the most recent person said they almost stole it, thankfully they didn't!). I replaced the cache as best as I could, snug against the rock and out of immediate view. You will probably need to replace the ammo can at some point, as it is getting fairly close to properly deteriorating and falling apart from the salty air. A slightly amended hiding location so it is out of sight from muggles would be good too, with adjusted coordinates.A huge FAVOURITE from me. One of the best caches I have done.Thank you so much, this is why I geocache!

What a cache!!! Huge cliffs and great views. Found the entrance pretty quickly and descended down to see the ladder. Wow. Looks rickety but is actually really stable! Then you follow the rope witch isn’t as scary as it looks then hop over a few rocks do that again and scramble a bit and you’ve got the cache!! Nice! Very rusty and fragile and a bit broken but still awesome! The way back is easier as you know how. Great one! Coords are way too inland so imagine the coords are there but a bit further out towards the water. Was recommended this by kireevi and this was definitely worth the recommendation! TFTC Fav big big time!!!

I set off for my adventure at roughly 10am and parked at 11:12am on a nearby side street. This has been my 3rd attempt at the final cut, so I knew what to expect as far as the edge of the water. I love all the views of Rosa Gully, the little waterfalls and just being back in nature. I got down to the waters edge and looked up at that rope and big ladder, took some deep breaths and up I went. Getting from the top of the ladder onto the rock platform was scary and took a bit of finesse. Once I'd made it onto the rock platform it was all new territory. I expected it to be a short adventure but you actually still have quite a way to go once you're up there. I was stunned to see the GIGANTIC cactus, as well as lots of bongs and bong bits and pieces. I found the cache container and sat for quite a while reading the logs from the last 4 years and was very surprised that quite a few were from non cachers on lockdown adventures, I wrote an entire page, that was honestly quite sad. Off I trekked back to the ladder and I suddenly realized, I have to get back down. My bright purple jumper and orange leggings made me stand out quite a bit from the background and across from the ladder is a viewpoint for the general public so I did try and gather the courage while trying to wait them out. In the end, I had to say to myself "am I going to take 15 steps or am I going to be rescue helicoptered out of here" and I found the courage to get back down. This was a very much needed adventure of a lifetime and one of the oldest caches ive ever found.

With time available today, we decided to go all the way here from Mosman to collect this adventurous hide. After 1 hour of traveling by bus, finally arrived at Vaucluse. It was nearing lunch time so we had a snack at the nearby Grumpy Baker cafe before attempting this cache. Last time we had come here, we just wanted to find a regular cache so filtered out this one without knowing it's terrain. After using common sense and reading the description, and logs, we decided to find another cache nearby since 4yo geokid was also with us. But today was the day to find it.

Arrived at Rosa Gully, and quickly scouted an entrance point. It was a great hike from the very start and definitely the best hike we have had to a geocache yet. The funnest bit was the ladder which we loved climbing and then walking near the cliff edge, holding on to the rope. Soon, after 30 minutes of hiking we were at GZ without too many scratches.

We found the well camouflaged cache quickly enough, but the coords were approximately 30 meters off. Checking the other photos of the cache, and we think it may have been moved from where it had first been placed. Always great to find an old cache, especially an ammo can which are rare these days. Of course, the way back was quicker and soon the adventure was finished.

Thanks for placing this cache, and maintaining it, Ideology Geocaching. Really enjoyed finding this great geocache and would have never known this location without it. This cache certainly deserves a Fav point for the adventure. TFTC, TNLNSL.

On a overcast day we went to find this geocache. A bit of a hike accessed via the ladder and ropes but once we arrived breathtaking views were awaiting! Once of the most exciting geocaches. Hint: look for a crevasse!

With time available we gathered with the aim of getting this cache. We worked our way slowly watching the GPSr counting down and up and down as followed it towards GZ. After a while we got to the cache and a donation or two of blood along the way

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Ideology Geocaching

Awesome best cache of my trip I would say. I had this cache on my to do list and knew from reading past logs how to access it. I set off down the gully climbing down the ropes before arriving at the ladder, wow! Up i went and this is somewhat very dangerous but went along the cliff face just amazed at how cool this was. Arrived at GZ and the cache was found easily enough and thought it was pretty amazing to be one of the few to find this. Cache and contents are all good. Would recommend people doing this if visiting sydney.
Fav point added.

