I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
They couldn't find this cache even with 4 eyes. The owner should take a look.
Cache needs maintenance, may have gone missing, was unable to visit over Xmas/New Year so will try to sort out in the next few months. Thank you for your patience.
There has been a few DNFs, I will be visiting the site prior to Xmas to check.
In the mean time if cachers provide a photo as proof of being there that will be classed as a Found.

Something dead nearby. No luck finding this one. Not a fan of these flax bushes we'd have to say.
Had a really good look around and used a stick to clear debris. No luck for me this time.
Time for a wee family summers holiday; Kaikoura, Picton and Nelson.
Time for a mornings family bike ride...decided to head out along the Kanuka track to 'The Snout'. As we were biking in the last bit I noticed some walkers coming....uh-oh.....arrived at the snout just as some walkers left....had about 10min of rushed searching before two lots of walkers arrived....dang. Didn't find the cache, gave it a good nudge. Either missing (unlikely?) or overlooked it in all the detritus.....another day. That was a fun bike!

#7 today! Beautiful spot for a break after biking the Snout track. A bit gusty today, but a still well worth the ride.
Lovely walk, though we realised we went on MTB only path. Got to see 3 interislander ferries throughout the walk and had a lovely picnic here. A bit hard with muggles but doable. TFTC
Out here on Valentine's day with Battlebarbie. We walked the bike track with lots of great views, and hidden bays. Awesome day!
As soon as we got here the inter islander went by.
Sat down and had a well earned rest.
Sat down and had a well earned rest.
So excited we made it out to The Snout and back...including some side tracks!
Was a bit of a mish at times..
Feeling a bit weary now...but relaxing back at our accommodation after late dinner and a shower.
Thanks for all the COs who made the trail of caches out to here...plus of course this one at the end!
Nice to sit down and have some coffee and a date bar while watching the ferry and the boats go by....

Sitting there watching the beautiful view. And than i thought, would be a nice cache spot. So i checked and now one more logg! TFTC.
Started in this track quite late... Got to the edge at 8pm to watch the last glimpses of the sun. What a view!!

Nice and easy to find. Beautiful day for a walk, although a bit muddy. But what a great spot! TFTC
Muggles around so couldn’t open up and sign log book bit very cool walk. A bit wet and slippery today
I arrived at the snout to find a muggle sitting too close to GZ to allow me to search so went to sit out at the point for a rest while I waited. Was only sitting there a couple of minutes when the ground started to shudder followed by the unmistakable throb of the interislander ferry engine from Picton. Watched it for a while then the way was clear to quickly find and sign the log before the next muggle arrived. Thanks stayonmytail

Goodness, long hike, and I made the mistake of not bringing water. Had to abort this mission at Queen Charlotte View.
Found by leader John S and with Gpetone on a HVTC walk, the start of a ten day club walk and ride trip in Picton, Murchison and Reefton. TFTC.
Quick find after nice walk. Good to know my blisters from the Milford Track last week all good now. Just got to walk back
Wooohoooo, we made it!! The view is spectacular and we were even able to take a bath in this freezing cold water!
Thank you veeeery much for that cache!

Stunning, just stunning.
Great views!
Loved the walk, once here we went down to the water, it was a bit slippery but well worth it!
Great spot for a picnic.

For two years Miss 7 has wanted to walk the Snout Track. With perfect May weather today was the day. A stunning day here in Picton and plenty of visitors wandering around the tracks in Victoria Domain. The cache we have been waiting for! What a spot, what a view! Even managed to grab the cache without too many prying eyes noticing. TFTC + 1 from us

We arrived here for the day (caching with hubby Jratzlaf) on the Celebrity Solstice. I had researched the area and wanted to hike to the Snout, so along with our son, we headed out. 12 miles or so later, we are back on the ship, exhausted but very happy to say we made it and loved it! Great hike! Hubby grabbed the cache from its safe hiding spot and, as he mentioned, we survived the wind long enough to sign the log. Thanks for giving us a reason to come to this spot!! Pic from from nearby the cache.
#6971: We made the hike all the way out to the cache from the stop where the bus dropped us off from our cruise ship. Round trip it was about 12 miles, and I am now exhausted! But it was a great hike, the weather was perfect, the views were great, and we found this cache! The only negative was the ridiculous wind that greeted us once we arrived at the Snout. TFTC!

After a long walk, found this one quickly.

Wonderful early morning run with the dawn chorus. Only had time to grab this cache, no time to find the rest, but finding this one was perfect. Lovely location! Will be back to grab the rest.
A quick find at the end of the nose.

