The cache has gone missing, however I will not be replacing it. As the cemetery expands changing conditions in the graveyard will make this particular puzzle difficult to work out. It will be replaced with something else. Thanks to all those who had a go at this.
I did a cache check yesterday. The cache is gone. I will leave it offline while I decide what to do with it.
Jeez, I thought it was a cross. I was not going to the right grave at all, lol. No worries; in the end I found it. Unfortunately is was jammed quite low into its hiding spot, so I had to do a little damage to get it free (tweezers didn't work!). They did work (very well, as usual) at extracting the log however. Thanks for an excellent couple of caches!
Having completed and saving information from Gravesend 1 two weeks ago needing a multi for the GC Mission #2. When it was discovered that the GC Mission #3 needed to be a mystery this became my target.
My jaunt into Springwood ended with a trifecta in a Mystery, Multi & Traditional for the day.
Having parked my geo-mobile I made my way to the logical point when connecting my previous visit plot on the chart for this cache. From there I spied my logical WP1. Confirming my suspicions when arriving at that point. From there it was a logical point to move to for GZ. After a poke and a prod and a feel here and there the hide was located but the cache couldn't be retrieved. A walk back to the car to get a magnetic TOTT sorted my problem out. With the cache retrieved and log signed it was replaced as found.

awarding a favorite for the combination and enjoyable conclusion to Gravesend 1 & 2

Got instructions from gravesend 1. Found new grave, and easy to guess where 21 metres away would be. Signed and replaced. Fav point.
After plotting the points and going to the "obvious WP1", then projecting the bearing using the sun and the analogue watch that I don't bother to wear anymore, we walked to the most likely spot for GZ AND COULDN'T FIND THE CACHE. Oh no, where did I go wrong? We re-checked our calculations, still got the same result. GeoSue had another look, yes there it was - hiding in the corner, so to speak. TFTC
#587 after previously finding Gravesend 1 and this cache was off-line noticed that the cache had been replaced so thought I would grab this one while up in the mountains to complete the cemetary caches. Remembered where I needed to start and took a stroll using my shape that I got without joining the dots the cache was wll hidden when I got there. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache bikerbuddy.
I replaced the cache this morning. It's a silver bison tube. Please replace the natural camo if you find it.
I did a cache check and the cache is gone. I intend to replace the cache by the end of the school holidays. Eventually the cache will have to be archived due to changes in the graveyard which will affect the puzzle , but until that happens, the cache still has a bit more life in it.
This was the second find we grabbed on a quick trip up to Springwood, obviously having already found Gravesend 1.
I sat down with the sheet I had taken from Gravesend 1, and traced lines between the dots I scrawled on the map on the paper. In all honesty I had absolutely no clue what the 'shape' was supposed to be, so I made a quick PAF to Team Canary, who found this cache some 5 years ago now. He vaguely remembered what the cache was about and after a minute or two he explained to me what I needed to do.
I ended up near quite the impressive grave and nearby was the cache tucked away.
TFTC bikerbuddy, a good couple of caches here.

My mother has Alzheimers and current advice to keep it at bay is to do NEW things...not necessarily do things that exercise your mind, (because I do cryptic crosswords regularly and have for 20 years) but new and different things. That said...(OMG! Am I about to write a bikerbuddy-style log?!)
I'm spending these holidays concentrating on Multis. Exercising my mind with some new skills. I find the work involved fun - frustratingly so at times. I love the checking and rechecking, inputting coords into devices and thinking What the#?@*!...then checking info for errors.
This one was a whole lot of head-scratching fun! The kids were keen to come along to finish this one, but ended up riding their bikes around the grounds of the cemetery. I had the map from G1, (which itself was fun), and the arrow looked good and pointed to the right place. It just took about 20 minutes for me to realise that E was not the penultimate point for ultimate calculation. Once that was sorted out, I made the find.
The logs was good and dry, but the plastic zip-lock bag was "compromised" by dirt and a bug or two...so I replaced it. I have spares of everything in the Yesmobile.
Thanx bikerbuddy...you have yourself another favourite point.

Elata1, Felix the spy and I found Gravesend 1 yesterday and grabbed one of the last few worksheets there. It was getting dark so I didn't get around to plotting and joining the dots until this morning. I had been sceptical that 6 points could clearly indicate the correct target, and the target after that, but indeed they did. I guessed in advance at the error being made by those getting fixated on the stump, or finding the distance to the cache wrong, and turned out to have guessed correctly. Felix and I rode our bikes down the fire trail to the cemetery and Arwen21 and Tara followed on foot as a light rain fell. The distance to the cache was exactly as stated when Felix the spy plucked it from its hide, and the girls hailed us just as he was finding it, so we entered their names into the logbook too. Thanks for the cache!
Found this fairly straight forward after reading the instructions a few times with completed map in hand and staring at the map for a bit.
I have always loved old graveyards, very good for keeping life in perspective.
Thanks Bikerbuddy

I was in the area and thought I'd have another crack at this cache. By this point I had lost the info from Gravesend 1, but remember where I was looking before.
I found the cache at a distance three times stated from the info sheet.
Overall a challenging puzzle, but a bit ambiguous for the instructions.
Thanks for the cache.