With a few days of not much going on in Adelaide, I was deciding what to do for the next few days. For some reason Sydney seemed like a good choice and within 6hours I was off and away. With a last minute decision came a last minute plan of what I was going to go and find and as usual it changed but still got most of what I came for. A few DT fill-ins for my next loop, high favourites and JASMAR caches I was yet to find including the oldest in Aus: Lane Cove. Day 1: I arrived in Sydney late in the evening and had booked to stay at the rocks, I got off the train at an early stop and collected a few caches in the city along my path and a few lab caches. Day 2 I was up nice and early and went for nice run along the foreshore collecting some cache from the opera house to Walsh bay, I then headed over to manly and a nice walk around the area before picking up the free hirer car collecting a few caches on my way to lane cove. I later headed north to central coast to 2 Multis I was keen to tick off before arriving back in the city suburbs for the evening. I continued driving around the suburbs collecting LGAs and that continued on for day 3 before going to Bondi for some nice walks along the rock faces and the beach. As I had to drop the car back at lunch time I headed back into the city for the afternoon to collect the rest of the caches I had missed that were possible in the time I had left.
A total of 86 finds and 37 adventure labs for the trip.

Thanks for the cache

Out today on my annual-ish Sydney eastern suburb geocaching day to grab solved puzzles and other selected gems from the region. This one has been on my to-do list for a long time but suspecting that decent block time is required to experience this properly has had me put it off. Not today though - I was keen to finally give it the time it needed and so, knowing we were in for perfect weather today, I nervously added it to the itin.

Soo glad I did. Oh. My. Garsh! This cache is absolutely EPIC!!

Ashamed to say I was not really expecting that. What can I say that has not already been recorded below ...except that IT IS ALL TRUE! That's about it from me except that this cache gets added to the [novo Hall Of Fame](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BM4Z531) list, and that's a rare thing reserved for very very special caches. TFTC, Ideology Geocaching. Absolutely fantastic!!

#5036 [13:23] i was definitelly not well informed and i expected just a bit of rock hopping here Smile the first point was to find a way down. so after some bushbashing i came back to the top and found nice obvious path down the ravine. discovered some climbing spots, it looks like nice place here! pity the weather was not too good so it was empty here. so i continued down along the sea level. after while i realized that it's probably not the right way. but where else to go? okay, head up, there was a ladder! i haven't seen it earlier, now the path is obvious. hidden via-ferrata in sydney, what a beauty Smile thanks a lot for this small adventure, i've enjoyed from the beginning to the end!

Back in Straya on a business trip and, of course, again hunting for a few caches.
Today, we (Die_Flauschis, me and 3 muggles) had a day off and used it for experiencing all the beautiful landscapes and the lifestyle of the people here. It was quite hot - above 40°C for most of the day - but we still walked a lot of kilometres and visited a few beaches and nice places along the way.
We took the ferry to Watson bay and started up North to the lighthouse. After the roundtrip, we went due south along the coast till we nearly reached bondi beach. On the way there, we visited a few caches - the highlight was "The final cut" for sure. The last few hundred metres, we took the bus to Bondi, took a swim there, grabbed something to eat and then walked on to Tamarama Beach. From there, we took the bus to coogee beach for another drink and then, at the end of the day, we took the bus back to the hotel at darling harbour. All in all, we walked 33.000 steps, found a few caches, saw beautiful places and had a lot of fun. Thanks to all the cache owners for showing us a few nice places along the way.

This cache was the highlight of the caching day. There were a few climbers around and one of them warned my colleagues about the dangers of the path - but i was already up the ladder and off to the cache. Found it after some searching. The area here is very beautiful and the path is great. Thanks for showing me this place. I'll reward this cache with a Favourite Point!

This cache has been on my bucket list for years and it was only that my geowife was doing a fishing charter with her dad that got me this Far East in Sydney. So I had time to kill and having done the research about how to best approach this cache, today was the day. I first did the other nearby cache at Diamond Bay and had a bit of a view of where I had to go. So I made my way down and up and along to GZ , where there was another challenge. How to best approach the cache? Tried one end and that didn’t work, tried the other end and it was a bit of struggle but I got the cache in the end. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) have enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches. The first planned adventure for the brand new decade was a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.

Enroute to our adventure, Australia's bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the Kosciusko region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual and rarer caches along the way. This oldie (and a few adventurous others nearby) were top of our list for our first full day in Sydney.

I love a challenge and exploring my own personal boundaries. But it seems that the older I get, the more of a wuss I become. Some sections of this exposed traverse along the slippery wet cliff edge, just a a metre or so from falling to your death, certainly tested my limits today. It was hot and muggy and I was a lather of sweat for much of the adventure - and not because it was hot and muggy.

