Haha! This took way too long to find! We circled the church multiple times with no luck when it was right under our noses the whole time. Found with AgentDoubbleduck. TFTC!
Good cache but harder than it seems. I have also found some very interesting things under the church. Like a spoon. Found with Nics_
We were driving from Fairlie through to Tekapo today, so Mrs nzk stopped for a few caches on the way while Mr nzk took the motorhome on ahead.
Time pressure and being directionally challenged got the better of her today and she wasn’t able to locate this cache. Thanks for bringing us to this interesting historic church. We hope to return for a better look some other time.

ay 2 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Christchurch to Twizel, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook.

What a find! I was impressed that the doors were opened so took lots of pics for my daughter who works for Heritage NZ - such a lovely church. (FP)
Lovely old building, once I figured out the west. I was reaching for the cache in no time. Thanks for the hide with rebel98
Geo-Roadtrip in the South Island with TrinityNZ and JustlookingOO to collect some PWGT's and as many other caches as we can.
Heading back to Chch for our flight back to Wellington, just had to stop in at this beautiful church. Took a few minutes to find the cache but the hint helped. TFTC

Down for a long weekend chasing PW Geotour and Challenge caches with LL113 and TrinityNZ. Decided to pop and do this park and grab on our way back to Christchurch. Pretty wee grounds, surprised where the cache was hidden, not our first look - didn't disturb anything. Cache all tucked away again. TFTC
Road tripping with Ll113 and JustLookingOO. We were driving past here today so decided to call in at this cute little spot.
We were a bit hesitant to walk where we thought the cache was, so tried some other spots first. No luck, so we reread the hint and one word confirmed where we needed to look.
The cache was soon in hand, signed and returned.
Thanks for the cache in this historic spot.

Managed to get away for a week. Let's see if Kiwicampnut and I can get through 2 mazes before I head home. Nice to be where there are plenty of unfound caches!
Mission for an overnighter is to collect the PWGT cache in Tekapo that we DNFed in October, then a good start to the Aug/Sep labyrinth.
A quick find here when we stopped to let a truck get ahead. Aways intend stopping, but have had traffic or weather issues almost every time. There are 2 logbooks here, so when I signed I thought the trackables had been here a while, so grabbed them to move on.
Thanks for the cache MollyChCh

Finally turned this frown into a smiley. A bit cold today but pretty quiet at GZ. Little cacher stayed in the car. Dropped 2 tb. Both logbook and container were in good condition. This concludes our winter school holidays. Thanks for placing this here.
We bit of a search but there it was, just as we were about to give up - TFTC
1529. 4:44 pm. Another beautiful rural church for a great stop. The cache had been pushed way back and I could only just reach it stretched out. TFT(union)C.
We had two attempts at this cache, the first was scuttled when some congregation members arrived to open the church just as we were hunting. Of course! It is Sunday and we hadn’t realised! After our day out caching elsewhere we stopped again on the way home -the church was still open so we had a look inside, and found the cache. An interesting piece of history and a beautiful building as well.
We finally managed to get away for a week’s holiday after months of lock downs and cancellations to various trips and flights. After landing in Christchurch we headed to Mount Cook to spend a few days exploring the area, doing a few walks and enjoying the dark sky star gazing, as well as exploring lakes and small towns of the Mackenzie country. We also found lots of geocaches which we enjoyed finding. Thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place and maintain these caches.
Love these rural churches, have visited many over the years due to caching! this one was well maintained. Always nice to reverse a string of dnf's. look for the yellow flowers TFTC!

DNF as the cellphone signal wasn’t available in Burke’s Pass so we didn’t know where to specifically look, lovely church and grounds though
Yep thers a cache here and heaps of parking. AND ICE CREAMS. First on the list. There is an amazing shop full of interesting recycled and created stuff. Well worth a look around. With icecreams in hand we wander up to the Church to look for this elusive one. The ice cream in hand made for checking out this rock pile a bit of a mission with no success. On our way out another thought was another man made structure and this time success by the Seagnoid. Great another one knocked off the list. cheers
Day 3 - Wednesday 22 December - Lake Pukaki to Timaru, Ashburton. We cached around Tekapo this morning. Mt John road was closed so walked up from the lake. Then headed to Timaru for some TMGT and PWGT. Left aafter dinner to spend the night in Ashburton
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

With Toby and Zara we are a bit like one of those 60m to pass B-trains. Only a bit like them - we're not a B-train as we are one hinge short, and it is closer to twenty metres to pass. Or even ten. But it is still way too much to stop in some of the caches along this road, so we just targeted the important ones -Like the PW cache a little way towards Tekapo and the icecream stop just over there. Actually we stopped for hte icecream and then looked to see if there was a cache here. But came over for the cache first. The Dragon and I spent ages hunting for the cache and got nowhere. Gave up and was leaving when the dragon had a bright idea and I found the cache a minute later, in a totaly different place to where we were looking.
Back to the village for an icecream. What an amazing place!
Giving this cache a favourite just for the village (not the cache or the church!)