Gravesend 1 was completed well over a year ago with the find of a straying ammo can. All the relevant details were taken and the grid completed but unsure, back then, whether 2 was still good to go, the plotting was put aside ... and eventually slipped from mind.
A look at the GeoMap this morn, a find of the original notes, and the afternoon found the fungus wandering the gravestones. Well aware of a previous logger mention of the no success at the tree stump it was disconcerting that the Garmin, on three 170/21 inputs, each time took one to ... the tree stump. Stumped, I left.

It was there after all, thanks for checking bikerbuddy We were heading in the right direction but not far enough and became focused on the tree stump in error. Thanks for bringing us to our local graveyard. We hadn't been here previously despite living in the area for 8 years and it has been interesting and humbling.
After two DNFs I decided to check this cache on the way to work. It's still there in its original position as I hid it, so all is good.
This was a fun series. I followed the instructions which led me to apn obvious hiding place.
Hmmm not there. Check around some other nearby places yet nothing to show.

Tried to follow up on Gravesend 1 but alas no joy, bumped into noodles22 who also failed to find it. I'll check in with Bikerbuddy to see if it is likely to be missing (or we've just missed it). Thought we had the likely place, sigh.
Hadn't planned to do any caching today, but couldn't resist .....after doing the nearby brudda/sista/whateva rello Multi. we felt we should go for this one too.
an easy find after being lazy near the final bit, and a bit of self education on projection, an easy find.

If only we'd read more carefully!! Once we put ourselves beside the right grave we had no trouble! TFTC
This set was a lot of fun and had us scratching our heads but we got it in the end. This was a well thought out cache that had something for everyone.
Now that Gravesend 1 has been re-activated, it's now possible to search for this cache again. So, back online!
I've disabled this cache for the moment since I have had to take its companion cache off line. I might use this time to give it a new container. Back shortly, I hope.
I saw the Needs Maintenance request from muninjitsu. Coordinates for Unknown caches do not have to reflect where the cache is actually hidden.
Found with mchylins. This is the 23rd day of my streak
This was amazingly well thought out!!! So much fun my first mystery cache and I was not disappointed! Deserving of a favorite point.

We enjoyed Gravesend 1 and were keen to get started on Gravesend 2 the next day. Well thought out series. It would be nice to see a Gravesend 3!
Just like the first one, I'll be adding +1 favorite point.

Had been in the midst of the workings out of this cache but didn't get to come find it. Initially muggled out so we went to another nearby cache and came back. Came out this way for a GCA moveable we discovered had already been moved.

After following the clues found in Gravesend 1 cache yesterday I found myself about 20 metres short of GZ today. I had to go a little further than the directions indicated. I found the cache lying on the ground in the open near where it should have been camouflaged. I figured out where it should have been and restored the camouflage to its original state. Will be back to find again soon with azazzlenic. TFTC.
I'm long, long overdue in travelling to GZ to look for this geocache, having collected all the necessary information long ago.
The need to rescue a stranded GCA Leap Frog prompted me, however, and I walked to the indicated place on a beautiful autumn day, with almost no one around except for a couple of golfers over the fence.
At first I was horrified at the state of the cache 'covering' but quickly learned that it was just doing its job properly, keeping the main container and the contents nice and dry.
TNLNSL.
Many thanks to bikerbuddy for another of his always interesting and challenging caches! I'm now an expert on Springwood Cemetery!

We worked out and found this cache straight after finding Gravesend #1. We enjoyed linking the two together. It was not raining and a Saturday so we had to be careful of muggles - quite a few around this spot for us today. Another great cache!
Found this cache after following the clues found in finding Gravesend 1. Again, C&T Cachebandits helped with the clues. But, this time I found it! Great work us!!
We enjoyed Gravesend 1. We got to the spot, but had trouble projecting from there. Rain and hunger drove us to abandon this one for another day
Found by neo and monii after gravesend 1. Excellent hunt had a lot of fun. Can be awkward dodging mourning muggles paying their respects but still, definate big Ty to the hidden bikerboy sl tftc!
I actually had trouble with this cache as I couldn't make out some simple instructions. I had to call the owner of the cache for some help when lucky for me, they were a few minutes away from this location. They then join me to "point" me in the right direction. It was quite simple in the end, I for some reason made it more difficult than it needed to be. I got to GZ to make the cache retrieval again more difficult for a simple hide. How silly of me!!Thanks to bikerbuddy for the help. TFTC

Finally got out to physically log the cache.
Interesting area.
Thanks.