A classic cache- worthy of a crooked favourite point. Now to go change me ol' Reg Grundies.
Thanks Ideology Geocaching

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Yesterday my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved.

Because of the late change of plans we did not have an organised list of caches to find, instead we identified caches to target on the fly. This was one of the caches we managed to visit.

Having safely completed "The Orb" geocache, we were feeling pretty well invincible and decided on an attempt on this one. Swellerfungus had recently visited this cache previously so stayed behind to mind the car while the rest of us headed off. At the bottom of the gulley we encountered a couple of climbers with their ropes and gear ready to set up for a climb up the rock walls. Another was heading down the ladder as we were about to head up.

Some stunning scenery here, with the nearby residential towers and crumbling cliffs as well as the unusual shapes carved into the cliffs by the effects of nature. After endless photos we carefully made our way along the various rocks shelves closer to GZ. None of us decided we could squeeze into the gap to retrieve the cache (too much Christmas cheer! Wink so I climbed up to the small shelf above and reached in to grab the cache.

We retraced our steps, continuing to marvel at the scenery and again take numerous photos. Definitely one of the most memorable caches I have had the opportunity to visit. TFTC

Howdy from Dallas, Texas

This was far and above all others, our favorite cache of the trip. It also found it's way into our top five favorite caches that we have ever down. We took so many pictures and videos. We'll add a couple here but more pics and video on the FaceBook page mentioned at the end of this post.

This trip was planned some time ago but we kept running into issues. So when a business trip to Asia came up I decided that an unconventional route and an extended stop-over were in order as opposed to waiting for the stars to align on a pleasure trip.

Our 2020 goals are to find all the year 2000 caches and complete 6 original FIZZY loops (loops with caches placed before April 6, 2007). No one in the world has done the latter. Only one person is at 4 loops, LISDOWNEY from Ontario, Canada. So, of course, Lane Cove and Geocache - Relocated topped the list this trip and one other south of Canberra that we found, that wasn't easy.

I had been to Australia once before for a honeymoon years ago but promptly headed off to the Hayman Islands to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef, so I didn't get to take in many of the touristy things Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, and Wollongong has to offer. This trip we fixed that anemia. The aforementioned cities played as our hub cities each night and the launching pad for the next day. Sydney was the only city that there were two overnight stays. Sadly the first day after landing we had found all the target caches that we had for Sydney, so I fixed that staying longer in Wollongong and did some epic hikes.

I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that while in Sydney a sad record-breaking day occurred. When driving out of the city toward the outback a radio announcement said that that day was the worst day in Sydney's history for the smoke covering the area from all the wildfires. It was bad, I could really feel it in my lungs. But, just an hour west and it was a beautiful nice day.

Things learned about Australia while on this trip (I know COs in Australia don't care about this stuff but we have students that like to read our logs here in the States and some creepers that obsess about us - no joke we had an event while there and showed a group of Sydney cachers our trolls) :

- Birds are so different here, all kinds and Cockatoos were like our Krackle birds as noisy as heck and everywhere.
- Kangaroos are like our dear. Cool to watch, see and eat. Yes, eat. It was on the menu one night.
- The Average Aussie drinks 96 liters of beer per year
- Highway 1 is the longest national highway in the world
- There are more kangaroos than people
- The Drop Bear was created to scare tourists
- And they love Vegemite
- Melbourne has the largest Greek population outside of Greece
- There’s a mountain named “Mt. Disappointment”
- Australia’s dingo fence is longer than the Great Wall of China
- Some of the world’s deadliest animals live here
- Australia was inhabited for at least 50 000 years before the British came
- Australia has over 10 000 beaches
- It’s the 6th largest country in the world
- The Australian Alps receive more snow than Switzerland
- Home to the largest living structure on Earth – The Great Barrier Reef
- The Kangaroo is the national animal of Australia
- Home to a larger population of camels than Egypt
- Wombat poo is square/cube-shaped so they don’t roll away. This makes it easier for them to mark their territory.
- The name ‘Australia’ comes from the Latin word ‘australis’, meaning southern
- Total Population: 24,970,200.

It seemed that I was always not around when trips to this classic cache were planned, and so this has been on my "must do" list for many years. In keeping with our sea cliffs adventure theme for 4000 finds, today was the day.
Wow what a spectacular area and quite intimidating locale'.
The trip down Rosa Gully was probably the most treacherous part of the trip, and I must say the new ladder is far more comfortable and secure than the previous effort.
Quite amazing how much of the route was rigged up, clearly the fisherman maintain the route to ensure access to the rock platforms.