Found, with real fruit icecreams in hands! We didn't have a pen with us so didn't sign log. Tftc.
Nice little church. Driving a loop circuit from Tekapo to find the caches on the way.
Continuing on our PWGT journey visiting the Canterbury area this weekend.
After an overnight in a superb new motel in Omarama, we were back on the road again. Still a bit chilly but beautiful clear sky. We expected a quick park and grab but it took a little longer to locate. Well maintained old church TFTC.

We had to pass this one on our way as previous cache owner was on way to memorial service here.
Today we were driving home and able to park up and walk back to this one. Nice to get a road covered in smiles now.
We looked at the wrong man made first and then clicked. Good to sign log all dry.
Thanks for this cache MollyChCh.

Found on our way to Tekapo on a glorious day. A delightful little historic church. We enjoyed reading about its history. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC!
No phone coverage in the area so just as well I had it loaded into the GPS. The GPS wasn't settling so had to use the clue. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day one of our southerrrn geocaching trip.
We had driven through a fair bit of rain, but as we neared Burkes Pass, the weather seemed to brighten which we were very happy about as we were keen to avenge a DNF here from 3 years ago. But it was still raining a bit as we approached the church. With hint already decoded, jackets on, and huddled under umbrellas, we trotted off to GZ where the cache was an instant find! We had spent too long looking in the wrong area last time but the new hint certainly was a big help today.
Took the cache back to the car to do the paperwork in the dry. Second cache found today and second DNF avenged. A great start to our trip and the rain pretty much stopped when we drove off! Thanks, MollyChCh.

#18767. Our second visit here and this time it was a quick find (just as well as when we started searching it was still raining; though when I got out of the car to re-hide the cache the rain had virtually stopped). A cute wee church. TFTC.
Found quickly, picked up TB and left another in its place. Thanks MollyChCh

A great spot to stop, this gets a fav point from me. We enjoyed looking around the church and I left a Tb here, but afterwards went to drop it in and it wasn't in my inventory... Oops didn't log it properly.
After spending a very cold night at Tekapo this morning we headed for Fairlie. It snowed overnight and the mountains in the morning were stunning with their fresh coat of snow. They received a fair amount of snow here in Burkes Pass because it was dripping off the church roof and turning the ground at GZ soggy and since we did not fancy soggy clothes we didn't attempt the find. Cute wee church though and we later visited the interesting place along the road. Museum? Furniture factory? American Memorabilia? Fascinating.
Thanks for bringing us here MollyChCh, even if we didn't get a smilie.

Day 17, the penultimate day of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm still in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Yesterday I had finished up in Tekapo, only to discover that Freedom Camping was so frowned upon (even if you are in a certified self-contained camper) that there is a blanket ban in place across the main township. That forced me to think outside the box, and I ended up parked up on a nearby rural road with a fantastic view of the stars above me. Suffice to say that my rest was fantastic and so I set off on my last full day of touring with a spring in my step, expecting to be back in Chch this evening.
I love driving the roads around here, especially right now as they are generally free of tourists, and so I was happy to break up my journey by pulling over every so often to try for a cache, such as this one.
There was virtually no-one around this early on a Sunday so I was able to park up close by to GZ and then conduct my search in relative peace. I had no trouble finding the cache, and there were no issues with it so the log was duly signed and the whole lot replaced as found before returning to the campervan and carrying on.
Thanks for placing this cache.

We checked the cache on our way to Tekapo - cache and both logbooks are in good condition. Happy hunting.

2nd time at this one. Well the first was on the way down and had no coverage so could not load description or hint and the gps was out. The way back to Christchurch we had both and were able to locate. Nice little church. Thanks for the cache
On the last day of an 8 day caching trip with Nosynel. Heading home via the Lindis. Quick find. Church was open but no one came to check what I was doing! Tftc

A delightful, place to stop on our way from Lake Tekapo to Akaroa. In the UK this lovely little church would be included in the Church Micro series which takes cachers to ecclesiastical buildings of all shapes, sizes and faiths. Have a Fav point for getting us to stop here. Cache was a nice quick find. SL. TFTC.
Zowaar! Almost at the end of our campervan rental period, we had to make it to Queenstown. Not very much time to do caches on the way, but there are some exceptions . First church we saw that had the doors open, nice to see they hold services here. We bought a souvenir and left the money in the donations box. Tftc, Simone
CçccDuring our roadtrip through New Zealand I found this cache "St. Patrick's Burke's Pass (South Canterbury)" from MollyChCh on 25 februari 2020 10:27.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

Not the first time I've tried while driving through. This time found it relatively quickly when spotting something out of place. Church was locked today. Warm sunny day. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2321
Every time I drive past I have to stop for a wee look into this beautiful church.
Now found a cache as well.