We completed Gravesend 1, then went for a Subway lunch, and whilst eating a 6inch roast chicken on wholemeal bread, I put some dots on the grid and connected them up. Ah - this could be useful.... We went back to the graveyard, and found a 'new' place, then plugged in a projected waypoint. Walked to it, and found it quickly. SL, TFTC! VK2GOM - Rob & Jess
having a competition out of us team zawadzki and finders 4 we managed to beat them TFTC
Retrieved clue from previous cache and wondered if we were up to it [?]
Headed back to the mentioned grave and figured out where else we had to go, then we had to figure out how to use the sight and go feature on the new GPS. After this had cache in hand quickly while everyone else was still miles away.

Coordinates changed from:
S 33° 41.281 E 150° 34.553
Coordinates changed to:
S 33° 41.250 E 150° 34.530
Distance from original: 221.6 feet or 67.5 meters.
I've just changed the coordinates, even though the listed coordinates are bogus, because someone pointed out that you can't see Gravesend 1 on the map, because they both had the same coordinates at the car park. Apart from that, nothing has changed

Despite this being my geohubby's cache, I had never been here and apart from a few comments back when he put it together, I knew nothing about the actual site. So when he decided to check it today, I had to use my geoskills and find it first. All is well!
Thought this one would be simple after Gravesend 1, but it was sneaky. Found all the clues easily, just got fooled by a well disguised cache at first. But we persevered & eventually found it. After I sent husband home to fetch a compass to check we had the right bearing .
At Gravesend 1 we parked ourselves on a nice rock and used the thoughtfully provided clue sheet to work out what to do. We then wandered back to the deduced location and shortly thereafter had the cache in hand. Nice one. Picked up the Ladybird coin.
What a great treak finding all the clues. Took nil Left "Happy Caching - Ladybird Geocoin" for the next cacher. TFTC Bikerbuddy
Took NickoHeap to check his cache this afternoon, so I thought I'd drop in on this one. All is fine.
A nice quick one following Gravesend 1! Thanks for the printout in the 1st cache, we would have been snookered otherwise, as we hadn't looked at the online instructions for #2 before we went. An excellent combination. TFTC. Our 13th.
We sat in the car and followed the instructions to locate the cache. With that completed and us thinking we knew what to do we headed off. The council workers were keeping an eye on us as we moved in the required direction but some trees and bushes blocked the view between us. After a bit of searching without luck, some of the previous log were consulted in an attempt to work this one out.
Not wanting to go back to the first cache, once we read that there was a photo in it that helped, JABs had mentioned a location to start with but it was dismissed. In the end it proved to be the right place and the log was signed.

Ok with a couple of council workers watch out every move we headed over towards the noted location. After alot of searching around the wrong location's I played a hunch and mixed some numbers to come up trumps. Just out of sight of those nearby.

After Gravesend 1 we thought this would be a quick cache to end the day seeing that we were in the right place anyway.
We were under the pump due to the diminishing day light - we found it - YAY!
But had I been on my own it would have been pretty touch and go - geohusbands do have such redeeming qualities.

after much wandering around from not reading the clues properly we sat down and discovered what we were supposed to do & lo n behold there be the cache! TFTC
Great Cache, really liked this one as I lived around the corner for the first 19 years of my life. So very familiar territory. TFTC
Left home thinking we would just find "Gravesend 1" and come back for this later as we onlt had limited time while the eldest was at soccer training.
With time on our side we tried to decode the clues in the "Gravesend 1" and were left dumbfounded. The hint on this page would have helped!?!
Eventually we decided to look for the picture in the "Gravesend 1" logbook.
Then it was an easy find.
Maybe this should be how to find it without the grid?!?

After doing what was required, it did not make sense to us. I should also have taken better notice of what was in the logbook of the companion cache too, would have saved me a return visit to have another look. I phoned back to the rest of the family the name we were looking for, the wife knew exactly where that was, so I told them to meet me there.
Once we got there, it was an easy find for the youngest.
If we had not already seen the grave we needed earlier, we never would have figured this one out ;-(

When setting up this cache I originally included 40 worksheets with the map/grid overlay and the instructions in Gravesend 1. However, Geocaching requirements meant I had to put the map online and have a permanent set of instructions remain in the cache. I have done that, but I thought I might as well leave the original printed out instructions with map in the cache as well. Feel free to use one. Just be aware, that as time goes on I won't be restocking the sheets, so you would be advised to print the map as instructed in the cache description if there have been a number of finds.