My search was very much aided by B@W and Baktrak who had already been here previously, we made very quick work of this and were back at the car within an hour.
Gets a fave point for sure. Left the very apt; "GoGoGo Very Boldly GC.

In the area with PPE and B@W after finding this 8 years ago so dropped in for old times sake. We took the more-slippery northern fork down but returned via the shorter southern one. The solid new ladder is far less fearful than the slippery rotten model we trusted years ago. An awesome, challenging spot. Thanks again Ideology Geocaching.

As part of the PPE’s Sea Cliffs and 4000 finds celebration Baktrak and myself accompanied PPE for his 4001st.
We sort of remembered the way down but as Baktrak remarked he thought the gully on the south side was easier or had less slippery rocks which we verified on the way out. None the less we made it down dry to the new ladder or not so much ladder of death and around we went recalling much of the path. A faint recollection of GZ before stopping to let PPE do the honours as Baktrak and myself had previous found it.
Great to re visit.

Well wasn't this a very busy little cache today!
I came by yesterday to suss this one out, and found what I thought was a likely access point but it was raining, so thought I would come back tomorrow.
Today I arrived with my adventurously spirited Muggle nephew, who was excited to hear of a new area to explore. In his 16 years as a local had not heard of this spot. We headed in at about 10am and was surprised at how slippery Rosa Gully was. Eventually it got drier, and as we rounded the last bend, where the waves were loudest, we saw what needed to be done. Before I could say 'that looks very hard' my nephew was at the top saying 'OMG dude you have to see this!'. S0 at a very careful pace I headed up. Hanging on for dear life, I kept apologising for being such a sook! Adrenaline was at an all time high as we ventured around the cliffs. Some spots easier than others, but some were frightening to me.
Cache was found with no problem, and noted others had visited already today! They were early birds. We left the fisherman as he tried to haul in New Zealand and headed back...checking in my head all the tricky bits u knew needed navigating right up to the top of Rosa Gully!
What a cracking good cache, and as others have said...this is why we cache! Absolutely no brainer for an FP. Wish I could give it more. I will be sending a few others down from Brisbane for this one. Brilliant.

Our last cache in Australia before returning to Belgium. ‘Save the best for last’, what a nice place and great approach. Looking on a satellite map, we found where to go down. First ‘steps’ where a bit wet and slippery, but our daughter hopped down as a moutain goat Smile. So we joined here and could reach the sea without problem to start the short ‘via ferrata’ up the cliffs. Great views and the old ammobox is well found.
TFTC, a FP for this one.

Found 30/4/2019. What an epic find to notch as my first Cache in Sydney. With TeamChappyAUS at my side, we ventured down between the cliffs towards the famed Final Cut. We made a rickety ascent to reach the picturesque and precarious pathway, offering a sublime view of these rock faces. Chappy pointed out ‘The Final Cut’ before leaving me to explore the boulders and slicing rock for this legendary GC. After elatedly singing the GC, we spotted a Seal swimming past the edge of the water further down the cascading rocks. A truly memorable Cache, a wonderful reminder of how cool and innovative this community is.

This is without a doubt the best cache i have ever found. the journey to get to it was extremely enjoyable and a fun challenge. seeing all the trinkets inside the box just showed how many people from all over enjoyed this cache just as much as I did.

Hands down the best cache I’ve ever found to date. This cache took me on an amazing adventure and I would have never been to such a stunning place if it weren’t for this cache. Me and two other friends headed down into the gully and the first thing we were met with rock climbers down below and high liners suspended above. We continued on and headed around the stunning rock shelves making our way closer to the gz. After securing the cache we continued on around the rocks till we could go no further. Then we started the walk back feeling very successful.

Amazing location, Amazing container and just an all round amazing cache. Thank you for taking me to such great places. TFTC

Went for an amazing exploration today with geoket after work to find the final cut. 4.5 terrain? surprised it wasn’t a 5! It took an hour to get to this cache climbing down and across, fourtunately a lot quicker climbing back out. One of the best cache adventures ever.

This cache had been on my to do list after Dora the Explorer! completed it a while ago. She was with me today to do it again.

This was a fun cache with various challenges along the way which made the cache even more worth while. This is definitely worth a favourite point.

Thanks for this fabulous cache.