After much searching and trying to decide what spot we found it. Lovely church
Using the hint we looked under all man made structures on the property but could not find
On our way back home, we stopped here for a little rest. Very nice church, but no cache to be found, we tried to make sense of the hint, read previous logs, but there was nothing after three of us looked for about 15 minutes.
What a lovely old church. And it looks as if it is still in use. Today nobody was here so we could search and look without being watched.

??????It's time for Xmas holidays!??????
At Munich airport I met Jon Snow and Ari and a couple of muggles. Here we started our common holiday tour.
First we went to Singapore by plane, where we stayed one night and strolled through this beautiful city. It was really amazing!
Then we went on to our real destination: New Zealand! ????
Within nearly four weeks we first explored the North Island, followed by the South Island in the second half of our journey. We could discover unique landscapes and great nature, we saw many animals (and no, I'm not talking about sand flies here??), we met nice people and found also some caches. ??
Thanks to all the owners for elaborating, hiding and maintaining their caches! Staying and caching in ???? and ???? was a great experience and real fun!
Sorry for logging so late, but it's not one of my favorite pastimes...
Greetings from "good old Europe"??, H.N.

?????? Vacation at the original locations of the LotR-films! ??????
Together with Jon Snow and H_Nelson and some friends-of-mine-muggles we went to New Zealand for almost four weeks, collecting many great impressions of both islands, their awesome landscapes, their clinging (and indeed very annoying!) muggles and bushes, their fascinating wildlife (especially the sandflies were very clinging, too??), their various locations of my favorite movies ?? (although the guided tours were very overpriced!) and last but not least their nice geocaches!
I fell especially in love with New Zealand's bushes because most of the caches are hidden deep inside. And the good thing is: there are definitely no muggles there??!!!
It was a very nice vacation with many great impressions and experiences!
We stopped here on our way from Twizel to Christchurch. One of the muggles of our group loved the old cars here at Burke's Pass. So we had enough time to go to the little church finding the box.
TFTC and greetings from Bavaria, Ari

My first caching foray in some time on a round-about trip from Rolleston to Franz Josef. Love this part of the country
Since our holidays in New Zealand were drawing to an end, and I still had one TB to drop off here, I urged Miss Salamander that we should find another before reaching Christchurch. So on our way from Lake Tekapo to the east, we stopped here at Burke's Pass and took a little stroll through this nice little outpost which really looks like from a former time. Unfortunately the church itself was closed and could only be watched from the outside.
Using the hint, it was quite clear where the cache would be, and after a few minutes Miss Salamander found it. Thank you!

GC let us stop on places we maybe would miss without this hobby. This was one of this kind. Special thanks to CO.
Our second visit to this lovely church. Great to see it still a vital part of the community. Didn't find when we were here a couple of years ago but this time my wife's persistence paid off and we located it. Nicer without the big old pines that have been removed since our previous visit. TFTC
Day 3 of a 4 day road trip. My mission on this trip was to travel South and West and then East and North. This road trip was all about the numbers but not quite in the usual way. In fact it was hours and hours spent on the road in search of minutes (and caches). I'm filling in gaps in my 'minutes' found across New Zealand in order to complete the 400 minutes challenge for the cache GC7YQZ8 - at the start of this trip I had a 52 minute gap to fill. GPS was a little off but the hint helped to locate the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
[#4524] After having spent the night at Patterson Ponds we visited the Lake Tekapo village and made a short walk alongside the shore, over the pedestrian bridge to the small church and back to our campervan. Unfortunately two DNFs in Lake Tekapo. We continued our trip over SH6 to Fairlie and made some stops along the way. Last coffee pause was at Geraldine after which we drove in a straight line to Christchurch for our last days of our holiday travels in New Zealand. Thanks to all cache owners for making our visit even more fun and interesting.

What a pretty little church. We took a few photos inside and out and bought some lollies from the honesty box inside before looking for the cache. It’s really great to see how much the locals care about preserving this place.
The container was eventually located after looking in a few wrong places, in one of which we found a rabbit skin that we can only presume is there as part of some sort of good luck blessing, but we didn’t want to speculate or disturb it so put it back where we found it.
A special place. ThanKs MollyChCh.

Together with my boy friend Hloust, son Jonas_999 and our friend Standarevnice, we went for a trip around the world. From Prague to London and from here to Shanghai. From China we flew to New Zealand. We liked the chap, we bought the bombones, and Hloust found a box. I inserted Geokret. Thanks for the cache and send greetings from the Czech Republic.

Found after 20 minutes. To respect the heritage value of this property, may we respectfully ask cache owner to make the description super clear as to avoid any confusion of where the cache is located to prevent geocachers rummaging thru and poking and lifting unnecessary things. Please state that the cache is outdoors and may not be available after snow fall. Please update coordinates too. Ours were 12m out: S 44° 05.405' E 170° 39.054'.
