With the hint we narrowed down on this quickly enough.A trip to Oberon with sacada and family for the weekend. It has been a long time since I was in the area and a nice drive through the scenic and slightly chillier location! Enjoyable to explore the area through caching and pick up a few of the recently solved puzzles, and other caches as we passed. Thanks for your cache!

Oops its definitely not a road. I drove down here as it looked as if others had and the path got narrower and narrower I should have read the description and i walked the rest of the way. I wonder how busy this spot gets on weekends?Out for a quick cache run today. Started the day with a bacon and egg roll from mama snows at tarana (with a vanilla slice for later).Weather was cool with a chill to the air, but the GPS was working well.No weirdos spotted today. Clearing up this little section of the map. All caches found in decent order. Thankyou for placing these ones.TFTC

Thanks for the cache in a beautiful area!

Last minute decision to go camping for the night saw fitzy_1965 to the Oberon area to clean up some caching we had missed or DNF'd previously.

This was one that we had DNF'd previously only because we couldn't find an access. Much more successful today....beautiful walk in and after a short searched the unloved cache was found!

15,695. Found during a caching run with minniek.

After camping down at Bummaroo Ford overnight on a short geocaching/camping getaway, we quickly packed up the car and headed up this way for some leisurely caching - filling in some gaps on the map and/or trying to knock off some previous DNFs. This was the next stop for the day, and having previously tried to find the right access but failing just over a year ago, today we actually read the instructions (Lol), parked, and walked in for the find. Took a few minutes as I made it about 9m out, but knowing the clue narrowed down the search spots. Signed the log, noted the unloved, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks to all the COs of the caches !!

TNLN - TFTC !!

What to do today, kayak - bit windy and supposed to get stronger later, sun is shining what about a bike ride! packed a picnic lunch and headed out to Oberon as I've wanted to do this rail trail for a while since I picked up 136 last year in fact. It took a little while for my muscles to realise I was riding for a change . foolishly I forgot the aeroguard and the flies took shameless advantage of that. I was also keeping a wary eye out for swooping magpies, but luckily their babies had grown up enough to fly off when I approached rather than needing protection. TFTC

Found with Orrsome86 and my eldest son while touring the area. Our goals for the day were to find a new reviewer, get a decent amount of altitude sickness challenge qualifying caches and then get home. First we packed up the tent and said our farewells to our fellow campers, then we found the reviewer in a multi, did a few walks, a few of the road less traveled, a visit to Oberon, then more of the road less traveled and finally headed home. It was a wet morning with light showers most of the time. Finally when we started heading home the day dried up and we were stuck in the car for hours, me with soaked feet. In the end we did everything, we only need one more reviewer and should now have enough total altitude after finding forty five caches in one day, a new personal record.
My son got a ride on my shoulders, so I was very tired.
Thanks for the refreshing walk and the cache!

03-Oct-16
After packing up the tent before the rain arrived we set off to try and find enough caches to qualify for The NSW Altitude Sickness Challenge as well as find a cache published by a unique reviewer. All up we found 45 caches for the day before heading back home. TFTC.

28-Sep-16
Continuing along the bike trail we hauled up at GZ. As it was a micro it was left up to Tronador and Lady Altaire to seek out - which they did eventually.

28-Sep-16
Another nice shady spot to stop and enjoy the trail. The cache was not found at the listed coords but rather directly opposite to where the arrow pointed. Thats a big micro, they grow them large out here. Nice hide.

28-Jun-15
Parked at the northern end and walked back with the kids (ages 3 and 1) and geowife. The 1 year old walked the 800m each way by herself. What a gun! Beautiful winter day - not a cloud in the sky and a lovely walk - a little on the cool side but beggars can't be choosers! Cache and log in great condition. TNLN TFTC

25-Jan-15
A nice walk but the search took way too long. I found it after the kids had given up, about 15 metres from the listed coordinates.

Found on the way home from work. Took about 10 minutes to find as i kept on expanding my search radius, eventually located cache about 12m from posted GZ. TFTC. (230)

31-Jul-13
Here a few weeks back with a DNF. A later read of the Logs (and the Hint), and a day within the area on a Caching day. Approached this time from Black Bullock Rd in a crisp but nice Winter's day. And Grrr (after the time spent previously), a hand upon the Cache at first seek. Well hidden, in its position, still no reason not to be found. TFTC Smile

22-Jul-13
Can see why confusion is present here, without a read back through logs, I doubt we would have persisted enough for the find Smile

Thankyou Dusselaar1 ....Love these old disused railways.

Found with kieran6 & the rest of the 'Geofam'.

07-Jul-13
Looked hard but couldn't find it anywhere. Enjoyed the walk.

06-Jun-13
We looked and looked for this one, Looked at the hint and still looked and looked.

06-Jun-13
Not so much Take a Seat, it did seem a case of Take(n) a Cache. A thorough seek (with hint in mind) produced little bar a respect for barbed wire. A pleasant walk along the track made up for this DNF.

Lookede simular to another location on the bike track! Had the feeling that this nice track is not used regular? It would be a shame!

Did this cache and the others along the bike trail with Justjessie and Mrs O319.. TFTC

28-Nov-11
Took a bit of a convuleted path to this cache due to someone effort not to walk!
We eventually had to walk a bit along the brand new bike path. Along with the path was a new fence as well. We spent a bit of time looking here until Pprass looked in the right place.
Thanks, Robmc.

15:10
The third day of our discover the Blue Mountains expedition with Pprass and Robmc - today the focus is on the Oberon area.
We were determined to get as close as possible by geovehicle, so some interesting Cachers4x4 access down a steep hill in a logged pine coup was employed. On arrival at the cache site the search began; and then ended when the cache was found with the satellites having the GZ some 10m south east of the cache.
We found the hint to be misleading as a new star picket fence has been installed along the bike trail.

TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Dusselaar1 (& Tablelands Cachers).

Feedback to CO: Whilst we are not fans of micro's in the bush, we believe that if you are going to place that sort of cache in such locations, then you really do need to make sure the co-ords are as accurate as possible.

28-Nov-11
Found at 3:12:31 PM GAFF3 in the company of Phetlern and Robmc. We made an interesting approach to this cache - not sure if it was the recommended way, but we had a bit of fun. At GZ we could not find anything for a while as the co-ords are about 10 metres out and take you closer to another fence if not the seat. And then we still had trouble in locating the good hide.
Thanks Tablelands Cachers.

23-Sep-11
Gotcha !!! Enjoyed the walk. TFTC

22-Jul-11
As I was part of the TLCs I hadn't logged this cache until now. Had watched as the works on the railway slowly progressed along here. Missed walked and riding this trail. Will be back one day.

22-Jul-11
On a rather dismal sort of day, I wandered up the bike path to this one. With only the Nuvi to work off, it took a few minutes to locate the cache.
The rain got heavier on the way back to the car and the dirt road was quite slippery in spots.

I'm fairly certain this one is gone, and needs to be checked by the CO. Given the coordinates and the clue, there really wasn't many places to hide a cache on this seat. We searched all over it and found nothing. Thanks anyway.

06-Aug-10
As mentioned in previous log, with it being about midnight and about 4 below, we were tempted to leave this one and come back on another day. But with it being the last in this area, we thought we'd get the geohounds out of their nice warm truck and make them walk it too. All in all a nice walk by moonlight and an easy find at the end.

Oberon 10. I have had the chance to walk down this track before, and this trip was just as good. The trail by the railway is great. Thanks.

Had already done one on the way to here, so, the boy and I jogged past that to this spot, easy find and a quick jog back and we headed off into the gloom to leave a message in a bottle.