Ive had my eye on this one for quite a while and with a Saturday free today was the day.
After reading some of the previous comments to work out the entry point i hopped in the car and headed over to Vaucluse.
Because of the rain this morning i knew that the track was going to be slippery but i didnt realise just how much rain had come down.
While scrambling down the gully i was walking through small waterfalls that were coming from the cliff.
I don’t know how it is in dryer times but the stream was flowing quite nicely today.
I found the ladder at the bottom and made my way around the cliff and over boulder to the GZ.
Thanks the a clue from a previous finder i soon spied the well preserved cache and had things signed.
I had expected the trip back up the gully to be more difficult than coming down but i was happily mistaken.
An amazing old school cache with a terrain rating you wouldnt expect in a built up suburb like this.
Thanks.

Got off the bus and searched for the gully. Saw a nice track going down. Noticed a muggle and asked him if he was looking for the track, he said he was just looking around. Made my way down to the end of the gully and saw the ladder. Wow, this is exciting. Climbed up the ladder and walked along the cliff edge. Noticed they have nice climbing ropes along the wall. Then got to gz and found the cache very quickly. Thanx for showing me this place and the fun adventure. Love doing caches like this. Was a solo effort today completed at high tide. After doing this cache headed to the other one at Bondi.

An epic , epic experience. To think this cache has been here for nearly 2 decades!

I knew from previous logs that there was a very good chance that I might flake out on this. Did a bit of initial planning for the outing in the unlikely case that I got further than I initially expected, but went there with the attitude of 'well, let's see what happens'.

It's amazing what happens to the human spirit of adventure when a good-sized , classic cache is at stake!

After the Rosa Gully scramble the blood was well and truly pumping. So upon sighting the ladder , rather than filling me with dread (as I had expected) the thought of a secret and risky climb actually spurred me upward. I am not a fan of heights at all so I have no idea what possessed me! Cache Frenzy? Either way, was up like a shot and off like an obscene crab scuttling around the ledges. The sheer and craggy footrests only raised my excitement. Soon after I found I had CIH , SL, left my own souvenir 'joker' and was tearing back along the cliffs to beat the high tide.

A well-earned favourite point from me, CO . TFTC

Found with Snickersallan. This one has been on our bucket list for a while now. Finally had the guts and glory to attempt it. After a long debate and risk assessment we headed down. A couple of times we had to reassess our lack of ability, especially at the ladder. Task complete, done and dusted. Favourite awarded. TFTC

First visit here was over four years ago and after seeing all the log photos I put this on my ignore list as it looked too scary & dangerous to attempt. I have had Bluewattle nagging me ever since to go with her and I finally caved in and agreed, so early this morning she picked me up at the airport and straight to the cache location before I could bail out. Made our way down through Rosa gully and omg, seeing what we had to do to get up that ladder made us want to turn back. We debated, took a deep breath and said yes lets do it. Well all I can say is that this was well worth all the worrying, heart rate going up, the most spectular scenery on offer and finally finding the very old ammo can still in tact. Certainly a favorite point from me and well done CO for placing this cache in such an awesome location.

Solo effort straight after work I had made my plans.
Arrived at low tide and took the difficult approach down the gorge with scenes of the movie “cliffhanger” above.
Reached the ladder, if you really think about it. Oh, just “Do it”.
Followed the climbers ropes along the ledge as well, long way down. Still over a hundred metres to go too.
Truely loved the views, just breathtaking. Reached GZ, couldn’t see it until I turned around as I walked past it. Easily to miss while walking north but straight in your face when turning south.
A memorable experience, thanks Ideology Geocaching

I can say I was privileged to join Hoojar on finding his 10,000th cache today- The Final Cut! Indeed I have had the privilege of sharing many hundreds of finds with him previously too.

We met at the top and I had the eldest born son who managed to scramble down to the ladder with us, where he remained whilst we went for the cache. Up the ladder (if you think about it too much I could see trouble!) and then along the ledges carefully and around and around. Some unbelievable old ropes and spikes in places! And the history of this area must be great.

Once at GZ we made a short search before spotting the cache and Hoojar claimed the find!

You could imagine on a big swell the waves must pretty much get up to GZ which is incredible. Anyway, retraced the steps and back to the top.

A geocache find 12 years in the making!

With a trip to South Australia coming up, I had set myself the goal of reaching 10,000 finds beforehand. So many of my 'milestone' caches had been 'just another cache' on a big weekend away, I wanted to make sure that this super important milestone was different. Memorable. Something to hold proud and aloft. It required some planning, some big days, some skipped potential cache finds, and some calendar juggling, and all that was before I settled on what would be #10,000.