I was with Kiwimykl when he found (or more accurately replaced) this cache in February 2015. Two days later I created my own geocaching account. In 2016 I came back to log it, but despite looking for over 20 minutes, could not find it. Today we tried again and found it within seconds of starting our search. It is now located at the base directly behind the memorial stone.
Glad to have finally converted this one to a smiley face.

Last night in Picton for our family holiday and with the kids in bed kapitikid decides that we should go for a walk to Pig Point.
Sounds great except that kapitikid and her brother are all rather fitter than Mr NZT but theres caches here so off we go.
The pace is increased and the only relief for Mr NZT is the stop to look for caches on the way.
Although kapitikids brother did say he never thought hed see Mr NZT run
Easy find at GZ and time to stop for some great photos!

We have eyed this cache a number of times, but usually when we have not had enough time for the walk. The advantage of delaying is that it was one of a number we could find today. Sadly, the wind at the pig's nose was too cool for a long stay today so we turned back soon after signing the log - and taking a few photos.
Thanks for the reason for a good walk today.

My first short walk on the south Island brought me to the Snout. Unfortunately, there were heaps of German muggles around, but nothing against having a rest here - such a nice place! After they had finally left, I could retrieve the container, sign the log and put everything back in place.
Thanks a lot stayonmytail for the hide in this great place!

Out for an evening walk with Maike from Maikenkids without both our kids in tow and off course on a caching mission to clear these last few in Picton.
Relief to get to the end of the track and well worth it, what a spot. Quick find here as per the hint. tftc

So good to make it all the way to the end of the Snout for the first time in years, as it's just too far for the legs of our little ones to go. Weirdly, just after locating the cache and preparing to sign, a drone which initially sounded like a whole lot of bees emerged from over the bush and hovered over us for ages. Was it filming us? It stuck around for quite a while before buzzing back to wherever it came from. Mysterious.
We had a lovely walk today, and your cache gave me motivation to get here! TFTC!
.....my wife made me walk out here today.
DIVORCE PENDING.
lol!!!.
Tftc , Awesome views and a welcome rest! QEF.

After walking from our motel on Waikawa Road and breakfast in Picton our main goal today off walking from Picton to the end of The Snout Trail. Well we reached our objective and in the end completed six hours of walking and just over 20 kilmetres by the time we arrived back at our motel. Along the way we have had some stunning views but this surpassed them all. The cache was found quickly thanks to the hint and luckily the few muggles that were here were more interested in the view as well. TFTC
Made a walk to Snout View this morning before driving on to Nelson. Great spot here, thanks for this cache.

Timed or visit perfectly, with people leaving and arriving as we were doing the opposite. Moody weather out here today, with occasional showers all the way through the trip.
Thanks for placing, well worth the walk out here

Found in large flax to the left of memorial so returned it to original location as per hint. No Tb as indicated, where has he Gone? Tftc, now for the uphill climb out of here!!
I was with Kiwimykl when he replaced this cache on the15th of February 2015, and two days later I signed up as a geocacher so I didn't find the cache. Today I wanted to rectify that however after 20 minutes of fruitless searching we came to the conclusion that the previous finder hid it too well.
Maybe another time.

Found with no problem, very nice surroundings. What a wonderful place!
The cache was just dropped in bush so we tried to hide it according to hint again.
Thank you for the cache and greetings from two Czechs!

Another caching Sunday with jojo and today's focus was 'the Snout' at Picton. Have to admit have never walked this before so thanks to all the COs for tempting us this way.
Crowded at the nose today. Waited a wee while to make the grab but QEF once a few people had moved on. TFTC

We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun but no luck today. Sigh. Thanks for placing the cache.
Found after a long walk from picton what an awesome place to place a cache and another one that caching is responsible for bringing me to TFTC no traveling bug in cache
This track was our main mission for the day plus the caches along it. Despite all the shade along the track it was still a very warm walk, and in parts quite slippery after the recent rain. The breeze when we got here was very welcome. There is no TB in the cache.
Thank you stayonmytail.
Thank you stayonmytail.
The autumn day had a very distinct summer feeling and our generous rations of drinking water were well used. We enjoyed the walk and the spectacular views on the way. Thank you stayonmytail
A great walk on a sunny Saturday. Beautiful views and the added bonus of a pretty geocoin. We are near the end of a fabulous trip to NZ and will take 'Beautiful Compass' back to the UK. TFTC. Happy geocaching and safe travels.
Windy up here, but beautiful view! Traded trackables. HuiBuh out, the Beautiful compass rose in.
We have been on a road trip trough New Zealand for 25 days. Today we walked to the Snout. Of course we also looked for some geocaches.
Thanks for the cache