This cache fit the bill. A good adventure, something with a little adrenaline, something old that had stood the test of time... and then the dates lined up! I spoke to my great caching mates The Rats and steeba, and asked them to come along for the journey. Sadly only steeba could make it, he was even willing to forgo Father's Day morning at home!

And so it was that with 9,999 finds under my belt, we met at the car park first thing in the morning. A heavy rain shower had just moved through. This meant that not only was the rock wet, but there was a fair old creek flowing as well. We made our way down to the bottom, just an hour after low tide. This was probably the most slippery part of the cache, aside from GZ itself.

The base of the ladder was clear of the waves, and climbing it was easy. The ladder seemed to have been replaced somewhat recently compared to some of the older photos, and someone has also installed a rope for a handline. Mind you, the old metal bars from the higher route sure look adventurous! Steeba's young fella stayed safely at the bottom, whilst he and I made the final push to GZ. Through the Final Cut we went, headed to GZ. Everything was wet from the rain, and you could see where recent hide tides and swell had been pushing things about.

Once at a very slippery GZ we made a short search, eventually steeba turned around and spotted the cache hide, pointing me towards it. I walked a few paces and unlatched the ammo can lid, opening and signing my name for the 10,000th time, just over 12 years since I did so for the first time.

I took a moment to reflect on all of the adventures, friendships, new places and excitement that geocaching has given me. Let's hope that there are many more to come! It was then simply a matter of reversing our journey, taking many photos, and inspecting the area for Earthcache potential.

Team Chaos caches never disappoint. So many have lasted for so long, and are still among the most popular caches around. Thanks so much also to Ideology for keeping this one alive.

Special thanks to steeba for coming along with me to share in the moment.

Cheers,
Hoojar!

At the leader part we had a double thought if to continue or not... but hey! Fight u scare of heights... and there we went!

Reperio at 0900.

I can't quite remember when it was I first learned about this cache, but it was quite some time ago, and as such, it has been on my must do list of caches to find ever since. I've had this planned for a few milestones over the years, but somehow never managed to get there. Today that trend changed. Having met up with ADI and superslothsonya earlier in the day to tackle another high terrain cache nearby, they came along for the walk and and played guides having both completed it previously. Whilst everything was wet due to rain overnight, we were mindful of taking things slow, especially making our way down to below the ladder. Making our way up the ladder was fun, and we were thankful that it has been replaced in recent times from the OH&S risk of the previous one. From there, I absolutely loved the uniqueness of the cut out, and the views over the water were magnificent as well. For a wettish type of day, the day could've have been better. The water below us was pretty still, and it was only until we started to head back did we get a little sprinkle of rain. Once at GZ, the cache was spotted, log signed, and thus finally completed one of the best known and respected NSW caches around. Loved every minute of it. An easy fav. Thanks so much to my two companions for this mornings adventures.

I made a choice to find this cache as a milestone. I expected it to be a difficult journey, where I was going to be whinging.. but the trek to the geocache was so much fun and so so beautiful that I just couldn't!
I loved every bit of this cache. More than that, the company of 8 fellow cachers, equally mad as me and who knew the risk of doing this cache when the swell of waves was almost 4m, made it worth all the effort we made finding this cache. This adventure goes down in the history books for me!

I finally found the final cut, after waiting for a good opportunity to find it. Terrain wise it was not ideal, as the massive waves were constantly smashing against the rocks we had to cross. The plan for today was to attend ADI's farewell event at Cockatoo Island, then head home to put my feet up. But when ADI invited me to join a group of fellow cachers to tackle this cache to mark her #3000 milestone, how could I say no? We'd checked the tides before heading off and saw that we would have a falling tide at about mid level by the time we got there.

The keen crew of ADI, EverestHigh, MaxAdventurer, Brewmaker, The Bebes, PelDroedGwin, team BoogieRogue and myself were soon heading down into the narrow gully where we could see the angry ocean spraying over the rocks that we would have to cross to get to the ladder. After a bit of debate, we agreed to wait for the tide to fall further before making the attempt.

Having watched the swell for more than half an hour, we were all cautiously confident that we could make the crossing, just as a few large waves came crashing over the rocks. But we picked our times nicely and all made it across and up the ladder without incident. It was nice to have some ropes for parts of the narrow trail and a few of the group further back made use of them as they got covered in spray from a large wave. The going got a bit easier towards GZ and before you could blink, EverestHigh was holding up the prize. We swapped some TBs after signing the log and took a moment to enjoy the view before making the return trip. Probably wouldn't recommend this one with a high swell.

The adrenaline was still pumping after we all safely made it back from this truly epic adventure. Plenty of smiles and high fives and what a great way to farewell ADI.

That has got to be one of the scariest paths to a cache I have ever undertaken. But with 9 of us in tow (3 who had already done it before) we carefully made our way along the edge of the cliff to GZ. After we made our way to sea level, the wild swell and surf had us very wary at attempting it. But with ADI wanting this to be her milestone #3000, we waited it out for about an hour before starting the journey. And what a journey it was. I will admit that I was almost panic-stricken at times, and even though there were ropes to assist, some of still got soaked by a massive wave that crash about 30m above the ocean!

As we got closer to the cache, it became easier and I felt more relaxed. And once I had that CIH and the log book signed/stamped it was a huge relief. It was well worth the effort and we made our way back to dry land, taking all precautions with our tour leader Boogie Rogue guiding us there and back.

The views were spectacular along the coast and the force of the ocean was amazing. This is one not to be attempted alone. And probably not on a day like today. Worthy of a FP. TFTC

Found by myself on the way to the airport to pick up my sister and brother in law. Knowing they would not like to go caching, I left early and made the detour out to this very short listed cache. Parked up the top, near a playground and walked down and around to the south, looking for a way to start. Finally I found a valley thing and found a way to a picnic table with a view. Then it got a bit more obvious where to go. A lot of fun, if not a little frightening. Even ran into some locals, who knew about geocaching, but did not know there was one out here. Cache found easily, at the right angle. Covered it a bit more then how I found it. On the way out my sister called and it was time to go get them, so only one cache for the day, last one for the year (with a souvenir), but what a one it was!!
Thanks for the climb, exhilaration and cache!

My 8000th cache! I had a big day planned. There were a couple of caches i had an eye on in this area, and gathered some fellow geocachers to join me for the special occasion.
Unfortunately we took 5 hours on the first cache only to return with a DNF!
This was the second one i had in mind. So with J+J and Wilbert I found my 8000th cache with a great view!
It looked as though a muggle kid had gotten to the cache long before us as the toy swaps were placed on display in the sand surrounding the cache in plain sight.

We had looked at this a while ago to see the way and if it could be done in under an hour to return to the kids sport but rain finished that idea. The next was for a new multi but we soon discovered the original ladder of doom had collapsed. There was also some talk of going for someone's milestone but the sequence of events changed and we did not make it. So with ourselves heading for a mini milestone of 100 T4.5 in home soil in a calendar year this would be our 100th and final T4.5 for the year to go with the 100+ T5's for the year.
So this Morning we headed off to find one of the other cachers had a come down ill and pulled out but pk1965 was still up for it. We picked the correct gully and boulder hopped down to the water edge where we soon saw what was left of the old ladder. As the tide was up we had some water to cross it was shoes off and we decided it was time for bare foot pk and bare foot B@W to continue this way to GZ. Fortunately the swell was small so no issues getting to the rope to get to the base of the new ladder. PK gave the ladder a good shake and then up he went. Along the edges we went and after getting around the corner it opened up a little. We did wonder about the co ords and how far we should head up and at a certain point figured the hide would be nearby. A bit of looking in likely spots and the hide was found. We added our names to this great old cache and headed back. A few puffs getting up the last of the boulders. TFTC. A favourite point from us.

I've been wanting to do this one for a while - I had tentatively planned to do it with PDU, but he took advantage of an opportunity to grab it. Then I was going to do it as part of Canary's celebration, but had my son's birthday party that day.

So today time and tide were working in my favour, so I jumped at the chance to go and find this famous cache. Can't say I loved the climb down to the shore - tricky, slippery and weedy, but once down to the right level its just beautiful. Stopped to admire the view then a quick climb up the ladder and along.

Enjoyed the walk along the cliff line, and made it to GZ, stopping occasionally to take in the view. Spent a while looking in various spots, unable to get closer than about 20m on my GPS. Eventually spotted a very weathered ammo can and did the duties. Pausing frequently along the way back to take it all in, I also found that the climb out was a lot more enjoyable than the original descent.

Took some time whilst at GZ to remember our fallen on this special day. I'll never forget that their sacrifices give us the freedom to do what we love today.

This was the big one for the day, a suitable target for Canary's 7,000th cache find. I'd seen the GeoTalk video years ago, and didn't think it was one that I'd ever do. But here I was, parked next to a sign warming us about the danger of going too close to the cliff edge, watching bikerbuddy getting GoPros ready for us. I ended up with one mounted in a helmet.

We found the correct entry point, but part wayward second thoughts, backed out and looked for another way. We did find another way, but decided our first way looked best after all. Later on we discovered that both entrances worked - we took the longer & wetter way, the other is apparently shorter but steeper. And has a dodgy looking rope that we decided not to trust.

Finally made it to the bottom, and saw a group of rock climbers were having fun. We also saw the remains of the old ladder. We packed up the cameras. For me, the weight of the one on my head was affecting my balance, and I wanted good balance for where we were headed. Canary went up first, followed by me, Canary Junior and then bikerbuddy. Getting up here had been my fear before we got here, but the new ladder made it easier than expected.

Then came the walk around the ledge, that was fine, only one bit that needs a lot of care. I didn't have my GPS on me, so had to trust that Canary knew where he was going. Surprisingly, given the interference from the rocks, his was fairly accurate, and got us to the right area to search. We actually weren't depending on it, we just went out to where seemed the right place to go.

A long search followed, when I turned around at the right spot and saw the cache. Instead of going in to retrieve, we called Canary back from where he'd climbed down to fetch an errant hat, and left it to him to open the ammo can.

This was an exhilarating experience that I never expected to do. Thanks for asking us along today Canary, it was great to share another milestone.

Thanks Smile

7000!!!

A truly epic cache that I never though I would be able to do let alone comfortably!?!

But time and hard work made this a target for my milestone and invited a few caching friends who hadn't found this. Toriaz, bikerbuddy and my youngest son joined me for the descent after a few false starts and confirmation of the right path.

Once the wet green growth was passed it was time for some boulder hopping all the way down to find a group of rock climbers in the right. We went left up the new ladder. I'm so glad it continues past the top of the ledge as this was my second most feared part!?!

Soon we were making our way along the ledges, over more rocks and arriving near the listed coordinates. I went to far, which help me get my hat that blew off, and explored too low while luckily Toriaz made the find.

I reclined back so we could retrieve the container and sign the log book before admiring the view.

Then it was time to return along the ledge to the ladder. Getting back on was my most feared part!?! But with the new ladder it was really easy and I was soon at the bottom reflecting and posting the obligatory Facebook post!!!

A short if strenuous ascent and we were back at the car feeling worthy!!!

This is a cache I never imagined doing. I knew about it. It was an older cache and it had a reputation. There were pictures and videos that made the nature of the cache fairly clear. This would be a little more extreme than your average nano under a seat.

But we live in the mountains and I hate city traffic. I’ve been in this area only a couple of times for caching. Besides, did I really need to do The Final Cut? Was I that crazy?

Canary is.

And he had his 7000 milestone cache coming up. He wanted to do this one, and he wanted company. I thought about it and decided it couldn’t be worse than some of the caving I used to do, so we agreed to accompany him. I charged up the Go-Pro cameras the day before and then today we headed into Sydney in Canary’s car. After finding three caches prior to this to bring Canary to his 7000, we finally faced the Cut in the latter part of the afternoon. We mounted the cameras and started into the gully but only got as far as the first drop. Then Canary had a moment of doubt and wanted to try another gully. I recognised the gully from the videos, but we returned to the top nevertheless, just to be sure. Then we were sure, so we returned to the gully I had been sure about and made the descent.

There were rock climbers doing their thing when we arrived below the ladder. At this point I decided it would be better not to have Canary’s son with a chest mounted Go-Pro climbing the ladder and I suggested to Toriaz she remove the head mounted one. I filmed the Canaries and Toriaz from below, then I made my ascent.

Ascending the ladder was okay. I didn’t like the passage along the cliff, however. I was carrying a backpack with water and all the camera equipment, which made edging around one thing section just a little hairier. The waved were a bit larger than I think we anticipated, also. Once we got past that walkway things were more normal. Rock scrambling here and there and walking beneath the cliffs with what we assumed was GZ in sight.

When we got there we searched about for a bit but couldn’t find the cache. We wondered if we were in the right spot. Then Canary’s hat blew off and he chased it down the boulders to the beach below. Meanwhile, Toriaz made the find and we waited for Canary to return to claim the cache.

Going back seemed easier. The horse returning to the stables. We knew what to expect, and everyone got down safely. Now all I have to do is look at the footage and see if there’s anything worth looking at.

Thanks for a great – if at times a little unnerving – adventure.
